Ather Electric Scooter Owner Disappointed – Says Service Cost Same As His Kia EV6

Ather 450S electric scooter service costAther electric scooter owner voices dismay over escalating service costs, attributing the issue to the transition from company-run to dealer-run service centersArun Bhat S, an avid owner of an Ather 450S, took to social media recently to express his disappointment with the service costs associated his electric scooter. In a tweet that resonated across the EV community, Arun lamented what he perceived as a stark departure from Ather Energy’s earlier promise of low service and maintenance expenses.Ather 450S Owner’s Post Sparks ConversationSharing his recent service experience, Arun revealed that the quote for servicing his Ather 450S electric scooter at the 30,000 km mark, amounted to Rs 7,500. Arun says that his Kia EV6 which was serviced at 20,000 km, had similar service cost. Work done on his Kia EV6 included AC filter replacement, wheel alignment, balancing and rotation.Ather 450S electric scooter service costArun disclosed that the lion’s share of the Ather service cost was attributed to an overhaul of brake components. This revelation contrasted with his experience with electric cars, where extensive brake maintenance is uncommon due to minimal use, especially in vehicles equipped with regenerative braking systems like the Ather 450S.Arun highlights that when earlier he had subscribed to Ather’s pro service packs for his scooter, it was a peaceful experience. But with service packs discontinued by the company, many Ather owners are facing issues with service cost. He says that Ather’s transition to a dealership model for service might have contributed to the surge in costs, suggesting that only fuel savings could somewhat justify such expenses in the grand scheme of total ownership costs.Ather 450S electric scooter service costAther’s Service Subscription Revisit: Customer DemandsDrawing comparisons, Arun noted that his experience with the Ola S1 Pro electric scooter, another vehicle in his possession, hadn’t encountered similar issues with service costs thus far. Urging Ather Energy to reconsider the decision to discontinue service subscriptions, Arun emphasized that exorbitant service costs have been a significant pain point for numerous Ather customers.Ather 450S electric scooter service cost quoteAccompanying his social media post was a photo of the service quote, where Arun couldn’t help but express his astonishment at the charges for labour and parts. The total amount indicated on the service quote stood at Rs 10,872, prompting Arun to express his incredulity at the apparent disproportionality of the charges.Ather RespondsAther has gotten in touch with Arun, who has shared all the necessary details. Arun replied, “My larger point is about the exorbitant service and maintenance costs now all owners seem to be made to bear. This wasn’t the case earlier, when the service centers were company run and not dealer run. Customers first always.”Arun’s media post has sparked conversations among electric vehicle and Ather owners, highlighting worries about how much it costs to maintain and how transparent are those costs. As the electric vehicle industry continues to evolve, Arun’s experience serves as a reminder of the delicate balance between innovation and affordability for consumers. More

Bajaj Pulsar 400 Spy Shots Leak – New Details Out Before Launch

Bajaj Pulsar 400 spy shots by The Fat BikerWhen launched, Bajaj Pulsar 400 new details puts it against TVS Apache RTR 310, Hero Mavrick 440, Triumph Speed 400 and KTM 390 DukeThere have been a few teasers for Bajaj’s “Biggest Ever Pulsar” launch released by the company. The launch is slated for May 3rd, 2024 and is one of the most anticipated motorcycles in India. Ahead of launch, new details of Pulsar 400 have surfaced on the internet (thanks to The Fat Biker channel), which show interesting design choices from Bajaj.Bajaj Pulsar 400 New Details RevealedIf there is a motorcycle brand in India that is hell-bent on completely overhauling one of its sub-brands, it has to be Bajaj Auto. The company is launching new Pulsars like launching missiles in a war zone. The next proper launch from Bajaj will be their flagship Pulsar. This time around, it will be launched under the Pulsar umbrella.Bajaj Pulsar 400 spy shotsOwing to Bajaj’s naming strategies in domestic and export markets, initial speculations on “Biggest Pulsar Ever” revolved around a re-branded Dominar 400 as Pulsar 400. However, recent spy images from The Fat Biker reveal first look at the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 400.From the looks of it, these images seem to be captured at Bajaj’s storage within their manufacturing facility. We can see bubble wrap on the motorcycle’s fuel tank indicating that it might be on the verge of being transported. Probably to dealerships. We can see a new face Bajaj is going for and some bits of handlebar and engine compartment.Bajaj Pulsar 400 spy shotsHeadlight design is unique to this Pulsar 400 and is an amalgamation of Pulsar N series and the new Pulsar NS series. The bi-LED projector headlight is carried over from Pulsar N series and the lightning bolt-like elements are from Pulsar NS series. The fascia looks like it is larger than the Pulsar N series.Bajaj Pulsar 400 spy shotsAlso larger are tank shrouds that lend muscular and chiselled aesthetics typical of a street fighter. Further contributing to its macho appearance, we have beefy USD telescopic front forks finished in a lovely shade of Gold. As opposed to Pulsar N250 with its dashboard doubling as a windscreen, Pulsar 400 gets an actual windscreen. A small one at that, though. Take a look at the spy shot video below, shared by Rohit Paradkar.[embedded content]Same engine as Triumph Speed 400?Other notable attributes we could spot are LED turn indicators, conventional handlebars like Pulsar N250, handlebar risers for upright ergos, and a number plate holder below its headlight.Bajaj Pulsar 400 spy shotsAlso visible is the muscular engine cowl and what looks like a radiator shroud. This begs the question, what engine might Pulsar 400 sport? Speculations suggest either the same 373cc engine from Dominar 400 or the 398cc engine that is seen on Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. Either way, the upcoming Pulsar 400 will be a fitting rival to other high-performance single-cylinder machines like KTM 390 Duke, Triumph Speed 400, Hero Mavrick 440, TVS Apache RTR 310, BMW G 310 R and the likes. Below are renders of the upcoming Bajaj Pulsar 400. More

