Tesla Offered 1,000 Acres Of Land By Gujarat Govt – To Setup Electric Car Plant

Rendered image. Credit – Backstage With MillionairesTesla would enter the Indian auto market with the likely launch of Model 3 electric sedan slated later this year
Tesla has already established its entity in India with its India headquarters based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It has also decided to set up shops in three different cities of the country- Mumbai, New Delhi and Bengaluru. The electric car manufacturer is currently scouting for a place where it could establish the company’s first assembly line.
While it has been reported that Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat are all keen to welcome the American brand with open arms, the Gujarat Government has meanwhile offered 1000 acres of land to Tesla to build its local production facility. The company is presently scrutinizing all available options.
    Tesla Playing Out All Options
According to a senior Gujarat government official, Tesla is undecided whether to opt for Gujarat or dig deep in Karnataka. The official quoted, “There is little or no social life in Gujarat, while it is not so in Bengaluru. They are trying to negotiate with both Gujarat and Karnataka governments.” The American EV brand officially set its foot in India on January 8, 2021, when it registered itself as Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Limited in Bengaluru.
The recent further discloses that the Maharashtra Government has also offered a piece of land in the state for the purpose of building its local plant. However, talks didn’t materialize ever since.
Tesla Model 3 Spied Testing In India
It has come to light that Tesla officials wanted a big web of charging stations in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region as well as near the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust, the port where the cars will land following imports. Tesla has partnered with 27 vendors in India out of which 20 are said to belong from Maharashtra.
Since their last interaction in 2020, Tesla hasn’t responded to the Maharashtra Government. Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister had proclaimed that the carmaker will set up its factory and R&D facility in his state shortly after it registered itself with the Registrar of Companies with a Bengaluru address. However, the Karnataka CM later deleted that tweet that contained this information.
    Gujarat Likely Host
Meanwhile, Gujarat has offered land both inside and outside Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) in Mundra. APSEZ has an area of 8,400 hectares out of which around half is lying vacant. SEZs are designated duty-free enclaves where the Indian customs law does not apply. What also holds in favour of Gujarat is its new EV policy introduced a few days ago that not only offers subsidies on purchase of EVs but also provides setting up of necessary charging infrastructure.
Additionally, land in Gujarat is far cheaper than that in Karnataka. Reports claim that the Gujarat government is looking to build an electric vehicle hub in Mundra and, therefore, has also proposed to allocate land for ancillary units that would assist Tesla. This would include land for an EV battery manufacturing unit as well as other component manufacturers.

2021 Bajaj Pulsar 250 NS Teased As Newest Street Machine?

Image for reference. Credit – Surmek
Bajaj is expected to launch the new Pulsar 250 in the festive season later this year competing against other quarter-litre roadsters
Bajaj is developing a new 250cc iteration of Pulsar. This motorcycle could actually become a reality sooner than expected, as the homegrown brand has teased an upcoming motorcycle on its social media platform. It is likely that this could be the upcoming quarter-litre Pulsar.
The latest post uploaded by Bajaj shows an image of a motorcycle hidden behind a flurry of smoke with a caption that read, “Can you guess the newest street machine?”. This could also be a marketing gimmick from the bikemaker and could easily be the latest entrant to the Pulsar family- NS125. The black alloy wheels with white rim stickers along with white accents on engine guard back this claim.
Pulsar 250- Expected Design & Features
Previously, a testing prototype spotted was the naked roadster version of Pulsar 250 which will probably wear the branding of ‘NS’. There is also going to be a faired version with the same mechanical setup onboard which is likely to wear the ‘RS’ branding.
As seen in earlier spy shots, the upcoming bike gets a muscular fuel tank with extended shrouds and bikini fairing. Other notable highlights include an upswept side exhaust, an upright tail section and a split seat setup. Overall body proportions look evidently larger than NS200.
    Bajaj Pulsar NS 250 Teaser?
It could feature an all-LED lighting setup and an all-digital instrument console with a full-colour display and Bluetooth connectivity. Bajaj is also expected to offer smartphone connectivity tech in the upcoming bike. This new Pulsar could feature an all-new 250cc motor and will be underpinned by a new platform.
    Expected Mechanical Specs
The upcoming Pulsar 250 is likely to be based on a new platform different from the one used in Dominar 250 and KTM 250 Duke. It will draw its energy from a new 248.9cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Power and torque outputs are likely to range between Pulsar 220F and Dominar 250. This unit will be linked to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch on offer.
Hardware setup of the bike will comprise telescopic forks at front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at rear. Braking will be taken care of by disc brakes on both wheels while safety net will be provided by a dual-channel ABS.
The new Pulsar 250 could be hitting showrooms later this year, before the onset of the festive season. Bajaj will pitch the new Pulsar 250 as a premium sporty commuter offering and will be competing against Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25, Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM Duke 250 and its own sibling Dominar 250. More

