New Himalayan will have better capabilities for highway cruising and extra torque for off-road environments. Expected to be launched next year, it has now been teased officially.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 TeasedRoyal Enfield and their MD have shared an interesting new video on their Instagram accounts today. At first glance, it looks like a Himalayan that is crossing river somewhere in Ladakh region. It does not take long for one to realize that it is not the Himalayan that is currently on sale. But something else. The video has the caption – Testing 1, 2, 3..Well, this is the first official teaser of the upcoming new Himalayan, that is popularly known as the Himalayan 450. Though the teaser only shows the front LED headlight, earlier test mules that were spotted in full camouflage, revealed design tweaks. These include changes to the headlamp cowl, windshield, front beak, fuel tank and side panels. Himalayan 450 has been equipped with a stubbier exhaust, as compared to that of current model.New Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 teasedVideo @royalenfield pic.twitter.com/1mNE045xZl— RushLane (@rushlane) August 22, 2022Things like front and rear luggage racks will be largely the same. There could be some slight variations in line with the bike’s profile. In terms of functionality, the luggage racks could be made stronger to boost their load carrying capacity. Step-up split seats look familiar, so does the rear tail section.Ride ergonomics appears more or less the same, even though there could be some changes to the positioning of the handlebar and footpegs. Being an all-terrain bike, it’s a tad difficult for designers to balance the needs of highway cruising and off-road tracks. Himalayan has witnessed continuous improvements over the years and riding comfort can be expected to be better with the new 450cc model.Himalayan 450 engine and specsPowering new Himalayan will be a 450cc engine, capable of generating close to 40 bhp of max power and 45 Nm of peak torque. This makes it a more powerful machine, as compared to the likes of KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS. In its current form, Himalayan produces a modest 24.3 bhp and 32 Nm. Another key update will be a 6-speed transmission, replacing the existing 5-speed unit.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Side ViewEquipped with USD forks at front, new Himalayan 450 will have better handling and control at high speeds. At rear, the bike will have monoshock suspension. Riding on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels, new Himalayan 450 will be dimensionally similar to the current model.Braking system will have disc brakes at both ends, integrated with dual-channel ABS as standard. As compared to manually switchable ABS offered with current Himalaya, the new model will have automatic function. Rear ABS will be switched off automatically as soon as the user selects off-road ride mode. There will be other ride modes as well such as road and rain.Other key updates will include features like ride-by-wire throttle. Heated grips could also be offered as an option. This will come handy when riding in cooler climes. Users will also be able to choose from multiple options for handlebar and handguards. Debut is likely to take place at EICMA 2022 in November this year, while launch can happen in H1 2023. A Scram version is also in the making. More

2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 450 – Side, Rear View Spied

