The company recently launched its first scrambler motorcycle called Scram 411 which is based on Himalayan. One of the most highly anticipated models is Hunter 350.It is based on the same J series platform as Meteor and new-gen Classic and the motorcycle has been spotted testing on numerous occasions in the past. We have got hold of another set of spy shots which show clearer details of the upcoming roadster.Upcoming Royal Enfield Hunter 350ccBy the looks of it, the motorcycle looks almost production-ready with finished body panels. Like most Royal Enfield models, Hunter gets a modern classic design with retro styling elements.These include a round headlamp, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a round LED tail light, a single-piece seat, a short side-slung exhaust muffler and a short rear section. The latest test mules feature some noticeable variations in comparison to previous prototypes.New Royal Enfield Hunter 350ccFor starters, the taillight is flanked by rectangular turn indicators as opposed to circular units as seen previously. Also, earlier test units of Hunter had flaunted split grab rails whereas the latest prototypes came with a single-piece grab rail for a pillion. Another massive difference is that the latest test mules are seen rolling on wire-spoked wheels instead of alloys.Expected Features, Powertrain SpecsOn closer inspection one notices that it gets a twin-pod instrument console- one featuring the speedometer and odometer while the other getting a Tripper Navigation display. The latter is likely to be made available as an optional accessory through Royal Enfield’s MIY program. Tripper Navigation provides turn-by-turn navigation when paired to the Royal Enfield app on the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth.Apart from this, it should receive a USB charger as a standard fitment. Powering the Hunter 350 will be a 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled OHC engine that kicks out 20.2 hp and 27 Nm of peak torque.       Two-wheeler exports from India reported a marginal decline of 2.49 percent in January 2022TVS ApacheTotal two-wheeler export in January 2022 is reported at marginal decline of 2.49 percent. Exports fell to 3,74,822 units, down from 3,84,379 units at volume loss of 9,557 units.  On the export front, Bajaj Boxer is better than the best. Despite a 10 percent decline, Boxer exports stood at 1,03,988 units, down from 1,15,600 units YoY. It captured 27.74 percent of export market share. While overseas markets see plenty of Boxer, the motorcycle isn’t sold by Bajaj in India.Top 10 Two Wheeler Exports Jan 2022TVS Star City and Star City 125 take up the next 2 slots. Collective export is reported at just below 60k units. While Star City export fell, Star City 125 export improved. Bajaj Pulsar 160 – 200cc exports fell to 13,684 units, down from just over 18k units. Volume loss is at 4,372 units at 24.21 percent decline.Bajaj Boxer 125 cc export fell to about 13k units from just over 20k units. Volume loss is reported at 7,324 units at 36.13 percent decline. Hero Hunk export improved manifold, up at 10,642 units from 1,566 units. Volume gain is 9,076 units.Two Wheeler Exports Jan 2022Yamaha, Hero exportsYamaha FZ export improved at 10,370 units, up from 5,676 units. Volume gain is 4,320 units. Honda Navi, another two-wheeler that’s no longer sold in India takes top spot for the manufacturer. Exports were up at 10,348 units, up from about 6k units. TVS Apache export fell by more than a third, down at 37.43 percent decline. Exports fell to 10,132 units from 16,192 units.Bajaj CT125 exports are up at almost 10k units from 6,551 units. Pulsar 150 exports fell by 30 percent, down to 8,874 units from 12,674 units. Honda Dio exports improved, up at 7k units from 4,137 units. Discover 125 exports fell to 6,374 units from just over 12k units. Decline was steep at 47.72 percent.For the most part, a large number of two-wheeler manufacturers in India are only just beginning to strengthen exports. As such, while Hero MotoCorp sells reports lakhs of units in monthly domestic sales, exports are a handful at a few thousand. TVS, however, has a better export ticker. One of the many glories of Bring a Trailer (which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos), and one of the reasons I peruse its listings daily, is its Herodotean featuring of time-capsule vehicles. The most compelling of these cars, for me, are ones that conjure the domestic automotive ignominy perpetrated on the public during my Malaise Era Detroit childhood. Often, these splendidly vile artifacts are located in the Midwest, where endless winters, rain-soaked bridge seasons, and ruinous salt-strewn infrastructure have catalyzed a cryogenic laboratory for the preservation of oddball Big Three physical culture.

