    Royal Enfield Sales Breakup Nov 2022 – Classic, Meteor, Himalayan, 650 Twins

    Royal Enfield has registered a YoY growth of 46.69 percent in domestic markets while exports dipped 26.64 percentImage – Bullet TowerRoyal Enfield continues to command the 350cc segment with models such as the Classic 350, Hunter 350, Meteor 350 and Bullet 350. It was these very bikes that drove sales of the company month after month. Nov 2022 sales report was not very different from previous months.Royal Enfield domestic sales in Nov 2022 stood at 65,760 units, up 46.69 percent over 44,830 units sold in Nov 2021. MoM sales on the other hand, dipped 14.07 percent from 76,528 units sold in Oct 2022. It was the RE Classic 350 that ruled the list with 26,701 units sold in the past month, up 36.23 percent YoY from 19,601 units sold in Nov 2021. This bike commands a 40.61 percent share in Nov 2022 while this share percentage stood at 41.54 in Oct 2022. MoM sales however, dipped 16.01 percent from 31,791 units sold in Oct 2022.Royal Enfield Sales Breakup Nov 2022The recently launched RE Hunter 350, the company’s most affordable offering at a starting price of Rs 1,49,900 (ex-showroom), has found its way to 2nd position on the sales list. Sales stood at 15,588 units in Nov 2022, a marginal MoM growth of 0.93 percent from 15,445 units sold in Oct 2022.It was followed by the Bullet 350 which posted a 5.98 percent YoY and 6.21 percent MoM degrowth to 8,211 units in Nov 2022. The company had sold 8,733 units and 8,755 units in Nov 2021 and Oct 2022 respectively. Despite de-growth, share percentage increased from 11.44 to 12.49 percent MoM.Royal Enfield Sales Nov 2022Sales increased YoY for the RE Meteor 350 by 919 units or 13.56 percent to 7,694 units in Nov 2022 from 6,775 units sold in Nov 2021. October 2022 sales had been at 10,353 units relating to a 25.68 percent MoM de-growth. In the 350cc segment, the company also has Electra 350 of which 4,170 units were sold last month, down 2.04 percent from 4,257 units sold in Nov 2021. MoM sales fell by 8.85 percent over 4,575 units sold in Oct 2022.There was also RE Himalayan and 650 Twins lower down the list, both of which posted YoY and MoM de-growth. Himalayan sales dipped 35.92 percent to 2,121 units last month from 3,310 units sold in Nov 2021 while in Oct 2022, sales had been at 3,751 units relating to a 43.46 percent MoM de-growth. 650 Twins also suffered 40.85 percent YoY and 31.43 percent MoM degrowth to 1,274 units in the past month. Despite this de-growth, it was these two models (Interceptor and Continental GT) that dominated the 500cc+ segment in Nov 2022, with a 77.97 percent market share.RE Exports Nov 2022Royal Enfield suffered lower exports both on YoY basis by 26.64 percent to 5,006 units from 6,824 units sold in Nov 2021. MoM sales fell 12.28 percent from 5,707 units shipped in Oct 2022. Globally, it was the Hunter 350 that commanded the most attention with 2,403 units shipped in Nov 2022. It was at 1,290 units in Oct 2022 relating to an 86.28 percent MoM growth. Share percentage increased from 22.60 percent held in Oct 2022 to 48.00 percent last month.Royal Enfield Exports Nov 2022RE Himalayan also posted positive sales in global markets to 1,041 units in Nov 2022, up 13.40 percent from 918 units shipped in Nov 2021. MoM sales growth was at 30.45 percent from 798 units exported in Oct 2022. Classic 350cc exports fell 39.20 percent YoY and 30.33 percent MoM to 836 units while 650 Twins exports dropped 80.24 percent YoY and 62.60 percent MoM to 374 units in Nov 2022. Similarly, Meteor 350 exports also fell 86.49 percent YoY and 75.19 percent MoM to 352 units. The Classic 500, of which the company had exported 33 units in Nov 2021 has since been discontinued. Latest custom project involves Himalayan Scram 411 that has been transformed into a Supermoto racing machine. Commissioned by Royal Enfield, this custom project has been executed by Germany-based Crooked Motorcycles. Images are credited to Bike Exif.Key objective of this project was to showcase the creative prowess of team Crooked. The challenge was to achieve an entirely new look, without losing out on the core character of Himalayan Scram 411. Moreover, everything needed to be done in a time period of just three weeks.Himalayan Scram 411 Supermoto – SuperScramCustom-made SuperScram has such an unconventional design that calling it radical will be an understatement. Much of the bike’s body panelling has been removed and replaced with custom-made panels. The primary choice of metal here is aluminium, which is easy to mill into the desired shape. Unlike stock Scram 411 that has a curvy fuel tank and body panelling, SuperScram has straight-cut panels with sharp profile.Some deep-level modifications were performed such as removal of subframe and replacing it with a custom bodywork. The stock fuel tank has been entirely removed and there’s a new custom fuel tank built under the seat. It comes with a snazzy pop-up filler cap. The underseat fuel reservoir not only helps achieve a sleek look and feel, but also lowers the bike’s centre of gravity.Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 CustomAt front, the bike has bright Supernova LED headlight. Tail lights are custom-made and placed in the lower section of rear fender. Parts like license plate, speedometer and turn signals are missing on purpose, as this is more of a display machine.SuperScram aftermarket upgradesWhile the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combo has been retained, SuperScram Supermoto gets Metzeler Sportec M9 tires. Scram 411 stock low-mounted fender has been replaced with a Husqvarna enduro unit. Suspension and braking apparatus have been retained, but the bike gets additional equipment such as Probrake levers and LSL handlebars. These help achieve a sportier look and feel.Other upgrades include short-stroke throttle, Biltwell Inc. grips and a CNC-machined start button seamlessly integrated into the bodywork. The saddle is another key highlight, which appears like a nano runway. The custom Alcantara seat stretches all the way from the steering head to the bike’s rear fender. It is functionally relevant though, as it allows easy movement of the rider. The bike gets a custom exhaust that runs parallel to the seat.Colour theme is predominantly black, with contrasting bits of yellow. The black shade comes in glossy finish across most parts. With a blank canvas to work on, a modder can get his vision down on a Royal Enfield and end up with a unique motorcycle. Royal Enfield motorcycles are very friendly to work on and change to extract different characters.One such modder, Okeasyshop, created a radical-looking Street Tracker motorcycle based on a newly launched Hunter 350. It gets a completely different face and looks a lot like an actual Street Tracker bike that Royal Enfield would have made. Let’s take a look.Hunter 350 Street TrackerStreet Tracker motorcycles are the ones that are track racers with just enough equipment on them to pass the regulations and be classified as street-legal motorcycles. Flat track racers are those motorcycles that take place on an unpaved track.This track is usually oval in shape and flat track racers don’t come with front brakes so racers could steer their vehicle with rear wheels. Street Trackers come with front brakes, though. To convert a stock Royal Enfield Hunter 350 into a street-legal Street Tracker, Okeasyshop has incorporated a lot of changes.RearFor starters, the headlight assembly is completely removed to incorporate a flat panel with some LEDs in them just to pass off as headlights. The LEDs are stacked vertically into two clusters that give the bike an alienist look. With the removal of headlight assembly, speedo is gone as well. It is shifted below the fuel tank towards its left facing upwards.This is done to keep the Hunter 350 Street Tracker looks without skimping on regulations. The stock handlebar is replaced by a taller one and front telescopic forks are replaced with USD forks finished in a golden shade. Viewing it from the right reveals a beautifully done custom exhaust that is upswept in its design.Custom Rear SubframeOther changes spotted are Nissin calipers to drop anchor better, a custom single-seat layout and an extremely minimal and tidy tail section. To mount this single-seat, Okeasyshop has modified the frame to have a bolt-on rear subframe. A custom rear subframe allowed the modder to also incorporate a monoshock instead of a dual shock absorber setup on a stock bike.SpeedoWith a free-flowing exhaust, Hunter 350 Street Tracker custom motorcycle is likely to perform a tad brisker than stock bike owing to weight savings. Stock Hunter 350 makes 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque from its 349cc engine. This mod was based on Hunter Metro variant and hence comes with alloy wheels. Recent test mules divulge further info on this upcoming RE Scram 650.RE Scram 650 Rear SubframeMechanically, upcoming scrambler by Royal Enfield is likely to be kept as is. A slight retune to suit a scrambler character is likely. This is a potent 648 cc parallel-twin engine that generates around 46 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch and oil cooling.The chassis on which Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform is based will undergo slight modification to suit different characters of intended variations. On Scram 650, Royal Enfield has modified its rear subframe which gives it that much-needed scrambler aesthetic. There is a single-seat setup, which gets a ribbed pattern cover.Royal Enfield Scram 650Seating posture is fairly upright with a neutral riding posture. Footpeg placement for rider seems to be slightly rear set which should add that sense of sportiness. Handlebars and instrumentation seem to be lifted off the recently launched Hunter 350. A tripper screen was not found on this test mule and might be made standard with production-spec model.Hardware ComponentsOne of the main highlights of this upcoming RE Scram 650 is its single exhaust. It gets a different exhaust header rerouting exhaust gases into one channel. This will reduce weight considerably and make the motorcycle peppier, which is a win-win situation. According to the report, this new exhaust packed a lot of bass and was slightly louder as well.In terms of componentry, Royal Enfield is offering front USD forks and LED headlights like the ones found on Super Meteor 650. There is exposed wiring that seems to be testing new LED turn indicators.Royal Enfield Scram 650RE Scram 650 still rides on spoked wheels which seem to be 17” in size. Wrapped to these wheels are block pattern tyres that should ensure slight trailing capability. Given Royal Enfield’s extensive testing, Scram 650 seems to be far from launch.     