2022 Yezdi Roadking New Motorcycle Teased Officially

Upcoming Yezdi Roadking 2022 Motorcycle RenderAtleast two new motorcycles under the Yezdi brand have been spied testing – One is Roadking scrambler and other is adventure
Mahindra owned Classic Legends has been working to revive the defunct brands Yezdi and BSA. The company has already revived the Jawa brand in India back in late 2018 and BSA earlier this month. Initially, there will be two models coming out of the Yezdi lineup- the Roadking scrambler and an adventure bike.
Both motorcycles are expected to be underpinned by a new architecture accompanied by a higher load-bearing rear subframe and have been spotted on multiple occasions in recent times. The company has been actively testing these bikes ahead of their launch expected to take place in the first half of 2022.
2022 Yezdi Roadking New Motorcycle Teased
As seen in earlier spy shots, the Roadking is expected to be a neo-retro scrambler with some classic styling elements. The motorcycle has been spied featuring highlights such as a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular rearview mirrors and fork gaiters. The single-piece seat gets a ribbed pattern while the tail section seems upright yet very short.
The rear fender has no visible extension and flaunts a small LED headlamp while the rear wheel gets a tyre hugger. The bike will feature a twin exhaust setup with short tailpipes and canisters. Take a look at the first official teaser below.

There’s another one waiting in line ;)?

Riding ergonomics look fairly comfortable with a tall and wide handlebar and centre-set footpegs. Mechanical components including engine-gearbox assembly, liquid cooling shrouds and suspension units have been blacked out to provide a dual-tone theme to the motorcycle.
    Yezdi Adventure Styling
Coming to its Adventure sibling, the motorcycle receives some distinct styling highlights which are in line with contemporary modern ADVs. These include a signature beak upfront, a raised tail section, a taller stance and a big windscreen. Unlike the scrambler, the adventure bike boasts of a single-sided upswept exhaust canister and different radiator shrouds in comparison to current Jawa models.
    Expected Specs & Features
Both motorcycles share the same underpinnings with the frame being suspended on conventional telescopic forks at front and a mono-shock with preload adjustability at rear. However, the Adventure bike is expected to offer more travel than its scrambler sibling. That said, both motorcycles ride on wire-spoked wheels shod with dual-purpose tyres.
Anchorage will be taken care of by disc brakes on both ends with calipers from ByBre. In terms of features, Yezdi ADV will be equipped with a fully digital instrument console and all-LED illumination including taillight, turn indicators and headlight.
In all probability, these bikes will be powered by a 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that pumps out 30 bhp and 32.74 Nm of peak torque. This unit will be paired with a six-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch. The powertrain currently features in Jawa Perak and will also be seen propelling the brand’s upcoming cruiser. More

Rivian’s Second Electric-Vehicle Assembly Plant to Open in Georgia in 2024

Rivian, the startup EV maker, has revealed that its second plant will be located in Morgan and Walton Counties in Georgia, east of Atlanta. The new factory will create 7500 jobs and be able to assemble 400,000 vehicles per year when fully operational, the company said. The plant will cost $5 billion to build, with construction slated to begin next summer and the site opening in 2024. Back in July, electric startup Rivian began plotting the construction of a second factory, with rumors of a $5 billion initial investment and a colossal 10,000-acre plot, possibly in Arizona. Since then, Rivian has started production on its R1T pickup truck and debuted on the stock market, achieving the largest IPO for an American company since Facebook’s. Now, the ascendent automaker has announced that it will start building its second factory in the summer of 2022 in Georgia, just east of Atlanta.

    Rivian/Amazon

Rivian says that the “carbon-conscious campus” will employ more than 7500 people when fully operational. The site won’t be even close to the 10,000 acres previously reported, but the still sizable plot will measure nearly 2000 acres with “abundant natural space.” Rivian also says it will form community engagement and workforce training programs for the region. There are also plans for a series of town hall events in the area in 2022 to interact with the surrounding community.

Rivian will spend $5 billion to create the plant, which will be capable of churning out up to 400,000 vehicles per year. Production is supposed to start at the new Georgia factory in 2024. Rivian is also upgrading its original plant in Normal, Illinois, recently getting approval for a 623,000-square-foot expansion. This brings the Normal factory to a total of 4 million square feet, or almost 92 acres. Rivian will hire 800 to 1000 employees at the Normal plant by the second quarter of next year as the company continues its rapid growth.

