DAB Electric Motorcycle Concept-E Debuts With 110 Kms Range

DAB Electric Motorcycle Concept-E. Image- BikeExif
A production version of the DAB Concept-E is yet very distant and not likely to reach outside France
With the automotive world racing towards electric mobility, we often get to witness some path-breaking designs and innovations in this space. DAB Concept-E is one such electric motorcycle that stands out distinctly due to its off-beat design. The concept is a result of an effort from French motorcycle manufacturer DAB Motors.
The brand already has a repertoire of creating some really attractive custom motorcycles and DAB Concept-E is no different. The Concept-E electric bike is the company’s first venture into EV space and has adopted a minimalist design approach. Recently, a prototype of the upcoming electric motorcycle went online which revealed some of its crucial details.
    Styling
DAB Electric Motorcycle Concept-E has been designed with inputs from the Outercraft design studio and has been able to combine futuristic design and easy performance for commuting duties. The design looks elegant and fresh thanks to the carbon fiber bodywork employed.
The bike’s frame and swingarm have been designed in such a way that all wiring has been housed within the body panels away from the naked eye, thus resulting in giving it a clean look. The overall design of the bike is an amalgam of a modern roadster and supermoto.
    DAB Electric Motorcycle Concept-E
    Features
The motorcycle has been kitted with a slew of premium features including a pair of bespoke suspension units from Ohlins. Braking is handled by CNC machined Beringer calipers made of aluminium on both front and rear wheels. It is unclear if ABS is part of the safety package. Golden-coloured inverted front forks and a full carbon-fiber swingarm are some other styling highlights.
An LED speedometer console has been mounted at the front while a slim LED headlight has been placed below a flat-track-inspired board. Since the chassis has been made of carbon fibre components, it is extremely nimble which enhances its overall handling performance.
    Specifications
Coming to its specifications, DAB Concept-E has been installed with a 10 kW (13.4 bhp) electric motor which draws energy from a 51.8 V lithium-ion battery pack. While exact output and performance figures aren’t available as of now, the company claims it to be comparable to 125cc petrol-powered motorcycles. This makes the bike accessible to both experienced as well as novice riders. Range claimed is up to 110 kms. Top speed is 105 kmph.
Further, to maximise throttle response and smoothen feedback on the motorcycle, a Gates belt drive has been equipped with aluminum machined pulleys. The bike is still in its concept stage and it will be interesting to see how many of the premium components actually make it to the production-spec model. DAB has no plans to make a production version of this electric motorcycle available outside France. More

Vespa Scooter 75th Anniversary Edition Detailed In First Look Walkaround

Image – Freestyle RaheeVespa 75th edition model launch coincides with India’s celebrations of its 75th Independence Day
To celebrate its glorious beginnings, Vespa has launched its 75th edition model in India. In international markets, Vespa 75th model variant is available for scooters such as Primavera and GTS. In India, it is powered by 125cc and 150cc engine options. The former is priced at Rs 1.26 lakh while the latter is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh, ex-Pune.
    Vespa 75th model styling
Vespa 75th model focuses on highlighting the brand’s cultural and stylistic milestones that it has been associated with since it commenced operations in 1940s. Most distinguishable feature of Vespa 75th model is its metallic yellow shade called Giallo 75th. This shade essentially represents all the various colour options that were popular in the 40s.
To clear all doubts as to what the 75th model is all about, the ’75’ graphics is boldly displayed on the side panels. This is done in a matte metallic pyrite yellow shade, which creates a clearly visible, yet subtle contrast with the body colour. This ’75’ graphic can also be seen on the front fender.
There’s liberal use of chrome accents, as can be seen on the headlamp cowl, front apron, mudguard, brake levers, rear view mirrors, side piping, wheel rims, and exhaust heat shield. Take a look at the first look walkaround of Vespa scooter 75th anniversary edition in the video below, credit to Freestyle Rahee.

