New Royal Enfield 650cc Official Teaser – Astral, Celestial, Interstellar

Royal Enfield new 650cc bike will make its global debut at upcoming EICMA; launch expected next yearNew Royal Enfield 650cc TeaserEarlier this year in February, Royal Enfield had registered the Constellation word mark. Latest teaser reveals a partial image of a new bike against the backdrop of a starlit sky, which hints towards the Constellation nameplate. Use of words like Astral, Celestial and Interstellar further corroborates that possibility. Though these same teaser words also point to the name Super Meteor.Royal Enfield has been testing multiple 650cc bikes including a cruiser, a 650cc Classic, a 650cc bobber and a scrambler. A faired 650cc bike was also spotted recently, which could be launched as Conti GT 650R. It was being speculated earlier that the first of new 650cc bikes could be Super Meteor 650. However, the Constellation name seems more probable now.Royal Enfield Constellation featuresNew 650cc Constellation will continue using the signature retro styling, as seen with other Royal Enfield bikes. As revealed in spy shots, the bike has a strong street presence. Some of the key highlights include round headlamp and rear-view mirrors, curvy fuel tank, new 3D badging and graphics, offset instrument cluster, twin exhaust, broad rear fender and circular tail lamp.It is fairly evident that the bike will be heavy, which should allow it to cruise effortlessly across wide open roads. It seems suitable for long journeys with its ergonomically positioned handlebar and centrally mounted foot pegs. The bike has a scooped rider seat section, which should provide adequate lumbar support. It also helps lower centre of gravity, ensuring improved control and handling. It will allow even shorter users to manoeuvre the bike easily.New Royal Enfield 650cc TeaserAlthough Royal Enfield bikes are not tech-heavy, there could be some new possibilities in case of Constellation. Tripper navigation could be offered as standard or it could be made an optional feature. It remains to be seen if Constellation will be getting a dedicated Bluetooth-based connectivity platform.Royal Enfield Constellation specsPowering Royal Enfield Constellation will be the 648cc parallel-twin motor that does duty on Continental GT and Interceptor. Engine performance numbers could be tweaked to suit Constellation’s profile. Onboard the twins, the engine churns out 47 bhp of max power at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. It is mated to a constant mesh 6-speed gearbox. It is possible that Constellation could get USD forks at front. It will improve control and handling while braking at high speeds. At rear, the bike will have twin shock absorbers. Test mules have been spotted with broad rear tyre, which also enhances the bike’s cruising capability. Constellation is expected to have a 19-inch wheel at front and 17-inch wheel at rear. It will have disc brakes at both ends, integrated with dual-channel ABS.Royal Enfield Constellation Name Trademark FiledRoyal Enfield Constellation could be launched at a price of around Rs 3 lakh to Rs 3.5 lakh. It will rival the likes of Kawasaki Vulcan S and upcoming Yezdi 650cc bike. In international markets such as UK, it will take on BSA Gold Star 650, among others. More