Aprilia has also introduced the entry level GPR150R, which would appeal to folks with limited budget. The smaller capacity GPR150R is available in both ABS and non-ABS versions. Prices are 22,980 Yuan (~ Rs 2.65 lakh) and 20,980 Yuan (~ Rs 2.42 lakh), respectively.

The bike is equipped with a TFT colour instrument console that displays a range of information such as rpm, speed, engine temperature, odometer, and fuel gauge. Colour options include matte black and bright silver.
The bike has a largely blacked-out look and comes with red graphics on the side fairing. The only major difference between the two colour options is in the colour of the fuel tank. The colour of graphics on the fuel tank is also different for both options.
    New Aprilia 250cc Motorcycle
With rear-set foot pegs and flat handle bar, the bike offers an aggressive riding stance. It may work for short sprints, but may not be suitable for daily commutes in heavy, slow moving traffic. Wheelbase is 1345mm. The bike weighs 158 kg and can carry 14 litres of fuel.
At this point of time, Aprilia doesn’t seem to have plans to launch GPR250R in the Indian market. Here, it will have multiple rivals in the form of respective 250cc sports bikes from Yamaha, Honda, KTM and Suzuki. More

Rapper Rick Ross Teases His Huge Car Collection on Instagram

This content is imported from Instagram. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

Rick Ross had some of his vintage vehicles on display in a recent Instagram video, walking the camera down a line of retro eye candy that included several Chevy Bel Airs.Ross’s passion for cars is well documented in his music, and he recently said his collection includes around 100 vehicles.Ross, who named his record label after the luxurious Maybach automotive brand, also recently visited Jay Leno to film a segment on his custom 1957 Bel Air.Back in 2010, Rick Ross rapped the lines “New Mercedes sedan, the Lex’ sport/So many cars, DMV thought it was mail fraud” on Kanye West’s “Devil in a New Dress.” Although it’s certainly not uncommon for rappers to brag about owning dozens of luxury cruisers and exotic supercars, Rick Ross wasn’t exaggerating—in a recent Instagram video, the rapper gave a brief tour of some of the old-school metal in his expansive collection. In the video, Ross ambles down the seemingly endless driveway to his 400-acre, 109-room estate in Georgia, giving a taste of some of the classic cars he owns. We can spot at least 12 vehicles in the video, although Ross apparently has around 100 cars to his name. The video begins with multiple blue Chevrolet Bel Airs, all second-generation models from between 1955 and 1957, and wraps up with some retro trucks, including a brown and tan 1980s Chevrolet C/K with aftermarket LED headlights. His cars all look to be in beautiful condition, glistening under the Georgia sun, and most of them appear to be stock, although a few ride on glitzy chrome or gold rims.

Ross is certainly one of the biggest car enthusiasts in hip-hop. Along with his sprawling collection and referencing cars in his music, he is the CEO of Maybach Music Group, a major record label that Ross founded and named after the opulent Mercedes-owned brand. Ross also recently met up with Jay Leno, touring the famous garage before filming a segment for Leno’s show about his red custom 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Ross clearly has a thing for the Bel Air, as the ’57 that he shared with Leno is not one of the four Bel Airs in his most recent Instagram video.

Watch the 1000-HP GMC Hummer EV Launch in Watts to Freedom Mode

This content is imported from YouTube. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

GMC shared a video of the upcoming 2022 Hummer EV pickup doing a “Watts to Freedom” launch-control start. The new Hummer EV pickup, when equipped with its available 1000-hp three-motor setup, is claimed to launch to 60 mph in 3.0 seconds. The Hummer EV pickup will arrive by the end of the year and an SUV model and cheaper configurations will go on sale within the next few years. GMC’s new Hummer EV pickup will enter production this fall, and GMC says it has up to 1000 horsepower and will reach 60 mph in 3.0 seconds. That’s with its launch-control mode that’s called Watts to Freedom, and GMC shared a video of the feature in action on a prototype truck—a fitting way to launch into the holiday weekend.

