BMW G 310 RR Fully Faired Motorcycle Render – Two New Colours

BMW G 310 RR will be manufactured by TVS in India – It will be launched on 15th July2022 BMW G 310 RR White – RenderBMW Motorrad dropped a teaser of its upcoming entry-level supersport in the form of G 310 RR last week. It will be based on the same 313cc engine and platform that currently underpins G 310 R naked street fighter and G 310 GS adventure tourer. Official bookings for the upcoming sports bike are open through the company’s official website. From the teasers, it is clear that BMW is headed the TVS way since the latter already offers its flagship model based on the same platform. Hence, it has been predicted that the upcoming G 310 RR will borrow some inspiration from TVS Apache RR 310.BMW G 310 RR Fully Faired – RenderBased on official teasers, a digital illustration of the upcoming BMW G 310 RR has been created. As expected, the overall silhouette of the fully-faired sports bike by the German marque is starkly similar to its Indian cousin. Although there are a few subtle variations to distinguish between the two models. In this rendition, the designer has employed more cuts and creases around the headlight assembly, something that isn’t seen in Apache. The twin-pod headlight itself appears to be a different unit from the one seen in the flagship TVS. The rendered bike seen in this image is wrapped under the traditional BMW HP-livery with red and blue accents over a white base. Another colour option for BMW G 310 RR is black in matte finish.2022 BMW G 310 RR Black – RenderThe side fairing also features snazzy graphics with the word ‘Race’ written after its name. Reports have mentioned that there will be another all-black colour option on offer with G 310 RR. The visor shown on this Bavarian derivative of sports bike is slightly different from the one seen in Apache RR 310 although the fuel tank seen in this digital illustration is almost identical to the latter.Other prominent visual highlights seen in this digital rendition are split-style seats with a raised tail section, 5-spoke alloy wheels with black rims, a race-spec red trellis frame and a stubby side-on exhaust canister. Taillight assembly also appears to be slightly different from the one offered in Apache.Expected Mechanical SpecsCycle parts of the upcoming Beemer are expected to be mostly similar to Apache RR 310 barring a few variations. For instance, BMW has used a conventional front disc brake in G 310 RR instead of the petal-shaped rotors seen in Apache. Apart from differences in design, size of discs will probably remain unchanged with a 300mm rotor at front and a 240mm unit at rear.Another important highlight is the addition of adjustable front USD suspension which is seen in the more advanced Apache RR 310 BTO (Built To Order). No changes will be made in the powertrain department as it’s expected to feature the same 312.2cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This motor pumps out 34 PS at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm while being paired with a 6-speed gearbox. More

GMC Raising Prices for Hummer EV Pickup and SUV Models

Pricing for the Hummer EV is going up by $6650, for all orders placed starting tomorrow, June 18.Existing orders won’t see a change in MSRP.The Edition 1 pickup has already begun deliveries. The EV3X version of the pickup will arrive next, this fall, and the SUV will begin deliveries in spring 2023.If you are all set to order a GMC Hummer EV, the time is now. The prices for both the pickup and SUV models are rising by $6650, but orders placed before tomorrow, June 18, will not see an increase. That includes all existing orders; GMC says that 77,500 people have already placed reservations.

The new prices will apply to the upcoming EV3X, EV2X, and EV2 models. The EV3X, a three-motor version with 830 horsepower, will start at $106,645. The EV2X has a less powerful 625-hp two-motor setup and will start at $96,645. The $86,645 EV2 will be the last to arrive, and it also has 625 hp but a smaller battery pack estimated to provide 250 miles of range, versus the more expensive models’ range estimates of 300-plus miles. The initial run of 1000-hp Edition 1 models is already sold out and thus won’t see a price increase.GMC says it hasn’t shifted the timeline for production of these various Hummer EV models. Those who ordered the EV3X pickup will be able to configure their trucks at some point this summer before deliveries begin this fall. The EV2X pickup will then arrive in spring 2023, with the EV2 pickup to follow in spring 2024. The SUV’s timeline is a bit later, with the Edition 1 arriving in early 2023, the EV3X and EV2X in spring 2023, the EV2 in spring 2024.

2003 Honda S2000 Is Our Bring a Trailer Auction Pick of the Day

This 2003 Honda S2000, currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer, shows less than 15,000 miles on its odometer.A 2003 Honda S2000 took first place in a five-car comparison test we published in August 2003.Bidding for this S2000 closes on Sunday, June 19, and as of Friday was up to $34,000.If at first you don’t succeed, try again. This is seemingly the motto of Bring a Trailer user danjordanhockey, who’s putting this 2003 Honda S2000 back on the auction site—which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos—after the car failed to sell in October 2021. In its first go-around on BaT, this low-mileage S2000 mustered a top bid of $30,000.