Meteor 650 Teased Officially – Will Be Revealed On Nov 8th

The same engine as Conti GT and Interceptor 650 will be offered – Meteor 650 teased officiallyMeteor 650 teased officiallyWith spy shots popping up every now and then, Royal Enfield seems to be under limelight all the time. We can’t blame them, though, as they’re prepping up 8 motorcycles to launch. You heard that right. 8! To list them all out, we have seen test mules of new-gen Bullet 350, Scram 450, Himalayan 450, Continental GT-R 650, Continental GT 650 facelift with alloy wheels, Meteor 650/Thunderbird X 650, Shotgun 650 and Scram 650.Out of breath already? Fret not. Royal Enfield is taking it slow to get these on the road officially. Meteor 650 teased officially is the first among these to come on stage. Speaking of stage, Meteor 650 will be unveiled at 2022 EICMA set to happen in Milan on November 8th.Meteor 650 Teased OfficiallyMost of the design is already revealed by innumerous spy shots. Despite that, Royal Enfield has only teased the rear section of Meteor 650. It gets a circular LED tail light that sits alone as its turn indicators are housed on either side of its rear number plate. This is exactly identical to Meteor 350.From the teaser, we can look at its curvaceous fuel tank that gracefully merges into the seat. A round offset instrument cluster is also visible in the teaser. This is the same analog-digital console that does duties on Meteor 350 too. Beside it, we get Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation display as well.Royal Enfield Meteor 650cc SpiedThis tripper screen is likely to be an add-on. That being said, there’s a possibility that it would be standard fitment considering the expected Rs. 3.25+ lakh pricing. Another interesting development that can be extracted from Meteor 650 teased officially is its rear tyre. Which is Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp. We say it is interesting because test mules spotted in India were shod with Ceat Zoom Cruz tyres. Maybe it is only the posters and show vehicles that get Pirelli rubber.Specs & FeaturesMeteor 650 will get front USD forks and additional braces to position the forks perfectly. These aren’t present on Meteor 350. Headlight unit in the latest spy shots looks slightly different. Maybe RE is giving LED headlights. Maybe not. What is sure, though, is its immense road presence. Haathi doesn’t mind showing its curves, one bit.Propelling this massive motorcycle is a 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47 bhp of power at 7,150 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 5,250 RPM. It is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. RE will slightly tweak this engine to suit a cruiser’s character.Logically, the only competitor for Meteor 650/Thunderbird X 650 is Kawasaki Vulcan S. After EICMA, Meteor 650 will likely debut in India at 2022 Rider Mania held at Goa between 18th and 20th of November. More

Royal Enfield Electric Motorcycle Testing Starts – 2025 Launch Plan

OEMs with cult following such as Royal Enfield face the big question regarding their acceptability in electric formatRoyal Enfield Conti GT 865 – Image for illustration purpose.Disruptive technologies have always been a challenge for established brands and something similar is happening in automotive space. EV tech is decades old, but it’s only now that it is gaining momentum and going mainstream. Most profound changes can be seen in two-wheeler segment that has witnessed multiple new EV brands launched over the last few years. Bestsellers in this space are startups and tech companies, which presents significant challenges for established OEMs like Royal Enfield.Royal Enfield electric bikeIn view of the inevitable shift to an EV ecosystem and related challenges, Royal Enfield has started testing its EV prototypes. These tests are being conducted at various locations across the globe. Investments have been made for creating dedicated infrastructure, as needed for testing electric two-wheelers. Royal Enfield has also been hiring relevant people for its technology centres located in India and UK.While it has stepped-up focus on developing its electric bikes, the first Royal Enfield electric motorcycle won’t be launched before 2025. That’s because the company wants to come up with a differentiated product offering. The brand is all about the joy of motorcycling and it has consistently delivered with a wide range of options in 350cc to 650cc segment. Royal Enfield naturally wants to achieve similar results when it comes to its EV range.Royal Enfield Electric Motorcycle. File photo.Working with partners and suppliers, Royal Enfield has the wherewithal to quickly launch an electric bike. However, that’s not the primary goal for the company. Royal Enfield is working to first understand what exactly are the requirements of buyers in EV space. It will allow the company to develop well-rounded products, just like its current range of petrol-powered motorcycles. Royal Enfield will develop multiple EV platforms to ensure a diversified portfolio of electric bikes.Although there’s limited info, expect the first of Royal Enfield electric bikes to have capabilities similar to that of a 250-300cc ICE bike. It will be suitable for city commutes. Electric cruisers and ADVs could be launched at a later date. However, if there’s any major breakthrough in battery technology in next two years, a longer-range product can also be considered.2k crore investmentWhile not much may be visible on the surface, the fact is that Royal Enfield is working proactively to develop its EV range. Evidence to that can be seen in PLI scheme application, wherein both Royal Enfield and its parent company Eicher Motors have indicated investments worth Rs 2,000 crore. These investments will be spread over a period of five years. Preference for PLI scheme shows that Royal Enfield is getting ready to play the numbers game in electric two-wheeler segment. While it is getting ready for EV space, Royal Enfield will continue to focus on ICE-based motorcycles. Some of the most awaited Royal Enfield bikes include Himalayan 450 and Super Meteor 650. A 650cc scrambler is also under development. More

