2023 Mahindra XUV300 Electric Spied Testing – Nexon EV Rival

2023 Mahindra XUV300 Electric aka eXUV300 EV SpiedMahindra is currently exploring the potential of new designs with EVs for its passenger vehicle segmentMahindra gained the first-mover advantage into the electric vehicle (EV) space when they launched e2O, an iteration of the aging Reva, a decade back. However, it soon lost that advantage as it wasn’t able to build on extending its EV lineup while newer players like Tata Motors, Hyundai and MG launched their respective electric models. The company then launched a battery-powered eVerito sedan which tanked at the Indian auto market. This is the only electric car on offer from Mahindra currently. Now, the homegrown automaker intends to re-enter the EV space by bringing a whole range of new generation electric cars, starting with eXUV300, the battery-powered version of IC engine-driven XUV300.2023 Mahindra XUV300 Electric aka eXUV300 EVA pre-production concept version of the same made its maiden appearance at the Auto Expo. The electrified compact SUV will make its debut in 2023 which will subsequently be followed by a slew of other electric models from Mahindra. The company is also looking to explore new designs in the EV segment which means Mahindra also intends to launch all-new EV models with new brand names.2023 Mahindra XUV300 Electric SUV is expected to feature a 40kWh battery which will return an output of 130 bhp and a range of 300km in a single charge. It has now been spied testing by automotive enthusiast B Vinubalan, who has shared the exclusive spy images via Rushlane Spylane.2023 Mahindra XUV300 Electric aka eXUV300 EV SpiedSeeing the success of Tata Nexon electric in the Indian market, Mahindra has fast-tracked the launch of XUV300 electric version. It could be slightly longer despite sharing the same MESMA 350 platform, developed by Mahindra Electric completely in-house. ‘MESMA’ stands for ‘Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture’.As of now, Nexon EV registers about 1,500 to 2,500 sales per month. It has a waiting period of 3-6 months. Tata is also working on launching a new version of Nexon EV this year, which will come with a larger battery, delivering higher range.eKUV100 only for Fleet SectorIt has also come to light that eKUV100, the battery-powered derivative of KUV100 will not cater to private buyers. Mahindra has revealed that the electric cross-hatch will only serve the fleet sector and that its planned range of 130-150km will be sufficient for its intended role.2023 Mahindra XUV300 Electric aka eXUV300 EV SpiedIncreasing the range would mean increasing the battery capacity which in turn would have increased the cost of the vehicle. Hence, it would not have been feasible for an entry-level buyer. eKUV100 recently made a brief appearance on the official website of Mahindra Electric. Like eXUV300, a pre-production concept of eKUV100 was also showcased at last year’s Auto Expo.Like many other eKUV100 was initially supposed to be launched this year, however, Covid-19 pandemic played spoilsport. Mahindra, as of now, is concentrating on strengthening its EV lineup in the commercial space where it already possesses electric three- and small four-wheelers. The carmaker believes that the current market penetration of EVs is not enough to justify the launch of electric cars. More

2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 VIN 001 Sells at $3.6 Million for Veterans' Charity

Chevrolet donated the first production version of the new Z06 that will roll off the line this summer, and bidders quickly decided this one would be worth owning. Before this weekend’s Barrett-Jackson auction, pundits thought it might fetch over a million dollars. Instead, it went for $3.6 million. That’s in part because the proceeds will go to Operation Homefront, which assists military veterans with their needs in transitioning back to civilian life in the U.S. The Z06, which has a 670-hp 5.5-liter V-8, will be priced starting at the more affordable price point of $90,000 when it starts reaching buyers later this year.It was expected to sell for over a million dollars, but the first retail production 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 70th Anniversary Edition ended up going for $3.6 million at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona, this weekend. That’s the auction company’s record for a car auctioned for charity, beating the first mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which sold for $3 million in 2020 to benefit the Detroit Children’s Fund. Interestingly, the winning bidder was the same person for both Vettes: NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick.Cars like attract their fair share of attention, but there was another reason VIN #1 off the production line sold for over three times its expected value, and that’s because 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale will go to Operation Homefront, a national nonprofit organization that works “to build strong, stable, secure military families so they can thrive in the communities they have worked hard to protect.”

