2022 GMC Sierra Will Have Super Cruise with Trailering

GM is rolling out a new version of Super Cruise that supports towing a trailer. It also has a new feature called automatic lane change that can overtake a slower vehicle without any input from the driver. This new Super Cruise will be available on several GMC, Chevy, and Cadillac models later this year as 2022 models arrive.GM is installing its Super Cruise hands-free highway driving technology in several new models for 2022, and the system will be upgraded to support several new features. The biggest upgrade, which will matter most for GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado customers, is that this new version of Super Cruise can now operate with a trailer attached.

When you’re pulling a trailer, Super Cruise adjusts its tuning to compensate for the estimate gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the truck and the trailer combined. It otherwise works exactly the same as normal Super Cruise, with the vehicle operating the steering and speed of the vehicle and allowing the driver to keep their hands off the wheel so long as the vehicle verifies that you continue to keep your eyes on the road via an eye-tracking system. This new Super Cruise can also now execute lane changes on its own. While it previously offered on-demand lane changes if you pressed the turn signal, the system can now make those decisions without driver input. If the vehicle senses that you’re approaching a slower car, it checks if there’s enough room to pass—either in the lane to the right or the lane to the left—and overtakes. The only caveat is that auto lane change isn’t active with a trailer attached.GM says the new Super Cruise will be offered on 2022 GMC Sierra, Chevy Silverado, GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac CT4, and Cadillac CT5 models later this year. We expect to hear more about the other updates in store for the 2022 Sierra and Silverado within the next few months.

Image – Takuli’s TalkDespite YoY de-growth, Honda Activa was the highest-selling scooter in India last month, with total sales figure of 94,274 units
The scooter segment, unlike that of motorcycles, noted de-growth in June 2021. TVS Jupiter was at No. 2 with a 15.82 percent de-growth and 13.84 percent share. Sales in the past month stood at 31,848 units, down from 37,831 units sold in June 2020. TVS Jupiter was followed by Suzuki Access and Honda Dio, both of which noted increased sales YoY.
Access scooter sales surged 102.05 percent to 31,399 units in June 2021, up from 15,540 units sold in June 2020. Dio sales also increased by 47.35 percent to 18,983 units in the past month up from 12,883 units sold in June 2020. Upcoming Electric Scooters
Each of these scooters on the list are set to face competition from a series of electric scooters being launched. The electric scooter segment with FAME II subsidy and special incentives being offered by various state governments is bound to give their petrol powered counterparts some competition.
Ola electric scooter has been received with much aplomb while Ola is also in the process of setting up 5,000 charging stations across India. Simple Energy is working on its electric scooter, Simple One, which is launching in August 2021. Honda is said to be working on the Benly-e for launch in India in 2021. The model is currently undergoing tests at Automotive Research Association of India. Yamaha has also announced an upcoming electric scooter. More

2022 Bajaj Pulsar 250F Side View Detailed In New Spy Shot

2022 Bajaj Pulsar 250F spied testingPulsar 250F will compete with quarter-litre offerings from Yamaha and Suzuki
A brand that helped Bajaj cement its position in motorcycle segment, Pulsar range will soon be extended with multiple quarter-litre offerings. New Pulsar 250cc range is expected to get a naked sport NS250 and a fully faired RS250. Now a semi-faired version has also been spotted on road tests. This is likely to be named Pulsar 250F, as it shares quite a few design elements with Pulsar 220F.
Pulsar 250cc range will be a welcome addition, as customers are expected to gain in terms of competitive pricing. Pulsar 250F is likely to be priced lower than KTM 250 Duke and Dominar 250. Current Pulsar range is quite diverse with various options available across 125cc, 150cc, 160cc, 180cc, 200cc and 220cc. All of these are popular, as they combine an optimal mix of performance and affordability.
    Pulsar 220F design and features
Although the test mule was wearing heavy camouflage, some features were still clearly evident. For example, the quarter fairing close to the fuel tank and headlamp cowl appears to be similar to the one used on 220F.
Other matching features include clip-on handlebars and fairing-mounted rear view mirrors. The grab rail appears to be similar to the one that was spotted earlier with naked variant of Pulsar 250cc. LED tail lamp could be new, but it’s not very clear due to the camouflage.
2022 Bajaj Pulsar 250F spied testing
Pulsar 250F features that will be the same as that of its naked sibling include tall windshield, stubby exhaust canister, rear tyre hugger, alloy wheels and disc brakes. The bike has a comfortable, upright riding stance. However, it could support a slightly forward leaning stance as well. The bike will have split seats, which will help enhance its sporty profile.
Bajaj Pulsar 250F engine and specs
Pulsar 250F is expected to get an entirely new engine platform. It could be an air and oil-cooled unit, as compared to the liquid cooled motor used with Dominar 250. Max power output could be around 24bhp.
It will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. In comparison, the current 250cc engine used with Dominar 250 churns out 27 ps. This new engine platform is expected to be used to update the entire Pulsar range upwards of 150cc.
Pulsar 250F is expected to be offered with conventional telescopic forks at the front and monoshock rear suspension. Braking duties will be performed by disc brakes at both ends. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as standard.

