2025 KTM 390 AdventureRoyal Enfield New Himalayan is the natural enemy of upcoming 2025 KTM 390 Adventure that may go on sale in 2024 or early 2025The boom in lifestyle ADV motorcycles is currently on the rise. This popularity is very strong even with single-cylinder range 300cc to 500cc segment. We recently saw Royal Enfield launching the new Himalayan. KTM seems to have sharpened its testing of Himalayan’s arch rival, 2025 KTM 390 Adventure with more off-road worthy hardware this time around.2025 KTM 390 Adventure Spotted TestingCurrent gen 390 Adventure is among the popular ADVs in India. It is more of a high-riding adventure tourer, than an off-roader. KTM recently gave it a few off-road bits like wire-spoke wheels (19-inch front and 17-inch rear). This added the off-road capability of this touring machine. However, 2025 KTM 390 Adventure looks as if it is built from the ground-up, to go off-road.We can see minimal body panels too, that reduce visual bulk from current 390 Adventure significantly. Overall motorcycle looks a lot more meaner and purpose-built than a sophisticated-looking current gen model. This is thanks to KTM’s 450 Rally inspired design language.We can see KTM’s new design language transformed slightly to fit into ADV genre. The fascia has a strong presence, accentuated by twin projector headlight setup, flanked by inverted horse shoe shaped LED DRLs. here is an aerodynamically optimised windscreen, that may feature adjustability too. There are beefy knuckle guards that add to overall appeal.2025 KTM 390 Adventure Production GuiseThere is a large beak up front, which is a characteristic of an off-road motorcycle. Seat height looks accommodating and offers riders a commanding upright stance. Footpeg positioning should aid standing and riding as well. Chiseled fuel tank looks like it offers enough grip to hold on to the motorcycle.Componentry and powertrainsThe main frame looks like it is lifted straight off 390 Duke. However, there may be certain tweak to suit off-road character. Rear subframe seems to be new and the test mule spotted abroad has a single-seat setup. Tail section has been kept minimal and purposeful as well, with twin pod LED tail lights and split grab rail.USD telescopic front forks are from WP. Rebound and compression adjustability along with long suspension travel are expected from this setup. Rear suspension is taken care of an off-set mono-shock setup that may feature rebound and preload adjustability. Swingarm is unique and looks sturdier than the one seen with recently launched 390 Duke.Tail section with under-belly exhaustExhaust setup is identical to that of 390 Duke, which is an under-belly setup. This could have been an up-swept unit to enhance water wading capability. KTM seems to be offering 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels. Instrument cluster seems to be the same TFT unit from 390 Duke, but positioned more appropriately for an ADV.Powertrain-wise, we can expect the same 399cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4V engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine will have a different tune than 390 Duke, making around 45 bhp and 40 Nm. 2025 KTM 390 Adventure will be manufactured by Bajaj in India and launch might happen in 2024. Royal Enfield Meteor 350Royal Enfield sales in India and in global markets crossed the 4.47 unit mark showing off positive YoY growth in November 2023Royal Enfield reported total sales (domestic + exports) of 80,251 units in November 2023 relating to a 13.40 percent YoY growth from 70,766 units sold in November 2022. This was a 9,485 unit volume growth. Improved sales were seen both in the company’s sub-350cc and above 350cc segments and in terms of domestic sales and exports. MoM sales on the other hand dipped by 4.96 percent from 84,435 units sold in October 2023.Royal Enfield Sales up 13% in November 2023In the sub-350cc segment that currently comprises the Bullet, Electra, Classic, Meteor and Hunter, sales grew by 12.61 percent YoY to 74,275 units in November 2023, up from 65,956 units sold in November 2022 to command a 92.55 percent share. It was however a MoM decline by 2.37 percent when compared to 76,075 units sold in October 2023.Royal Enfield Sales Nov 2023The company’s larger bikes, that include the Himalayan, Super Meteor and 650 Twins, had 5,976 unit sales last month, relating to a 24.24 percent YoY growth. This was against 4,810 units sold in November 2022. MoM sales however fell by 28.52 percent from 8,360 units sold in October 2023.Royal Enfield has seen strong domestic sales growth last month by 14.26 percent YoY to 75,137 units up from 65,760 units sold in November 2022. However, on a MoM basis, its sales dipped by 7.19 percent when compared to 80,958 units sold in October 2023.Exports on the other hand showed promise both in terms of YoY and MoM sales growing 2.16 percent YoY and  as much as 47.08 percent MoM to 5,114 units in November 2023. There had been 5,006 units and 3,477 units exported in November 2022 and October 2023 respectively.Royal Enfield YTD Sales Apr-Nov 2023Taking into account the company’s sales during the Apr-Nov 2023 period, a 13.45 percent YTD growth has been reported. Total sales (domestic + exports) stood at 6,21,672 units, up from 5,47,970 units sold in the same