Royal Enfield K1D Power Cruiser Design Leaks – To Get Himalayan 450cc Engine

Motorcycle in the image is a Benelli 502C – For reference onlyRoyal Enfield is the leading two wheeler maker in the 350-500cc segment – They will launch a range of new motorcycles to maintain leadershipRoyal Enfield has plans to launch 4 new motorcycles every year. One of these new motorcycles will be the K1D. This is the codename of Royal Enfield’s upcoming power cruiser, which will be powered by the same engine that will power the upcoming Himalayan 450cc. Design sketch of the Royal Enfield K1D power cruiser has now leaked online. From what it looks like, it is a direct inspiration from Ducati Diavel, one of the OGs in the “power cruiser” genre.Royal Enfield K1D Power CruiserFor starters, it is likely that Royal Enfield will have a slightly different-looking motorcycle than the Ducati Diavel, Benelli Leoncino and Bajaj Dominar range. But pulled-back handlebars, front set footpegs, relaxed and ergonomically upright seating posture are most probable.Royal Enfield K1D Power Cruiser LeaksThis motorcycle will come off as muscular and will flash its muscle to dominate rivals (see what I did there?). Given that the single-cylinder 400cc to 500cc motorcycle genre has had a bit of an uproar in the recent past, Royal Enfield would logically consider launching it in this segment. It will go against Triumph Speed 400 and Harley-Davidson X440.What to expectRoyal Enfield’s new 450cc single-cylinder engine will go on a bunch of other products before gracing on this new power cruiser. As of now, this engine is speculated to produce around 40 bhp of power and 45 Nm of torque. A 6-speed gearbox and liquid-cooling setup seems to be evident. We hope it brings a large fuel tank. Probably 20L to 25L would be nice. Similar to the Thunderbird range of the past. Componentry could include USD front forks similar to Himalayan 450, rear mono-shock unit, alloy wheels, fat tyres, and more.If we take a look at brand’s 13 upcoming motorcycles from their annual report, they don’t have a power cruiser planned in it. It is highly likely to be a project for the next phase of launch. By this logic, the K1D Royal Enfield power cruiser could launch in 2025 or 2026.Source More

New Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Exhaust Note Revealed Via Launch Teaser

2023 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 RenderBullet 350 is currently the only vehicle in Royal Enfield portfolio to still hasn’t transitioned to J-Series platformRoyal Enfield is currently the king of retro classic motorcycle segment. There’s no denying this fact right here. Even with Honda and Classic Legend’s brands like Jawa and Yezdi at its back, Royal Enfield has pushed on and on like a pawn in a chess game. With Classic 350 in its arsenal, Royal Enfield is at the top of the 350cc motorcycle list.To boost sales, Hunter 350 has joined the game as well and is sold at a lower price point too. Not just the price, weight is also lowest among all Royal Enfield’s. Hence, Hunter 350 is now more accessible than other products in the company’s lineup. Hunter 350 has been closing the gap on Classic 350 with latter witnessing a drop in sales too.2023 Bullet 350 Launch Date AnnouncedBut there is a motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s portfolio that has even more popularity than the very company itself. Right now, it is subdued in the form of an older platform and last-gen engine. If unleashed with modern platform and componentry, it is likely to be a force in this genre and smoke the rest of them in its rearview mirrors.Of course, we’re talking about the legendary Bullet 350. A name so recognisable, people often think that Bullet is the company. Named after a rich heritage of Royal Enfield’s arms manufacturing roots, Bullet plays with the heartstrings of many even today.New Royal Enfield Bullet 350 launch teaser pic.twitter.com/eXnaees6yZ— RushLane (@rushlane) July 20, 2023Bullet is among the oldest production bikes in the world that is still going strong. In 2023, it still doesn’t pack the latest J-series platform that the rest of the Royal Enfield family now packs. That is exactly what Royal Enfield is doing, though. Make it modern while still retaining its old-school charm. We have spied multiple test mules before. Launch will take place on 30th August 2023 in Chennai, as revealed in the official teaser along with exhaust note. What To Expect? In terms of looks, Royal Enfield is likely to not fettle with its design too much. That charm has to be retained and 2023 Bullet 350 has to look like a Bullet 350 from a mile away. What the new model will get are subtle updates. Like the instrument cluster of Classic 350, modern J-series engine that is capable of 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm among others.Round headlights, single-piece stepped seat, spoked wheels and old-school body panels are likely to remain as is. 2023 Bullet 350 will get the same telescopic front suspension from Classic 350 and twin shock absorbers at the rear from Classic 350. Front disc brake is likely. However, the rear is likely to be a drum unit like Hunter 350 Retro and get single-channel ABS.A digital display for various info is a far cry from what outgoing Bullet and Electra models. And so is its engine. With new updates, 2023 Bullet 350 is likely to be priced above the Hunter 350 Retro variant. With a starting price tag of around Rs. 1.6 lakh (ex-sh), 2023 Bullet 350 will definitely be a welcome addition to Royal Enfield portfolio. One that will take Bullet’s name to new heights. Looking at its close-to-production guise, a launch might be right around the corner.  More