On July 16, 2021 bookings opened in Nagpur at a down payment of Rs 2,000, while now buyers in three more cities of Mysore, Mangalore, and Aurangabad can place their bookings for the Bajaj Chetak.
Earlier this year in April, Bajaj Auto had also announced plans to enter Chennai and Hyderabad but there hasn’t been any further announcement as on date. As of now, Chetak is on sale in 6 cities across 2 states of India.
One of the reasons for this phased launch in various cities is due to the ongoing pandemic situation in the country. This has caused multiple lockdowns being announced by various state governments which has impaired supply chain as well as affected production.
    Chetak Variants
Bajaj Chetak is offered in two variants of Urbane and Premium priced at Rs 1.42 lakh and Rs 1.44 lakh, respectively. Chetak Premium variant is available in four colours of Indigo Metallic, Velutto Rosso, Brooklyn Black and Hazelnut, while Chetak Urbane variant gets two colours of Cyber White and Citrus Rush.
    Bajaj Chetak Cities
Bajaj Chetak receives a steel frame. It gets an indicator mounted front apron, oval shape headlamp and a flat seat. Its on board features also include a storage compartment, pillion grab handle and flat foot board along with a digital instrument cluster, all LED lighting and blacked out 12 inch alloy wheels.
An arch rival to the TVS iQube and the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak e-scooter will also soon face added competition from the new Ola e-scooter. The Chetak is available for registration on the company’s official website.
    Bajaj Chetak Riding Modes
Bajaj Chetak gets its power via a 3.8 kW motor with a IP67 lithium battery pack that generates 4.08 kW peak power. It is offered in two modes of Eco and Sport. In Eco mode, performance of the vehicle is optimized and is able to achieve a range of 90 km while in Sport mode, faster acceleration is possible which affects driving range. The battery pack gets charged in 5 hours via a conventional power socket.
Suspension is via link fork in the front and mono shock at the rear and disc brake in the front and drum brake at the rear with combined braking system for improved braking performance. The battery will last upto 70,000 kms, provided the battery is maintained well. The company also offers warranty of 3 years or 50,000 kms (whichever comes earlier). More