Royal Enfield sales have declined across the board in MoM analysis – including 350cc to 650cc, domestic and exportsRoyal Enfield 350cc Custom By EimorIf there is one two wheeler brand in India that has a monopoly in retro classic motorcycles, it is Royal Enfield. Manufacturers like Honda, Jawa and Yezdi have tried their hand at this segment and results haven’t been as fruitful.The brand’s 350cc portfolio includes bikes like Classic 350, Hunter 350, Meteor 350 and Bullet 350. These motorcycles drive sales unlike any other segment for Royal Enfield. This segment sold 65,956 motorcycles last month. In YoY analysis this segment performed very well as it grew 52.16% YoY as opposed to 43,346 units that it sold last year.Royal Enfield Sales Nov 2022Volume gain YoY for 350cc segment is 22,610 motorcycles and this segment commands 80.20% of Royal Enfield’s total manufacturing capacity. This used to be 91.15% in October 2022, just a month before. The 350cc segment had sold 74,828 motorcycles that month. MoM sales dropped by 11.86% with 8,872 motorcycles lost in volume.Royal Enfield 350cc YTD sales stood at 4,79,366 motorcycles, which grew by 65.90% YoY, as opposed to 2,88,956 motorcycles sold a year ago. Volume gained was 1,90,410 motorcycles YoY. Royal Enfield has its fair share of above 350cc bikes including Himalayan, Scram 411, Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650.Royal Enfield Sales Nov 2022This segment sold 4,810 units last month and sales dropped by 42.10% YoY and 35.06% MoM. Volume loss stood at 3,498 units YoY and 2,597 units MoM. YTD sales for this segment stood at 68,604 units as opposed to 53,898 units sold a year ago in the same period and gained 27.28% YoY. Royal Enfield is bringing new products like Himalayan 450, Scram 450, Super Meteor 650 to this segment to boost sales.In domestic market, Royal Enfield sold 65,760 units last month. When compared to 44,830 units sold a year ago and 76,528 units sold a month before, the domestic market registered 46.69% YoY growth and 14.07% MoM decline in sales. Volume gained YoY is 20,930 units and volume lost MoM is 10,768 units.Royal Enfield Exports Nov 2022YTD sales for domestic market stood at 4,82,997 units and grew 63.33% YoY. While doing so, the company gained 1,87,286 units in volume YoY. The British brand shipped 5,006 units overseas in November 2022. In contrast, 6,824 units were shipped last year and 5,707 units were shipped in October 2022.Royal Enfield registered 26.64% YoY decline and 12.28% MoM decline. Exports YTD stood at 64,973 units, up from 47,143 units sold a year before. Exports YTD grew by 37.82% YoY and gained 17,830 units in volume. In total, Royal Enfield sold 70,766 motorcycles in November 2022 and gained 37% YoY as opposed to 51,654 motorcycles sold in November 2021.Total sales dropped by 13.95% MoM due to 82,235 motorcycles sold in October 2022.     2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Scram Spied – New Details

    Royal Enfield Scram 450 will get the same engine, chassis and most other hardware as Himalayan 4502023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ScramRoyal Enfield is taking its ‘four motorcycles a year’ strategy seriously. This year, we got the new Classic 350, Scram 411 and Hunter 350. They also unveiled Super Meteor 650, which will launch in Jan 2023. But what after that?Well, there are many new motorcycles planned for launch by RE. One of them is an all new Himalayan 450 and Scram 450. Of the two, it is the Scram 450 that has now been spied somewhere in Europe.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Scram SpiedFor starters, Scram 450 will get a different design than Scram 411 which is currently on sale in India. It will also get a new 450cc engine mated to a new 6-speed gearbox. Even though Himalayan 450 is spotted with USD forks at front, Scram 450 still seems to get telescopic units.Himalayan 450 seems to be a more premium in comparison, and with recently spied Hero XPulse 400 on the horizon, things are only getting more interesting in the mid-size ADV segment.2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 ScramAlso, Himalayan 450 gets split seats and a different riding triangle than a single-piece seat on Scram 450. The frame will be sturdier than on Scram 411 and performance will be enhanced too. This new 450cc engine is likely to make around 30 bhp and 40 Nm of torque whereas the old 411cc engine used to make 24 bhp and 32 Nm.New RE Himalayan Scram 450 will get a host of electronic goodies like ride-by-wire, riding modes, and a tripper display for Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. It also gets alloy wheels with block-pattern tyres typically found on scrambler-style bikes. Whereas Himalayan 450 will get spoked wheels with AT tyres.Launch & CompetitionRoyal Enfield has not yet revealed any official info regarding the launch timeline. But looking at the recent test mule, it does look in a near-production-ready state. Plus it had minimal camouflage and most of the bodywork can be seen. We expect Scram 450 sometime next year. Maybe EICMA 2023?When launched, Scram 450 will be a much superior product to Scram 411. And it will be a more worthy opponent to Yezdi Scrambler, KTM 390 and Hero might also launch a scrambler-style XPulse 300T in the future.Source More