Just like Scram 411 and its ADV sibling, Royal Enfield Scram 450 will share most of the equipment list with upcoming Himalayan 450Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Scram SpiedLaunching Scram 411, a road-friendly version of Himalayan, was a good strategy to target users with limited off-roading needs. Scram 411 also works for folks who just want an adventure-style bike for their urban commutes. Another plus for Scram 411 is its affordable price in comparison to Himalayan. As Royal Enfield is developing a more capable version of Himalayan, it is natural that its Scram version will also be launched. While Himalayan 450 will use the extra power to conquer more challenging trails, Scram 450 will utilize it for faster acceleration and higher top speeds on wide open roads. Although both bikes will have the same engine, there could be small tweaks in tuning to suit Scram 450’s urban scrambler profile.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 450 SpiedRetro theme is clearly evident in features such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors and tear-drop shaped fuel tank. Scram 450 is likely to get a circular instrument pod. Tripper navigation could be available as an optional feature. The bike has bare minimum body panelling, which will make it lighter than Himalayan 450. It also ensures a sporty look and feel.A test mule of Himalayan 450 spotted recently was seen with dedicated racks close to the fuel tank. In the case of Scram 450, luggage carrying equipment won’t be a standard feature. Being lighter, Scram 450 will have a higher power to weight ratio.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Scram SpiedEven with a long wheelbase, Himalayan Scram 450 can be seen deftly negotiating the busy city streets. Making it possible are features such as low seat height and raised, pulled-back handlebars. Riding stance is quite comfortable with scooped up seat and centrally placed footpegs.Other key features of Scram 450 include sharp turn signals, fork gaiters, telescopic forks, engine bash plate, monoshock rear suspension and sporty tail section. The bike has disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard. Wide rear tyre should help improve safety at high speeds, when braking and across slippery conditions.Scram 450 performanceScram 450 will be utilizing the same engine as that of upcoming Himalayan 450. One of the key reasons for developing a 450cc version of Himalayan is to fix performance limitations, as pointed out by hardcore off-road enthusiasts. Himalayan 411 makes 24.3 bhp of max power and 32 Nm of peak torque, which is significantly less than KTM 390 Adventure that churns out 43.5 PS and 37 Nm. Royal Enfield will be looking to bridge this gap in performance with Himalayan 450 model. While Himalayan 450 is expected to debut around Q1, CY23, Scram 450 will be launched a few months later. It will be more affordable, priced likely at around Rs 2.60 lakh. In comparison, Himalayan 450 could be offered at a starting price of Rs 2.80 lakh. With lower pricing, Scram 450 could miss out on features such as GPS navigation, ride-by-wire tech and ride modes. These features are likely to be offered with Himalayan 450.Source More

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Is No 1 Motorcycle In The UK – Above 125cc

Meteor 350 has been the flag bearer for RE motorcycles based on the modern J-Series platformModified Royal Enfield MeteorRoyal Enfield has been synonymous with retro and classic motorcycles that evoke a certain nostalgia. Especially in India where most people buy an Enfield because their family used to own one or they aspired to own one. Other brands have tried to create this sense of nostalgia that RE evokes, but have not managed so far.Meteor 350 was an important launch by the Chennai-based company. Before Meteor 350, Royal Enfileds got UCE engines that were notorious for their spine-shattering vibrations. Since Meteor 350 launched in 2020, Royal Enfield has introduced a new J-series engine that gets overhead cams and balancer shafts for a vibe-free experience. Now Royal Enfield has launched Hunter 350 which is priced at a lower price segment than Meteor 350. But how does Meteor 350 fare in international markets? Let’s find out.Royal Enfield Meteor 350 UK SalesRoyal Enfield bikes are made in Chennai. It is from here they are sold across India, and also across various global markets like Europe, North America and more. The brand is also well known in Britain too. Meteor 350 was on sale in Britain and has achieved something remarkable. From January 2022 to July 2022, Royal Enfield Meteor 350 UK Sales stood at 1,135 units in Britain. While doing so, it has become the best-selling motorcycle in the above 125cc segment.Meteor 350 has appealed to 1,135 British people in the course of seven months and while doing so, dethroned BMW R 1250 GS ADV which had been in that spot for a very long time. Hero Splendor is standing over there in the corner, flexing that it can sell more bikes than that in the business hours of a single day in India. While Meteor 350 took 7 months to do so in Britain. That’s not the point, but okay.New Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Supernova RedRoyal Enfield has been ecstatic about this achievement in Britain. They have established a strong global presence with models like Himalayan, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Meteor has been on sale in most global markets since 2021 and has been making Royal Enfield retro classic charm more accessible to a wider audience.Specs & PriceRoyal Enfield Meteor 350 is powered by the modern JD1 engine that also does duty on other 350 cc bikes like Classic 350, Hunter 350 and will also power the upcoming Bullet 350. It is a modern and potent engine that displaces 349 cc and gets modern features like oil cooling and finally getting rid of pushrods in favour of a smoother SOHC setup. This engine makes 20.4 PS at 6100 RPM and 27 Nm at 4000 RPM. Meteor 350 comes with disc brakes at both fronts tied with a dual-channel ABS system and weighs 191 kg. Even though Meteor 350 is also very popular in India, Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the highest-selling classic bike in India. It is a cruiser and hence also gets cruising-friendly accessories fitted as standard in higher variants. Royal Enfield Meteor 650cc Spied – Massive Street Presence