Yamaha FZ-X 150cc Custom Cafe Racer Officially Revealed

Yamaha FZ-X Custom Cafe Racer – Created by Autologue Design, For Yamaha IndiaYamaha has launched an open online design challenge – They are inviting rendered designs as applications from all across the country
Yamaha’s recent attempt at building a retro-style motorcycle received mixed reactions from enthusiasts from all corners. Many believe that the new FZ-X is a missed opportunity by the Japanese brand to create something special for the commuter motorcycle space in India.
    New Competition
While it definitely does look unique in its design, the FZ-X isn’t able to create an instant impact on the minds of prospective buyers. However, this doesn’t bog down Yamaha as the company intensely markets the neo-retro motorcycle on social media. The Japanese bikemaker has introduced a “Customise FZ-X challenge” on its social media handle.
The company is encouraging designers from various custom workshops to put forward their version of FZ-X on the internet. The one which accumulated the most number of votes will win the competition.
Yamaha is allowing individual as well as group participants to enrol themselves in this challenge. All entries have to be submitted to the company’s official India website.
    Yamaha FZ-X Custom Cafe Racer
Custom Cafe Racer From Autologue Design
There already have been a few entrants and Yamaha has displayed some of them on its official Facebook page. One which surely caught our attention was a custom cafe racer based on FZ-X created by Autologue Design.
The Pune-based aftermarket customisation workshop has created a beautiful rendition of neo-retro cafe racer. The design has been commissioned by Yamaha and hopefully, we will soon get to see an actual working prototype of this motorcycle.
The custom bike flaunts a conventional retro cafe racer design that dates back to the 1960s with fighter jet-like headlamp fairing. The front fairing is aerodynamically shaped whereas the tank shrouds feature air scoops which further enhance the bike’s aerodynamic qualities. The rear section features a sloping pillion seat with a traditional cowl. The yellow color scheme also matches with the bike’s retro theme.
    Yamaha FZ-X Custom Cafe Racer
The contrasting black stripe on yellow-coloured fuel tank provides a nice sporty contrast which is further aided by contrasting blue and red rims on the black alloy wheels. Other cosmetic highlights include bar-end circular rearview mirrors, new side body panel, tan brown saddle and a small round LED taillight. Rest of the elements have been carried forward from the stock FZ-X, however, the new custom design looks far more appealing than the stock motorcycle.
    FZ-X Specs
As we already know, FZ-X is based on the FZ range of motorcycles from Yamaha and hence share most of their mechanical components among them. It is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 12.2 bhp at 7,250rpm and 13.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm.
This motor is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic front forks and a seven-step preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. Braking duties are carried out by disc brakes on both wheels assisted by a single-channel ABS. More

Joy Electric Scooter, Motorcycle Subsidy For Students From Class 9

Joy Electric Motorcycle – MonsterJoy e-bike approved for subsidy programme 2021-22 by Gujarat Energy Development Agency
For EV sales to improve, state government’s are now announcing individual subsidies. Following a revision to FAME II policy, states have been quick to announce wide ranging benefits. Especially, electric vehicle purchases are concerned.
The latest to announce such a scheme is Gujarat. The move is expected to help in increasing EV sales in the state as well as further boost interest in EVs among other states. Joy e-bike announced its approval for subsidy program 2021-22 by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).
Students from class IX to those in colleges can avail of a 12k subsidy on ex-sh price of four Joy-bike electric two-wheelers in Gujarat. The four models to benefits are Joy e-bike Gen Next (Electric scooter), Wolf (Electric scooter), Glob (Electric scooter) and Monster (Electric Motorcycle). The subsidy is applicable on 10,000 electric two-wheeler purchases.
    Electrification of commute
Under the State Government’s EV policy outline, a subsidy has also been announced on the purchase of all-electric rickshaws. Individuals and institutions can avail of scheme benefits of subsidy upto Rs 48,000 on 5,000 e-rickshaws.
    Joy Electric Motorcycle – Wolf
Electric vehicles are viewed as a major solution towards achieving sustainable development goals. They reduce air pollution, fossil fuel dependency, energy wastage and greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, this technology is expected to develop into a key solution for mitigating climate change.
However, development of the electric vehicle industry under FAME I policy has been slow. Achieving these sustainable goals are not something that will come to fruition overnight. The work done today will help shape the future of India’s expected rapid adaption of EVs.
For now, a major gripe is the lack of EV charging stations and charging infrastructure present across the country. Recent announcements point to supporting the setting up of electric charging points. However, for now these commitments alone don’t go far enough to ensure that electrification of transportation becomes a reality in India.
Joy Electric Motorcycle – Gen Next
    Government incentives for EVs
In India, two-wheelers have been considered an economical mode of transport. And as a solution for medium distance commuting. Now, among other things, the aim is to address the rate of air pollution. Governments recognise that different cities having different levels of pollution.
And require manufacturers to get onboard with low-pollution commute solutions. This need led the government to impose strict deadlines for manufacturers to comply with BSVI norms that were mandated since last year. And now, the stage is being set for future transitions that’ll see electric vehicles begin to play a bigger role in the times to come.
    Joy Electric Motorcycle – Glob
Sheetal Bhalerao, Chief Operating Officer – WardWizard Innovations and Mobility Ltd, said “These initiatives and incentives by the government will boost the demand for electric two-wheelers. Such steps encourage us to create a strong portfolio of electric two-wheelers.” More

