2023 KTM Duke 125 Spied Testing – New Features, More Power

All-new KTM Duke 125 will feature a range of cosmetic and mechanical updates – Launch expected in 20232023 KTM Duke 125 New GenAs may be recalled, KTM had launched current generation Duke range in 2017, starting with 390 Duke. In the following years, the platform was used for other single-cylinder Dukes such as 200 Duke, 250 Duke and 125 Duke. As revealed in spy shots, KTM is currently working on an all-new KTM Duke range. Some big changes can be expected including an offset type rear monoshock suspension.New KTM Duke 125 MY2023 – Spied2023 KTM Duke 125 test mule appears to have borrowed some of the new design features from the existing range of twin-cylinder Dukes. For example, the fuel tank seems larger and tank extensions have a much sharper look. Some updates like the five spoke alloy design seem to be inspired from new KTM RC390.Another noticeable difference is the use of double LED headlamp. It is to note that the entire range of current generation single-cylinder Dukes including 125 Duke sold in international markets are equipped with LED lights.New versions of KTM Duke spotted on road tests appear to be the new 125 Duke. They provide vital clues as to what the entire single-cylinder Duke range could look like in its new format. Manufacturers often use the same platform for multiple products, as it reduces development cost and simplifies availability of spare parts.2023 KTM Duke 125 New GenImages reveal that KTM is testing a range of new components including bodywork and chassis. One of the key changes can be seen in the trellis frame, which now has a greater number of crossbeams. This is expected to ensure a robust and stiffer setup. Another noticeable difference can be seen in the sub frame, which appears to be longer than the current version.2023 KTM Duke 125 New GenNew KTM Duke 125 MY2023 UpdatesOn closer inspection, it is evident that the mounting points for the engine have been changed. Even the engine casings do not look the same as that of the current Duke 125. Motorrad Online claims that the engine has been updated. It is expected to deliver more power and torque. Fuel efficiency is also likely to improve. We may have to wait some more time to get better clarity on the exact power and torque figures of 2023 KTM 125 Duke.Towards the rear, the swingarm looks brand new with a lattice-type structure. It also has a bracing arm. Another key change is the offset monoshock that could replace the existing centrally mounted units on current generation Dukes. However, since the test mules appear to be in an early stage of testing, not all changes may make it to the production stage.2023 KTM Duke 125 New Gen with existing Duke 125All-new KTM Duke range could debut later this year at the EICMA in Nov 2022. These will be launched in India soon after, likely by Feb 2023. With the updates, new KTM Dukes are expected to be launched at a higher price range.Source More

Buick Could Be Adopting This New Tri-Shield Logo

General Motors has filed to trademark a new Buick logo with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Unlike Buick’s current logo, the three shields in the new one are horizontally aligned instead of diagonally. The trademark filing doesn’t mention if the new logo will have colors or be monochromatic. The Buick brand has been trying to reinvent itself over the past several years, between deleting exterior name badges and switching to an all-SUV lineup. Now, the company appears to be preparing to adopt a redesigned version of its traditional tri-shield logo. The news comes after it was discovered that General Motors filed a trademark on March 16, 2022, with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Based on an image of the new-look logo that was submitted with the filing, the three shields are now aligned horizontally instead of diagonally. The diagonal stripe inside each shield has also been swapped for a downward-swooping line, and the ring that previously surrounded the trio of shields has been removed.

    Buick

The current Buick logo features one red, one silver, and one blue shield. However, we don’t know whether or not the new logo will see the return of that color combination or if it’ll be monochromatic. After all, Cadillac recently revealed a new black-and-white logo for its upcoming EVs. Plus, Buicks have worn monochrome logos before, and the application specifically states that GM didn’t claim color as a feature of the mark, so it remains to be seen. What also remains to be seen is what Buick model the new logo will be introduced on. The trademark application still needs to be assigned to an examiner, which is said to take about six months after the filing date. Depending on the length of the process, maybe we could see the new logo start appearing on 2023 model vehicles, or the company could be waiting to unveil it on a potential future model like the all-electric Electra. The timing could be coincidental, but GM at the end of last year filed to trademark the “Buick Electra” nameplate.

