See the 2022 Honda Civic Type R Rip on the Track

Honda shared a video of the 2022 Civic Type R testing at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. It’s expected to use a more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, and now you can hear its improved soundtrack. The new Civic Type R will arrive by the end of the year and make its debut soon. Honda’s new Civic Type R hot hatch is almost here, and now you can see the 11th-generation car in action in this teaser video of a prototype testing at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. Not only will the new car have a simpler and more mature look compared to the old car, it’ll also have a better soundtrack, something many drivers complained about during our 40,000-mile test of a 2019 example.

    Honda

Honda still hasn’t shared many details on the new car’s powertrain, though we’ll get more information soon. We expect the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with tweaks that will help it produce slightly more than the current 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The best news is that Honda confirmed that a six-speed manual will remain standard (#SavetheManuals). A dual-clutch automatic transmission, a first for the Type R, could also be offered.

    Honda

At the 57-second mark, an uncamouflaged metallic green car flashes by (pictured), and we’re curious if this color will be offered on the production car. It could be a flashy launch color or just the uniquely camouflaged prototype Honda plans to show at the Tokyo Auto Salon. Other than that, the quick look of the car is the closest we’ve gotten to an uncovered look at the hot hatch.

While the current-gen car comes equipped with Continental SportContact 6 tires, the new car will wear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber on new black 10-spoke wheels. Brembo brakes are also visible, and the large rear wing is subtler. Three exhaust tips continue to stick out the middle of the rear diffuser. The 2022 Honda Civic Type R is set to go on sale by the end of the year, so its full debut should be right around the corner. Check back here for all the details and specs soon.

The W-16–Powered Bugatti Chiron and Bolide Are Sold Out

Bugatti revealed that all 500 units of the Chiron and all 40 units of the Bolide have sold. The final units of the Chiron and Bolide could be the last Bugattis powered by the massive 8.0-liter W-16 motor. Future Bugattis will use electric powertrains developed with Croatian automaker Rimac, which merged with Bugatti last summer. With Batmobile-esque styling and an 1825-hp quad-turbo 8.0-liter W-16, Bugatti’s Bolide concept merely seemed like a flight of fancy, but Bugatti shocked the world last summer by announcing that it would go into production as a track-only hypercar with a still-bonkers 1578 horses. Now Bugatti has revealed that all 40 Bolides have been sold out, with each customer spending around $4.8 million for the privilege of owning one of Bugatti’s most radical models.

    Bugatti

Bugatti also reported that the remainder of the Chiron’s production run is sold out, with 110 wealthy customers putting in orders for the street-legal hypercar. The Chiron was first unveiled in 2016 as the successor to the Veyron and has since spawned several special editions, including the Super Sport 300+, which topped 300 mph on the Ehra-Lessien test track in 2019. Only 500 Chirons will be built in total, and as of last fall 300 units had already been produced.

Bugatti says that of the 150 customers who ordered a Bugatti in 2021, 60 percent were new to the brand. With the Chiron and Bolide now sold out, Bugatti will turn its attention to an electrified future. Last year, Bugatti merged with Croatian electric supercar maker Rimac and announced that future Bugattis will employ Rimac’s high-performance electric drivetrains. It shouldn’t be too long before we see the first product of this budding new partnership, but we wouldn’t be surprised it this marks the end of the line for Bugatti’s epic W-16 engine.

2023 Honda HR-V Previewed in Wintry Sketches

Honda has given a first glimpse at the 2023 HR-V for the U.S. market. The sketches show the subcompact crossover’s basic design but don’t reveal much.Honda says the new model will go on sale later this year.Honda’s snowy teaser images for the redesigned 2023 HR-V could easily be mistaken for illustrations on a holiday card, but they’re actually our first glimpse at the redesigned small SUV that’s set to go on sale in the U.S. later this year.

    Honda

The new 2023 HR-V will replace the aging current-generation model that has been around since 2014. It appears that it doesn’t share a body with the Europe-market HR-V hybrid that was revealed last year, suggesting that the U.S. model will be larger. It could be based on the Civic’s platform, which would be a departure from the current model’s Fit-based underpinnings.

We’re guessing that the HR-V’s powertrain will also mirror the latest Civic’s, with both the 158-hp naturally aspirated 2.0-liter and 180-hp turbo 1.5-liter inline-four engine options likely. A hybrid could join the lineup, too. Either front- or all-wheel drive will be available, along with a CVT automatic. Any of these combinations will be a welcome upgrade over the outgoing HR-V’s underpowered 1.8-liter inline-four with just 141 horsepower.Look for more details—and some real photos—to come within the next few months as Honda starts to launch the 2023 HR-V in earnest.