The seat comes in dark smoke grey colour, which looks elegant against the glossy metallic yellow body paint. Seat is wrapped in soft Nabuk, which is another treat for sensory perceptions of touch. Functionally, the soft fabric translates into more comfortable rides.
At the rear, Vespa 75th model gets a chic-looking round bag. It comes in black shade that stands out against the elegant chrome rack. It can be used to carry stuff and doubles up as a trendy vehicle accessory. The bag comes with dedicated straps that help to secure it to the chrome rack. It is equipped with a water-proof liner.
    Vespa 75th model helmet
For a more seamless 75th model look between the ride and the rider, Vespa is offering a specially designed helmet. It matches the core theme that has been used for 75th model. The helmet has a dark smoke grey colour and chrome piping all across. It has Vespa 75th model logo on the side and graphics in Giallo 75th colour.
Other than the styling bits, Vespa 75th model will continue to use the same engine and other hardware. In India, Vespa 75th model will be sold as a limited edition. It is powered by the same 125cc single cylinder engine generating about 10 PS and 9.6 Nm. Vespa also has a 150cc engine, which delivers about 10.5 PS and 10.6 Nm. More

New Tata Tigor Electric Sedan Spied Undisguised – Up To 350 Kms Range

Tata Tigor Electric Sedan2021 Tigor Electric sedan will come in with a larger battery pack with Tata’s Ziptron architecture and range of up to 350 kms
The coming days will see launch of the second electric vehicle from Tata Motors for the passenger car market. 2021 Tata Tigor EV bookings have officially opened. Ahead of launch on 31st August, the New Tata Tigor Electric Sedan has started arriving at dealerships, where it has now been spied undisguised. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Aryan Km for sharing the exclusive spy shots on Rushlane Spylane.
    Tata Motors’ Ziptron technology
2021 Tigor EV will get Tata Motors’ Ziptron technology, which is also seen in the case of the Nexon EV. Ziptron technology offers a permanent magnet AC motor paired with a lithium-ion battery. This battery pack is both dust and waterproof and complies with IP67 standards.
The Ziptron based Tigor will receive a 300V permanent magnet electric motor which is an upgrade as compared to the 72 V AC induction motor seen on its earlier counterpart. Tata Motors confirms that this technology would relate to a longer driving range of over 300 kms or even close to 350 kms, but these figures have not been confirmed as on date.
The leaked photo shows instrument cluster with over 200 kms range with 59% battery charge left. At this rate, for a full 100% charge, the instrument cluster could show close to 350 kms range for the new Tata Tigor electric car.
    Tata Tigor Electric Range
The Tigor EV receive alloy wheels with blue accents, LED DRLs mounted on its front bumper and similar designs for headlamp and grille as seen on the Nexon EV. The bumper will sport a tri-arrow pattern as is common on Tata vehicles.
Given the fact that it receives some feature updates and an extended range would mean that pricing could also be increased over its earlier counterpart. However, the Tata Tigor EV would also take advantage of revisions in the FAME II scheme which along with state government subsidies could put in a highly affordable price range.
    Tata Fast Charging Capabilities
As is seen in the case of Nexon, 2021 Tata Tigor EV would also support fast charging capabilities for added convenience. To put this into perspective, with Ziptron technology, the Nexon EV can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in just 60 minutes and upto 7-8 hours via a home charger which is also what is expected on the Tigor EV.
    Tata Tigor Electric Sedan
    Tata XPres-T
Earlier this year, Tata Motors had also introduced the XPres-T, a variant of Tigor EV for commercial / fleet segment. It is presented in two variants of XM+ and XT+ and priced at Rs 9.75 lakh and Rs 9.90 lakh respectively.
Xpress-T uses a 72V motor with a 21.5 kWh battery pack which along with Ziptron technology, takes power and range up significantly. Earlier last month, the model was open for bookings and deliveries commenced with the first batch rolling being delivered to Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd., Kolkata.