Royal Enfield Electric Bobber By Bulleteer Customs – 90 Kms Range

Royal Enfield Electric Bobber BuildWith around 5 kW of power from its rear hub motor, Royal Enfield Electric Bobber by Bulleteer Customs can travel 90 km on a single chargeElectric mobility is currently every automobile manufacturer’s future plan. The new wave of electric mobility is engulfing almost all automotive segments including 2W, 3W, 4W and even commercial trucks. Legacy motorcycle brands like Royal Enfield is also getting ready to enter this segment.Royal Enfield EVs launch is still some years in the future. But what if you wanted your old Bullet modified into an EV? An innovative marriage between old school and new age, isn’t it? Bengaluru-based Bulleteer Customs has done just that. Let’s take a look. With Owner and Maker Ricky from Bulleteer CustomsRoyal Enfield Electric BobberBulleteer Customs first showcased it at Royal Enfield Mania half a year ago. More recently, BikeWithGirl conversed with Ricky, owner and benefactor of this insane build. This is a custom motorcycle with Royal Enfield’s original chassis with modern electric powertrain.Even though it has ‘Gasoline’ written on its custom fuel tank for irony, this is a fully electric build. Donor vehicle is a 1984 Royal Enfield Standard, previously owned by Ricky’s father.[embedded content]The best thing about this motorcycle is not that it is electric. Instead, it is the attention to detail that Ricky has put into it. Battery cover is custom made to resemble a large engine with chrome finish fins. Ricky got this project done in less than a week.Royal Enfield Electric Bobber BuildThere is a large battery pack in the original chassis with candy red finish, where the engine used to be. Battery and motor controller are in its fuel tank. A 5 kW rear hub motor drives this vehicle. Battery takes 6 hours to fully charge and ekes out 90 km of range per charge. An absolute eye-candy!Because it is electric, it has a reverse function too. There are aggressive clip-on handlebars, machine-finished wheels, single disc setups at both ends, a custom instrument cluster unit, fat tyres, round headlights, and a lot of charisma and attitude about it. It looks so surreal and unreal at the same time.Royal Enfield Electric Bobber Build – ChargingRiding posture reminds me of Harley-Davidson Street Rod 750 with front-set footpegs like a cruiser and far-set handlebars like a track machine. BikeWithGirl asked Ricky what the cost would be to recreate a Royal Enfield Electric Bobber for customers with an old Bullet. He replied that there would be multiple choices in battery size and motor power. But a figure of around Rs. 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh is most probable, excluding donor vehicles cost. More

The Legend Evolves: Royal Enfield 750cc Engine Under Development?