    Buick

If Buick does adopt the new-look logo, it’ll be the second time in the past decade that it has revised the tri-shield insignia. Back in 2015, the brand announced a design change that at the time featured wing-shaped elements and brought the return of the three-color shields. It debuted on the 2017 Buick LaCrosse sedan and then proliferated across the lineup starting with the 2018 model year.

Police Searching for Driver Who Jumped Wrecked Rented Tesla in Viral Video

If you were anywhere near social media over the weekend, you probably came across a viral video of a Tesla Model S soaring through the air in spectacular fashion before crashing into the ground along a residential street in Los Angeles. Well, the cops saw the video as well, and now they’re looking for the driver.

The rented 2018 Model S was jumped at 12:10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Baxter Street and Alvarado Street in Echo Park, police said. After its launch, the Tesla hit two parked cars and some trash cans. The stunt was performed in front of a crowd that gathered following a Tesla meet that occurred earlier in the evening, according to YouTuber Alex Choi, who posted a video recapping the jump. The YouTuber claimed no one was injured in the stunt.

A video published by the Los Angeles Police Department Central Traffic division on Sunday also shows several angles of the jump and subsequent impact taken by other bystanders who were at the scene at the time of the incident. LAPD said on Twitter late Sunday night it was swamped with tips, asking the public to no longer send more. The agency also tweeted it has narrowed its search down to a person of interest, identified as @dominykas on TikTok. The account published a video on Sunday with an angle of the crash overlaid with the words “i just crashed my new Tesla.”

LAPD Detective Calvin DeHesa told Road & Track the agency has yet to confirm the identity of the driver or the renter, despite online speculation. DeHesa did confirm, however, that the LAPD is currently working with both Tesla and Enterprise, the owner of the car.”Nobody, from we could tell, has been injured,” DeHesa said. “There were several witnesses, as you can see in the video. Anybody that can come forward and actually put the driver behind the wheel, that was there, that saw it, that knows the guy; there’s a $1000 reward.”Jordon Hook, a musician who owns one of the parked cars struck by the Tesla, published a video on YouTube recounting the events of the night and detailing the damage to his Subaru Forester.”They came down here and hit my car pretty bad,” Hook said in the video. “They jacked up my front tires, my steering column’s all messed up, my suspension’s all blown, so the car’s done.”“Two of my neighbors saw them carry a cat out of the crashed car,” Hook told Road & Track.” One of them saw like kitty litter and stuff in the back of the car. They weren’t really being hasty about their getaway. They all jumped in other cars that came over with them from the meetup.”This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a person with a social media presence attempt to jump their Tesla at this exact cross-street. YouTuber David Dobrik did the same thing in his Tesla Model X back in 2020, though he wasn’t going nearly as quick.“It’s this trend thing,” Hook said. “Everybody’s like ‘Oh I could be seen by Elon if I do a stunt or a trick on this street!’ It’s just gotten kind of stupid.

Ford F-150 Lightning EPA Estimated Range Confirmed by Ford CEO

Ford CEO Jim Farley has confirmed the EPA range number estimates for the F-150 Lightning in a tweet after a Lightning Monroney window sticker leaked over the weekend. The standard battery provides a range of 230 miles, while upgrading to the Extended Range battery boosts that to 320 miles, says Farley. The Platinum model, only available with the bigger battery, can go 300 miles on a charge, likely losing some range due to larger wheels and taller ride height.Deliveries of the all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning are set to commence this summer, and now Ford CEO Jim Farley has confirmed the EPA fuel-economy estimates for the upcoming battery-electric truck. Farley revealed the efficiency figures in a tweet after the Lightning’s Monroney labels—the stickers displaying official information on new cars—were leaked on forums over the weekend.
This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

The mileage estimates have yet to appear on the official EPA website, but according to Farley, the Pro, XLT, and Lariat models with the standard battery will have a range of 230 miles. Upgrading to the Extended Range battery on those trims boosts the range to an impressive 320 miles. Meanwhile the Platinum model, which can only be had with the bigger battery but has a higher ride height and larger wheels, can travel 300 miles on a charge. Farley said that the Extended Range figures beat their initial target by 20 miles.

