Genesis GV60 Revealed, Looks Like a Luxury EV Hatchback

Genesis has revealed the GV60, a new electric vehicle. It rides on the same E-GMP platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.U.S. deliveries will begin sometime in 2022.Genesis has established itself as a bona fide luxury automaker by introducing models that don’t share much with downmarket Hyundai models, but the new GV60 electric car is a departure from that. Based on these first official images, the GV60 appears to be closely related to the recently revealed Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 and rides on the same E-GMP underpinnings as those two electric models.

Like the Hyundai and the Kia, the Genesis GV60’s proportions are decidedly hatchback-esque. It features similar headlight and taillight designs as other Genesis models, and its interior—pictured here with distinctive blue upholstery—looks somewhat more upscale than the Ioniq 5 and EV6’s cabins.

    Genesis

Genesis is yet to release any mechanical details for the GV60, but we can expect it to be nearly identical to the Ioniq 5 and EV6. These models both offer multiple motor and battery configurations ranging from less powerful RWD single-motor versions all the way up to the 576-hp AWD dual-motor EV6. Due to its upscale positioning, the base GV60 will likely come with a more powerful AWD dual-motor setup and a larger battery. The GV60 will be Genesis’ second electric model, following the Electrified G80, and the company says it will go on sale in the U.S. at some point next year. We don’t know how much it will cost to start, but it will likely compete with vehicles such as the Tesla Model Y and Audi Q4 e-tron.

    Mercedes-Benz C-Class All-Terrain Wagon Revealed

    Mercedes-Benz AG – Global Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars & Vans

Mercedes-Benz has released photos of an All-Terrain version of its C-class wagon. The car is scheduled to officially debut at the international auto show (IAA) in Munich this September.Mercedes says the C-class All-Terrain, modeled after the successful E-class All-Terrain, will strike a balance between the carlike handling of a wagon and the tall stance of an SUV. This All-Terrain will not be available in the U.S. market.Mercedes has released photos of its new off-road-friendly C-class All Terrain. The new wagon is based on the already successful E-class All-Terrain, which is essentially a regular E-wagon with a slight lift, plastic cladding, and some other cosmetic changes. Unlike the E-class version, the C-based All-Terrain won’t come to the U.S.—wagons traditionally haven’t been hot sellers here. But when it goes on sale in Europe this fall, it’ll offer customers there a slightly more rugged take on a compact wagon.

The new All-Terrain is scheduled to make its official debut at Munich’s International Motor Show (IAA) in September, but Mercedes has released some pictures of the car in its element. One shot shows the C-class with its two front wheels in the air as it crests a hill in what appears to be a quarry. That’s probably about as much as customers can expect from the All Terrain, which Mercedes specifies in a press release will easily dispatch only “light terrain.”The C-class All-Terrain will have 1.6 inches more ground clearance compared to the C-class wagon, and it’ll be 0.2 inch longer and 0.8 inch wider than the regular wagon (the extra width is thanks to the new plastic wheel arch covers). With the rear seats up, the All-Terrain will have a not entirely impressive 17 cubic feet of cargo space. With the rear seats folded, there will be space for 53 cubic feet of stuff. The All-Terrain will be available with a choice of two turbocharged four-cylinder engines, one powered by gas, the other by diesel. Both engines will use a 48-volt starter-generator system to improve fuel economy.

Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Black Colour Is Back – First Look Walkaround