Oben Electric Motorcycle Spied Testing In Bangalore

    Oben Electric Motorcycle Spied Testing
Bengaluru-based EV startup Oben will launch a fully indigenous electric motorcycle in the first quarter of 2022
December 2021 witnessed the birth of another electric vehicle (EV) brand in India named Oben EV which currently possesses 16 patented innovations. The company has already revealed a working prototype in the form of an electric motorcycle. A prototype of this battery-powered motorcycle has now been spotted testing in Bengaluru.
Designed and conceptualized by a Bengaluru-based couple Madhumita and Dinkar Agarwal, this electric motorcycle is slated to make its debut in the first quarter of 2022. With EVs gradually gaining prominence in the country, especially in the two-wheeler segment, demand for sustainable mobility is being created in the market.
    Oben Electric Motorcycle Spied
The latest spy shots credited to auto enthusiast Sourabh suggest that the electric motorcycle is in its final stages of development. Almost all panels of the motorcycle have been wrapped under camouflage, however, its distinct design says it out loud. Ultra-compact dimensions of the electric motorcycle would make it very flickable and easy to handle. The motorcycle flaunts a neo-retro design with many classic styling elements.
The most prominent highlights are a round LED headlamp and a sculpted faux fuel tank. Unlike the concept prototype which received a split-style raked-up seat, the test mule appeared to boast a flat single-piece seat. The motorcycle rolled on black alloy wheels which enhanced its sporty appeal.
    Oben Electric Motorcycle Concept
Ergonomics seem fairly simple with an upright riding posture, a wide and tall handlebar and centre-set footpegs that should offer a comfortable riding experience. Even though the motorcycle showcased earlier last month was naked and flaunted minimal body panels, the same cannot be said about the latest test prototype. We expect a few other differences to occur when the production-spec model is unveiled.
    Powertrain, Feature Details
From the spy shots, it is evident that it gets a hub-mounted electric motor, however, the Bengaluru-based EV hasn’t revealed official specs of the powertrain. Oben has stated the production version of the electric motorcycle should offer a top speed of 100kmph and a range of 200km on a single charge. The battery-powered motorcycle will be able to sprint 0-40 kmph in 3 seconds.
Charging time claimed for the motorcycle will be 2 hours but it can be fast-charged in an hour using an external DC charger. Oben will be kitting the motorcycle with many modern features such as a fully digital LCD instrument console which houses multiple connectivity suites. Riders can also access multiple ride-related information on their smartphones.
Oben intends to make a motorcycle made out of fully indigenous parts which will help the motorcycle to be priced aggressively. While official launch is scheduled for this quarter, deliveries of the electric motorcycle are claimed to begin by April 2022. The EV startup is expected to commence bookings in the coming months. Classic Legends has officially re-introduced the Yezdi brand in India by launching three new motorcycles. The most interesting bit of news is that the names of all three bikes represent the class of motorcycles they belong to.
The range consists of Adventure, Scrambler and Roadster which will be retailed under the same roof as their Jawa cousins. All three Yezdi bikes are now open for bookings. Test rides have also started from today. Yezdi deliveries start from Day 1.