    Barrett-Jackson

The parts used for the 670-hp 5.5-liter LT6 V-8 engine in this Corvette could be used in a race car, Corvette chief engineer Josh Holder told local ABC15 Arizona news station. That’s unsurprising since this is the highest-horsepower naturally aspirated production V-8 found in any production car, ever. Production on the new Z06 will start this summer and will start at around $90,000. By fetching $2.7 million more than that, it’s clear this auction was as much about the charity as the car.

Operation Homefront’s president & CEO, retired U.S. Army Brigadier General John Pray, told ABC15 that Operation Homefront has met more than 50,000 requests for assistance by spending a total of $35 million. Operation Homefront Tweeted out its thanks to Chevy for donating the vehicle, saying that “seeing the crowd so energized in support of our nation’s military and veteran families was inspiring.”

Royal Enfield 650cc Interceptor Modified Into Himalayan 650 ADV

Royal Enfield Himalayan 650cc ModifiedUK-based Cooperb Motorcycles has converted a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 into a Himalayan which has been named InterlayanRoyal Enfield is probably the most popular Indian motorcycle brand in overseas markets. The bike maker is also very popular in the aftermarket industry both in India and abroad. We often come across Royal Enfield motorcycles undergoing some kind of modification on the internet. Some of these custom-built bikes are curated tastefully and aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. One such example comes from the land of Royal Enfield’s origins. In the latest example, a stock Interceptor 650 has been modified into a Himalayan using an aftermarket body kit for the latter.Royal Enfield 650cc Interceptor Modified – ‘Interlayan’A video of the same has been uploaded by Cooperb Motorcycles on their YouTube channel. The motorcycle shop based out of Wellingborough in the United Kingdom has built several custom motorcycle projects in the past. Its latest creation is an Interceptor converted into a Himalayan which Cooperb is calling Interlayan 650 which is an interesting amalgam of ‘Inter’ceptor and Him‘alayan’.The modifier reveals that it isn’t a finished project and that the Royal Enfield 650cc Himalayan / Interlayan 650 is yet to undergo a few more modifications in order to become a proper adventure tourer. Still, the motorcycle has already undergone several mod jobs which have altered the bike’s appearance. For starters, the stock wheels have been replaced with wire-spoked wheels with a golden paint job around rims.[embedded content][embedded content]The wheels are now shod with dual-purpose tyres which would aid the bike during soft roading. Front suspension has been modified and now features fork gaiters. A signature windscreen, plastic front fender and beak have been added to the bike’s face. Even the stock headlight of Interceptor has been replaced with the ones used in the adventure tourer. The handlebar of the Interlayan has been changed but the twin-pod instrument cluster has been retained. Another major update is the incorporation of a new chiselled fuel tank similar to one seen in Himalayan. The aftermarket body kit also consists of metal frames that protect the body and even acts as mounting points for pannier boxes and jerry cans. The most significant alteration is a new single-side exhaust canister instead of dual canisters, one on each side in the stock Interceptor. Other functional updates made include hand-guards, an engine underbelly crash guard and aftermarket rearview mirrors finished in black bezels. The stock single-piece, flat seat has been retained as of now but will be replaced soon.Interceptor 650: SpecsPowering Interceptor 650 is a 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled motor that kicks out 47 bhp and a peak torque of 52 Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch. Brakes are single discs at both ends with a 320mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear aided by a dual-channel ABS as standard. More

Ford Blue Advantage Used-Car Site to Add 14-Day Home Test Drives

The number of online used-car shopping sites is growing, notably with GM announcing CarBravo earlier this month. Ford is now offering longer at-home test drives than competitors as a way to stand out.Any used vehicle purchased through Ford Blue Advantage, not just Ford models, can be tested out at home for two weeks and a maximum of 1000 miles once the program starts next month.Carvana and Vroom both offer seven-day test drives (with lower mileage allowances), and we don’t yet know what CarBravo will offer. You can’t kick the tires when you’re shopping for a car virtually, but you’ll soon be able to test it out for two weeks and put up to 1000 miles on it if you’re using Ford’s revamped used-vehicle shopping site called Ford Blue Advantage.