2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220 Arrives At Dealer Showroom – New Features, Colours, Walkaround

2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220. Images – Kiran AutomobileSpec to spec, 2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220 only has only one rival in Indian motorcycle industry in the form of Hero Xtreme 200S 4VBajaj Auto is on a roll and is launching new Pulsars left, right and centre. However, in typical Bajaj fashion, units have reached dealerships ahead of an official announcement. The same has happened with 2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220 and all the colours have been detailed too. Here’s a look at the new Pulsar 220 in all possible colours.2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220 Reached DealershipsHow many updated Bajaj Pulsars did we witness till now? Let’s take a count. We first saw the launch of Pulsar N150 and Pulsar N160. Then we saw updated Pulsar NS160 and Pulsar NS200. Pulsar 150 was next and then Bajaj’s gaze fell on Pulsar N250 and that was updated too.2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220Just today, we covered a Pulsar N160 with USD forks update and then we have the “biggest ever Pulsar” launch on May 3rd, 2024. Ahead of the launch of “biggest ever Pulsar” Bajaj’s original “biggest ever Pulsar”, the Pulsar 220 has been updated for MY24 with new features and colourways. As for the MY24 update, Bajaj has introduced a fully digital instrument cluster that we recently saw with 2024 Pulsar 150. This replaced the prior semi-digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer and a digital speedo and trip computer. Other notable attributes with Pulsar 220 is a USB charging socket on the dashboard area with easy access.2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220Unlike the fully digital instrument cluster seen with larger Pulsar NS and Pulsar N range featuring turn-by-turn navigation, the one offered with 2024 Pulsar 220 is pretty limited where functionalities are concerned. It only offers Bluetooth connectivity with smartphone app and notification alerts.2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220New coloursNo Bajaj update is complete with new graphics and 2024 Pulsar 220 doesn’t disappoint in this regard. We see three colour combinations with the new Pulsar 220 – Black & Grey, Black & Blue and Black & Red. Remember the rare and limited Silver monotone colour offered with Pulsar 220 in the early days? Whatever happened to that lovely colour, huh? It would be so classy today on this machine.[embedded content]Specs and componentry have been kept identical to the preceding model. The same tried and tested 220cc single-cylinder air cooled engine with 20.11 bhp and 18.55 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox continues duty. Tyres, brakes, single-channel ABS, lighting, suspension and other cycle parts remain the same.2024 Bajaj Pulsar 220Pulsar 220 is a special motorcycle in Indian motorcycling history as it was brought back from the dead. Popularity and legacy of this legendary machine couldn’t be buried and re-surfaced to bring sales and volumes in the 200cc to 300cc segment that Pulsar 250 twins (N250 and F250) couldn’t achieve. Also read – Bajaj Pulsar 400 launch on 3rd May 2024. 2024 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Facelift Incoming – LED Headlight, Alloys, New Features