2021 Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Is Re-Launched In BlackBajaj Pulsar RS200 competes against other entry-level faired motorcycles such as Yamaha YZF R15 and KTM RC 200
Bajaj has reintroduced the Graphite Black colour option on Pulsar RS200, thus becoming the fourth colour option in the entry-level superbike lineup. The other three colour options on offer are Burnt Red, Pewter Grey and Pearl Metallic White.
Price of the newly added colour option has yet to be officially announced but in most probability, it will be offered at the same price as the rest of the options (Rs 1.61 lakh, ex-Pune). The bikemaker announced the introduction of the black colour option of RS200 by releasing a new TV commercial on YouTube.
    Styling Unchanged
The new Pulsar RS200 Black wears the exact colour scheme as the motorcycle did in its BS4 era before being discontinued in its BS6 iteration. Contrast grey accents on the side panels provide a nice sporty contrast to the overall design.
The menacing front fascia with dual-beam LED headlights is accentuated in this paint scheme. RS200 is considered to be the most aggressive looking motorcycle in the Pulsar range of motorcycles. Watch the first look walkaround of the new RS200 black colour below, credit to The Sameer Vlogs.
    [embedded content]
The overall design cues are quite muscular with several creases and contours making it look very burly. The exhaust canister is styled quite neatly and compliments the overall motorcycle design. Apart from the new colour option, no other changes, neither mechanical nor in terms of features, have been made on the sports bike.
    Engine Specs
Powering Pulsar RS200 is a 199.5cc fuel-injected, four-valve, liquid-cooled motor that churns out 24.2 bhp at 9750rpm and 18.7 Nm at 8000rpm. It comes paired with a six-speed gearbox and can attain a top speed of 141 kmph. This also makes it the fastest Pulsar motorcycle in the lineup as of now.
    Upcoming Pulsar 250F
The Chakan-based two-wheeler manufacturer is currently working on developing a quarter-litre iteration of Pulsar which is likely to be named Pulsar 250F. The semi-faired motorcycle is expected to be a spiritual successor to the current 220F. It was recently confirmed by Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, that the upcoming 250cc version of Pulsar will be launched in India by November 2021.
The date of launch should also coincide with the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of the Pulsar nametag in the country. Multiple test mules of the upcoming semi-faired motorcycle have been spotted in recent months. The design is closely related to the current flagship Pulsar 220F, hence, the new Pulsar 250F is considered to be a spiritual successor of the former.
The upcoming Pulsar 250F will be powered by a new 250cc single-cylinder air /oil-cooled engine that will be good enough for 24 bhp and 20 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be paired with a 6-speed gearbox. More

2022 Lincoln Navigator Updates Include New Look, ActiveGlide Hands-Free System

The 2022 Lincoln Navigator is updated with a new look and added features.Lincoln’s version of Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free system, called ActiveGlide, debuts on this full-size luxury SUV.The 2022 Navigator will go on sale early next year.Lincoln is freshening up its biggest SUV, the Navigator. The 2022 model gets a visual update, new interior trim choices, and several new features including a hands-free highway driver-assistance system. These changes apply to both the standard Navigator and the long-wheelbase Navigator L, which has a more spacious third-row seat and cargo area. The exterior changes apply to the front and rear ends, with the grille getting a new texture and shape and the headlights gaining new pixel projector lighting elements. At the rear, the LED taillights now feature an animation sequence that fades out from the center when you walk up to the car and in the opposite direction when you exit the car.
The Navigator’s palatial interior now features a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that uses Ford’s Sync 4 software, plus new graphics for the digital gauge cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. The Navigator will offer over-the-air updates for the first time, and Lincoln says this will be able to add features such as additional drive modes. The second-row seats benefit from a new option for massage, along with heating and cooling.

For the Black Label model, Lincoln is introducing two new interior “themes,” one called Central Park and another called Invitation, that feature special bits of trim and upholstery. There’s also a new Black Label–exclusive exterior color called Manhattan Green.Lincoln’s version of Ford’s BlueCruise hands-free highway driver-assist system will be called ActiveGlide and will debut on this big SUV. It’ll function similarly to Cadillac’s Super Cruise, available on the Navigator’s chief rival the Escalade, allowing the driver to take his hands off the wheel in certain circumstances on highways that the system has mapped. A camera is mounted in the gauge cluster to check that the driver is paying attention to the road. ActiveGlide will be optional on the Reserve and Black Label models, and it will come with a three-year free trial before the customer is asked to pay a subscription fee.
Updates to the twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6’s compression ratio means it will produce slightly less horsepower than before, at 440 hp compared with last year’s 450 hp. It still has the same 510 pound-feet of torque, uses a 10-speed automatic transmission, and will come with either rear- or four-wheel drive.Lincoln has yet to release pricing for the 2022 Navigator, but we expect it to start slightly higher than the outgoing model’s $78,000 base price. It will go on sale early in 2022.

