These sightings at BigRock Dirtpark in Bengaluru have created a buzz among off-road and adventure biking communities.Honda 300cc ADVs Spotted in IndiaImages are credited to adventure motorcyclist, Gauthaman Ramesh. The sub-400cc adventure segment has been gaining significant traction in India over the past few years, drawing the attention of major manufacturers. This segment’s growth is prompting brands to consider introducing models that are already popular in international markets. Honda’s recent sightings suggest that the company might be exploring similar opportunities.Honda CRF 300 ADV Showcased In IndiaThe sighting of these bikes follows the recent spottings of the Kawasaki KLX230 S, indicating heightened interest from Japanese manufacturers in India’s adventure bike segment. However, it’s important to note that the Honda CRF300L had been spotted in India around two years ago, leading to similar speculation at the time, but no official launch followed those sightings.Specifications and FeaturesBoth the CRF300L and the CRF300L Rally are powered by a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 27.3 PS of power and 26.6 Nm of torque. Despite sharing the same engine, the two models differ in their configurations and intended uses.Honda CRF 300 ADV Showcased In IndiaThe CRF300L Rally is designed with a high-rise handlebar, an LCD instrument console positioned above the handlebar for rally-style riding, a tall windscreen, dual-LED headlight setup, a sump guard, and tank extensions, making it more suitable for long-distance and rugged terrains.Honda CRF 300 ADV Showcased In IndiaImport and SpeculationThe current sightings are believed to be private imports by customers rather than indicative of an imminent official launch. Without an official statement from Honda, the possibility of these models being introduced in the Indian market remains uncertain. If Honda does decide to launch these models in India, they are expected to be available through the Completely Built Up (CBU) route.Based on the US market prices, where the CRF300L and CRF300L Rally are priced at $5,449 and $6,199 respectively, industry experts estimate that if these bikes are launched in India via the CBU route, their prices could be in the Rs 4-5 lakh range. This pricing strategy would align with other models brought to India through the CBU route, such as the Yamaha R3 and the MT-03, which are priced in a similar price bracket. If launched via the CKD route, these new Honda ADVs could be priced competitively. This will help them take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, which is also seen in the video parked next to the Honda 300 cc ADVs. More

Upcoming Bajaj CNG Bike Launch Delayed – New Date Revealed

Bajaj CNG Bike Launch DelayedIf affordably priced, Bajaj CNG bike can give tough competition to the current set of popular commuter bikesBajaj is known to rely on innovation and cutting-edge technology to drive its growth story. A relevant example is the upcoming Bajaj CNG bikes that will have both petrol and CNG tanks. Users can expect to significantly reduce their running cost. The launch, however, has been pushed ahead by a whole month, now breaking covers on July 17th.Bajaj CNG Bike Launch Delayed – Launch next monthEarlier, it was expected that the first Bajaj CNG bike will launch on June 18th. However, the launch has been delayed by around a month. Bajaj CNG bike launch is likely to take place on 17th July. Bajaj Auto Exec Director, Rakesh Sharma, confirmed this revelation to a publication recently. This unnamed Bajaj CNG bike will be the first-of-its-kind production model in India. While a CNG-only bike could also have worked, Bajaj has opted for a bi-fuel system. Quite similar to the bi-fuel petrol + CNG option seen with cars. It is a good move, considering CNG fuel stations are just not as many as standard petrol/diesel fuel pumps. As a petrol tank is fitted alongside the CNG tank, users won’t have to worry about getting stranded. With a simple valve mechanism, users will be able to switch from one fuel to another easily. The decision can be based on the availability of CNG fuel stations. For example, CNG fuel stations are relatively fewer across rural areas.Bajaj CNG Bike Blueprint LeakedUsers can also choose the petrol option when they are negotiating challenging terrains that require more power and torque. Carrying heavy loads can also prompt users to choose the petrol option. CNG’s lower energy density, higher air-to-fuel ratio and combustion characteristics reduce the power and torque output.Bajaj CNG bike – Key featuresAs revealed recently via design blueprints, Bajaj has introduced significant innovation to accommodate both the CNG and petrol tanks. The CNG tank has been placed along the length of the bike. For this, the bike uses a sloper engine design instead of the standard vertical engine format. The petrol fuel tank is placed in its standard top position.Bajaj must have worked to ensure that the fuel switching mechanism works flawlessly. Special safety mechanisms must have been put in place for the bi-fuel CNG bike. Some engine tweaks may have become necessary to support both petrol and CNG. Engine specs have not been revealed, although the first CNG bike is expected to be equipped with a 125cc engine.Bajaj CNG Motorcycle Spied – Highest Mileage? This upcoming motorcycle will come with a 5-speed gearbox too. Based on spy shots, it is speculated that Bajaj is working on two versions of its CNG bike – One for urban areas and the other for rural areas. The latter is designed for heavy-duty work, with features such as a handlebar brace, sump guard and knuckle guard. To motivate customers, Bajaj could launch its first CNG bike at an affordable introductory price point. An initial, limited-period offer price of around Rs 80,000 seems plausible. This is in-keeping with Bajaj’s aggressive pricing strategies we saw with Pulsar NS400Z.Source More

New Hyundai Inster EV Teased With 355km Range – Punch EV Rival?

