One of these will be the Guerilla 450 neo-retro roadster. Launch is expected during the second quarter of FY 24-25.Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 – What to expect?Test mules of Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 have been spotted in India and overseas locations as well. The bike will be based on the new 450cc platform that underpins the new Himalayan 450. Ahead of launch, Guerrilla 450 logo has now leaked online.2024 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Logo LeaksThough based on new Himalayan 450, Guerrilla 450 won’t be getting as many premium features as the Himalayan 450. For example, Guerrilla 450 will be getting standard telescopic forks at front and not the USD forks seen with Himalayan 450. Similarly, the Tripper TFT display offered with the Himalayan 450 could be replaced with a semi-digital instrument console. It could be the same unit, as used with the Super Meteor 650.True to its roadster profile, Guerrilla 450 will be getting 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. In comparison, the Himalayan is equipped with 21-inch and 18-inch wire spoke wheels at front and rear, respectively.2024 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450As seen with test mules, Guerrilla 450 has a minimalistic profile. The retro bits include the circular headlamp and rear-view mirrors. The bike has a classic teardrop shaped fuel tank and a single piece saddle. At rear, the tail lamp and turn signals are seamlessly integrated into a single unit. This feature is similar to that of the new Himalayan.2024 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 – Ride comfortGuerrilla 450 has an upright, comfortable riding stance. It seems suitable for city commutes as well as longer journeys across highways. Although the bike won’t be getting USD forks, the telescopic forks and the rear monoshock unit should be able to provide optimal comfort to the rider. In its stock form, Guerrilla 450 will be primarily targeted at solo riders. The rear seat section seems narrow and may not be comfortable for the pillion over longer durations.2024 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 – Performance, specsPowering Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will be the 452cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine that delivers 40 PS and 40 Nm. It will be one of the most affordable options in its class. Along with the domestic market, Guerrilla 450 will also be aggressively pushed across international markets. The new Himalayan 450 is already gaining popularity across multiple export markets. Something similar could be achievable with the Guerrilla 450 neo-retro roadster. More

Mahindra XUV400 EV Facelift Based On XUV 3XO Incoming? New Variants Homologated

Image for illustration onlyWhen launched, Mahindra XUV400 EV facelift will continue to rival MG ZS EV and Tata Nexon EV LR and the likesNew homologation documents filed by India’s de facto SUV manufacturer, Mahindra, sparks a few interesting questions. The company is on the verge of launching a new trim lineup for its electric offering, XUV400. Currently, we only have two trim levels – EC Pro and EL Pro. These will be replaced with a newer trim hierarchy.Mahindra XUV400 EV Facelift Incoming?Mahindra has homologated a new trim hierarchy with its electric offering XUV400. Currently, XUV400’s current trim hierarchy has EC Pro and EL Pro. Mahindra is keeping the EC and EL main trim levels intact. But the Pro suffix has been dropped in favour of new characters.Mahindra XUV400 EV New Variants HomologatedIn effect, EC will get L, L(O) and LL variants, while EL will get LL(O), LH, LH(O), PH and PH(O). Mahindra XUV400 EC L is the base variant, whereas EL PH(O) seems to be top-spec variant. Dimensions remain the same as current model. Launch timeline for the new trim hierarchy is not known yet.If you have been following developments from the house of Mahindra, you must be aware of the fact that the company updated XUV400’s trim hierarchy just a few months ago. So, why change their mind regarding trim hierarchy in just three or four months? Homologations are tedious affairs.Mahindra XUV 3XO Panoramic sunroofWhy though?Mahindra is likely to be facelifting XUV400 with the recently launched XUV 3XO’s design and styling. Now, the updated trim hierarchy makes a lot of sense as the company seems to be spreading out the excessive features seen on XUV 3XO in many variants to offer varied pricing with upcoming XUV400 facelift. Will get new Interiors with soft touch materials, L2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, and more from XUV 3XO aboveInterestingly, Mahindra is retaining XUV400 name and not replacing it with XUV 4XO as they did with XUV300. That’s because Mahindra doesn’t have XUV 4XO trademark. The new naming scheme only has odd numbers in them (XUV 5XO and XUV 7XO) and XUV400 is not one of them. Expect XUV700 facelift to be named XUV 7XO.Where design is concerned, Mahindra XUV400 facelift will be almost identical to XUV 3XO, only slightly longer and a lot more proportionate. Fascia with large LED DRLs, 17-inch wheels, rear connected LED tail lights, Level-2 ADAS, panoramic sunroof, soft-touch plastics and other recently added attributes from XUV 3XO will be carried over to XUV400 facelift.Powertrains-wise, Mahindra XUV400 facelift gets around the same 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh batteries as before. There seems to be a sole 150 PS electric motor. Smaller 34.5 kWh battery is sourced from LG Chem, while larger 39.4 kWh battery has two sources, one being LG Chem and the other is Farasis. Also read – Mahindra launched XUV700 Blaze Edition More

