2025 KTM 390 Adventure TFT Screen Spied – Himalayan 450-Like Position

2025 KTM 390 Adventure TFT Screen SpiedRE Himalayan 450, Yezdi Adventure, Triumph Scrambler 400X and upcoming Hero Xpulse 440 are some of 2025 KTM 390 Adventure’s main rivalsRoyal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been making headlines recently. Not for good reasons, of course. But the bike has been one of the most popular in Indian motorcycling community and is a unique offering. Hero MotoCorp and KTM are prepping their challengers to rival Himalayan 450. KTM’s 2025 390 Adventure is taking production-spec shape as seen with recent spy shots.2025 KTM 390 Adventure – The next big thing in single-cyl ADVs?It is no secret that KTM is coming up with their next-gen Adventure motorcycle based on the new 390 platform that we saw with 2024 390 Duke. Currently, 2024 390 Duke is the only motorcycle to feature this new 399cc engine. Other 390 offerings like RC 390 and 390 Adventure continue with the old 373 platform.2025 KTM 390 AdventureAs seen in the recent spy shots from adventure_journey_, we can see an almost production-spec 390 Adventure that has made a couple of appearances before. The recent spy shots show minimal camouflage on the test mule and most components look like they are production-ready.For starters, KTM is cooking two versions of 2025 390 Adventure. One version gets smaller wheels that are likely to be 19 incher at the front and 17 incher at the rear, wrapped with fatter tyres. These are still wire-spoke wheels and might support tubeless tyres. This is the version that has been spotted in India and in the recent spy shots.2025 KTM 390 AdventureThere is another version of 390 Adventure with more off-roading prowess with higher ground clearance, bigger 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, skinny off-road tyres and the likes. This version is yet to be make its appearance in India. This is not to be confused with the 390 Enduro (name not confirmed) that has been spotted testing in India.Other notable cycle parts of the recently spotted 2025 KTM 390 Adventure are adjustable USD telescopic front forks, adjustable mono-shock at the rear, underbelly exhaust, new banana-shaped swingarm and others. All these are mounted on a similar main frame as 390 Duke. Design-wise, we get a tall windscreen, a front beak and a single-piece seat.2025 KTM 390 Adventure – Side390 Adventure TFT ScreenErgonomics seem to be pretty upright and footpeg positioning for rider seems to be slightly rear-set. Rider’s seat height looks like it is around 830mm. We can see the new TFT instrument cluster that is positioned higher to fall in rider’s peripheral vision, just like Himalayan 450.More off-road version of 390 Adventure spied abroadThe new 399cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4V single-cylinder engine makes 45 bhp of peak power and 40 Nm of peak torque on 390 Duke. KTM might tune the engine slightly to establish different character for 390 Adventure. 6-speed gearbox, slip and assist clutch, ride-by-wire, cruise control, traction control, dual-channel ABS and other features are likely. We hope the more off-road-worthy 390 Adventure version launches in India too.Source More

2024 Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Rendered – 7 New Colours, Logo