Hyundai Inster EV TeasedHyundai Inster EV is not confirmed for India, but similar powertrain might make its way to upcoming Exter EV and rival Punch EVElectric cars are currently gaining popularity in India and is among the priorities for most car manufacturers. Hyundai seems to be diving in at the idea with Creta EV, speculated to be launched in early 2025. What about the A-segment where faster adoption of E-mobility makes more sense? Recently teased Hyundai Inster gives us an idea.Hyundai Inster EV Teased – Design and AppealEver wondered what an electric version of Hyundai Casper would look like? Hyundai just gave us the answer in the form of Inster EV. If you’re wondering if Exter means outdoorsy adventure lifestyle and Inster means something to be driven inside the city, that would be wrong. In fact, Inster name has nothing to do with Exter at all.Hyundai Inster EV NameAccording to Hyundai, Inster name is inspired by the words “intimate” and “innovative”, combined with Casper name, the vehicle on which it is based. As of now, Casper is Korea only and Hyundai is tight-lipped about the intended markets for the recently teased Inster EV.Hyundai Inster EV Casper’s SilhouetteCasper was first introduced in 2021 and the upcoming Inster will carry a similar silhouette as seen in Hyundai’s teaser image. Inster will get a unique fascia, but is reminiscent of Casper. We can see a similar bonnet, windscreen and overall side silhouette. Charging port is at the front, but not centred, like in Punch EV.Hyundai Inster EV Vs CasperInster boasts new pixel-style quad-element circular LED DRLs and pixel-style 7-element LED turn indicators too. Tail lights get a pixel effect as well. Alloy wheels of Hyundai Inster look unique, though. Just like Casper, Inster will come equipped with crossover bits like roof rails, body cladding and reasonably high ground clearance.According to Hyundai, INSTER is poised to set new standards in driving range and technology, and safety features. Speaking of range, company has revealed that Inster will do 355 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Battery and motor specs were not disclosed.Hyundai Inster EV FasciaShould Hyundai launch it in India?India has been embracing e-mobility solutions at a decent pace. More companies have been exploring EVs today, than they ever did, in India. Hyundai is one of the companies selling electric cars in India. Soon, the company will explore electric mobility solutions in the mainstream segment.Currently, Hyundai Kona price starts from Rs. 23.84 lakh (Ex-sh) and Creta EV, when launched, is likely to start upwards of Rs. 16 lakh (Ex-sh). Lion’s share of India’s electric car sales is from smaller electric vehicles like Punch EV, Tiago EV and MG’s Comet EV. So, targeting this space is paramount for any OEMs to push more volumes.Hyundai Inster EV Charging PortEven though the South Korean brand has not confirmed Inster for India (yet), it makes perfect sense. Inster’s crossover design looks miles better than Exter launched in India and it would naturally target Punch EV, which is currently the hottest EV in mainstream segment. Or, the powertrain from this Inster EV will be similar to what we will get in Exter EV in the future. Or Kia Clavis EV or Syros EV.Hyundai Inster EV LED DRLs More