The estimates for the Lightning’s Extended Range models are on par with the EPA’s figures for the Rivian R1T, which currently is only offered with the “Large” battery pack providing 314 miles of range. The R1T and Extended Range versions of the Lightning match up on price too. The cheapest Extended Range Lightning, the XLT, starts at $74,169, while Rivian pricing begins at $79,500. However, Lightnings with the standard battery, which start at $41,669 for the base Pro model, strongly undercut the Rivian on price.

Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle Imagined – Up To 240 Kms Range

Hero MotoCorp recently announced its upcoming EV venture with a new brand name ‘Vida’Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle Render By Vinay Raj SomashekarToday’s day and age is a transition period from fossil-fueled vehicles to battery-powered vehicles. This has resulted in multiple new products being launched in the electric vehicle (EV) space in India, especially in the two-wheeler segment. IC engine-powered vehicles still form the majority of total vehicles on road.Switching to electric machines that look different will not be easy. Brand names like Activa, Splendor etc, which are the best-selling two wheelers of India, might get their own electric versions. These vehicles have not become best-sellers overnight. It has taken years. Manufacturers would want their best-selling brands to continue into the future, with electric versions.Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle RenderAutomotive Designer Vinay Raj Somashekar has now created a render of Hero Splendor Electric motorcycle. Vinay says, “The Hero Splendor is the most quintessential motorcycle in the country, period. Its appearance is iconic and ageless. There is almost nothing random about its design. Every element feels meaningful and purposeful, and the proportions are spot on.”“It’s kind of like Maggi Noodles. If tomorrow, they ship Maggi with 10% more garlic, the customer will be able to tell the difference, and will probably not accept the new version. The Splendor is something like that. It can’t be messed around with. They (Hero) shifted to clear lens multi-reflector halogens in 2004, self-start in 2010, and the seat was slightly lengthened in 2020. That’s it. Someday however, the inevitable must happen. It (Splendor) must go electric. But how?”Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle Render By Vinay Raj SomashekarIt is this thought process that has led to the interesting new render of Hero Splendor Electric. Vinay has managed to retain most of the signature design elements from the petrol-powered Splendor barring a few key and obvious variations. For instance, engine and gearbox assembly has been replaced by a battery pack enclosed within a blacked-out casing. It gets attractive blue accents on headlamp casing, alloy rims, central panels and rear fender which create a nice contrast. The standard stainless steel grab rail is replaced by a single-piece plastic grab rail borrowed from HF Deluxe. It gets a slightly modified branding in the form of ‘eSplendor’ while the rear fender gets an ‘Urban’ tag.In a practical world, some key changes would have to be made to Splendor’s structure. For example, the downtube chassis would have to be readjusted so that it can house a battery pack and mounting points for the motor. The tank would now comprise a charger circuit, master controller and other auxiliary electronics, while the side box would house a motor controller.Spendor Electric SpecsGetting more into details, Hero Splendor Electric motorcycle render here would come with a fixed 4kWh battery pack that feeds energy to a 9kW mid-ship mounted electric motor which drives the rear wheels using a silent belt drive. There is also space for a secondary 2kWh battery pack which could be a removable unit in all probability. The additional battery pack increases the single-charge range by up to 50 percent. The standard 4kWh battery pack offers a range of 120km on a single charge while with an additional 6kWh battery, this figure increases to 180km. Charging port is accessible through the fuel tank lid. The illustrator has also defined four different variants of eSplendor including Default, Utility+, Range+ and Range Max with different configurations. As of now, Hero MotoCorp has not announced any plans to launch Splendor Electric. But there are a few aftermarket solutions. A few months ago, an EV conversion kit for Hero Splendor was launched by a Thane-based EV startup named GoGoA1. This was the first instance where an EV conversion kit for two-wheelers had been approved by an RTO.Source More