With its comfy ergonomics and heavyweight profile, Meteor 650 looks ready for effortless cruising on wide open roadsRoyal Enfield Meteor 650cc SpiedKeeping its promise of introducing an average of 4 new/updated products every year, Royal Enfield has already launched Scram 411 and Hunter 350 this year. While Scram 411 was launched in March at a starting price of Rs 2.03 lakh, Hunter 350 was launched earlier this month at a starting price of Rs 1.50 lakh. Hunter is currently the most affordable motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s portfolio. As 350cc and 400cc segments have been covered with these new products, the next launch could be in the 650cc segment. Most likely possibility is Meteor 650, which has been spotted in production ready format. October seems to be an apt time for Meteor 650 launch, as this period marks the peak of the festive season. The bike could be launched at a starting price of around Rs 3.35 lakh.Royal Enfield Meteor 650 SpiedWhile the ‘Haathi Mat Palo’ campaign tried its best to influence popular perceptions, it appears that the elephant doesn’t really care. And if sales data is any indication, it seems the least impacted by attempts at body shaming. The journey continues with Meteor 650 that has huge proportions and seems to dwarf most other two-wheelers in the vicinity. Especially when the streets here are largely populated with entry-level commuter scooters and motorcycles. Take a look at the latest spy video of Royal Enfield Meteor 650 which was shared on Rushlane Spylane by Gokul Raju.[embedded content][embedded content]While Meteor 650’s massive size may be a constraint across busy city streets, it will be real fun to ride on highways and open roads. The bike looks pretty heavy, which should be able to support high-speed cruising of 100-120 kmph and above. Making it possible will be components such as USD front forks, dual rear shock absorbers and wide block pattern rear tyre for optimal traction. The bike has disk brakes at both ends, integrated with dual-channel ABS as standard. And then, there’s the powerful 648cc air/oil-cooled parallel twin motor that does duty on Interceptor and Continental GT. It generates 47 hp of max power at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. It is possible that the engine may be tweaked slightly in line with requirements of Meteor 650.Meteor 650 design highlightsMeteor 650 has a retro profile with features such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors, tear-drop shaped fuel tank and circular tail lamp. Riding stance is fairly comfortable with centrally placed footpegs and ergonomically placed wide handlebar. Rider seat section has a scooped up profile, which seems perfect for long journeys.Seat height is around the same as that of 650 twins, approx. 800 mm, which should allow optimal control and handling. Other key features include rugged crash guard, wide pillion seat, minimal body panelling, thick exhaust pipes and broad rear mudguard. A number of customization options will be available via Royal Enfield’s Make It Yours (MIY) personalization platform. More

2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber Render – In 7 New Colours