New RE Scrambler 650cc Spied In India For The First Time

RE Scrambler 650cc will be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque, coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and slipper clutchRoyal Enfield 650cc Scrambler Spied In IndiaWe recently compiled a list of all the upcoming Royal Enfield motorcycles. There were 8 in total including a slew of motorcycles based on 350cc, 450cc and 650cc platforms. These include Bullet 350, Scram 450, Himalayan 450, Continental GT-R 650, Continental GT 650 Facelift, Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650 and lastly, Scrambler 650.Please note that these names are widely referred to by the automotive fraternity and are not finalised by Royal Enfield. Out of all the 8 upcoming motorcycles mentioned above, Scrambler 650 was the only one that was not yet papped in India. That is now changed as we finally got to see one under testing on our soil as well.RE Scrambler 650cc Spied In IndiaWith immense popularity revolving around Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform, there is always scope to expand. This potent 650cc platform is so popular that it is single-handedly heavy-lifting the 500cc+ segment for a long time now. Right now, this platform is found only on Interceptor 650, a cruiser and Continental GT 650, a cafe racer.Royal Enfield is expanding its 650cc portfolio to include multiple new body styles. At the same time, bettering its existing 650cc vehicles as well. Even though the test mule spotted in India is starkly similar to the one found testing abroad, there are differences evident upon closer inspection.Royal Enfield 650cc Scrambler Spied In IndiaThe round side body panel found in test mules abroad, is discarded in the test mule found in India. This is replaced with a more conventional side body panel that we see in Continental GT 650. Another major difference is the seat. Newer test mule spotted in India gets a visually different seat cover and seat shape as well.Specs & FeaturesEngine will be the same unit found on Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. However, Royal Enfield will tweak it to give a slightly different character to suit its Scrambler avatar. It is powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, this platform has smooth power delivery.Dual exhausts are given a miss in favour of a single unit. This requires a different exhaust header to reroute gases. Weight will definitely go down as one of its exhausts is removed. It gets round headlights, tail lights and blinkers. At first glance, tail lights seem to be taken from Meteor 350 and turn indicators from Hunter 350. Braking hardware is likely to be borrowed from existing 650 twins.Tyres are of block pattern owing to scrambler avatar. The main difference in cycle parts for RE Scrambler 650cc seems to be its USD forks at front and wheel sizes. It still retains wire-spoke wheels and the front one looks slightly larger than the rear wheel. Launch timeline is not yet revealed. But the test mule looks mostly production ready.Image Source More

Upcoming Royal Enfield Motorcycles 2023 – New Bullet, Himalayan, 650 Classic

Off all the upcoming Royal Enfield bikes mentioned above, Scram 650 is the only one that is not yet papped in IndiaUpcoming Royal Enfield Motorcycles – 650cc CruiserRoyal Enfield has come from strength to strength when it comes to sales. In September 2022, it absolutely dominated the 350cc and 500cc+ segments with very little of the pie left for rivals. Success like this, is always a scope to expand their portfolio to include new motorcycles across multiple segments. Let’s take a look at the known upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes.1. Bullet 350Most of Royal Enfield’s success is based on the foundation that is laid by Bullet 350. Being the OG of Royal Enfield’s endeavours in India, it is a name that doesn’t need an introduction. In fact, Bullet 350 name is more recognisable than its maker’s. Such is its fame. Bullet 350 will get a new J-Series engine, bringing it in line with other 350cc bikes in Royal Enfield stables.2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Render2. Scram 450Like Scram 411 is based on Himalayan, Scram 450 (rumoured) will be based on the new 450cc platform being cooked at Royal Enfield labs. This new platform is likely to spawn a host of other motorcycles if well received. In terms of tech, this will be better than 411cc platform and will supposedly feature a 6-speed gearbox and liquid cooling among others.3. Himalayan 450Just like Scram 450, Himalayan 450 will also be based on Royal Enfield’s upcoming 450cc platform. Unlike Scram 450, Himalayan 450 is papped with USD forks and other niceties. In terms of hierarchy, Himalayan 450 will sit above Scram 450. It is not yet known if Himalayan 450 will replace Himalayan 411. But it is prepping to rival Hero’s upcoming XPulse rumoured with a 400cc+ engine.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 – Render4. Continental GT-R 650Continental GT 650 is currently Royal Enfield’s sportiest and arguably, prettiest motorcycle as well. With the Cafe Racer charm, it is a very desirable motorcycle for many. To make it more sportier, Royal Enfield is likely to offer a bikini fairing to this bike inspired by the Continental GT Cup bike. This might be in the form of an official accessory or a separate model in itself.5. Continental GT 650 FaceliftFor everyone that still wants a Continental GT 650 without a fairing, fret not. Royal Enfield is preparing a facelift for this Cafe Racer. This facelift will feature a new circular taillight and most-requested alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. This will increase convenience and reduce the old-world charm that spoke wheels offer. Hey, you get some, you lose some. Balance!6. Super Meteor 650 / Classic 650This bike inherits the spirit of the company’s Thunderbird just like Meteor does. With this offering, Royal Enfield will take Meteor’s long-leggedness and offer mile-munching ability of its 650cc platform. Automotive fraternity is calling it Super Meteor as it is a Meteor, but super. There was a leak of Thunderbird X 650 name from Royal Enfield’s service booking webpage suggesting the name of its production model. Classic 650 is also likely.Royal Enfield Classic 650cc7. Shotgun 650Another 650cc offering from Royal Enfield, Shotgun 650 is the production version of SG650 concept from the British brand. Even though the production version is not as eyeball-magnet as its concept, it is utterly pretty. This is likely to be a bobber version of Super Meteor 650 / Thunderbird X 650 with different ergonomics.8. Scram 650Off all the upcoming Royal Enfield bikes mentioned above, Scram 650 is the only one that is not yet papped in India. It was spied on in the UK. Unique to Scram 650, we have a brand-new header pipe that routes exhaust gases through a single exhaust. This gets a scrambler-ish design language with minimal body panels. Name is not yet official. One can expect Scram 650 to be the lightest of Royal Enfield’s 650cc stablemates owing to its single exhaust. More