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 RenderWhen launched, Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will rival Speed 400, Hero-Harley 440, 390 Duke, Pulsar NS400Z, Yezdi Roadster and the likesWith the Himalayan 450, Royal Enfield flexed its newfound R&D muscle to the world. From offering barebones machines to selling the most feature-packed motorcycle in the segment, Royal Enfield has come a long way with its 450 platform. Royal Enfield’s upcoming Guerrilla 450 will be an embodiment of this ethos and here’s how it might look when launched.Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 RenderedOn the surface, Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will be a street naked or roadster version of Himalayan 450 motorcycle on sale. However, there is a lot more riding on Guerrilla 450 than just being a stripped-down version of Himalayan 450. There are a lot of niggles and negatives seen on this new 450 platform with Himalayan 450.Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 RenderGuerrilla 450 is expected to iron out all of these niggles and offer a much more cohesive and seamless experience. So, no pressure, then. Launch is right around the corner and Guerrilla 450 is also expected to cost a lot less than Himalayan 450, which can go very close to Rs. 4 lakh (OTR, Karnataka).Rushlane’s render of Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, penned down by rendering artist Pratyush Rout, is based on the innumerous spy shots and test mule sightings in the past couple of years. Visually, Guerrilla 450 looks a lot more pleasing and it even comes off as a more nimble and agile offering than Himalayan 450.Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 RenderWhen opposed to Himalayan 450, we can see a new fuel tank, a Guerrilla 450 logo, a scooped-out seat for low seat height, a smaller seat (in length), a cleaner tail section (relatively) and more. Headlight is fixed to the handlebar and has a nice-looking cowl, definitely a better implementation than Himalayan’s.Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 RenderRSU telescopic forks, black fork gaiters, smaller 17-inch alloy wheels, tubeless tyres, LED headlights, rear LED tail lights integrated into the turn indicators, round ORVMs, conventional front fender (mudguard) and other attributes are notable on Guerrilla 450. We have the same TFT Tripper Dash too and we hope the bugs are ironed out with the new offering.Specs, performance and priceRoyal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will share the same frame as Himalayan 450 along with the new Sherpa 450 engine. This is a single-cylinder 450cc engine with DOHC 4V head and features liquid cooling, a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch, ride-by-wire and a few other fancy stuff. Peak performance is 40 bhp and 40 Nm.Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 RenderConsidering that Guerrilla 450 has missed out on a lot of touring friendly attributes and more expensive cycle parts, it should weigh and cost less than Himalayan 450. Firstly, we expect kerb weight to be around 180 kg and cost around Rs. 2.5 lakh (Ex-sh). Rivals at this price include Triumph Speed 400, Yezdi Roadster, Harley-Davidson X440, Hero Mavrick 440, along with KTM 390 Duke and the recently launched Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z. More

China’s Chery Exeed Platforms to Power Future Jaguar Land Rover Electric Cars

Future JLR EVs to be built on China’s Chery platformJLR is following other Western legacy car manufacturers to source platforms for their next-gen vehicles from Chinese OEMsYou must have seen Land Rover’s official teasers of the new all-electric Range Rover testing in extreme conditions. The company claims it will be the quietest Range Rover ever made, owing to the obvious advantages of an electric powertrain. Now, it is revealed that, JLR’s (Jaguar Land Rover) future EVs will be based on platforms sourced from Chinese carmaker Chery.Jaguar Land Rover And Chery – The long-standing partnershipIt is a known fact that JLR and Chery have a long and fruitful partnership, mainly in the Chinese market. Both brands entered a partnership in 2012 and have been co-producing vehicles. The two companies even share a car manufacturing facility in China that has been manufacturing cars from 2014.Super Hybrid Platform By Chery To Be Used On Jaguar Land Rover CarsIn a major move by Tata Motors owned JLR and Chery Group owned Exeed, the joint venture is now extended where JLR will use two of the potent platforms developed by Exeed for their future vehicles. As confirmed by Yin Tongyao, president of Chery Group, JLR will be their new platform recipient. JLR will source Exeed’s M3X and E0X platforms. As per the agreement, JLR will be able to freely use both platforms on their next-gen vehicles that could be launched under Range Rover, Discovery and Defender umbrellas. M3X is locally also called T2X and it supports both traditional ICE powertrains and even PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle) powertrains.Electric Range RoverWhat are these platforms capable of?This very platform, touted as ‘Super Hybrid’ in a few Chery cars like Exeed RX PHEV, Chery Fulwin T9 and others, is capable of achieving nine operating modes, 11 gear combinations, over 1000-km range, and a thermal efficiency of 44.5%. All this, with the help of an IC engine and two electric motors paired to the world’s first gearbox to adopt two electric motors. The other modular platform that JLR is sourcing from Chery Group owned Exeed is the E0X, which was co-developed with Huawei. This platform is suitable for both EVs and EREV (Extended Range EVs) hybrids and incorporates an 800V architecture. With 12 kWh/100 km consumption rating, air suspension, advanced autonomous driving and attributes, it is fit for high-end vehicles with range extenders.Currently, E0X platform underpins Chery Group vehicles like Exlantix ES, Exlantix ET, Luxeed S7, and Luxeed R7. These platforms could fill in the blanks where JLR is currently lacking, which is new energy vehicles.JLR’s move to source Chinese platforms might prove shocking to many. However, it is a more widespread phenomenon than one might think. Auto giant, Volkswagen, has announced XPeng’s platform. Audi is sourcing SAIC’s platform. Brands like Lotus, Smart and Volvo are using Geely’s platforms and Renault is sourcing Chinese technology for its upcoming Twingo too.Source More