Royal Enfield has plans to launch multiple new motorcycles based on their 350cc platform – Bobber 350 is one of them2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber RenderRoyal Enfield already has a single-seater option on the Classic 350. You must be thinking that’s it, right? That’s the Classic 350 Bobber. No. As the name suggests, it is just a single-seater variant of the Classic 350. A bobber is not a cruiser motorcycle with the back seat removed. It is much more than that.Royal Enfield has plans to launch a proper bobber based on their new Classic 350. It is expected to arrive in the showroom sometime next year. Ahead of that, here is a render version of the same. Please note that this Classic 350 Bobber Render is a work of imagination and has not been commissioned or approved by Royal Enfield.Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber RenderThis reimagined Classic 350 Bobber is digitally created by our rendering artist Pratyush Rout. A lot of thought process goes into creating a bobber motorcycle. In the render, you can see that the wheelbase has been extended quite a bit more than the standard Classic 350.The ground clearance is lowered to give the rider that low-slung riding position. The handlebar is raised too. And then the leather-wrapped, coil spring suspended single-seat adorns the total look of the motorcycle.2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber RenderThe Vintage Red colour gives the motorcycle that mandatory old-world charm. How can we talk about a Royal Enfield motorcycle without mentioning its curvaceous body panels? It’s like peanut butter without peanuts. The sculpted metallic fuel tank in the render is a little different from the Classic 350 cruiser. This redesigned fuel tank gives the motorcycle that bobber feel. The render also gets bar-end rear view mirrors finished in black. The engine compartment gets a blacked-out finish to give a sporty appeal. The Classic 350 Bobber render also gets some side body panels. No more, no less. Just the right amount. The render also gets a chrome-finished exhaust tip to add to the panache of the Bobber motorcycle.Finishing off the old world charm are the round headlights and round tail lights with chrome surround, round indicators and round instrument cluster. 2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber also gets the tripper display to handle navigation and phone connectivity.2023 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Bobber RenderEngine and SpecsThe render also gets a telescopic front suspension like the Classic 350 cruiser. The rear twin shocks have been replaced with a center-mounted rear mono-shock unit. The Classic 350 Bobber render gets the same J-Series engine displacing 349 cc and developing 20.2 bhp of power @6100 RPM and 27 Nm of torque @4000 RPM.The Classic 350 cruiser motorcycle weighs 195 kg and the Bobber could weigh around the same. The cruiser motorcycle in production also gets spoked wheels at the front and back which our Bobber render also retains. The Bobber also carries over the front and rear disc brakes equipped with dual-channel ABS.[embedded content][embedded content]Bobber motorcycles usually come with smaller tyres both at the front and back and our render reflects the same. Considering the revisions and the changes to the motorcycle, it is very logical to assume that the Classic 350 Bobber render can be around Rs 30,000 dearer than the Classic 350. There are multiple reports about the possibility of a Classic 350 Bobber launch in 2023. If the Bobber motorcycle looks anything like our rendering artist imagined, we’re in for a treat. More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Side View Detailed – New Spy Shots

Himalayan 450 will get a larger 450cc engine which will make more power and torque to compete with the 390 AdventureRoyal Enfield Himalayan 450 Side View. Image – Motorcycle NewsRoyal Enfield has been developing the Himalayan 450 for quite some time now. New motorcycle will stay true to the precedent set by its 411cc sibling. It will be marketed as an adventure tourer in India competing with BMW G310GS and KTM 390 Adventure. After the exhaust design was spied a few days back, new spy shots reveal side view. The updates expected on the Himalayan 450 will make it even more capable off-road and even more relaxed on-road. In latest spy shots from the UK by Motorcycle News, we can see that the new motorcycle gets significantly broader seats to accommodate riders of all frames and sizes.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – New Spy ShotsIt is also expected to get comfier cushioning to give riders more support and comfort. This will also make sure that riders can ride farther on one stretch before needing to take a break further aiding Himalayan 450’s touring abilities.Rider’s triangle also seems to be better than Himalayan 411. This will aid the rider in daily commutes and as well as highway runs. Pillion seat looks like an upgrade too as it looks broader and better cushioned in comparison to Himalayan 411. The pillion will also appreciate the placement of the rear footpegs and big grab handle beneath them.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spied in the UKHimalayan will get a bigger 450cc single-cylinder petrol engine with an overhead camshaft. It will get oil cooling. It is expected to make more power and more torque than Himalayan 411. This will make it an even worthy opponent to the likes of KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G310GS. The engine might be coupled to a brand new 6-speed transmission instead of the 5-speed unit on Himalayan 411.The motorcycle will get spoked wheels at the front and rear. Wheels are expected to be 21” at front and 17” at the rear like Himalayan 411. Ground clearance on the newer model seems to be higher. This might be due to beefier forks with longer suspension travel. Final production version of Himalayan 450 will be slightly bigger than the outgoing Himalayan 411 and is also expected to weigh a little more due to the bigger engine.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 FeaturesHimalayan 450 will get tubular frames at front and rear to hold luggage, panniers and jerry cans. It will also get a new vertically mounted instrument cluster which will easily fall in rider’s peripheral vision. Other expected features on the bigger Himalayan include, dual-channel switchable ABS, slip and assist clutch, some kind of riding modes with different throttle maps, GPS navigation on the instrumentation and maybe even ride-by-wire to make the throttle response better. In the video below, we can see the Himalayan 450 on test in India.[embedded content][embedded content]The Himalayan will come with off-road specific features too. Even though Royal Enfield hasn’t made it official, we can expect a robust suspension, capable engine, stiff chassis and durable components. Royal Enfield might even consider more off-road friendly components as an option at least as Hero does with its Xpulse 200 in the form of the Rally Kit. When launched, it will be a worthy competitor to the more road-biased KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G310GS and the upcoming Hero Xpulse 300. More