      This 3700-mile 1982 Chrysler LeBaron convertible is a perfect exemplar. Of course it’s slathered in an era-defining Mahogany Metallic and highlighted with a contrasting safety orange pinstripe. But it is the ribbed caramel and mocha leather and pleather interior that truly captivates, not least because it attempts to hide (see what we did there?) the plebeian yet innovative front-wheel-drive K-car platform with deluxury from America’s Hermès, the Mark Cross company, founded, like its French co-rival, to accessorize the horse-and-buggy trade.

      But it isn’t simply nostalgia that fuels my interest in this car, or any of these archival archetypes. It’s archaeology. The ’82 LeBaron was responsible for reintroducing the factory convertible to the American marketplace, a form abandoned punitively as a domestic manufacturers panicked and resisted (as usual) in the face of increasing safety regulation. And it features a 92-hp/131-pound-foot 2.6-liter transversely mounted, Mitsubishi-sourced I-4 Hemi engine. It was a giant of displacement among four-pots and used counterrotating dual balance shafts to smooth operation—a technology that was subsequently licensed to Porsche for its big 2.5- and 3.0-liter ’80s fours.

      The white top powers down. The A/C blows cold. The cassette player will boom any ancient mixtapes you can unearth. Is this car historical, or simply hysterical? Either way, it’s captivating, and—with bidding only at $2500, albeit with nearly a week to go—a cheap way into top-down motoring, historic preservation, and Radwood darling status.

      Toyota GR Corolla Hot Hatch Will Debut March 31

      Toyota has announced that the new GR Corolla will be revealed this Thursday, March 31.Teaser images show a fender vent, a GR badge, and a “GR-Four” badge that suggests it will have all-wheel drive.A live stream of the reveal event will be available on Vimeo.The wait is nearly over for Toyota’s entry into the hot-hatchback ring, as the company announced that the new GR Corolla will make its official debut this Thursday, March 31. Teaser photos show off the new performance model’s GR badge, for Gazoo Racing, its fender vent, and a “GR-Four” badge that suggests it will share its all-wheel-drive system with the rally-inspired GR Yaris.

