In the past two years, most OEMs have announced multiple price hikes.Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Prices May 2022Bullet 350 standard variant new price is Rs 1,47,999. The kickstart variant will cost Rs 1,54,674 whereas electric start variant is available at Rs 1,63,338. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. The bike remains unchanged mechanically, powered by a 346cc air cooled, FI engine. It generates 19.1 bhp of max power at 5,250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission.Bullet 350 runs on 19-inch wheels at both ends. Suspension system comprises 35mm telescopic forks at front and twin rear shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload. Braking system has a 280mm disc at front and 153mm drum brake at rear. The bike is offered with single-channel ABS.Among Royal Enfield’s 350cc motorcycles, Bullet is usually placed at second or third spot in terms of sales. While Classic 350 leads by a significant margin, the second spot is a clash between Bullet and Meteor 350. In March 2022, Bullet was ahead of Meteor with sales of 8,283 units. Unlike other Royal Enfield bikes that are preferred in overseas markers as well, Bullet 350 does not have any numbers to show in exports.New-gen Bullet 350 launchOne of the most iconic motorcycles in the country, Bullet is preferred for its dominating street presence, classic styling and thumping exhaust note. To enhance overall user experience, Royal Enfield will soon launch the next-gen version of Bullet. It will be based on the new 350cc platform and the new J-series engine.Meteor 350 was the first Royal Enfield bike based on the new 350cc platform. The updates were later introduced with Classic 350 as well. The new 350cc engine delivers slightly more power at 20.2 bhp. However, torque output is down by 1 Nm, as compared to the existing engine used with Bullet.Royal Enfield’s new 350cc platform is superior in several aspects including improved handling and control. As Meteor and Classic 350 users have reported, vibrations are almost non-existent even at high speeds. These benefits will be available with the new-gen Bullet as well.Visually, new-gen Bullet will continue with its retro styling and liberal use of chrome. Specific components like headlamp and taillamp will be updated. Some new colours could also be introduced. Good news is that the company has reduced prices of Scram 411 within a couple of months of its market launch.At a time when automakers are increasing prices of their models due to a rise in input costs, the lowering of prices of Scram 411 comes as a pleasant surprise. Prices for the scrambler have been reduced by Rs 2,846.Royal Enfield Prices May 2022 – Classic 350, Scram 411After the latest price revision, Scram 411 is priced from Rs 2.03 lakh to Rs 2.08 lakh. Interestingly, these are the same prices of Scram 411, from the time it was launched in earlier this year. Prices were increased in April 2022, and now have been reduced by Rs 2,846.On the other hand, Classic 350 can be had at a price range of Rs 1.90 lakh and Rs 2.21 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom. Despite price revisions, features and specs on both bikes remain identical.Royal Enfield Classic 350, Scram 411 – Prices May 2022Classic 350 got a generation upgrade in late 2020 in which it received brand new underpinnings and powertrain. It is powered by a 349cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that kicks out 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, Scram borrows its underpinnings and engine from Himalayan. It is powered by a 411cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine that produces 24 bhp and 32 Nm of torque.Recently, Royal Enfield also reduced prices of Meteor 350 and Himalayan. However, that came at a cost since the company won’t be offering Tripper Navigation as a standard feature for any of its models henceforth. This step was taken as a measure to combat the global semiconductor chip shortage. It can be availed only as an official accessory through the company’s MIY configurator on the Royal Enfield website.Royal Enfield 650 Twins Prices May 2022Apart from this Royal Enfield has also increased prices for its flagship 650 Twins- Interceptor and Continental GT. Both models have witnessed a price hike of up to Rs. 4,681 for their top-end chrome variants. Prices of the base Standard and mid Custom variants of both the roadster and the cafe racer have been increased by Rs 2,845.Royal Enfield 650 Twins Prices May 2022After the latest price update, Interceptor 650 is available at a price range of Rs 2.86 lakh and Rs 3.10 lakh whereas Continental GT is offered at a starting price of Rs 3.03 lakh and tops out at Rs 3.27 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom. Like other models in the Royal