Tata EV Discounts June 2024 Up To Rs 1.35 Lakh – Punch EV, Nexon EV, Tiago EV

Image – JayarajThe test mule sighting frequency of Curvv EV, Harrier EV and Safari EV are increasing, suggesting nearing launch, probably in 2025One of India’s largest car manufacturers, Tata Motors, is only verge of launching Curvv compact SUV and introduce electric versions of Harrier and Safari. The company just launched its new hot hatchback, Altroz Racer, too. Now, Tata Motors is offering attractive offers to their electric portfolio across hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs. Let’s take a look.Tata EV Discounts June 2024 – Which car gets the most discount? The benefits and discounts Tata Motors is offering to buyers are not uniform across their portfolio. Some popular and hot-selling vehicles get the least discounts, while the slower-selling offerings get more discounts to clear stocks. In June 2024, Tata is offering the highest discounts on MY23 Nexon EV of up to Rs. 1.35 lakh.2024 Tata Tiago EV LaunchedTiago EVWhere Tiago EV discounts are concerned, all MY23 variants get a flat Rs 95,000 benefits. For MY24 Tiago EV MR variants, benefits are up to Rs 60,000 and with Tiago EV LR variants, it is Rs 75,000. Official Ex-sh prices for Tiago EV range between Rs 7.99 lakh and Rs 11.89 lakh.Tata Punch.ev On-road Prices ComparedPunch EVNext in line for the discounts is Tata’s current (electric) rockstar, Punch EV. However, ICE version of Tata Punch does not get any benefits as we covered in a recent post. All the attractive discounts are only with Punch EV. Sure, Rs 10,000 worth of benefits is not exactly attractive and it is the lowest discount among Tata Motors EVs listed on this list.New Tata Nexon EVNexon / Nexon EVAcross this list, Tata Nexon E SUV registered the highest discounts this month (June 2024). The MY23 Nexon EV gets discounts of up to Rs 1.35 lakh. However, the newer MY24 Nexon EV units get only Rs 85,000 worth of discounts. Interestingly, 2024 Nexon EV Creative+ MR variant doesn’t get this Rs 85,000 discount.Along with Harrier EV, Tata is also planning the launch of Curvv EV and Safari EVUpcoming EVs from TataThe company is gearing up to introduce their first-ever compact SUV in the near future in the form of Curvv. Tata will launch both ICE and EV versions of Curvv. Speculations suggest Curvv EV to launch first, alongside Curvv Diesel. While Curvv Petrol will launch later, featuring a new 125 PS and 175 Nm tune based on Nexon’s 1.2L 3-cyl turbo petrol motor.Harrier and Safari are getting EV versions as well, featuring (larger than Nexon) battery pack that could promise 500 km of range from a single charge. Single-motor and dual-motor AWD layouts will be offered too. Testing for the same has commenced and sighting frequency has been increased as well. More

KTM Big Bikes India-Bound As Imports – Similar Direction For Husqvarna

KTM Big Bikes To Be Launched In India Soon – 790 AdventureWhen launched, new KTM big bikes will go head to head with offerings from Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, Benelli, Royal Enfield and the likesTeam Orange has been one of the most revered premium motorcycle manufacturers in the world. Based out of Austria, KTM has been active in India too, in partnership with Bajaj. Where big bikes are concerned (500cc+ motorcycles), KTM had models on sale for a short period. Now, the company is gearing up to launch its big bikes in India once again.KTM Big Bikes India-Bound – What to Expect? One of India’s leading premium bike manufacturers, KTM, has been at the forefront of catering to enthusiasts in the Asian subcontinent. With a strategic partnership with Bajaj Auto, KTM has thrived in Indian market with their 200, 250, 390 and 125 platform spawning multiple body styles.Where big bikes are concerned, the company has sold 100 units of 790 Duke in India. All 100 were brought in via the CBU route and were sold at a premium price. These 100 units, however, were a tough sell and the last of these 100 KTM 700 Duke offerings were sold at a steal price with heavy discounts. After burning their hands in the big bike realm, KTM stuck to small-capacity single-cylinder offerings like they always had. Primary reasons for this unfavourable sales stunt could have been a lack of premium dealerships and severe design and size resemblance to their smaller and cheaper single-cylinder offerings.2023 KTM 890 AdventureAs per a recent report, KTM has reconsidered launching some of their big bikes in India. The shift in buyer trends, ambition for owning a bigger bike, booming economy and a few other reasons might be the convincing attributes for KTM to take this route. Only, KTM is more ambitious about their big bikes, this time around. So, there will be dedicated KTM premium dealerships in select cities and these big bikes will be sold exclusively through these outlets. Further down the line, a few regular KTM dealers (depending on the area) will also be eligible to sell select big bikes from KTM.Which big bikes will make their way to India?Considering the market and analysing 500cc+ motorcycle sales, KTM 790 Duke, entry point to company’s big bikes, still makes a lot of sense. Alongside that, 990 Duke, 790 Adventure and 890 Adventure might draw buyers as well. Possibility of KTM launching their flagship 1390-based motorcycles is slightly thin.2024 KTM 990 DukeApart from KTM big bikes, we can expect Husqvarna big bikes too. Offerings like Svartpilen 801 and Norden 901 (Duke 790 and 890 Adventure counterparts) might make their way to India.KTM currently sell 125 Duke, RC 125, 200 Duke, RC 200, 250 Duke, 250 Adventure, 390 Duke, 390 Adventure and RC 390. The newest of the bunch is the 2024 390 Duke, featuring the new 399cc engine. RC 390 and 390 Adventure are yet to receive this update. Along with these, KTM is on the verge of introducing a new Enduro lineup based on 390 platform.Source More