Yezdi Dealer Event Scoops – Roadking, Electric Motorcycle, New Engines (250cc, 500cc), BSA Launch

Yezdi Dealer Event ScoopsUnlike the two Roadking Concepts showcased, Yezdi Streetfighter 334 and Adventure Rally Pro or AdvenX will launch very soonIn a recent dealer meeting, Mahindra & Mahindra owned Classic Legends brand shared details about current operations along with future roadmap. Classic Legends is taking a holistic approach to navigate the Indian premium neo-retro classic motorcycle segment. The plan is to be better than ever and rival the likes of Royal Enfield and Honda.Yezdi Dealer Event ScoopsThere is so much going on at Classic Legends camp, it is quite a task to unfurl everything that the company is lining up. We recently covered four Yezdi motorcycles displayed on the stage. These include two unnamed motorcycles along with Streetfighter 334 and Adventure Rally Pro or AdvenX. These fall under the umbrella of Yezdi Customs, as revealed by the sticker on Adventure Rally Pro’s fuel tank.Beyond these, there are a ton of developments at Classic Legends company. Sources tell us that work is ongoing for 4 new engines, Roadking revival, company’s upcoming electric vehicles, BSA debut with Goldstar 650, immediate launches, future launches and more.Legendary Roadking monickerYezdi showcased the Roadking concept on the stage with two powertrains. Of the four bikes showcased on stage, the first two motorcycles are un-named and their side body panels had a new Yezdi logo with a “Y”. This logo has a “Legendary Yezdi” lettering along with two horizontal stripes, like wings.Yezdi Roadking Concept 334ccThese two motorcycles are expected to bear the Roadking moniker and a new identity, as seen with the new logo. Currently, Classic Legends doesn’t possess the Roadking trademark, nor does Boman Rustom Irani. But the company is working on reviving the Roadking name. Where design is concerned, both these concepts pay homage to the icon, Yezdi Roadking, and flaunts similar colour schemes as well.4 new engines under developmentIn an earlier post, we mentioned that there seems to be a bigger engine with the first Roadking motorcycle along with a fatter exhaust. It is true. While the red Roadking dons the same 334cc engine as current Yezdi motorcycles, other Roadking motorcycle has a bigger 500cc engine and a larger exhaust canister.Multi-cylinder engines are not on the cards yet, but this 500cc single-cylinder unit is one of the four new engines under development and was displayed for the first time, with launch slated in 2025. Speculations suggest around 40 bhp and 40 Nm, pitting it against the upcoming Sherpa 450 derived Royal Enfield offerings, Triumph 400 and Hero-Harley 440cc offerings.Yezdi Roadking Concept 500ccThere is a new 250cc engine under development spawning a range of affordable products. This engine is speculated to boast most of the hardware from current 334cc engine like a DOHC 4V head, liquid cooling and 6-speed gearbox and still eke out more performance than any 350cc Royal Enfield. There is less information about the remaining two engines, but both of them are “higher cc” engines.BSA brand debut, Goldstar 650 launchApart from Jawa and Yezdi, BSA brand also falls under Classic Legends’ umbrella. The company is keen on introducing the BSA brand to the Indian market and launching Goldstar 650 single-cylinder motorcycle. Goldstar 650 was showcased at the same event separately and many dealers test-drove it too.New BSA Goldstar 650Exhaust note of Goldstar 650 was very enticing. As of now, BSA Goldstar 650 is manufactured in India and then shipped globally. Domestic launch will happen soon and will rival Royal Enfield’s 650cc offerings. Owing to its single-cylinder architecture, pricing will be competitive.Electric motorcyclesNot a lot is known about the upcoming electric motorcycles from Classic Legends. However, they are confirmed to be under development. There are a multitude of motorcycle genres in the form of rough concept sketches in the large banner behind the showcased Yezdi motorcycles. All of these sketches show an IC engine with exhausts. So, EVs seem to be further down the line.Yezdi Streetfighter 334Launch TimelineBoth Roadking concept motorcycles will not launch any time soon. They are only showcases of what to expect from an iconic motorcycle design revival. However, Yezdi intends to launch three motorcycles this year. Both Streetfighter 334 and Adventure Rally Pro or AdvenX will launch very soon. Classic Legends intends to launch BSA Goldstar 650 in India by the end of this year.Yezdi Adventure Rally ProCompany’s 250cc lineup will debut by the end of 2024 as well. Streetfighter 334 was the star of this event and garnered the most attention. Deservingly so. It will lock horns with Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and a price tag of under Rs. 2 lakh is speculated. They further added that all of these Yezdi bikes sounded much louder, bassier and better than what the company currently sells. More