Things are already looking up for danjordanhockey this time, though, as the S2000 this individual has owned since 2005 already has a bid of $34,000 as of this writing. And there are still many days left to go until bidding for this car closes on the afternoon of June 19.

    Bring a Trailer

As far as S2000s are concerned, the 2002–2003 models are arguably among the best of the lot. They combine the car’s original high-revving 2.0-liter four-cylinder with the likes of a glass rear window (earlier S2000s have plastic units), improvements to the six-speed manual transmission, and various interior upgrades. Later 2004–2009 S2000s, better known as the AP2 to the 2000–2003 models’ AP1, benefit from additional low-end torque by way of a bigger 2.2-liter engine, but these cars also forgo the 2.0-liter unit’s screaming near-9000-rpm redline for an 8000-rpm setup. With just 14,430 miles on its odometer, this nearly 20-year-old Honda has seen 62 miles added to it since it was last listed in October. It also wears the same 17-inch wheels from an AP2 S2000 that it sported in the earlier listing. Frankly, we think the standard 16-inch wheels make for a better look on these earlier S2000s. Fortunately, swapping out these wheels for the correct units ought to be a pretty inexpensive affair.

    Bring a Trailer

Regardless, these later AP1 S2000s are an absolute riot to drive. In fact, an ’03 S2000 took the top spot in a five-way comparison test we conducted in 2003. In that droptop comparo, the S2000 beat out the Nissan 350Z, the Porsche Boxster, the BMW Z4, and the Audi TT.We summed up the S2000 then as a “four-wheeler with crotch-rocket DNA.” Even today, this verdict holds true. The S2000 offers a visceral, rev-happy driving experience unlike just about anything currently sold. Perhaps that’s why prices for used S2000s continue to rise. Bidding on this one ends on Sunday, June 19.

Toyota bZ4X EV, Other Models Could Expand GR Performance Portfolio

The Toyota bZ4X could get the performance treatment from Gazoo Racing, its chief engineer told Move Electric.Toyota teased the bZ4X GR Sport concept at the Tokyo auto show, and more GR models are expected to come.Even the Toyota Camry could be in line for a GR variant, as reported earlier this month by Motor Trend.Toyota’s motorsport division, Gazoo Racing, is currently responsible for several exciting models, including the GR86 and GR Supra sports cars. With the hotly anticipated GR Corolla, a 300-hp, manual-only, all-wheel-drive version of the regular Corolla hatchback, Gazoo showed it can transform run-of-the-mill models into thrilling creations. Now, the word on the street is that the newly introduced Toyota bZ4X—an electric crossover—could get the GR treatment.

Daisuke Ido, the bZ4X’s chief engineer, recently told Move Electric that a performance version is indeed under consideration and that it would be tuned by the Gazoo Racing team. Ido’s comments come after Toyota teased the bZ4X GR Sport concept at the Tokyo auto show back in January. At the time, its blacked-out appearance and larger rims were the only hints that it wasn’t a standard-issue bZ4X, which in its most potent form features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration with 214 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque. Otherwise, there were no technical details on the bZ4X GR Sport.Since that concept was shown, however, the Lexus RZ was revealed. Because it rides on the same e-TNGA platform as the bZ4X, its more powerful 308-hp dual-motor powertrain could easily make its way into a potential GR bZ4X. Still, Ido said the decision to develop a GR bZ4X would require more than just mightier electric motors. Instead, he said it needs to handle and perform at a level that Gazoo Racing customers expect. If it’s able to meet those expectations, it would be the first electric vehicle and the first crossover to wear the GR badge.

    Toyota

The proliferation of new GR models across Toyota’s portfolio doesn’t appear to be limited to sports cars and hot hatches. Along with a potential performance version of the bZ4X, perhaps the Camry could be on deck for such a makeover. Speaking with Motor Trend earlier this month, Bob Carter, executive vice president of sales at Toyota, didn’t rule out a possible GR Camry when asked about Gazoo Racing doing a sedan. “Stay tuned,” he said. We shall.