The former has been priced starting at Rs 2.05 lakh while prices for the latter commence at Rs 1.98 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). All three motorcycles had been teased on social media ahead of their launch.
    Yezdi Scrambler, Roadster: Design
Both bikes have adopted a neo-retro design language which is reminiscent of the original Yezdi brand of the 1980s and 90s. Some common visual highlights include a round headlamp, circular rearview mirrors, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, engine radiator shrouds and fork gaiters. However, both motorcycles are significantly different in their design and characteristics.
    [embedded content]
While Roadster offers a cruiser-like low stance with relaxed ergonomics, Scrambler is aimed more at a youthful section of riders who want to have a fun riding experience. Highlights on Scrambler include a single-piece seat with a ribbed pattern, a raised tail section with split grab rails and a luggage mounting rack. On the other hand, Roadster gets a single-piece flat seat with a pillion cowl and a broad rear fender.
    Yezdi Roadster Specs
Both motorcycles get dual exhausts, however, the ones offered in Scrambler are slightly upswept in comparison to the straight line units offered in Roadster. While Scrambler rides wire-spoked rims, Roadster rolls on black alloy wheels. Like Adventure, both Roadster and Scrambler will be available in a single fully loaded trim with multiple colour options on offer.
    Colour Options & Features
Roadster will be offered in five colour options- Smoke Grey, Steel Blue, Hunter Green, Gallant Grey and Sin Silver. Scrambler comes with six paint schemes on offer- Fire Orange, Yelling Yellow, Outlaw Olive, Rebel Red, Mean Green and Midnight Blue.
    Yezdi Scrambler Specs
In terms of features, both motorcycles are offered with LED headlamps and taillamps and a round, fully digital LED instrument console that provides a wide range of information. Scrambler offers a bit more creature comforts such as clear lens LED indicators, USB and Type C chagrin ports. It will be interesting to see if Classic Legends will offer features such as Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation as options on both these bikes.
    Mechanical Specs
Powering both Scrambler and Roadster are the same 334cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which performs duties on Adventure and Jawa Perak. However, the engine has been tuned differently to suit characteristics in both motorcycles. In Roadster, this engine returns an output of 29.7 PS of power at 7300rpm and a peak torque of 29 Nm at 6500rpm.
    Yezdi Roadster Prices
In Scrambler, this power mill churns out 29.1 PS at 8000rpm and 28.2 Nm at 6750rpm. Both bikes are offered with a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycles are underpinned by the same dual cradle chassis but again have been tweaked to meet their individual characteristics. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at rear with different travels. More

Ather Electric Scooter Prices Jan 2022 – Increased By Rs 5.5k

Ather Electric Scooter 450xAther electric scooters have become costlier by around Rs 5,500; prices may vary based on state subsidy
Ather Energy was among the first EV startups to commence operations in the country. Ather currently has two products on offer, 450X and 450 Plus. Both scooters share the same platform, but differ in terms of range, acceleration, and available features. 450X is the top-spec variant, offering a comprehensive range of advanced features.
Ather 450X and 450 Plus new price January 2022
Instead of directly increasing prices of its scooters, the company has decided to charge Rs 5,475 for Ather Dot charger. Earlier, the charger was offered at a discounted price of just Re 1.
Starting price of Ather 450X and 450 Plus will vary based on the amount of subsidy provided by respective state government. Ex-showroom price (excluding subsidies) of Ather 450X and 450 Plus is around Rs 1.70 lakh across most states. Ather 450X comes with additional features that costs Rs 19,010 extra.
FAME II subsidy provided by central government is fixed at Rs 43,500 across India. State subsidies vary and are updated every quarter based on available budget. State subsidy is directly transferred to the customer and can be obtained by submitting relevant documents. It is to note that not all states offer subsidies for EVs.
    Ather Electric Scooters
As of now, Maharashtra is among the states offering sizable subsidy for electric two-wheelers. In case of Ather 450X and 450 Plus, the applicable subsidy in cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and Nashik is Rs 24,500. In Delhi, state subsidy available for Ather scooters is Rs 14,500. Effective price is Rs 1,18,996 and Rs 1,38,006, respectively. Some states like Karnataka currently do not offer any subsidy for electric two-wheelers. For customers in Bengaluru, effective price of Ather 450 Plus and 450X is Rs 1,31,647 and Rs 1,50,657, respectively.
Other states like Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Goa, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh also do not have subsidy for electric two-wheelers. Prices of Ather 450 Plus and 450X in these states are close to that of Bengaluru.
    No updates
There are no updates for Ather electric scooters with this latest round of price hike. Both scooters are equipped with a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion, IP67 battery pack. However, usable capacity is 2.6 kWh with 450X and 2.23 kWh with 450 Plus. While continuous power output is 3.3 kW for both scooters, peak power output is 6 kW for 450X and 5.4 kW for 450 Plus. Torque is 26 Nm and 22 Nm, respectively.
Both Ather scooters have top speed of 80 kmph. In terms of acceleration, 450X is faster. It achieves 0-40 kmph in 3.3 seconds whereas 450 Plus takes 3.9 seconds. 450X is better in terms of gradeability, as it can handle 20° inclines, as compared to 18° of 450 Plus.
Another benefit is that 450X gets Warp ride mode. This is in addition to Eco, Ride and Sport modes available with both scooters. Ather 450X offers higher range of 116 km, as compared to 100 km of 450 Plus. In Eco mode, true range works out at 85 km for 450X and 70 km for 450 Plus. More