Royal Enfield 650cc engine for referenceNew Royal Enfield 750cc powertrain – Likely a derivative of the outgoing 650cc parallel-twin unitWith a slew of retro classic motorcycles ranging from 350cc to 650cc powertrains, Royal Enfield has absolute dominance in mid-size motorcycle space. So much so, that it is currently the largest mid-size 2W manufacturer by a large margin. Thanks to its 650 Twins Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, joined by Super Meteor 650.Now, a recent report points to a larger engine is under development at Royal Enfield. This new engine will reportedly be a 750cc unit that will develop considerably more power and torque than outgoing 650cc unit. This new engine has the potential to open a new chapter in Royal Enfield’s sales. But, might get overlooked in favour of the 650cc platform too.Royal Enfield 750cc Engine – Revolution or Evolution?A variation of outgoing 650cc parallel-twin engine. In this sense, Royal Enfield is likely to carve out a bigger bore or stroke so the outgoing 650cc unit will displace around 750cc with codename ‘R’. In that case, the outgoing oil-cooling setup is highly likely to continue and only the new 450cc mill will get liquid-cooling setup.Outgoing 648cc parallel-twin motor generates 47 bhp of power at 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of torque at 5250 RPM. For a relaxed cruiser, the engine speed seems to be quite high, Royal Enfield might work on reducing engine speeds and give just marginally more performance, but at much lower engine speed.Royal Enfield 750cc engine will reportedly debut on a Bobber-style motorcycle with codename ‘R2G’. Given Royal Enfield’s product strategy, we will see multiple different body styles with this new 750cc platform. Starting with a bobber, we can have an ADV, a cruiser, a street motorcycle and even a cafe racer. The lead development is said to be happening at company’s development center in Leicester, UK. Manufacturing will happen here in India, though. This new engine will appeal to 350cc motorcycle owners looking for an upgrade. We will see this new 750cc R platform on the roads in 2025 or beyond. What to expect? So, will 750cc be the cap? More performance-oriented motorcycles than this new 750cc engine will reportedly be electric. This way, Royal Enfield can target a wide spectrum of motorcycles including 350cc, 450cc, 650cc and 750cc.Main target markets for this new engine will probably be North America, UK and Europe. But Indian market will get it too, given the popularity of the brand. We have seen multiple projects that have bored RE’s 650cc engine to displace up to 865cc. So, there is a demographic that wants more from this engine too.Source More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Off-roading By CS Santosh – Video

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Off-roadingRoyal Enfield is developing two new models in the new 450cc platform- Himalayan 450 and Scram 450 which are expected to be launched this yearRoyal Enfield has its platter full with plenty of models currently under development. This includes motorcycles like new-gen Bullet 350, Classic 650 and Shotgun 650 to name a few. These upcoming bikes are slated to be launched in the coming future. Apart from the models mentioned above, the Chennai-based manufacturer is also developing a more powerful Himalayan. The new adventure tourer will be accompanied by a scrambler iteration as well. With the Triumph 400 range just unveiled, it was expected of Royal Enfield to make some noise regarding their upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. And they have done just that, via ace rider CS Santosh’s social media account.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Off-roadingRoyal Enfield Himalayan 450 Off-roading by CS SantoshCS Santosh is among the top off-road and enduro motorcycle racer of India. This is not the first time he has been helping promote Royal Enfield. Back in 2016, he was the rider when the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 was showing its off-roading skills. At that time, the footpeg had broken in the promo video. No such issues this time around. As we can see in the video teaser, this is still a test mule – and not a production ready bike. It has likely been shot in Bangalore, where CS Santosh has his Big Rock Dirtpark. Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is seen being taken through its paces across the dirt track. Take a look at the video below.[embedded content]Himalayan 450 is underpinned by a new architecture with completely new body panels. As the development process continues, the prototype appears to inch closer to the final production-spec version. Along with Himalayan 450, we will also get Scram 450. Both models share a lot in common apart from the chassis and engine. For instance, both bikes get a similar fuel tank shape along with identical headlights, taillights and turn indicators that are likely to be LED units.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Off-roadingDifferences between both bikesThat said, there are a lot of variations in styling between both these bikes. The most prominent of all is a single-piece seat setup in the new Scram 450 as opposed to a split seat setup in its ADV sibling. Further, the latter comes with a luggage rack which is missing in the scrambler. Scram 450 also misses out on a flyscreen upfront which will be a standard offering in Himalayan. While both bikes offer a tall stance, Himalayan 450 rides slightly higher thanks to a larger front wheel which is likely to be a 21-inch unit. On the other hand, Scram 450 should get a 19-inch front wheel while the rear unit is expected to remain a 17-inch unit for both. This should provide Himalayan the extra edge over its scrambler sibling when it comes to tackling harsh conditions, although both machines will be equally adept while off-roading.There is a presence of a different bike in the videoSuspension setup on both bikes looks identical although travel offered might be slightly different. Both bikes will benefit from upside-down front forks but the one seen in Scram 450 is covered with gaiters. Another interesting variation is positioning of the instrument console in both motorcycles. While in Scram it is more conventional, in Himalayan the circular cluster is more upright and at your face.Expected Specs & LaunchThe biggest highlight on both bikes will be a brand new heart. Both Himalayan 450 and Scram 450 will be powered by a 450cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that is expected to dish out around 40 bhp of peak power. Transmission is likely to be via a 6-speed gearbox comprising a slipper and assist clutch. We expected both bikes to make an appearance later this year with an official launch soon after. More