    Ford

Ford Blue Advantage offers both Ford and non-Ford vehicles, and any one of them will qualify for the new 14-day/1000-mile money-back guarantee once that service officially starts in February. Ford partners with its dealers and Autotrader on the used-car site, and the automaker also offers two different warranty levels (Gold Certified or Blue Certified) for vehicles purchased under the Ford Blue Advantage program. Gold Certified used vehicles are for models up to six years old and come with a 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty, while the Blue tier is used for vehicles up to 10 years old and comes with a 90-day/4000-mile limited warranty. Not every vehicle listed on Blue Advantage fits into one of these two categories, but Ford says 90 percent of the vehicles do. The Detroit Free Press notes that Blue Advantage features between 20,000 to 25,000 certified used vehicles, with around 80 percent of them being Ford models.Other online car shopping sites offer some form of at-home test drive, but Ford’s stands out for its duration and mileage. Carvana, for example, will let you test a vehicle out for seven days and with a 400-mile mileage cap (you can pay $1 per each additional mile). Carvana will let you test out and return a total of two vehicles, and then your third vehicle is the one you’re stuck with as it does not come with the seven-day guarantee. Vroom also has a seven-day test period (with a max of 250 miles). General Motors has not yet detailed any vehicle satisfaction guarantee for its new online shopping site, CarBravo, which is scheduled to start operating next month.

Ford’s reasoning for starting the Blue Advantage partnership in early 2021 seems to have paid off. In its announcement for the new two-week guarantee period, Ford said that the company has seen internet traffic that is 500 percent higher to that shopping portal than the company’s previous Certified Pre-Owned site, and it said Ford certified used vehicle sales rose by 26 percent in 2021. We assume this increase had something to do with the strong demand for used vehicles over the past year and not just a new way to shop.

Ola Electric Scooter Service At Home, Pickup – Quite Straightforward

Ola Electric Scooter ServiceOla Electric is following an entirely new approach for its after-sales services, which seems more convenient for customersOla Electric has quite a few firsts associated with its name. It includes the construction of largest scooter manufacturing facility in the country. Moreover, Ola electric scooters S1 and S1 Pro offer a range of best-in-class features.Another differentiating factor is that Ola does not follow the conventional dealership model. Everything from bookings to payment and documentation is managed entirely online. Once everything is in place, the scooter is delivered directly to the address provided by the customer. After-sales services are also provided at customer’s doorstep. This experience is quite unique for most users, who have been accustomed to getting their vehicles to the service centre for repairs and maintenance. To get a better idea of how Ola’s home service works, a video has been posted on the same.Ola Electric Scooter Service At HomeWhen any customer faces any issue with their Ola electric scooter, the first step is to call Ola Electric’s helpline number. Based on the type and urgency of the complaint, appropriate action will be taken by customer support staff. In most cases, a technician will first visit the location and carry out an initial assessment.Ola Service VanIf there is something that can be repaired on the spot, it will be done by the technician. For other issues, the scooter will need to be towed to the service centre. For this, Ola Electric has deployed specialized service vans. These vans are equipped with basic tools and charging port. They have dedicated space to load the scooter and fasten it firmly using ratchet straps. In most cases, the company will try to deliver the repaired scooter on the same day. However, it could take longer if some major repairs are required. Also, it is not necessary that the service van will be available on the same day. For repairs that are not urgent in nature, customers may have to wait a few days for the service van.Large service areaTo be cost-efficient, Ola Electric service vans cover a large area. They are willing to travel long distances whenever needed. Evidence to this was shared by another user a few weeks back. He had said that Ola service van came from Coimbatore to Ooty and rectified the problem. The distance between these two locations is around 86km. The owner was satisfied with the services provided.[embedded content][embedded content]Home-based repair and maintenance services can work in case of electric scooters, as these have relatively fewer moving parts. There’s no complex combustion engine, carburettors, filters and oil changes that can be quite messy to handle. Recently launched Tork Motors have also announced home service for their electric motorcycle Kratos. However, it remains to be seen if Ola Electric’s new approach to sales and service will turn out to be more efficient and cost-effective in practical terms. Real test will come when Ola Electric’s customer base reaches substantial numbers like 100k, million, and beyond. More