Bajaj Chetak Sales At A New High – Beats TVS iQube Electric Scooter In July 2021

Image – swift lifestyleCombined sales of Chetak and iQube are higher in July, as compared to respective number in June
Chetak and iQube are currently the only electric scooters offered by mainstream two-wheeler manufacturers. Throughout 2021, significant fluctuation can be seen in sales of these scooters.
Global shortage of semiconductors and restrictions due to second wave of pandemic have adversely impacted sales. Now another trend is evident, wherein electric scooter sales are rising due to continuous increase in fuel prices.
Chetak ahead in July, but trails cumulatively
Bajaj Chetak sales in July are at 730 units. As compared to just 31 units sold in July last year, YoY growth has improved by a staggering 2254.84%. In comparison, TVS iQube sales in July are 540 units. YoY growth is 2247.83%, as compared to 23 units sold in July last year.
MoM growth for Chetak in July is 61.50%, as compared to 452 units sold in June. iQube MoM numbers are negative at -15.49%, as compared to 639 units sold in June. Even though Chetak is ahead in July, iQube maintains the lead in cumulative sales numbers. In the seven months from Jan to July 2021, Chetak sold a total of 1,261 units. During the same period, iQube total sales are at 1,715 units.
Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube Sales – July 2021
    Chetak, iQube expansion plans
With rising fuel prices, electric two-wheeler sales are expected to pick up pace in the coming months. Subsidies available at central and state level are another key factor that will help boost sales. Moreover, as charging and battery swapping infrastructure becomes easily accessible, more people will feel motivated to make the switch to electric.
In view of these factors, both Bajaj and Chetak are working aggressively to expand operations to new cities. At the time of its launch, Chetak was available only in Pune and Bengaluru. It is now available in Nagpur, Aurangabad, Mysore and Mangalore as well. More cities will be covered in the coming months. By end of this year, Bajaj has plans to make Chetak available in 22 new cities. By March 2022, Chetak will be available in 40 cities.
TVS iQube is currently available in Pune, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Coimbatore. More cities will are planned to be covered soon. It includes cities like Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Kolkata. iQube will also be made available in a number of Tier I cities.
Bajaj Chetak vs TVS iQube Sales in 2021
By end of this fiscal, a total of 20 cities are planned to be covered. iQube will soon be available at around 1,000 dealerships. Both Bajaj and TVS already have a vast countrywide dealer network. Introducing their electric products to newer locations should not pose a significant challenge. More