VW Atlas Cross Sport GT Concept Gets the Golf R's 300-HP Engine

Inspired by the launch of the Golf R, VW took the Golf R’s EA288 turbo-four and put it in the Atlas Cross Sport to create the GT concept. The Cross Sport GT routes more than 300 horsepower through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox to all four wheels, which should lower the standard car’s 7.5-second 60-mph sprint time. The concept also rides on a custom suspension and 22-inch ABT Sport wheels, and it features a revised interior with four Recaro performance seats. The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport ditches the third row of seats found in the standard Atlas in favor of a more rakish, coupe-like roofline. However, it uses the same 235-hp four-cylinder and optional 276-hp V-6, so the coupe-ified Atlas isn’t much more athletic than the three-row model. That changes with the new Atlas Cross Sport GT concept, unveiled today by Volkswagen. Inspired by the launch of the Golf R, the GT concept receives a host of upgrades to create a crossover “that could appeal to our performance enthusiast base,” as explained by VW Group of America CEO Scott Keogh.

    Volkswagen

The concept is the handiwork of Jamie Orr, a VW enthusiast and brand ambassador, who took a 2021 Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line off the assembly line and infused it with some of the performance goodies from the Golf R. Most notably, this meant an engine swap—the GT concept features a version of the EA888 turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four found in the Golf R. VW says the engine makes over 300 horsepower, routed through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission instead of the standard eight-speed auto. The GT concept is equipped with all-wheel drive, and while VW didn’t provide performance figures, it’s safe to assume the extra power allows for a quicker 60-mph sprint than the 7.5 seconds posted by the normal V-6 model. The Cross Sport GT was hand painted at the Chattanooga factory in Eisvogelblau, or Kingfisher Blue, which is also available on certain European VW products. Orr gave the GT concept a sportier stance by installing 22-inch ABT Sport HR Aerowheels with blue accents shod in Yokohama Advan Sport V105 285/35R-22 rubber. The suspension is lowered as well, featuring custom ST Suspension XTA Plus 3 coil-overs with blue, GT Concept–branded springs. The front brakes have been upgraded to Tarox eight-piston calipers.

    Volkswagen

Along with the stunning blue paint job, the exterior features unique GT badging and gloss-black trim pieces in place of chrome. Eisvogelblau is also found throughout the interior, adorning the special Recaro Sportster CS seats, custom gearshift, steering wheel, door panels, floor mats, and seatbelts. The rear bench has been removed, with two Recaros taking its place to make this a four-passenger car, and the GT gains a center console in the second row which mimics the design of the one found up front. VW points out that none of the modified interior pieces use animal-based materials.

Although the Cross Sport GT concept seems more like a project cooked up by VW employees in their spare time, it shows that the company is exploring how to make its SUV lineup attractive to the enthusiasts who snap up GTIs and Golf Rs. Maybe with strong enough feedback, VW might consider building a sportier Atlas R, since it already sells R models of the T-Roc, Tiguan, and Touareg crossovers for the Europe market.

2022 Subaru BRZ Starts Just Under $29,000

Subaru has announced pricing for the 2022 BRZ, which starts at $28,955.The standard model is the Premium trim level, and the Limited starts at $31,455.The new BRZ will arrive at dealerships in the fall, and the related Toyota GR 86 will follow later. The new 2022 Subaru BRZ, which retains its rear-wheel-drive layout and boxer-four engine but features more horsepower and a nicer interior, will cost $28,955 to start. That starting price is actually cheaper than the 2020 model, which was only available starting with the Limited trim level that cost $29,745.

A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment, and a six-speed automatic is $1600 extra—though we don’t know why you’d pay extra for a slushbox in a sporty coupe like this. The Premium trim level has an 8.0-inch infotainment screen, a limited-slip differential, and 17-inch wheels. The Limited starts at $31,455 and adds summer tires and 18-inch matte-grey wheels, along with blind-spot monitoring. The automatic version of the BRZ Limited has a few additional driver-assistance features compared with the manual. We’re curious to see how the BRZ’s twin, the 2022 Toyota GR 86, stacks up in terms of pricing and equipment, but that car will go on sale later than the BRZ in the U.S. The Subaru is scheduled to arrive at dealerships starting in the fall.
