Royal Enfield Himalayan 462cc Delivers 34 Hp – 129 Kmph Cruising Speed

A trusty off-roader, Himalayan gets all the better with tons of aftermarket components added in this customization projectRoyal Enfield Himalayan 462ccOn journeys that require both cruising and off-roading capabilities, one of the most affordable options is Royal Enfield Himalayan. Even for hardcore enthusiasts who may find Himalayan a bit lacking in performance, the bike doesn’t disappoint, as it can be easily upgraded owing to its simple architecture. In a recent example, YouTuber Motos Cades & Coffee has come up with some major modifications on his 2019 Himalayan. The bike has been upgraded to make the 1,000+ mile ride from Maryland (US) to Prince Edward Island (Canada) a lot more fun and comfortable. While Himalayan could have attempted this journey in its stock form, the upgraded customized version seems more apt for this trip.Royal Enfield Himalayan 462cc – 34 HP, 80 mph cruisingThis customization project focuses on achieving the best of both worlds, i.e., agility and high speed cruising power along with ample torque to conquer challenging off-road tracks. With the use of multiple aftermarket components, this customized Himalayan delivers around 34 horsepower. That’s a good 10 hp more than the stock version that makes 24.3 bhp and 32 Nm. This customized Himalayan could be pretty close to matching the performance of upcoming Himalayan 450.List of upgrades using aftermarket components is pretty long. It must have taken several days for getting everything up and running in a synchronized manner. Modified Himalayan has already been taken on road tests and performance is way better than the stock version.[embedded content][embedded content]Royal Enfield Himalayan 462cc can quickly reach cruising speed of 80 miles per hour (129 kmph) and sustain that without any issues. The bike will be put to even more gruelling tests to find its ultimate endurance limit.Upgrades for 34hp HimalayanA number of components come from Hitchcocks Motorcycles, for example, 462 cc Big Bore Kit, performance camshaft and Straight Flow Air Intake. The big bore kit comprises a new, larger cylinder barrel with English made forged piston. It is designed to fit Himalayan’s crankcase and does not require any machining. What the big bore kit essentially does is that it converts the stock 411 cc Himalayan to 462 cc.Hitchcocks performance camshaft works to maximise performance, all while remaining within the limits of standard ECU parameters. It is available for both Himalayan as well as Scram. For bikes with carburettor, the performance camshaft may require some manual fine tuning. Other upgrades for the bike include K&N Open Air element filter that has been used in combination with Hitchcocks Straight Flow Air Intake. These allow improved air flow, which in turn boosts performance.Another key upgrade is Powertronic custom and tuneable ECU system. It delivers a range of benefits such as smooth power delivery, quicker throttle response and enhanced power output. Powertronic ECU has been dyno-tested for delivering increased power output of 3-5 bhp. Other modifications include Powertronic FuelX Autotune Pro, PowerRage slip-on exhaust, heavy duty clutch and clutch springs, 15-tooth front sprocket and heavy duty DID chain and rear sprocket. More

Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350 Is A Thunderbird 350 Modified – Looks Mean

Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 is the predecessor of Meteor 350 that is currently on sale in various global marketsRoyal Enfield Kaptan 350cc By Neev MotorcyclesNeev Motorcycles is a custom bike building company and has a history of building beautiful works of art. The custom motorcycle company mostly works on classic bikes and is very well known in India. In July 2022, Neev even built a custom Royal Enfield Classic 350 and called it Divine. This was done under Custom World initiative from Royal Enfield. But now, Neev motorcycles has pulled off another custom job and this one is called Kaptaan. This is not commissioned by Royal Enfield like Divine was. Instead, this was commissioned by a private owner of a Thunderbird 350. What Neev Motorcycles have been able to pull off, is really a piece of art. Let’s take a look.Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350Even though the pictures might suggest that it was based on a Meteor 350, it is actually based on a Thunderbird 350. I mean, Meteor 350 is the successor of Thunderbird 350 and retains its basic silhouette and cruiser stance. Neev Motorcycles has kept most of the cycle parts identical to stock donor bike.Even its engine hasn’t been fiddled with. Along with its engine, front telescopic suspension forks, rear dual shock absorbers, front and rear disc brakes and other braking hardware has been kept similar to stock Thunderbird 350 by Royal Enfield.Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350 Custom Side ProfileWhat is changed with Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350 are a lot of custom-built parts by Neev like front and rear fenders, a beautifully crafted fuel tank, a side tool box finished in chrome, a custom air box, carburetor covers, front fork covers and custom bobber leather seats with diamond quilting pattern.Other custom parts include a longer than stock swingarm, a wider handlebar along with bar-end mirrors, a custom stubby exhaust finished in black, a CNC machined wide triple tree, lathe machined axels and spacers, and handlebar risers. The main highlight of Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350 is that it gets a removable rear subframe. Also, an additional seat for a pillion.Modded PartsNeev Motorcycles has also sourced a few components from aftermarket offerings. Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350 now gets an aftermarket LED headlight. Thunderbird 350 got a projector setup but had halogen bulbs in them. Stock LED taillamps have been swapped with round after-market LEDs. Handlebar grips, digital speedometer, and rear tyre hugger are also sourced from outside.Royal Enfield Kaptan 350cc By Neev MotorcyclesKaptaan 350 gets a glossy grey finish on its fuel tank, fenders, and carburetor covers. While rest of the bike is finished in black to give it a menacing and clean look at the same time. We’ve saved the best for last and that is its wheels and tyres. With 140/90-R15 tyres wrapped around black alloy wheels, gives Royal Enfield Kaptaan 350 its muscle. These tyres are Speed Blaster from Ralco that comes with a unique cross-pattern that almost gives it a scrambler look. With fatter tyres at both ends, Kaptaan 350 even looks like a Harley from a distance. It is one of the prettiest custom builds we have ever seen that is based on a Royal Enfield Thunderbird. More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spied With Adventure Panniers