period of 2022.It was the RE bikes in the sub-350cc segment that contributed most to total sales with 5,56,546 units sold in Apr-Nov 2023, up 16.10 percent from 4,79,366 units sold in Apr-Nov 2022. This was a 77,180 unit volume growth with an 89.52 percent share.Bikes in the above 350cc segment suffered a setback by 5.07 percent to 65,126 units in the Apr-Nov 2023 period from 68,604 units sold in the same 8 month period last year. Share of >350cc bikes currently stands at 10.48 percent.Even as domestic YTD sales grew by 18.63 percent to 5,72,982 units from 4,82,997 units, exports suffered a setback of 25.06 down to 48,690 units sold during Apr-Nov 2023 from 64,973 untis shipped in the same period last year. Royal Enfield Classic and Hunter in the 350 cc range commanded the domestic sales list with both YoY and MoM growthRoyal Enfield has been doing well in terms of sales with a total (domestic + exports) at 84,435 units in September 2023. This was against 82,235 units sold in October 2022 while on a MoM basis sales improved over a total of 78,580 units sold in September 2023.Royal Enfield Domestic Sales October 2023The company is gearing up to introduce its first bike in the 450cc range. The new Himalayan 450 will be launched sometime later this month. It will be at the 2023 MotoVerse in Goa being held on November 24 that the new Himalayan will be revealed while it could be priced around Rs. 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom).With the company’s domestic list commanded by its 350cc models, it was a total of 80,958 units sold last month, up 5.79 percent from 76,528 units sold in October 2022. This was a volume growth of 4,430 units. MoM sales also saw a 9.02 percent growth from 74,261 units sold in September 2023 relating to volume growth of 6,697 units.RE Classic 350 was the best-selling model in company’s lineup in domestic markets with a 0.33 percent YoY growth to 31,897 units, up from 31,791 units sold in October 2022. It was an even higher MoM growth by 22.67 percent when compared to 26,003 units sold in September 2023.Royal Enfield Sales October 2023 Breakup – DomesticThe Classic 350 currently commands a 39.40 percent share in Royal Enfield’s domestic markets. MoM sales grew by 20.25 percent from 14,746 units sold in September 2023 to currently hold a 21.90 percent shareAlso in the 350cc segment were the Bullet and Meteor. Bullet 350 domestic sales grew significantly by 63.12 percent to 14,281 units, up from 8,755 units sold in October 2022. MoM sales on the other hand fell by 18.45 percent from 17,512 units sold in September 2023. The new gen Bullet 350 was launched in September 2023, bringing with it added features, a fine-tuned engine and better suspension.Bullet 350 sales drop 18.45% MoMBookings have opened and sales could see an increase in the months ahead. Meteor 350cc sales, on the other hand, fell by 2.05 percent YoY to 10,141 units in October 2023 from 10,353 units sold in October 2022. MoM sales however, grew by 17.12 percent from 8,659 units sold in September 2023.The RE Himalayan has seen lower sales over past two months. It fell to 2,944 units in October 203 down 21.51 percent from 3,751 units sold in October 2022 while it dipped MoM by 8.51 percent from 3,218 units sold in September 2023.India’s highest-selling 500cc+ motorcycle, Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 sold 2,202 units sold last month, a 7.99 percent growth over 2,039 units sold in September 2023. Sales dipped YoY for both the 650 Twins and Electric 350 to 1,746 units and 15 units respectively though MoM sales of the 650 Twins went up by 36.41 percent from 1,280 units sold in September 2023.More recently the company has updated the Super Meteor which is India’s best-selling bike in the 500cc segment. Royal Enfield has introduced the wingman telematics suite on the Super Meteor 650 bringing with it a host of connected tech features which are accessible via Royal Enfield App.Royal Enfield Classic 350 tops Export List in October 2023With a total of 3,477 units in October 2023, Royal Enfield has reported both a YoY and MoM decline in exports. It was a 39.07 percent YoY decline from 5,707 units exported in October 2022 while MoM exports dipped by 19.50 percent from 4,319 units shipped in September 2023. Every model in the company portfolio posted a YoY decline while on a MoM basis, it was only the Super Meteor and Hunter 350 that saw more positive results.Royal Enfield Sales October 2023 Breakup – ExportsTopping the export list was Classic 350 which saw an 11.75 percent de-growth to 1,059 units in October 2023 from 1,200 units exported in October 2022. MoM exports also fell by 14.46 percent from 1,238 units shipped in September 2023. Super Meteor exports stood at 1,022 units lasts month, a 15.48 percent MoM growth over 885 units exported in October 2022. The Super Meteor currently commands a 29.39 percent share on the export list.It was a 48.06 percent YoY decline in exports for the Hunter 350 which fell to 670 units last month from 1,290 units exported in October 2022. MoM exports however, saw a marginal improvement of 1.21 percent from 662 units shipped in September 2023. De-growth in exports was also reported for the 650 Twins (392 units), Meteor (209 units), Bullet 350 (71 units) and Himalayan (54 units). More