400-HP 2023 Nissan Z Puts the Toyota Supra on Notice

The new Z—it has no numbers in its name this time—will cost about the same as the 2003 350Z (adjusted for inflation, of course) and rides on the same wheelbase as the 2020 370Z.But it’s upped horsepower to 400 hp from a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6.Its main target is the Toyota Supra, and it goes on sale next spring.[editoriallinks id=’70df5292-fff5-47a2-b674-bcc8a6d71248′ align=’left’][/editoriallinks]When we first tested the 2003 Nissan 350Z, we heralded its unrivaled combination of price and performance. Bringing 287 horsepower for less than $27,000, the reborn Z was an instant hit, re-establishing Nissan as a maker of serious sports cars. Now, almost 20 years later, we’re feeling that same excitement for the next Z car, the 2023 Z. Factoring for inflation, its base price—about $40,000—is that same as that of the 2003 350Z. So is the basic layout, with two seats, rear-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual transmission. But now you get 400 horsepower, from a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6. That’s the kind of inflation we can get behind.[image id=’43eae820-ab21-480d-ac20-b6398ccfa716′ mediaId=’3aeca81f-71b4-4757-bf01-60f8a5f50ee9′ align=’center’ size=’medium’ share=’false’ caption=” expand=” crop=’18×11′][/image]Built on a much-modified version of the current FM platform and riding on the same 100.4-inch wheelbase as the outgoing 370Z, the new Z—yeah, it’s just “Z” now—uses the VR30DDTT V-6 from the Infiniti Red Sport 400 models. Making 400 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 350 pound-feet of torque from 1600 to 5200 rpm, the sweet 3.0-liter features direct injection and variable valve timing, running up to 14.7 psi of boost. Manual models get a carbon-fiber driveshaft, an EXEDY performance clutch, and automated rev matching on downshifts, while Zs with the nine-speed automatic have aluminum paddle shifters and available launch control. When we tested the Z’s four-seat Infiniti cousin, the Q60 Red Sport 400, it ran from zero to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds, and that car had a seven-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The Z, a full foot shorter than the Q60 and presumably hundreds of pounds lighter, should hound the Toyota Supra 3.0 (zero to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds) in even its base Sport trim.[editoriallinks id=’f5aee27c-344d-41e3-907a-4e7b59ed232b’ align=’left’][/editoriallinks]Keeping the decisions simple, there are really no stand-alone options among the three trims. The Z Sport is your entry-level model, but it’s not a stripped-out husk built strictly to tout that $40,000 price point. The Z Sport gets the same powertrain as the other Zs, along with a customizable 12.3-inch TFT instrument display, cloth seats with synthetic suede inserts, and a full cadre of safety nannies and driver-assistance gear that any self-respecting Z driver won’t actually need.Z Performance models add some interior upgrades, like heated leather seats and an eight-speaker Bose stereo system, two more than the Sport’s audio setup, but most of the package contains actual performance gear: stiffer suspension, a limited-slip differential, and beefier brakes. Up front, four-piston calipers grip 14.0-inch rotors, while the 13.8-inch rear rotors are squeezed by two-piston calipers.[image id=’175ff40d-878b-4567-8d1d-f0ea5f4205e8′ mediaId=’8ae96de8-9049-412e-9e18-324512bd159a’ align=’center’ size=’medium’ share=’false’ caption=” expand=” crop=’18×11′][/image]The Performance replaces the Sport’s 18-inch wheels with lightweight 19-inch forged Rays wheels wearing staggered Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires, 255s up front and 275s on the rear. Besides the unique wheels and red-painted brake calipers, the Performance trim is visually distinguished by front and rear spoilers and dual exhaust (and perhaps aurally distinguished by its more boisterous muffler, though we’ve yet to hear it). The automatic’s launch control function is also restricted to Performance models.Above Performance, and essentially serving as a launch edition, the Proto Spec is a Z Performance wearing the color scheme of the Z Proto concept car—yellow paint, black roof, bronze-colored wheels, and yellow brake calipers. The Wiz Khalifa–approved color scheme continues inside, with black seats and yellow stitching and accents. Manual cars also get a special shift knob. In a nod to the first Z car of them all, Nissan will only build 240 Proto Specs.[image id=’5b11627f-554c-4b88-b2c3-b9538124e360′ mediaId=’0c814e4a-5320-435d-9864-df95bc0382d9′ align=’center’ size=’medium’ share=’false’ caption=” expand=” crop=’18×11′][/image]In another reference to the 240Z, the interior’s center stack features three analog gauges set in a pod angled toward the driver. One is for boost, one is a voltmeter, and the third is a sort of tachometer for the turbochargers. Displaying measured turbine speed, the turbo tach will let the driver know whether the turbos are just loafing at a steady 220,000 rpm or approaching their 240,000-rpm maximum. Other callouts to Zs past include the taillights (shades of the 1990s Z32 300ZX) and the basic long-hood, short-deck proportions.Just as in the 1990s, the Supra will be the primary target when the Z goes on sale next spring.[image id=’52e8223d-34f9-4bce-979a-9a9627b1150a’ mediaId=’ef97e3c9-8bd0-4e33-81e4-ed1bdc80418e’ align=’center’ size=’medium’ share=’false’ caption=” expand=” crop=’original’][/image]But this Z isn’t a shameless retro rehash or a refresh disguised as a new model. What it looks like is a deft melding of the contemporary 370Z’s affordability with the GT-R’s ferocious turbocharged performance. At this point, the only thing we’re not crazy about is the overly minimalist name. We know that Nissan is trying to look forward, not back, but “300ZX Turbo” has an awfully nice ring to it.[poll id=’c89b1c2e-defa-4fb2-8c58-3837a3d8401f_8aa90f510eb06′ type=’text’ question=’A quick vote:’ answer1=’Thumbs up.’ answer2=’Not fresh enough.’][/poll]