2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Render In New Colours – Launch Soon

Bullet 350 has remained a favourite since several decades owing to its rustic charm and ‘go anywhere’ capabilities2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderMarket leader in middleweight motorcycle segment, Royal Enfield is on a mission to refresh its 350cc portfolio. The first bike to get the all new platform and J-series engine was Meteor 350, launched in 2020. Last year, new-gen Classic 350 was launched and this year, we saw the launch of Hunter 350. Now, it’s Bullet 350’s turn to get the generation update.New-gen Bullet 350 stylingWhile there are some visual tweaks, new-gen Bullet retains much of its core character. Just like its predecessors, the bike’s striking road presence and bold attitude will continue to be a major draw for enthusiasts. Some of the key changes that have been seen on test mules include a new headlamp and taillamp. These are not very different from the ones used on new-gen Classic 350.Chrome highlights have been used liberally and they are around the same level as compared to existing Bullet. Chrome bits can be seen on the headlamp, turn indicators, fuel tank and rear view mirrors. The long chrome plated exhaust pipe is another feature that makes the bike hard to miss on the streets.Retro theme is largely the same as earlier, with features like round headlamp and turn indicators, classic tear-drop shaped fuel tank, old-school utility boxes on the side, broad rear mud guard and wire-spoke wheels. Based on the production-specs spy shots, Pratyush Rout has created digital renders of 2023 Bullet 350. Please note that these renders are work of an independent artist and not commissioned by Royal Enfield.2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderIt is possible that some new colour options can be introduced for new-gen Bullet 350. In its current form, standard Bullet is offered in colour options of Black, Onyx Black and Bullet Silver. Bullet ES (Electric Start) variant has more sprightly colour options such as Regal Red and Royal Blue.Riding ergonomics remains largely similar, although the single-piece saddle could get better quality foam for improved user experience. The bike has a wide, ergonomically placed handlebar for optimal comfort and minimal strain. Scooped out rider’s section of the seat ensures optimal comfort and control. Pillion seat section is long and wide and comes with grab rails for added convenience and safety.New-gen Bullet 350 engineNew-gen Bullet will be using the new 350cc platform, currently in use with Meteor and new Classic 350. The engine will be the new J-series unit that makes 20.2 bhp of max power and 27 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The existing 350cc engine delivers slightly less power at 19.1 bhp. However, torque is higher at 28 Nm.2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderDifference in power and torque numbers isn’t big enough to make any major difference in actual ride experience. Moreover, it is a fact that the new 350cc platform and engine have been able to significantly reduce vibrations. Users have reported much smoother rides on Meteor 350 and new Classic 350. These benefits will be available with new Bullet as well. More