FedEx Receives First Electric Vans from GM's BrightDrop Venture

BrightDrop’s EV600 electric van has reached its first customer, FedEx, which received the first five out of a total order of 500 vans. The EV600 uses GM’s Ultium batteries for a claimed 250-mile range and has 600 cubic feet of storage space. The BrightDrop purchase is part of FedEx’s goal to become carbon neutral by 2040, which also includes reservations for 20 Tesla Semi trucks.General Motors’ Ultium battery platform isn’t just underpinning the 1000-hp GMC Hummer EV and the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV with its available 24-inch wheels, it’s also serving as the basis for something far more utilitarian: the BrightDrop EV600. First revealed last January, General Motors’ electric commercial van has now officially arrived, with BrightDrop’s first customer, FedEx, receiving five EV600s out of a total order of 500 late last week.

    BrightDrop

General Motors says that this makes the EV600 the “fastest built vehicles, from concept to market, in General Motors history.” As the name suggests, the electric van has more than 600 cubic feet of cargo space, and the Ultium batteries can provide a claimed range of up to 250 miles.

The five BrightDrop EV600s are part of FedEx’s effort to become carbon neutral by 2040, and subsidiary FedEx Express is aiming for 50 percent of its fleet purchases to be electric by 2025, before hitting 100 percent by 2030. This isn’t FedEx’s first foray into electric powertrains, however. The company says it first used an EV—powered by a lead-acid battery—in California in 1994 and introduced hybrid vehicles in its fleet in 2003. FedEx also took delivery of several of the short-lived Navistar eStar electric delivery trucks back in 2010. The delivery company also has a reservation for 20 Tesla Semis and is purchasing 120 electric trucks from a company called Xos.

TVS Apache 165 RP Race Performance Teased Ahead Of Launch

TVS Apache 165 Race Performance – RenderUpon launch, TVS Apache 165 RP is expected to be priced at a premium of around Rs 5000-7000 over RTR 160 4V
Earlier this year, TVS had filed a new trademark for a more performance-oriented motorcycle in the Apache range. The registered trademark read as ‘TVS Apache 165 RP’. The Hosur-based bikemaker has now released an official teaser, which says that TVS RP Race Performance is Coming Soon.
For starters, RP stands for ‘Race Performance’ which was revealed in the short 14-second teaser. In all probability, TVS would be launching RP Editions based on multiple Apache models in the future. The first of them is expected to be Apache RTR 165 RP which will be based on RTR 160 4V.
TVS Apache 165 RP Race Performance Teased
The video teaser doesn’t reveal much except that the upcoming motorcycle will be “the pinnacle of performance”. Hence, models in the RP series will specifically cater to enthusiasts who seek more performance extracted out of their machine.
For this, TVS could be using a rebored version of the 159.7cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that currently powers Apache RTR 160 4V. It could also offer some new kits, like they offered with Apache 310 earlier this year. This kits will allow owners to tune their motorcycles as per their need.
    [embedded content]
In its current form, this fuel-injected motor dishes out 17.63 bhp and 14.73 Nm of peak torque which in itself is segment-leading. When rebored and retuned, this power plant will pump out a few extra horses and twisting force. In all likelihood, this engine will be paired with the same 5-speed transmission, however, certain tweaks could be made to the gear ratios.
    Expected Updates
TVS is also expected to make some styling revisions to Apache RTR 165 RP in order to distinguish itself from RTR 160 4V and make it look sportier than its sibling. Ergonomics of the bike will also be altered to provide a more aggressive riding posture, thanks to a lower-set clip-on handlebar accompanied by slightly rear-set footpegs.
Not just ergonomics but adjustments would also be made to the hardware configurations of the bike. A suspension setup comprising telescopic forks at front and a Showa-sourced mono-shock unit at rear with preload adjustability are expected to be carried forward to Apache RTR 165 RP. However, damping of both front and rear units is expected to be stiffer in order to provide better handling and stability at high speeds.
    Image for reference
A stronger braking setup is expected to be offered by TVS so that it offers plenty of bite. Disc brakes at both ends will be complemented by a dual-channel ABS as standard ABS. There is data of its powertrain specs available as of now but we expect details to come our way in the near future.
In terms of features, all gizmos on offer in RTR 160 4V are expected to be carried forward to RTR 165 RP. These include all-LD illumination, a fully digital instrument console, LED DRLs, Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology, a one-touch start and a wave bite ignition key. TVS might also throw in the brand’s connectivity solution called SmartXonnect. More

Jeetender Sharma, MD and Founder of Okinawa Autotech, remarked of the milestone achievement, “We are glad and appreciative to those who expressed their belief in Okinawa and therefore helped us achieve this milestone. With our dynamic product selection and unique riding experiences, Okinawa has set new milestones in the mass penetration of Electric Two-Wheelers in India since its beginning.
We’ve had only one strategy from the start: raise awareness and debunk all kinds of myths around EVs. We will continue to cater to the requirements of the purists, while also fulfilling the aspirations of a new base of the youth who have a very different approach with two-wheelers. We remain committed in our endeavour to serve our consumers with exciting new launches and curated experiences.” More