      The Corolla is also expected to use that revered GR Yaris’s turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-three that produces 257 horsepower. If that number stays the same for the U.S.-spec car, it will put the Corolla in the hunt with the 275-hp Hyundai Veloster N, 228-hp Volkswagen Golf GTI, and 271-hp Subaru WRX. We’re thinking that a six-speed manual transmission will be standard equipment, with a dual-clutch automatic possible as an option.We expect the GR model to be based on the Corolla’s hatchback bodystyle, but with extra vents, scoops, and larger wheels and tires that will ensure it looks leaner and meaner than the standard model.Toyota will live-stream the car’s debut on Vimeo this Thursday, March 31, starting at 9:30 pm Eastern time. Sales declined by more than 30% last month. Honda has plans to launch new scooters and motorcycles in India, to boost sales. They also have plans to launch electric scooters.Honda has filed design patents for 3 new scooters in India, images of which have now leaked online. In the past, Honda had brought scooters with slightly unconventional looks like Cliq and Navi. However, both models failed miserably in the Indian market.New Honda Scooter Design PatentsHence, this time Honda has opted for a more conventional yet distinct design that fulfills the demands of a commuter scooter. The styling has been kept simple and by the looks of it, the scooter will be targeted at a mass section of buyers. It could be either a 110cc or 125cc offering since the design looks too sober for a power scooter of the 150cc category.We already have spoken about the Honda X-ADV scooter, that has been patented in India. Apart from that, two more scooters have been patented. One of the patents was filed on 19th Feb 2021, other on 18th Oct 2021.  Honda files new scooter design patents in IndiaThe patent images display an IC engine-powered scooter. The headlamp is mounted at the centre of the front apron whereas turn indicators are positioned on the front side panel. The floorboard looks flat and spacious thus indicating that it would be a practical offering.It gets a single-piece saddle with a raised pillion seat and a flat tail section with a single-piece grab rail. The exhaust muffler is side-slung and flat whereas the tail lamp seems to be high mounted. Apart from under-seat storage, it appears that the scooter will also offer some storage in the front compartment with an open aperture.Since one of these new Honda scooters is expected to be a budget offering, we don’t expect it to be loaded with all tech and gizmos. However, it is likely to cover all basic features including LED headlights, an under-seat charging point, a semi-digital instrument console and an integrated self-start and engine kill switch. Bluetooth connectivity is unlikely to be part of this package.2022 Honda X-ADV Scooter trademarked in IndiaExpected Engine SpecsIf introduced in the 110cc guise it will be powered by a 109.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which pushes out 7.6 bhp and 8.8 Nm of peak torque. This unit is paired with a CVT gearbox and propels Honda Activa 6G and Dio. The other option is with a 125cc engine which kicks out 8.1 bhp at 6,500rpm and 10.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. This motor performs duties on Activa 125 and Grazia.At the moment, there are no specific details regarding this patent filed by Honda. It isn’t yet confirmed if at all this model will reach production. However, this isn’t the only trademark filed by the company. Performance in the first two months of the ongoing quarter is already stressed.Hero Sales Breakup Feb 2022Of this, Splendor sits atop the sales chart at 1,93,731 units, down from 2,47,422 units. Volume decline stood at 53,691 units at 21.70 percent decline. MoM sales decline is at 7 percent, down from 2,08,263 units at volume loss of under 15k units. For both January, and February 2022, Splendor sales accounted for over 58 percent of Hero’s domestic sales.Hero HF Deluxe sales fell by 40 percent, down at 75,927 units from 1,26,309 units. Volume loss stood at 50,382 units. Mom sales declined 11.64 percent, down from 85,926 units. Volume loss stood at 10k units. Glamour sales were flat at 37,406 units, up from 27,375 units. MoM sales improved 12 percent, up from 24,473 units at volume gain of just under 3k units.While Hero motorcycles rule the two-wheeler market, its scooter sales volume is much smaller. Pleasure sales fell to 14,207 units from 23,106 units. At 38.51 percent decline, volume loss is 8.9k units. MoM sales are up from 13,195 units at volume gain of just over 1k units. Passion sales fell to a fifth at 7,196 units from 34,417 units. Volume loss is 27,221 units at 79.09 percent decline. MoM sales fell 38.80 percent, down from 11,759 units.Hero Sales Breakup Feb 2022Hero Maestro sales are down at 4,417 units from 5,899 units. Sales fell by a quarter at volume decline of 1,482 units. MoM sales fell from 5743 units at a 23.09 percent decline. Xpulse 200 sales are up at 4,270 units from 2,861 units. MoM sales improved by over a third, up from 3,132 units.Hero Xtreme 160R sales fell to 3,593 units, down from 4,985 units. Volume loss stood at 1,392 units at 27.92 percent decline. Mom sales improved from 3,067 units. Destini 125 sales decline is steepest at 94.40 percent, down to 674 units from 12k units. MoM sales are down from 3,049 units.Hero Exports Breakup Feb 2022Compared to domestic sales, Hero MotoCorp Feb exports volume is marginal. For Feb ’22, the manufacturer reported growth of 27.98 percent. Exports are up at 26,792 units from 20,934 units. Volume gain is just below 6k units. Mom export growth is reported at 22.81 percent, up from 21,816 units. Volume gain is reported at just under 5k units.Hero Exports Breakup Feb 2022Exports are topped by Hunk at 9,458 units, up from 1,846 units. Volume gain stood at over 7.5k units. MoM exports fell from 20,642 units. Splendor exports are up at 7,684 units from 6,631 units. MoM export is up from 4,030 units at volume gain of 3,654 units. HF Deluxe exports more than doubled at 5,454 units, up from 2,444 units.MoM Glamour exports are up at 1.9k units from 1.2k units. MoM exports fell from 2,772 units to a 31.31 percent decline. Passion export volume stood at 1,904 units, up from 630 units. Maestro exports fell to 342 units from 430 units.