Mahindra XUV 7XO, 5XO, 3XO, 1XO Names Registered – For Upcoming Electric SUVs

Mahindra XUV 7XO, 5XO, 3XO, 1XO Names Registered. Image – Shantanu GodaseNames like XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, XUV 1XO are easy to remember and establish a clear differentiation between respective ICE and EV modelsIn a couple of years from now, Mahindra will have expanded its EV portfolio to include multiple new products. The names for these new EVs are also being worked out. It appears that Mahindra is keen on picking some short, trendy names, in line with the dynamic profile of its upcoming EVs.Mahindra Trademarks XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, XUV 1XOInstead of choosing entirely new names for its upcoming EVs, Mahindra seems to be using a derivative of its existing naming convention. The newly trademarked names XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, XUV 1XO are apparently the EV versions of XUV700, XUV500, XUV300 and an all new small SUV EV. It is likely that these new names will be used for production versions of the XUV EV concepts which were shown earlier.Mahindra XUV 1XO Name RegisteredThe addition of X in the new names links it to the electric underpinnings and the letter ending with O meets Mahindra’s tradition of vehicle naming (Bolero, Scorpio, Marazzo, etc). While they also relate to their ICE versions, the names are short, crisp and easy to remember. A high recall value is expected, similar to the names of the ICE models.Mahindra XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, XUV 1XO – Expected featuresExcluding the closed-off grille, several of the styling bits will be common across the ICE and EV models of XUV700 and XUV300. The equipment list will also have a similar set of features. The EV versions will probably be able to support a higher number of tech features.Mahindra XUV 3XO Name RegisteredFor its born-electric range, Mahindra is working on multiple segment-first features. For example, a test mule of XUV.e9 was recently spotted with a triple-screen dashboard. While being functionally relevant, it significantly enhances cabin aesthetics. The triple-screen unit covers almost the entire width of the dash. It helps achieve a symmetrical design format, which is not possible with the popular dual-screen setup seen with many SUVs.Mahindra XUV 5XO Name RegisteredIt is possible that the XUV 7XO and 5XO could get this new triple-screen dash. In comparison, XUV 3XO and X1O may continue with a solo touchscreen infotainment system. Bigger SUVs could get additional connectivity and safety features. The ADAS kit could be expanded in the case of XUV 7XO and 5XO. XUV 3XO and 1XO could also get some of the critical ADAS features such as blind spot detection, traffic sign recognition and driver drowsiness detection.Mahindra XUV 7XO, XUV 5XO, XUV 3XO, XUV 1XO – Expected range, battery specsUpcoming Mahindra EVs will be based on the new INGLO architecture. Battery packs will be in the range of 60 kWh to 80 kWh for the bigger SUVs. While XUV 7XO and 5XO could get both single-motor and dual-motor AWD options, the XUV 3XO and 1XO are likely to be offered with only a single electric motor. Detailed specs are yet to be revealed, although the new INGLO platform promises significant improvements across performance, drive comfort and versatility.Mahindra XUV 5XO Name RegisteredXUV 7XO, 5XO and XUV 3XO will have a range upwards of 400-450 km while XUV1XO could have a range of about 200-250 kms. With rapid progress in charging infrastructure, an extraordinary high range may not be required. Also, the focus is shifting on achieving a faster recharge. This allows users to load up quickly within minutes and resume their journey. However, experiments with newer battery technologies continue that can deliver a much higher range.Mahindra XUV 7XO, 5XO, 3XO, 1XO Names Registered More

2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 Incoming – Homologated Ahead Of Launch