    GMC

We’ve yet to experience it for ourselves, but Watts to Freedom aims to provide a different experience than traditional gas-powered cars’ launch-control systems. It still involves the driver mashing the accelerator and brake pedals simultaneously, but Watts to Freedom aims to elevate the auditory experience thanks to the lack of a noisy internal-combustion engine. The Hummer EV first lowers itself by 2.0 inches via the air suspension followed by a series of sounds, haptic feedback in the driver’s seat, and visual elements in the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, including a g-force meter. Once this sequence is complete, then it’ll launch to 60 mph in a claimed 3.0 seconds.

The GMC Hummer EV will eventually offer pickup and SUV variations, and they will be the first General Motors products to use the automaker’s new Ultium battery platform. In its most powerful configuration, the Hummer EV has three electric motors producing up to 1000 horsepower and all-wheel drive. Cheaper models have two-motor setups and less power. The first Hummer EV to arrive will be the fully loaded Edition 1 pickup starting at $112,595, and the cheaper configurations and SUV models will go on sale in the next few years. We’ll let you know how quick the electric Hummer is when we get our hands on one for testing, and we’ll show you all about how Watts to Freedom and the Hummer’s other features work.

Mini Vision Urbanaut Is a Full-Size Vision of a Pod-Like Future

After existing solely in the digital realm for a year, a real-life version of the Vision Urbanaut has been released by Mini and is on display in Germany. The Vision Urbanaut is designed to be autonomous and electric, putting the emphasis on passenger comfort and convenience. The interior can shift among three modes—Chill, Vibe, and Wanderlust—that alter the lighting, layout, sound, and fragrance inside the Urbanaut. The Mini Vision Urbanaut first appeared last year as a series of renderings, but the sleek minivan concept has now returned as a full-scale model, debuting at the Digital-Life-Design Summer conference in Munich. The Urbanaut is a peek into Mini’s crystal ball, showcasing a future of electric lounge-style autonomous pods.

    Mini

At 175.6 inches long, the Urbanaut is only about six inches longer than Mini’s diminutive Countryman crossover, but the interior appears far more spacious thanks to an electric powertrain, which allows for a flat floor and living-room-like proportions. The exterior design of the Urbanaut is smooth and simple, and the front and rear ends are dominated by LEDs. In the original renderings, the LEDs were lit up in organic patterns to resemble traditional headlight and taillight units, but the new photos give a sense of how the LED panels look when not in use during the daytime. The only other major change from the renderings is the color, which goes from green to a light bluish silver.Apparently Mini “sees its future self primarily as an enabler of and companion for unforgettable times,” which it dubs “Mini moments.” The Urbanaut features three such “moments”—think of this marketing jargon like a drive mode, except only one of the settings is actually centered around travel. The first, called Chill, turns the car into a retreat from the outside world. The interior lighting mimics “a green forest canopy,” and the instrument panel transforms into a table lamp, “eliminating displays or switches that might remind the customer of their automotive surroundings.”

    Mini

The Vibe mode is all about socializing, with the door sliding open and the windshield raising up to create a welcoming, airy environment. The instrument panel is now dedicated to entertainment, and the Urbanaut will project graphics that move along to the rhythm and tempo of your tunes for what Mini claims is “a pleasant club atmosphere,” which sounds like an oxymoron. The only driving-oriented moment is called Wanderlust, which sees the instrument cluster switch to displaying an animation of the route, the estimated arrival time, tourist attractions along the way, and other trip information. Although the Urbanaut is envisioned as being capable of autonomous driving, a steering wheel and pedals will emerge at the press of a button.

    Mini

Mini also touts the Urbanaut’s sustainability. The design team decreased the number of components by having certain features serve two functions—the dashboard can morph into a day bed, for instance. The interior is swathed in recycled textiles including wool, polyester, and Tencel, and the steering wheel and sections of the floor are made from recyclable cork.

The Vision Urbanaut will not go into production, but expect the design philosophy seen here to appear on Minis across the next decade as the automaker transitions towards electric propulsion. Mini also points out that the Urbanaut’s interior does not feature chrome or leather, an approach it says will be implemented on its next-generation models.
