    The upcoming Ola electric scooter has managed to create enough buzz ahead of its launch, thanks to the company’s CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, who has been very active on social media of late. Bookings of the highly anticipated e-scooter have commenced at a token amount of just Rs 499.
    Record Bookings
    In just 24 hours, Ola Electric scooter bookings has crossed the 1 lakh mark. This is a new record in Indian auto industry. Never before a company has registered such high number of bookings in first 24 hours.

    Ola Electric Scooter Variants Details Leak
    However, the upcoming scooter hasn’t found a brand name, at least in public. Upon checking the Government’s official trademark registry, we have got a hint of what the e-scooter might be called. Apparently, Ola Electric has filed three trademarks for three names which are Series S, S1, and S1 Pro.

    From the looks of it, Series S is expected to be the official brand name of the scooter, while S1 and S1 Pro could be its other two variants, the former being the base trim. As of now, it has been referred to as ‘Ola electric scooter’ which is a very generic term. All variants will differ in terms of features, specifications and maybe colour options as well.

    The overall design of the e-scooter is expected to remain similar regardless of the variant. Series S could be the base variant while S1 and S1 PRO could be higher variants. The difference between the variants is expected to be in terms of colour options and ride range.

    Recently, images of the production-spec model of the upcoming Ola e-scooter were leaked online which gave insights about its colour options. As of now, we know that the Ola electric scooter will be offered in at least three paint schemes- Blue, Black and Pink.
    Previous teasers have already highlighted that it would be offering some class-leading attributes in the form of under-seat storage, single-charge range and app-based keyless access to the scooter.
    Features & Specs
    Speaking of features, the base S1 trim is expected to miss out on some of the premium tech on board the premium S1 Pro trim. Some of its notable features expected to be offered in the upcoming e-scooter include alloy wheels, removable Lithium-ion battery, digital instrument console, cloud connectivity and more which could be derived from its Dutch twin Etergo Appscooter.
    Specifications of the e-scooter haven’t been revealed as of now but we can expect a range of 150km on a single charge. The company claims disruptive prices for the segment, hence it is expected to be made available at a price of around Rs 1.0 lakh (ex-showroom). Official launch of the electric scooter is expected to take place by the end of this month. More

He has offered insights into its onboard features, some of which are said to be best in class with under-seat storage space as reports claims to offer 50 liters of storage space. Other exclusive features will also include keyless, app-based access along with category leading long range charge.
    Features that the new Ola e-scooter will also get could include a digital instrument cluster, cloud connectivity, alloy wheels, a removable lithium battery pack and telescopic suspension. The company’s advertising team had also released some ‘crazy ads’ and Aggarwal’s tweet also indicated that anyone with ideas on marketing could get in touch with the company or re-tweet.

    Ola Plant with Industry 4.0 norms
    Ola Electric is currently working on setting up a state of the art production unit and has also entered into an agreement with Siemens for the plant in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu, at an investment of Rs.2,400 crores. The facility will have full capacity of 10 million units per annum making it the world’s largest two-wheeler factory.
    The Ola Tamil Nadu plant will help to generate around 10,000 employment opportunities and will comply with Industry 4.0 norms. Besides catering to the demands in Indian markets will also focus on exports to countries of Europe, Asia and Latin America.
    Ola Electric Scooter Range – 122 kms with 87% charge
    Class-Leading Speed, Performance and Range
    The Ola electric scooter will be launched in India sometime in the coming weeks. As per the leaked spy shot, the console shows there is 87% charge remaining and 122 kms range. At the same rate, a 100% batter should deliver range of 140-150 kms. Ola is yet to reveal official range of their electric scooter.
    Acceleration from 0 to 45 km/h will be achieved in 3.9 seconds while top speed will be at above 80 km/h. The Ola e-scooter could be priced in around Rs 1 lakh and will rival the likes of the Ather 450X, Bajaj e-Chetak, TVS iQube and other e-scooters also set for launch in our markets in the near future.