Image for illustration only. Credit – RoshibaRoyal Enfield is getting ready to give first major update to their new gen Classic 350 – They will also launch Classic 650 this yearRoyal Enfield is set to launch a major product offensive in FY25. This is in a bid to expand the already extensive lineup of 350cc, 450cc and 650cc motorcycles. The company intends to navigate the classic motorcycle market and establish utter dominance in this genre with a diverse portfolio.Facelifted Classic 350A major update to Royal Enfield’s golden goose, Classic 350 will be coming this year. This would be the first time Royal Enfield is updating Classic 350 since the bike ditched the older UCE motor in favour of a newer and (technologically) better J-Series engine. This J-Series update also brought re-designed switchgear and instrument cluster along with it.Updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 with Classic 650Considering Classic 350 is an absolute champ where sales are concerned, there are less likely to be any functional upgrades. However, we can expect a few experience-enhancing additions like LED lighting, alloy wheels and tubeless tyres. Test mules of an updated Classic 350 have been spotted alongside Classic 650 test mules. For the same price as a Classic 350, rivals are offering dual exhausts, a DOHC 4V head, liquid cooling, a slipper clutch, a 6-speed gearbox, LED lighting, alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, USD front forks, almost double the performance at around 40 bhp and much more.Even though the sales prospect of Classic 350 is still unmatched by rivals, it would be nice if Royal Enfield ups its game in features and equipment department. The updates that are en route Classic 350 are also going to make their way on other 350cc bikes like Hunter 350, Meteor 350 and newest of the bunch, Bullet 350, at a later date.Royal Enfield Classic 650Royal Enfield Classic 650 launch this yearAs per a recent report, Royal Enfield will expand its 650cc motorcycle portfolio in FY25 with Classic 650. The company hopes to recreate the same magic of Classic 350 in middle-weight classic motorcycle segment. Classic 650 will be positioned above current Interceptor 650 and below Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650.We’re sure Classic 650 will be the next big thing in the Indian middle-weight segment and surpass sales of other RE 650 bikes currently on sale in the Asian subcontinent. However, Classic 650 can be an opportunity for Royal Enfield to significantly overhaul its global presence in middle-weight multi-cylinder motorcycle segment.Test mules of Classic 650 have been spotted time and time again. We can see an overall similar silhouette as the evergreen Classic 350, but proportionately bulked up to accommodate the larger platform and aesthetics. It will feature conventional RSU telescopic front forks instead of USD forks and conventional instrument cluster as opposed to RE’s Tripper Dash.Powertrains will remain identical to other Royal Enfield 650cc engines. So the 648cc parallel twin oil cooled engine will develop around 45 bhp and 52 Nm. Gearbox is a 6-speed unit and other attributes like a slipper clutch will be present too.Source More

This is the second update for the streetfighter, after having received a new instrument console and redesigned switchgear earlier this year in February. These updates are in line with Bajaj’s focus on delivering max value to its customers.Pulsar N160 USD forks upgradeAs compared to Pulsar NS160 and NS200 that have USD forks in grey shade, Pulsar N160 gets the inverted forks in a light golden colour. It presents an exciting contrast with the bike’s all-black skin. With USD forks, Pulsar N160 will allow users to accelerate and manoeuvre curves with more confidence. Other bikes in this segment include TVS Apache RTR 4V, Hero Xtreme 160R, Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ-FI. As of now, none of these bikes have USD forks. In other changes, the graphics on the fuel tank has been updated with new ‘N160’ lettering. The font used has a chequered flag pattern, which highlights the bike’s racing spirit. The earlier detailing such as the dual-tone decals on the side fairing and headlamp cowl has been retained. Another key update is LED lights replacing the halogen units on the turn indicators. It can help improve visibility for other road users in dark conditions. Most other features are the same as that of the current model.2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160Earlier this year in February, Bajaj Pulsar N160 was updated with a fully digital instrument console. It has Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to pair their smartphones via Bajaj Ride Connect app. Take a look at the detailed walkaround by Dev MTR below.[embedded content]Users can access calls, SMS alerts, signal status and phone battery level. However, turn-by-turn navigation is not available. The digital instrument displays a range of information such as odometer, speedometer, tachometer, distance to empty indicator, real-time and average mileage and gear position indicator. A USB charging port was also added to Pulsar N160 in February.Pulsar N160 – Performance, specsOther hardware is the same as earlier. Powering Bajaj Pulsar N160 is a 164.82 cc, single cylinder, oil-cooled engine. It delivers 16 PS and 14.65 Nm. The bike has a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. Dual-channel ABS variants are equipped with 300 mm and 230 mm discs at front and rear, respectively. At rear, the bike has nitrox monoshock suspension. Wheels are 17-inch at both ends, shod with 100/80 front and 130/70 rear tyres.2024 Bajaj Pulsar N160Updated Pulsar N160 with USD forks is available at a starting price of Rs 1,39,795 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). On-road price works out at around Rs 1.75 lakh. As compared to the earlier model, Pulsar N160 with USD forks is costlier by Rs 7,270. It is Rs 6,906 cheaper in comparison to Pulsar NS160. More