Honda Civic Si FE1 Factory Racer Now Available to Order

Preorders for Honda’s new factory race car based on the 11th-gen Civic opened this week, with deliveries projected for fall 2022. The HPD Civic Si FE1 Race Car is being produced by the Honda Performance Development (HPD) racing division. Tested and developed in-house and built in Marysville, Ohio, it will start at $55,000 with all the bells and whistles to go racing. UPDATED 6/17/2022: The updated story reflects details for which racing series the HPD Civic Si FE1 race car is intended.Honda Performance Development’s racing Civic Si, labeled the HPD Civic Si FE1, that made its debut at SEMA 2021 is now open for preorder. Based on the 2022 Civic Si, it was revealed last fall at SEMA 2021 alongside a slew of other performance-oriented Hondas. Honda announced the FE1 was developed and tested in-house by its HPD engineers and each car will be built at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville Ohio. The FE1 will start at $55,000 before tax, compared to the roadgoing Civic Si, which starts at $28,595, but it will come equipped for the track with features including an installed roll cage and “a full range of HPD-developed and homologated parts including the engine, suspension, exhaust, fuel cell, and Motec electronics packages.” HPD also removed the original Si’s sunroof, sound proofing, insulation, underbody coating, and seam sealer to slim down the FE1.Aimed for the SRO TCA series, the FE1 appears to be slated to compete against entries from a number of racing outfits. Potential competitors include Subaru BRZ’s built by TechSport Racing, Mini JCW’s from the Mini JCW team, or Hyundai Elantra N-Line racers from the Bryan Herta Autosport W/ Curb-Agajanian. Entry lists for those races can be found here, and include some of our favorite tracks, including Virginia International Raceway and Watkins Glen.

Honda hasn’t released performance numbers, but if the FE1 is anything like the 2022 Si it’s based on, we’re sure it will excite. What we do know is that the FE1 will come equipped with Honda’s L15CA turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four paired with an “HPD-strengthened” six-speed manual transmission. That engine makes 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque in the road car.

    Honda HPD

While the $55,000 sticker price is pretty affordable for a ready-to-race package, the deposit required to secure an order is steep. HPD is asking customers to submit a $25,000 deposit with the remaining balance due when the car is completed.

2023 Jeep Electric SUV Spied – To Rival Mahindra XUV400?

Upcoming compact electric SUV from Jeep is likely to be underpinned by the STLA platform2023 Jeep Electric SUVEarlier this year, Jeep revealed its plan of launching its first fully electric SUV in the near future. The American brand has been very vocal about going green in future and its plans gained fresh impetus when the company, along with other subsidiaries from FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) formed part of a new conglomerate called Stellantis in 2020.Electric mobility has gathered momentum in the last couple of years and every automaker is investing a part of its resources in battery-powered vehicles. The upcoming electric SUV from Jeep was recently spied under full disguise. The company has earlier revealed that the compact SUV will be making its global debut in early 2023.Jeep Electric SUV Spied: Exterior DesignLike the previous spy shots, the latest test mule of the electric SUV caught on camera has been completely wrapped under camouflage which makes it difficult to decode any specific highlight of its exterior. However, some highlights are still evidently visible like a rectangular LED headlight with a slim DRL unit above on each side. The faux grille with a traditional seven-slat arrangement takes centre stage with a small ‘e’ symbol to distinguish itself from its fossil fuel-powered siblings. Underneath the faux grille, it gets a slim opening followed by a wide air dam below it. It gets traditional Jeep characteristics including the flared wheel arches and muscular front and rear bumpers which lend it a brawny appearance.2023 Jeep Electric SUVRear door handles sit flush with the C pillar. A flat roofline and a flat tailgate further lend the SUV a boxy silhouette. The sculpted tailgate features a roof-mounted spoiler, wraparound LED taillamps and the Jeep logo at the centre. The test mule rides on 17-inch petal-shaped dual-tone alloy wheels. Rear bumper also looks muscular and sporty thanks to a faux silver-coloured skid plate. To be based on eCMP/STLA platformThis upcoming electric SUV holds more significance since it will be built on the eCMP architecture which is an electrified derivative of CMP (Common Modular Platform). This platform underpins the upcoming Citroen C3 crossover slated to be launched in India in June. Hence, it has a good chance of arriving on Indian shores sometime in future. However, the CMP architecture is best suited for an FWD configuration and offering an AWD/4WD setup in this platform will be a challenge. Therefore, it can also be the case where the upcoming compact electric SUV from Jeep could be based on the STLA platform developed by parent company Stellantis. There are four different iterations of this STLA architecture including- STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large and STLA Frame.2023 Jeep Electric SUVThe upcoming Ram 1500 electric pickup truck will also be based on one of these STLA architectures. The electric SUV will likely go on sale in the US and European markets first followed by other international markets.India Launch, Rivals?Jeep has extensive plans for India, which may also include electric vehicles. The new compact Jeep Electric SUV is expected to be about 4.23 meter in length. It will be a litter longer than the Tata Nexon EV – the current best selling electric car in India. But the Jeep EV SUV will be about the same size as the upcoming XUV400 electric.Mahindra has plans to launch the XUV300 electric version, which will be a little longer than the current XUV300 petrol / diesel version. It will be called XUV400 upon launch. Mahindra is expected to unveil the new XUV400 electric SUV in the UK on 15th Aug. Apart from selling the XUV400 EV in India, Mahindra also has plans to sell their EVs in international markets.Source 1, Source 2 More
