2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Adds 120th Anniversary Edition

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be offered as a 120th Anniversary Edition, but only 120 copies will be built. The special editions celebrate Cadillac’s 120th birthday with several unique interior trim pieces. The first CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition sold for $250k at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction.Cadillac was founded 120 years ago in 1902 by Henry Leland, and the brand is celebrating that milestone with the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition. The company will build just 120 examples, the very first of which was sold this past weekend for $250,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction.

The 120th Anniversary Editions of the 2023 CT5-V Blackwing are part of the company’s Collector’s Series. Each individual car features a vehicle identification number (VIN) that includes a year from 1902 through 2022, starting with car 1902—the white example seen here that was recently auctioned off. The anniversary treatment is purely cosmetic, with details including special plaques on the door sills and B-pillars that acknowledge the commemorative year.

There are additional call-outs between the bottom spokes of the steering wheel and on top of the shifter of cars equipped with the standard six-speed manual transmission. Every CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition also includes a certificate of authenticity and a trip to the Spring Mountain V-Performance Academy driving school. The latter is a great opportunity to test out the rear-wheel-drive sedan’s 668-hp supercharged 6.2-liter V-8, which rocketed to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and posted a 2.49.4 lap around VIR’s Grand Course at our most recent Lightning Lap.

    Cadillac

Cadillac hasn’t yet announced pricing for the 2023 CT5-V Blackwing or said how much the 120th Anniversary Editions will cost. The 2022 model currently starts at $84,940, which is about $165,000 less than what the first example of the 2023 anniversary version fetched at Barrett-Jackson auction. Cadillac says that it donated all the money from the sale to the SAE Foundation which benefits STEM education.

2023 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Has a Lifted Suspension, Knobby Tires

Nissan is adding a Rock Creek model to the 2023 Pathfinder lineup. It comes with a suspension lift, all-terrain tires, and many visual tweaks. The Rock Creek will go on sale in the U.S. this summer.Nissan is bringing back the Rock Creek trim for the Pathfinder, and the new generation of the mid-size SUV wears the rugged-looking modifications better than the old model did. Available for the 2023 Pathfinder, the package includes a suspension lift, different wheels and tires, a roof rack, and a few other styling differences inside and out.

The Rock Creek model’s front end has a different grille and front fascia, and Rock Creek badges adorn the front doors and tailgate. The 18-inch beadlock-style wheels are wrapped in Toyo Open Country All-Terrain tires. The suspension is lifted 0.6 inch and all-wheel drive is standard equipment. Nissan also says that revised fuel mapping means that the 3.5-liter V-6 makes an extra 11 horsepower and 11 pound-feet of torque when running on premium fuel, making for new totals of 295 hp and 270 pound-feet; we assume other 2023 Pathfinders will get this upgrade as well.Inside, the Pathfinder Rock Creek has leatherette and fabric upholstery with embroidered Rock Creek logos on the seats, along with orange contrasting stitching throughout. It comes with second-row captain’s chairs, which are otherwise available only on the SL with the Premium package or the top Platinum trim.
Four two-tone exterior color schemes will be available, along with six monotone exterior colors. Nissan has yet to release pricing for the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek, but we reckon it will fit in somewhere between the AWD SL and Platinum models when it goes on sale during the summer.

Lincoln Teases Concept That Previews Its First Production EV

Lincoln showed a brief teaser video for an upcoming electric concept car.The video shows very little, but we spotted a sloping roofline and possibly a Lidar sensor mounted on the roof. Lincoln’s first electric vehicle could debut before the end of the year and go on sale for the 2023 model year. Lincoln first detailed its plans for electric vehicles last year, and the company is now teasing an electric concept car that will debut on April 20. This “serves as inspiration” for Lincoln’s upcoming EVs and will likely be a preview of its first electric model, an electric SUV that’s set to debut sometime later this year in production form.

    Lincoln

The teaser video doesn’t show much, starting with an illuminated Lincoln badge before drawing a wheel arch, hood line, and a sloping roofline in white. There also appears to be a small protrusion on the front of the roof that could be a Lidar sensor like on the new Lotus Eletre. Lincoln also recently released some sketches of the interiors of Lincoln’s EVs, although the sketches simply show a general design direction and do not directly correspond to the upcoming concept.

Lincoln first electric vehicle was originally planned as a collaboration with startup Rivian—which Ford owns a 12 percent stake in—that would have seen Lincoln utilize the chassis and powertrain of the R1S SUV, but that plan was scrapped in 2020. It now seems more likely that Lincoln’s first EV will share components with the Mustang Mach-E, although we don’t know just how similar the crossovers will be. The first production Lincoln EV could rear its head by the end of this year and go on sale for the 2023 model year, when it will do battle with the Cadillac Lyriq, which recently began production, and the Audi e-tron, Tesla Model X, BMW iX, and Jaguar I-Pace.