Royal Enfield Electric Motorcycle Launch Timeline Revealed By Sid Lal

Royal Enfield is currently the most popular Neo-Retro and Retro cruiser motorcycle manufacturer in IndiaRoyal Enfield Electric Motorcycle. File photo.Royal Enfield is on fire right now. Not literally, but yeah. Staying true to ‘four motorcycles a year’ strategy, the Chennai-based manufacturer has launched Scram 411, a new Classic 350 and the recently launched Hunter 350. We are yet to see another launch by Royal Enfield by the end of this year. But due to climate change and rising fuel costs, EVs are gaining a lot of traction even here in India too. Europe reckons that it can become carbon neutral by 2035. Looking at the old continent’s ambitious roadmap, other markets are also striving toward electrification including Indian EV market. Both car and motorcycle manufacturers alike are pledging towards an EV future.Royal Enfield Electric MotorcycleBut what about Royal Enfield? What is this legacy brand doing to meet the EV future? Which is inevitably going to happen, sooner or later. Eicher Motors CEO Siddhartha Lal has given subtle hints at the Hunter 350 launch event as to what kind of EVs may come out of Royal Enfield stables in the coming years. At Hunter 350 launch, there were discussions about Royal Enfield EVs. And Sid Lal mentioned that the very first Royal Enfield electric vehicle will be revealed in three to four years. I mean, it is not an exact timeline. But it is now evident that Royal Enfield is working on an EV or at least has a plan on its mind.Royal Enfield Electric – Private ModificationBut four years of development and waiting is a lot. And you might be wondering how hard it could be to import batteries from China and slap it on an existing Royal Enfield platform replacing its engine and calling it a day. Right? When speed is prioritized over quality, EV fire hazards happen as we have witnessed.Royal Enfield doesn’t make products this way. The British brand prioritizes reliability, good engineering and consistency. If we take a look at the recently launched Hunter 350, its development started way back in 2016, six years ago. Okay, we had Covid-19-related delays. But still, we can say that Hunter 350 took around four years to launch. What To Expect?Sid Lal mentioned that Royal Enfield is currently working on a few different projects, but nothing is final yet. Developing an EV to match the performance of their 350cc or 650cc platforms will be very expensive. Because batteries pack enough energy to make 20 to 30 bhp will be a lot. So, battery tech needs to improve significantly. Along with that, India should start manufacturing batteries here locally to reduce battery costs.Royal Enfield is in no hurry and will take their own sweet sweet time to roll out an EV that will be good, and also meet all expectations too. Be it looks, be it performance, be it range. We can expect Royal Enfield upcoming EVs to have around 100 to 150 km range from a single charge, and performance enough to match their 350cc portfolio. But sadly, we have to wait for years to get our hands on one.Source More