Yamaha Electric Scooter For India Will Be Unique – RX100 A Big Challenge

Image for illustration only.Instead of rapidly expanding its EV portfolio, Yamaha is focused on developing a “good and solid” electric scooter for IndiaWhile Yamaha is yet to launch an electric two-wheeler in India, the company said it is working on something truly unique. Eishin Chihana, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, talked about various possibilities for the Indian market. Focus is also on positioning India as a major manufacturing hub to support Yamaha’s global business. One or two electric models by 2030Yamaha is not so keen to join the electric two-wheeler race. However, Yamaha teams in Japan and India are working to develop a “unique offering” for the Indian market. Yamaha’s first electric two-wheeler for India will have the brand’s primary USPs such as style, performance and speed. To fulfil its EV goals, Yamaha recently invested in an EV startup named River. The startup develops and sells electric scooters.Yamaha self balancing electric scooter showcased earlier this year – BIMS 2024With Yamaha’s investment, the startup has launched a new entity, River Mobility, in Bengaluru. It will play a key role in Yamaha’s electric journey in India. Chihana said that River has shown excellence in engineering. It will help in creating something really good for the Indian market.Yamaha fans prefer petrolAnother reason why Yamaha is not in a rush to join the EV race is the fact that the majority of its customers prefer petrol motorcycles. Yamaha bikes are primarily targeted at Gen Z that belongs in the 18-25 age group. Chihana said that youngsters are driven by emotion. This aspect will have to be considered for Yamaha’s upcoming electric scooter.[embedded content]Going forward, Yamaha will continue to focus on its ICE portfolio. As per the company’s estimates, ICE two-wheeler sales will be around 70-80% of the overall two-wheeler sales by 2030. Yamaha’s primary customer base will be looking to upgrade to higher capacity ICE motorcycles that can handle long-distance journeys. In comparison, use of electric scooters will be primarily limited to short urban commutes.Increasing production volumes in IndiaYamaha is looking to develop India as a major manufacturing hub. In addition to increasing exports from India, Yamaha has plans to position India as the second pillar (after Indonesia) in the company’s global business. As of 2023, Yamaha India is number fourth in terms of profitability. Yamaha’s primary contributors are the US, Europe and Indonesia. By the end of this decade, Yamaha India ranking is expected to rise in terms of sales volumes and profitability. As part of its upcoming three-year midterm plan (2025-27), Yamaha will step up focus on the electric segment. Also, a larger role will be defined for countries like India. As per the current plan, Yamaha has been focusing on increasing sales of premium bikes to the burgeoning middle class in countries like India, Indonesia and the Philippines. Expansion of the Blue Square retail outlets in India is another priority.Relaunching RX100 a big challengeWhile RX100 has a significant fan following, it will be tough to bring it back in its original 2-stroke, 100cc format. In today’s age of 4-stroke motorcycles, the engine capacity will have to be at least 200cc to match the performance and acceleration of the original RX100. Achieving RX100’s unique exhaust note is another challenge. Chihana said that he is constantly looking for solutions and is keen to revive the iconic RX100.Source More