Husqvarna Svartpilen : Image for reference onlyMost of the components of upcoming 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 will be shared with recently launched 2024 Vitpilen 250Bajaj Auto has been handling motorcycle production for as many as three international motorcycle brands. These are KTM, Husqvarna and more recently, Triumph. There has been a significant launch with Husqvarna in the form of 2024 Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 250. Now there is a new motorcycle incoming, which is Svartpilen 250.2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 IncomingEarlier this year, the iconic Swedish motorcycle manufacturer, Husqvarna, launched a 401 version of its Black Arrow (Svartpilen) and a 250 version of its Silver Arrow (Vitpilen). At that time, there was no Vitpilen with the larger 401 and no Svartpilen with smaller 250. This was likely done to associate displacement categories with character and design DNA.As per the company, there won’t be a (Silver Arrow) Vitpilen 401 launch keeping the Roadster-styled Vitpilen limited to smaller 250cc segment. However, Svartpilen (Black Arrow) seems to be getting ready to be launched in both 401 and 250 segments. Last month, Husqvarna had only launched Svartpilen 401.The new Svartpilen 250 has been recently homologated, post Svartpilen 401 launch. As per the leaked homologation document type approved by Transport Department of India, Svartpilen will be a slightly taller version of Vitpilen 250, launched last month. Other dimensions like 1,368 mm long wheelbase, 807 mm width and 2071 mm length are common between both 250cc bikes.2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 250 homologatedHowever, there is a slight difference in gross weight. Upcoming Svartpilen 250 features a 315 kg gross weight, while it is 314 kg for recently launched Vitpilen 250. Type approval documents also show the same engine displacement at 249.07cc and the same 22.8 kW peak power (30.57 bhp).Changes expected with Husqvarna’s Black ArrowThere seems to be a slight retune in Svartpilen 250’s engine as its peak power comes in at 9,250 RPM as opposed to 9,500 RPM of Vitpilen 250. This is done to suit respective character and styling genres. The same 249.07 cc single-cyl liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine is likely to be carried over to Svartpilen 250 as well. This engine will generate 30.57 bhp peak power and 25 Nm peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a slip and assist clutch. Where componentry is concerned, there will be non-adjustable USD telescopic front forks and single-sided rear mono-shock shared with Vitpilen 250. Wheels could be wire-spoke ones with tube-type dual-sport tyres. Probably Pirelli Scorpions.2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 : For referenceWhen opposed to previous Svartpilen 250, there will be a larger fuel tank, a tail-section (no more factory tail tidy), a larger headlight cowl and a much larger and more accommodating seat. There will be a sole matt black shade with neon highlights. More

Royal Enfield Goan 350 Name Trademarked – Classic 350 Based Bobber?

Royal Enfield Goan 350 – Likely to be name of Classic 350 BobberRoyal Enfield Goan Classic 350 will focus on a more comfortable riding stance, best suited for long distance journeysRoyal Enfield has a strong grasp of the 350cc segment with bestsellers like Classic 350, Bullet 350, Hunter 350 and Super Meteor 350. Such a wide range of options are unbeatable by any other brand. Coming soon is the Goan Classic 350 that will further strengthen Royal Enfield’s entry-level portfolio. Goan Classic 350 name is likely to be used for the bobber-style motorcycle that has been spotted on road tests multiple times in recent months. How is Goan Classic 350 different from Classic 350?As the name suggests, Goan Classic 350 will be similar to Classic 350. But the bobber version will have some unique features, one of which will be taller handlebars. This is a signature feature of bobber motorcycles. A taller handlebar is usually associated with greater comfort across long distance rides.Royal Enfield Goan 350 – Likely to be name of Classic 350 BobberHowever, the experience may vary depending on the user’s height and other physical traits. A taller handlebar also offers other benefits such as improved back posture, better control and handling across steeper terrain and greater stability.Goan Classic 350 could also see changes in the seat design and seat height. A test mule spotted recently was seen with a rear pillion seat. This could be made available via a separate variant or as an accessory. The bobber 350 could also have slightly forward set footpegs. Test mule sightings also reveal that Goan Classic 350 will have a different exhaust tip. As a result, it is likely that the exhaust note will also be distinct.Royal Enfield Bobber 350One can also see some cosmetic touch-ups exclusively for the bobber version. For example, one of the test mules was spotted with teal-coloured tyre walls, similar to white-walled tyres. This again is a signature feature associated with vintage motorcycles popular in the 60s. Overall, Goan Classic 350 carries a higher ratio of retro flavour in comparison to other 350cc Royal Enfield bikes.Goan Classic 350 specs, performanceMost of the hardware for the bobber version will be the same as Classic 350. Typical bobber motorcycles have a longer wheelbase. But that’s not the case with the Goan Classic 350. Royal Enfield has favoured a mild bobber look and feel, instead of going for a full-fledged makeover. The latter could have necessitated major tweaks to the platform, which in turn will increase development and production cost. Goan Classic 350 will have the same 1,390 mm of wheelbase as Classic 350.Suspension and braking setup will also be common. Classic 350 has 41 mm telescopic front forks with 130 mm of travel. At rear, the bike has twin-tube emulsion shock absorbers with 6-step adjustable preload. Braking duties are performed by 300 mm disc and 270 mm disc, at front and rear, respectively. Dual-channel ABS is standard. Powering the Goan Classic 350 will be the 349cc air-oil cooled, single cylinder engine. It churns out 20.2 bhp of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. More