New Tata Ace Electric Spied During TVC Shoot – Launch Soon

Tata Ace Electric will be the company’s first fully-electric commercial vehicle to go into series productionTata Ace Electric. Image – Yash MoreTata Motors is looking to stamp its authority not just in the passenger vehicle segment of electric mobility but also in the commercial vehicle segment as well. In this regard, the company will soon be launching a fully electric derivative of Ace which was recently spotted during the shoot of a TV commercial. The latest spy shot shared by auto enthusiast Yash More shows a production prototype of Ace in front of a camera mounted on top of a tracker vehicle. There is no noticeable visual difference between Ace Electric and its IC engine-powered sibling, barring a prominent EV branding on the fully covered cargo cabin.Tata Ace Electric- Previous CasesWhile it is the first time that Ace will be on sale with a factory-fitted EV powertrain, it isn’t the first case where the light commercial pickup truck runs on a battery power source. Earlier, EV startups like Etrio and Northway MotorSport have built retro-fitted electric powertrains for Tata Ace featuring 20kWh and 18kWh Lithium-ion battery packs respectively.Even for Tata Motors, a fully electric Ace isn’t an all-new project as the company had first attempted the same almost a decade back. Ace EV was first designed and conceptualised by the European Technical Centre of the automaker and launched battery-powered versions of the LCV in Europe in small numbers. However, those units of Ace Electric were powered by Lead Acetate battery packs.Tata Ace ElectricA combination of changes in Government incentives and a sluggish take-up of EVs by the industry made the company discontinue Ace Electric. Specific details on the upcoming Tata Ace Electric are expected to surface ahead of its launch expected in a few weeks. Tata Motors could provide a battery pack rated between 18kWh and 20kWh capacity which can offer a range of 120-150km on a single charge.Details of IC Engine-Powered AceIn its IC engine-powered derivative, Ace draws its power from a 2-cylinder, 700cc, naturally aspirated direction injection diesel engine that produces 20 bhp and 45 Nm of torque. It is also offered with a 694cc MPFI 4 stroke, water-cooled petrol engine with a rated output of 30 bhp and 55 Nm of peak torque. The same powertrain is also available in CNG form which returns an output of 25 bhp and 50 Nm of torque. In its IC-powered form, Ace could attain a top speed of 70 kmph. The light pickup truck is available in three broadly classified trims namely Gold, Gold CX and HT Plus.It will be interesting to see at what price Tata Motors offers the new Ace EV since it will be strictly put to use for commercial purpose. Mahindra is also planning to launch Jeeto Electric, which will take on the soon to be launched Ace Electric More

Royal Enfield is developing a more powerful adventure bike that will be based on a brand new platform and will be powered by a new engineCurrent Royal Enfield Himalayan 411Without an iota of doubt, Royal Enfield Himalayan is the most popular adventure bike in India today. However, the motorcycle has its fair share of drawbacks as well. For instance, while its off-road dynamics are excellent, it doesn’t have the necessary grunt for sharp overtakes and a spirited performance on tarmac. In regards to this, the Chennai-based bikemaker is developing a more powerful version of Himalayan which will be more responsive to throttle inputs. Recently, a test mule of the same was spied for the first time. Another testing prototype of the more potent Himalayan was spotted yet again.Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 New EngineRoyal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be a completely new motorcycle developed from scratch and might even receive a new brand name. This unit is expected to be paired with a 5-speed gearbox.Like other contemporary ADVs, the new Himalayan 450 will focus on delivering better performance in low and mid-range. Moreover, this powertrain is expected to be lighter than the existing Himalayan which should also aid in better fuel efficiency figures as well. Image – PowerDriftNew Platform- Revamped Design & HardwareWith this new powertrain on offer, the upcoming ADV will be a more worthy rival to premium adventure tourers like KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS. Internally codenamed K1, this ADV will be developed in a brand new platform and it goes without saying that the new Himalayan 450 will come with a revamped design. The new adventure bike will be underpinned by a trellis frame as confirmed by the latest spy images and is most likely to be lighter than the existing platform. It will be suspended on upside-down forks up front and a mono-shock at rear. Brakes are expected to be larger single disc units at both ends likely to be aided by a switchable ABS expected to be carried forward from Himalayan. It also seems to carry forward the same 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheel setup from Himalayan. They are likely to be wrapped around by tubeless rubber with block pattern dual-purpose tyres. Not to be confused with the underwhelming Cliq 110 that was available in India between June 2017 and April 2020, this scooter is a successor to Click 150.Unlike Click 110, Click 160 is touted to offer a very strong performance on pulling the throttle. It gets a new and more powerful engine and a few more features in comparison to its predecessor. The power scooter also receives some notable design updates which make it look sharper than before.Honda Click 160 – HighlightsThe most striking highlight of Click’s design is a sharp front fascia featuring a faired body with cuts and creases. It receives a twin LED headlamp setup mounted on the front apron that enhances its aggressive appeal while indicators are mounted above on the side fairing. The angry-looking face of the scooter is reminiscent of Honda’s flagship sports bikes in the CBR range.Click 160 rides on redesigned alloy wheels finished in matte black or gold, thus lending the scooter a sportier appearance. It features a single-piece saddle with a step-up pillion seat which looks spacious and comfortable. Offered in multiple colour options like white, black and red, sportiness of Click 160 gets accentuated thanks to matte gray bodywork on the fairing, side panels and floorboard.New Honda Vario 160Other styling highlights include a large front fender, a compact rear profile with an LED taillamp cluster and sleek turn indicators, a single-piece grab rail and ‘Click’ badging on the sides. While its overall design takes inspiration from contemporary Maxi-style scooters, unlike the latter, it gets a flat floorboard which should enhance practicality.Speaking of practicality, Click 160 gets spacious under-seat storage to go with a cubbyhole with a USB charging port and a smart key ignition. Instrumentation on Click 160 is fully digital that should provide a wide range of information.Specs & PricesPowering Click is a new 156.9cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine linked to a traditional CVT gearbox. This powertrain returns an output of 15 bhp and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm. Underpinnings on the new Click 160 are basic consisting of conventional telescopic forks up front and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at rear. Braking duties are handled by single disc brakes at both ends aided by optional ABS.Honda Click 160 has been priced at THB 63,500 in Thailand which roughly translates to INR 1.44 lakh. This scooter is unlikely to reach Indian shores anytime soon, however, the Japanese brand may introduce the PCX scooter in the country. Moreover, PCX could employ the same heart and underpinnings as Click 160. If and when launched, it will be a worthy rival to Yamaha Aerox 155. More