Enfield, no changes in specs or features have been made in either of the motorcycles.Both 650 Twins are powered by a 648cc parallel-twin air/oil-cooled motor that produces 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. Suspension is handled by conventional forks up front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at rear with preload adjustment. While the company has done exceedingly well in terms of YoY sales, MoM sales dipped significantly.Royal Enfield has seen outstanding YoY sales both in terms of domestic and exports. Total sales (domestic + exports) which had stood at 53,298 units in April 2021, increased 16.62 percent to 62,155 units in April 2022. This related to an 8,857 unit volume growth. MoM sales however dipped 8.16 percent over 67,677 units sold in March 2022 with volume de-growth at 5,522 units.Royal Enfield Sales April 2022In domestic markets, sales stood at 53,852 units in the past month, up 10.38 percent over 48,789 units sold in April 2021. MoM sales dipped 7.91 percent as compared to 58,477 units sold in March 2022. Exports on the other hand increased 84.14 percent on a YoY basis to 8,303 units in April 2022, up from 4,509 units shipped in April 2021. MoM exports fell 9.75 percent over 9,200 units sold in March 2022.RE’s 350cc bikes that include the likes of Classic, Meteor, Electra and Bullet saw sales and exports at 51,564 units in April 2022. This was an increase of 10.75 percent from 46,561 units sold in April 2021 with volume growth at 5,003 units and an 82.86 percent share. This was a MoM decline of 7.35 percent from 55,653 units sold in March 2022 when share percentage stood at 82.23 percent. Royal Enfield’s 350cc range was also at the top of sales charts in March 2022 with 5 of the 350cc models in the top 5 positions.Royal Enfield Sales April 2022Sales of above 350cc bikes that include Himalayan and 650 Twins posted a 57.21 percent YoY growth from 6,737 units sold in April 2021 to 10,591 units in the past month. MoM sales dipped 11.92 percent over 12,024 units sold in March 2022. Share percentage also fell from 17.77 percent in March 2022 to 17.04 percent in April 2022.Upcoming Royal Enfield MotorcyclesRoyal Enfield is planning to launch multiple new motorcycles across the range. In the entry range, they plan to launch new-gen Bullet 350 and Hunter 350. Both bikes were recently spied on test in Chennai. These two bikes will share much in terms of engine and platform.The new gen Bullet 350 and Hunter 350 will get a new 350cc platform and J Series engine that also powers the Meteor and Classic 350. The engine will offer 20.2 hp power and 27 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed gearbox. Hunter 350 will be positioned below the Meteor and Classic 350 and will be one of the most affordable 350cc bikes in the market.On the premium side, Royal Enfield is working on at least 3 new 650cc motorcycles. One is a cruiser, other is Super Meteor 650 and 3rd is Shotgun 650. These bikes are likely to be launched sometime later this year. The Chennai-based bikemaker has discontinued the standard feature of Tripper Navigation from Meteor 350 and Himalayan.The cruiser and the adventure tourer were offered with this feature as standard across all variants. After the latest update, Tripper Navigation on these bikes will only be available through Royal Enfield’s MIY configurator on the official website as an optional accessory.Tripper Navigation deleted from Meteor, HimalayanExact reason for deletion of this feature isn’t known but it could be due to the global shortage of semiconductor chips. Sources tell RushLane that prices of both Meteor and Himalayan are likely to be reduced by about Rs 5,000, because of the discontinuation of Tripper Navigation. In other models like the new-gen Classic 350 and Scram 411, Tripper Navigation has been offered as an optional accessory from the beginning.The Tripper pod displays turn-by-turn navigation when paired with the Royal Enfield app on the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth. Recently, Royal Enfield added three new colour options in the Meteor 350 lineup. These included a green and blue paint in the base Fireball variant and a new red shade offered in the top-end Supernova variant. All in all, the cruiser is now available in a total of ten paint schemes with three variants on offer.New Royal Enfield HimalayanBooking Amount IncreasedIn another update, Royal Enfield has decided to increase booking amount from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 for all its models. The revised booking amount will come into effect starting from 1 May 2022 onwards. The company currently has seven offerings under its belt including Bullet 350, Classic 350, Meteor 350, Himalayan, Scram 411, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.Upcoming Models