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ADV comes across as an impressive rally-raid machine that will surely have better capabilities than Himalayan 411Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Touring Accessories SpiedConsidering Royal Enfield’s new-gen products such as Hunter and upcoming 450 ADV, it’s clear that the Chennai-based manufacturer is upping its game in a big way. Like Bajaj, Royal Enfield may also have plans for a much larger footprint in global markets. RE has promised an average of one new product every quarter and things seem to be going as per plans. While Himalayan 411cc has its merits, it lacks the numbers when compared to rivals like KTM 390 Adventure. The latter has 44 bhp, as compared to a modest 24.3 bhp of Himalayan. Even in actual ride conditions, users have pointed to Himalayan’s limitations when it comes to negotiating steeper inclines in slippery conditions. All such issues are set to be resolved with Royal Enfield 450 ADV.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 PanniersRelative to Royal Enfield’s standard design language, this new ADV bike has a radically different profile. There’s hardly any resemblance to Himalayan, which is likely to be intentional. RE may want to protect this 450 ADV from any type of known inadequacies associated with its predecessor. Retro flavour stands reduced, limited to features like round headlamp and circular instrument dial.Considering its largely unkempt profile, it is apparent that the bike will be getting some more skin and refinements as it nears production stage. Some key features include a muscular tank, front racks, split seat design and compact exhaust. While the test mule spotted does not have a bash plate, the production variant is most likely to get one.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Touring Accessories SpiedOne of the biggest updates is USD front forks, a first for a Royal Enfield motorcycle. At rear, the bike has monoshock mounted on the right side. It links the swingarm to the central frame located under the fuel tank. Rear suspension is expected to have preload adjustability. It appears to have long travel for handling the most gruelling off-road tracks.Things that are similar to Himalayan include 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels. The bike has disc brakes at both ends and dual-channel switchable ABS is likely to be offered as standard. Riding ergonomics look quite comfortable and low seat height will ensure optimal balance and handling. Latest spy shots show the new Himalayan 450 wearing touring accessories – metal panniers.Royal Enfield 450 ADV performanceEngine deployed is a compact, single-cylinder unit. This one has liquid cooling and the engine head leans forward at an angle. Engine of other single-cylinder Royal Enfield bikes have an upright head. While specs are yet to be revealed, Royal Enfield 450 ADV can be expected to match or narrow the performance gap with rivals like 390 Adventure, BMW G310GS and upcoming Hero Xpulse 300.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Touring Accessories SpiedIn line with its rally-raid profile, Royal Enfield 450 ADV can get features such as assist and slipper clutch, GPS navigation, ride modes and ride-by-wire system. Customization options will also be available, as the bike has significant scope for enhancing its capabilities with a range of accessories.Source More