2022 Ford Bronco Adds New Colors: Deep Green, Orange, and Hot-Pepper Red

Ford announced this evening that it will make the Bronco available in three new color choices for 2022, while retiring others from the 2021 list. One of them is Eruption Green, a deep forest green shade inspired by the 1970s Bronco’s Mallard Green color. The other is Hot Pepper Red Metallic, with Base and Big Bend models getting Cyber Orange as an additional new choice.Ford announced that it is rolling out new color choices for its still new Bronco SUV, while retiring some other colors that were on the 2021 list.

The new colors will go into production in December, Ford said via the “enthusiast community” Bronco Nation. They are Eruption Green (pictured), which Ford said is inspired by the 1973 Bronco’s Mallard Green shade, and Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. These will be available on all trim levels of the 2022 Bronco. Cyber Orange will be a new option on Base and Big Bend trim levels. Meanwhile, Antimatter Blue, Lightning Blue Metallic, and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat are going away after the 2021 model year.

The automaker will be showing these off during the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit this weekend in its “Bronco Corral.” And if you want to get an up-close look at a Bronco, you may need to visit that corral, because the wildly popular new SUV has been plagued by production delays and problems with its roof.

Tesla, at AI Day Event, Hints at Cybertruck Release Date and Promises a Robot

During its AI Day event, Tesla showed an animated video rendering of a car equipped with its self-driving technology navigating traffic and making turns without prompting from the human in the driver’s seat, presumably as a promise for technology to come. The company also showed off a proprietary microchip designed to run the supercomputer, called Dojo, that Tesla uses for all of its cars’ self-driving functions.Toward the end of the event, Musk stood on stage with a dancer wearing a robot costume as he claimed Tesla is going to build a humanoid robot prototype by next year.Tesla held an event in Palo Alto, California, on Thursday evening designed to show off the potential of the brand’s autonomous vehicle and artificial intelligence technology. The event, called AI Day, was similar in concept to Tesla’s Battery Day last fall, though this AI event was perhaps more focused on recruiting new engineers than impressing investors and the public.
This content is imported from YouTube. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

During the event, which is available to view on Tesla’s YouTube channel, Tesla showed footage of its self-driving software in action, made big promises about future improvements to the technology, and promised to develop a prototype of a humanoid robot within the next year. All against the backdrop of a new National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigation into 11 incidents in which Teslas have crashed into parked emergency vehicles while the Teslas had either the Autopilot or Traffic Aware Cruise Control features engaged.

    Tesla via YouTube

The day started off with a video rendering of a Tesla navigating traffic, intersections, and other obstacles without guidance from the human driver. From there, Tesla’s AI experts delved into detailed explanations of how Tesla’s computers parse information from the self-driving system’s cameras. Tesla has somewhat controversially chosen to use only information from cameras to inform its cars’ driver assistance features. Many driver assistance systems use cameras in tandem with radar or lidar sensors.Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the hardware currently available in Teslas is capable of being “at least 200 percent to 300 percent better” than a human driver, and that a new hardware setup will be even more proficient. Musk said the new hardware is slated to debut in the Cybertruck “in a year or so,” giving us our first hint of when Tesla’s pickup might hit the roads after its production timeline was quietly pushed back earlier this month. All of that capability will rely on Tesla’s supercomputer, called Dojo, and the proprietary microchip Tesla has developed to run said supercomputer. Tesla developed its own chip partly in hopes of avoiding the kind of supply-chain problems that have regularly forced automakers to pause new car production over the course of the last year. Musk said on an earnings call earlier this year that Tesla engineers had to rewrite their own software so it would function on the alternate microchips Tesla sourced when its preferred chips were unavailable. At the conclusion of the event, just before the question and answer session during which he referenced his “alien dreadnought” factory concept, Elon Musk appeared on stage with a dancer in a robot costume and announced that Tesla is working on a humanoid robot prototype that will be able to deadlift 150 pounds and run at 5 mph. Musk promised the robot would be friendly, but also said it was designed so that humans would be able to overpower it and outrun it. Maybe Musk is in better shape than the rest of us, but we’d be more comfortable with a robot that can’t run at all.
