Azani Electric Hypercar From Bangalore Based Mean Metal Motors – Unveiled

Azani Electric Hypercar From Mean Metal MotorsMMM Azani is claimed to have a top speed of 354 kmph which will make it the fastest electric hypercar if it reaches production
India is a well-known car manufacturing hub, but building supercars is not our specialty. However, there are a few Indian startups that wants to change this perception. Mean Metal Motors (MMM), an electric vehicle startup based out of Bangalore, has officially unveiled a prototype of its upcoming hypercar named Azani.
The hypercar is based on the M-Zero Concept previewed by the company back in 2015 and has been pegged as India’s first indigenously developed electric supercar. MMM now wants to go a step further by turning Azani into a full working prototype. The EV startup has revealed the car in its full form along with some of its critical specifications.
    Exterior Design
From the outset, Azani looks like a supercar straight out of a sci-fi movie with an aerodynamic profile. The supercar is essentially a mid-engine two-door Coupe that appears to resemble the shape of a stream flowing. Some other styling highlights include its LED headlamps with LED DRLs, flared wheel arches and a bulge on the roof.
    Features on offer
Once carefully looked at, the front face of the car resonates with the company’s logo slapped onto the bonnet. Details of its interiors haven’t been revealed yet but surely the company would try to create the ambiance of an actual race car. Azani would be offered with a range of high-tech gizmos but highlights of the cabin will be the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) built-in its micro-factories to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
Azani Electric Hypercar From Mean Metal Motors
These will also feature over the air (OTA) updates. Other features to make it to the equipment list include Advanced Morphing Seats, Advanced Telematics, Augmented Reality Displays, M-log Integration and Torque Vectoring to name a few.
Azani is built on a skateboard aluminum space frame chassis which is highly flexible and could be used across various models. MMM claims that this modular platform will be built at one of its micro-factories which will be set up at less than one-fifth the cost of a traditional automobile manufacturing facility. The modular components to be utilised are said to decrease supplier margins by 25 percent.
    Hypercar Performance
Tapping on to its performance, Azani is said to be powered by an electric motor that could generate a mammoth 1000 horses and 1000 Nm of peak torque. The motor will derive its energy from a 120kWh battery pack which could return a maximum range of around 530km in a single charge. Its top speed will be capped at 354MMMkmph while it can sprint 0-60 mph (97 kph) in just 2.1 seconds.
Azani Electric Hypercar From Mean Metal Motors
The first engineered working prototype of Azani is expected to arrive in the second half of 2022. We expect more details to come our way by that time. MMM aims to price Azani around $120,000 (approx. INR 89 lakh). The startup is also working towards representing itself on Fundable- the world’s biggest equity crowdfunding digital platform. More

Ram Recalling 212,373 Ram 1500 Classic, 2500 and 3500 Pickups over Airbag

Stellantis is recalling 212,373 U.S.-market Ram pickups to fix a problem with the side curtain airbag inflator that could cause the airbag to rupture. The issue affects 2015–2020 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 pickups along with some Ram Classic 1500 pickups, also from 2015–2020. No current-generation Ram 1500 pickups—which started being built in 2019—are involved with this problem. The problem is also unrelated to the massive and well-publicized Takata airbag explosion recalls of the past; those airbags had ammonium nitrate, which the Ram airbags do not, Stellantis said.Stellantis has issued a statement saying it will voluntarily recall 212,373 Ram pickups to replace defective side curtain airbags. The inflators in the airbags were “contaminated by moisture” during manufacturing, the company said, which could cause the airbags to rupture even in the absence of a crash or airbag deployment. If that happened, Stellantis said, debris could explode into the passenger cabin. The recall includes 2015–2020 Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups, 3500 cab-chassis trucks, and previous-generation Ram 1500 pickups, known as the Ram Classic. The current-gen 2019–2021 Ram 1500 is not included.Stellantis said there has only been one report of a rupture, and no injuries resulted. The company said the supplier of the inflators was also involved in a recall by “another automaker.” The Detroit Free Press noted that GM recalled more than 400,000 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra pickups over the same issue earlier this year and that those inflators were produced by Joyson Safety Systems in Mexico. The paper also reported Stellantis’s statement that the Ram’s air bags do not contain ammonium nitrate, the ingredient in the Takata airbag inflators that have been part of a massive recall.Owners of potentially affected Ram trucks can contact Ram by phone at 800–853–1403 or check the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recalls site for further information. Owners will be contacted and the airbags will be replaced at no charge at an unspecified future date.