from Royal EnfieldRoyal Enfield is also busy developing multiple new models for the coming future. In the 350cc category, it is developing Hunter 350 and the new-gen Bullet 350 that will be underpinned by the new J series platform. On the other hand, the company is also developing multiple new models in the 650cc category including Super Meteor and Shotgun.A more powerful 450cc iteration of Himalayan is also under development. All these models have already been spotted testing on multiple occasions in recent times. Royal Enfield is expected to launch at least two new models in the remainder of this year. This type of fairing was used several decades earlier for racing events. It was preferred, as it was believed to significantly reduce drag. However, due to the compromised balance and handling of such faired bikes, these were banned from racing in 1958.Now, around 70 decades later, the dustbin fairing has been resurrected by Bengaluru-based Greasehouse Customs and indiMotard. The idea was to strike a balance between looks and performance, which has been achieved with this customization project.The bike has received extensive changes including major performance upgrades. It has been nicknamed ‘Dunaali’, a double barrelled rifle long associated with power, influence and dominance in the Indian wild wild west.Continental GT dustbin fairing designDustbin fairings are called so owing to their resemblance to a large sized dustbin. This custom dustbin fairing on Continental GT appears to be an evolved version that is far more refined and aesthetically pleasing in comparison to its predecessors. The rounded front section bears a closer resemblance to the nose of an aircraft, a sub and even a Japanese bullet train.Royal Enfield 650 Modified by indiMotardMuch of the stock parts have been replaced with either custom built or aftermarket units. The bike utilizes a glossy finish all across. Several parts including the dustbin fairing and tank cover are made using carbon fibre. This not only looks great, but also helps reduce weight and add strength.Mechanical updatesThis customization project is not just a visual treat, but also involves major engine tweaks. While the stock Continental GT makes 47 hp of max power, this modified bike has been tuned to deliver 62.2 hp. Power delivery has been optimized for low revs as well.The engine gets a long list of changes including larger injectors, modified cylinder heads and use of high compression pistons from S&S Cycle. The engine was tuned with Race Dynamics’ Piggyback ECU and FuelX Autotune systems.As primary objective was to create the fastest Royal Enfield 650 drag motorcycle, a number of stock parts have been replaced with lighter units made from aluminium. It includes components like the machined clip-ons, swingarm, subframe and yokes with adjustable rake. The bike weighs 170 kg, which is significantly less than the 202 kg of stock Continental GT.Other key customizations include velocity stacks, customized two-into-one exhaust, quick shifter, Rekluse clutch, new grips, RCB brake master cylinder and UMA Racing quick throttle. Front suspension has been lowered and stiffened whereas rear stock units have been replaced with preload-adjustable YSS units.Customized Continental GT 650 has already proven its worth in terms of performance. The motorcycle was recently caught testing again, this time by automotive enthusiast Bibin Benny Mathew. Thanks to camouflage, most of the design is still not completely visible. But from what we can see, it is going to get an all new design.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – What to expect?Upcoming Himalayan 450 is expected to come with a newly developed engine, displacing around 450cc. Power and torque output numbers are not revealed yet, but it could be developing around 40 bhp and 45 Nm of torque.A 6-speed gearbox will make it to the Himalayan 450. Unlike the 5-speed unit found on the more off-road oriented Himalayan 411. On the features front, we can expect a host of electronic packages from Royal Enfield like ride-by-wire, riding modes, tripper display for Bluetooth connectivity and navigation.New Himalayan 450 comes with a tubular frame at the front to hold jerry cans. A tubular frame at the back for mounting luggage. The motorcycle also gets a front beak to complete the adventure-tourer look.New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450The seat on the Himalayan 450 is a split unit and looks large enough to offer good riding comfort. The Rider’s triangle seems to be different than current Himalayan. The footpegs of Himalayan 450 look a little too rear set for a hardcore off-roader. The Himalayan 411 gets centre-set footpegs for comfortable touring and for maneuvering the motorcycle while standing up. The Himalayan 450 seems to have a slightly committed riding position.