RE Hunter 350 Stunt Capabilities Showcased – 360 Spin, Wheelie

As compared to other 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycles, Hunter 350 has a compact, nimble-footed profileRoyal Enfield Hunter 350 Stunt CapabilitiesTwo-wheeler manufacturers have often used stunts to highlight superior capabilities of their bikes. Some examples include Bajaj Auto, Yamaha motorcycles and more recently Ola Electric. Also fun to watch are stunts performed by amateurs and enthusiasts, who can be as creative as they want without getting restricted by any ethical concerns. In a recent video, a Hunter 350 user can be seen performing some signature stunt moves with the bike. It includes 360 degree spin and wheelie. While these manoeuvres may be quite basic, especially for a professional, what makes it worth watching is the limited space in which the stunts have been performed. What makes Hunter 350 so agile? As compared to other 350cc Royal Enfield motorcycles, Hunter 350 has a shorter wheelbase of 1,370 mm. It is also lightweight, with an unfuelled kerb weight of around 169 kg. The twin-downtube spine frame utilizes a compact design, which makes the bike a lot more maneuverable across busy city streets. 17-inch wheels work to enhance the bike’s agile character. Seat height of 800 mm ensures a low centre of gravity, which helps ensure optimal control and handling of the bike.A comfortable riding stance and advantageous rake angle are other factors that improve the bike’s capabilities. Topping it all is the powerful 349.34 cc motor that churns out 20.2 bhp of max power at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Being lightweight, Hunter 350 has a higher power to weight ratio in comparison to other 350cc Royal Enfield bikes with the same engine. There is ample torque, as is required for performing wheelies and donuts.[embedded content][embedded content]Hunter 350 has intuitive throttle response, which ensures quick acceleration. This is clearly evident in the video, as the bike can be seen achieving fast speeds in a limited space of just around 10 meters. The stunts are performed by Faraz Stunt Rider who is a professional stunt rider as well as a motorcycle stunt trainer.Braking setup seems to be just right, as it’s a key requirement for performing such types of stunts. Hunter 350 has 300 mm fixed disc with twin piston floating calliper at front and 270 mm disc, single piston floating calliper at rear. Dual-channel is offered as standard.Safety gear missingWhile the stunts look super smooth, the only safety gear being used is a half face helmet. Hands, elbows, torso, legs and knees are completely exposed, which increases the risk of serious injury. OEMs often have had to face criticism for their stunt advertisements, even when it was clearly stated that the stunts are performed by professionals in a controlled environment and with all safety precautions and adequate safety gear.People try to copy such stunts as it looks all too easy, not realizing the amount of practice required to perform such manoeuvres. It is strongly recommended that users don’t copy such moves, as there could be adverse consequences. More

RE Bobber 650, Himalayan 450 Spied Together – Cruising At 100+ Kmph

New products like Bobber 650 and Himalayan 450 will help Royal Enfield maintain its dominance in middleweight motorcycle segmentRoyal Enfield Bobber 650 and Himalayan 450 spied togetherEven with more than 85% market share in middleweight segment, Royal Enfield doesn’t seem to be infected by a complacency bug. On the contrary, the Chennai-based manufacturer is working aggressively by launching new products at regular intervals. This approach has become all the more necessary with availability of new rival products such as those launched by the likes of Honda, Jawa, Yezdi and TVS. In the future, Royal Enfield is likely to face new challengers from Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj as well.Over the next five years, Royal Enfield will be launching an average of one new product every quarter. Things seem to be going as per plans so far, as Scram 411 and Hunter 350 have already been launched this year. Other upcoming Royal Enfield bikes include Himalayan 450 and Bobber 650, which were recently spotted on road test by happinessperkm.Himalayan 450 featuresHimalayan 450 has undergone some major transformations, helping achieve a design that’s a lot more pleasing to the eyes. As compared to the sharp profile used for Himalayan 411, new Himalayan has a more rounded appearance. While Himalayan 411 is hard to miss on the streets, new Himalayan 450 has a more agreeable design that can easily blend in the crowded streets.Another key change can be seen in the design of racks, which also get a rounded appearance. Rear racks seem to be missing on the test mule, which indicates that some of these components could be made optional. They could be offered as an accessory via the company’s MIY personalization platform. It makes sense, as not everyone may be planning long-distance touring on Himalayan 450.[embedded content][embedded content]Other changes that are evident include new fuel tank design, single-piece saddle, compact exhaust and longer front beak. Retro bits are largely the same such as round headlamp and rear view mirrors and wire-spoke wheels. Most significant upgrade will be the new 450cc motor, which is likely to generate around 40 bhp of max power and 45 Nm of peak torque.Bobber 650 featuresFor wide open roads, Royal Enfield Bobber 650 seems like the perfect cruising machine. Its large size exudes powerful vibes and the bulk keeps it firmly planted on the tarmac. Even when cruising at high speeds, absolutely no turbulence or vibrations are noticeable. Some key features of Bobber 650 include round headlamp and rear view mirrors, classic tear-drop shaped fuel tank, single-piece seat, dual chrome exhaust, broad rear mudguard and circular tail lamp and turn signals.Bobber 650 is equipped with dual instrument dials, something similar to that of Meteor 350. The smaller unit on the right is likely to be Tripper navigation screen. The bike has a comfortable riding stance with pulled back handlebar and forward-set footpegs. USD forks at front will make the rides a lot safer. While the test mule does not have a visor, it could be offered as an accessory.Powering Bobber 650 will be the 648cc parallel twin motor that makes 47.5 PS and 52 Nm. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed transmission. It is possible that some engine retuning may be done in line with Bobber 650’s cruising needs. The bike is expected to be launched at a price of around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh. More