Simple One Electric Scooter Launch Price Rs 1.1 L- 203 Kms Range

Simple One Electric ScooterSimple Energy will also be installing 300 fast-charging stations across 13 states in the coming months
Simple Energy has officially launched its first electric scooter in India at a price of Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). With state subsidies, this price is expected to go down by Rs 20-25k. Christened as ‘Simple One’, bookings for the latest battery-powered scooter have commenced at a refundable token amount of Rs 1,947.
Registrations are open for pan-India and bookings can be made through the company’s official website. Deliveries of the electric scooter are slated to commence in the coming months. Customers who have made pre-bookings will be given priority deliveries once production of the scooter actually begins.
    Simple One Electric Scooter
    More Details
During the first phase of the launch of Simple One, the e-scooter will be made available in thirteen states. The startup is currently working on the construction of a manufacturing facility spread over 2 lakh sq ft in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Simple Energy intends to manufacture as many as 1 million scooters per annum in Phase 1 of its factory operations.
The company has claimed to achieve localisation of almost 99 percent. Barring the battery cells, all other components used on Simple One have been sourced locally which is why it undercuts most of its competitors in pricing. This will also help reduce costs and avoid delays in production and deliveries. Simple Energy is also the only EV brand in the country to have designed, developed and manufactured its own powertrain.
    Simple One Electric Scooter
    Specifications
Speaking of its powertrain, Simple One is powered by a class-leading 4.8 kWh lithium-ion battery paired to a midship-mounted electric motor. It offers a top speed of 105 kmph and 0-40 kmph acceleration in just 2.95 seconds. Four drive modes are on offer namely Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic.
    Simple One Electric Scooter
It has one fixed battery pack, and the other is removable. When both are fully charged, it can deliver a range of 203 kms – which Simple Energy claims is highest for any two wheeler in the world
Despite its large size, the neat-looking removable battery pack finished in grey paint weighs just about 7 kgs. The battery could be juiced up using the company’s indigenously developed fast-charging technology called Simple Loop. This allows the battery pack to offer a claimed range of 2.5km per minute of charging.
    Simple One Electric Scooter
    Features on offer
Based on the Mark 2 prototype, the scooter tips the weighing scales at 110kg. The two-wheeler adopts a futuristic design language which has been designed using French tech giant, Dassault’s development platform. Other than this, Simple One offers features such as a touchscreen instrument console which is enabled with onboard navigation and Bluetooth connectivity, 30-litre under-seat storage and all-LED lighting. Our Best Look Yet at the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The upcoming C8-generation Corvette Z06 is expected to be headlined by a flat-plane-crank DOHC V-8 based on the engine in the C8.R racing car, but the fastest and most track-focused C8 yet will also feature some pretty aggressive new aerodynamic options. A report last Summer indicated those would include an active splitter and rear wing. New spy shots of a Z06 apparently testing near the Nürburgring with minimal camouflage appear to show those elements in action.

    spiedbilde/Brian Williams

The aggressive rear wing jumps out immediately. While previous-generation Z06s were available with optional aerodynamic elements as part of the Z07 Performance package, the body-shaped rear wing spotted on this particular C8 is a new benchmark for serious downforce generation from the factory. Reports indicate that this will be an active piece, something also expected from the aggressive front splitter and dive planes. The model being tested also appears to show carbon fiber wheels, another expected option for the Z07 package. The wheels are a relatively new industry benchmark, one that greatly reduces unsprung weight while also reducing some road noise.GM previously revealed that the C8 Z06 would be revealed later this fall, but it will likely be sold as a 2023 model-year vehicle. If the previous-generation Z06 is any indication, it should be priced around $85,000.When it is eventually revealed, its unique sounds will be among its most distinguishing features. The first teaser trailer for the car included some onboard footage, revealing what may be the most exotic-sounding car available for under $300,000 right now. Roadside clips of the car’s launch control systems we shared back in May give an even better glimpse. That noise comes thanks to a rumored 617-hp naturally aspirated engine, a number that dwarfs the 500 horsepower the motor is estimated to make in the championship-winning C8.R racer.