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Exhaust DesignThe upcoming REH 450 will feature an exhaust system which has not been seen on any Royal Enfield motorcycle. The design is somewhat similar to those seen on KTM Duke and Adventure motorcycles. Even the design of engine block is quite different, which we have not seen on other RE motorcycles.It is is expected to get similar wheels and tyre combinations to the Himalayan 411 with a 21” wheel at the front and 17” at the rear. We can also expect a slightly bigger fuel tank than the Himalayan 411. The Himalayan 450 might not get switchable ABS like the Scram 411.New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450Himalayan 450 test mule is seen with vertically laid-out instrument cluster. Speaking about suspension setup, in the front it gets USD forks and the rear is suspended via a monoshock. USD forks will likely make the motorcycle nimble in terms of handling, as will have a tighter chassis mount at the front.Pricing and launch details are unknown. Launch of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 might result in the company discontinuing existing Himalayan and become the most powerful single-cylinder motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s stable. More

This included 58,477 units sold in domestic markets and 9,200 units which were exported. This was an increase over 66,058 units (domestic + exports) sold in March 2021. Even as the company noted higher demand for its 350cc range in Indian markets, globally it was larger bikes such as the Himalayan and 650 Twins that received more response from buyers.Royal Enfield has reported a 2.82 percent de-growth in YoY sales. Sales which had stood at 60,173 units in March 2021 dipped to 58,477 units in March 2022. MoM sales on the other hand improved by 12.16 percent from 52,135 units sold in February 2021.Royal Enfield Sales March 2022 – Classic 350 TopsThe domestic sales list was dominated by the company’s 350cc lineup that included Classic, Meteor, Electra and Bullet. Classic 350 sales increased 3.16 percent to 32,694 units in the past month, from 31,694 units sold in March 2021. This was a 1,000 unit volume growth with the Classic 350 commanding a 55.91 percent share. MoM sales also noted an 8.68 percent increase from 30,082 units sold in February 2022.RE Bullet 350 saw its sales dip 14.55 percent to 8,283 units in March 2022, down from 9,693 units sold in March 2021. Share percentage stood at 14.16 percent. MoM sales improved 28.78 percent from 6,432 units sold in February 2022. The company is also readying the 2023 Bullet 350 that has been spied on test rounds. It does show off some feature upgrades while engine specs could also see some change.Royal Enfield Domestic Sales March 2022Third on the list of domestic sales was the Meteor 350 with sales of 6,589 units, down 37.82 percent as compared to 10,596 units sold in March 2021.Meteor 350 saw its MoM sales fall by 2.37 percent over 6,749 units sold in February 2022. Sales of Himalayan improved significantly on a YoY basis to 5,225 units which was an 80.30 percent growth from 2,898 units sold in March 2021. MoM sales also saw similar growth at 75.51 percent from 2,977 units sold in February 2022.RE Electra posted a YoY de-growth of 9.24 percent to 4,460 units in March 2022 even as its MoM sales improved 30.18 percent from 3,426 units sold in February 2022. The 650 Twins saw a 224.34 percent YoY growth to 1,226 units in March 2022, up from 378 units sold in March 2021. MoM sales however dipped 50.34 percent from 2,469 units sold in February 2022. RE 650 Twins commanded a top spot in the 500cc+ motorcycle space by a significant margin over the Ninja, CBR and Tiger 650.Royal Enfield Exports March 2022Exports increased both on YoY and MoM basis with the Himalayan, Classic 350 and 650 Twins commanding the list. Total exports in the past month stood at 9,200 units, up 56.33 percent over 5,885 units shipped in March 2021. MoM exports improved 30.96 percent from 7,025 units sold in February 2022. Himalayan exports stood at 3,476 units, up 87.18 percent from 1,857 units sold in March 2021. RE Himalayan commands a 37.78 percent share on the export list. MoM sales also improved 69.81 percent from 2,047 units shipped in February 2021.Royal Enfield Exports March 2022The second best model in the company lineup in terms of exports was Classic 350 with a 280.12 percent YoY growth to 2,581 units, up from 679 units sold in March 2021. MoM exports improved by 77.27 percent from 1,456 units sold in February 2022. Even as 650 Twins and Meteor 350 posted a YoY growth of 18.88 percent and 17.53 percent respectively to 2,097 units and 1,046 units, MoM exports fell by 3.94 percent and 21.88 percent over 2,183 units and 1,339 units sold in February 2022.
