It also promises a stable ride and decent performance. Owing to its tyres and other components, it also promises maximum traction on any road surface. It is a spiritual successor of the popular ADV 150 which debuted at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in 2019. Honda ADV 160 has debuted in Indonesia first and is expected to launch in other global markets too.For starters, ADV 160 is not marketed as a maxi scooter. Honda has the Vario 160 for that purpose. ADV 160 is marketed as an adventure scooter that gets block pattern tyres. It is also not a step-through scooter. It means, it gets a central spine hindering practicality.2022 Honda ADV 160 – SpecsADV 160 gets an updated and superior 157cc single-cylinder 4V engine with eSP+ technology. This engine also does duties on PCX 160 and Vario 160 scooters in Honda’s lineup. This engine makes around 16 bhp of power at 8500 RPM and 14.7 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM. It is a vast improvement over the 150cc engine that powered the ADV 150 that the scooter replaces.The adventure-style scooter by Honda gets a 240 mm petal disc at front and a 220 mm petal disc at the rear. Honda is offering an option between a CBS (Combi Brake System) variant and an ABS variant. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic units at front and twin gas-charged sub-tank shock absorbers at the rear by Showa.[embedded content][embedded content]To stay true to the ‘adventure’ name, Honda ADV 160 gets dual-purpose AT tyres. Honda also boasts of Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system that cuts off the engine torque when a loss of traction is detected at the wheels. This prevents wheel slippage and helps in keeping proper traction at both wheels at all times. It gets a big fascia and road presence too. If you thought a maxi-styled scooter is big, wait till you see this. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster with blue backlighting but it misses out on turn-by-turn navigation feature.Other features include a large seat promising comfort for both rider and pillion, large under-seat storage, and slightly up-swept exhaust radiating adventure-tourer motorcycle vibes. To aid the comfort of rider, it also gets a 75mm adjustable large windscreen at the front that can prove helpful in deflecting wind over the rider’s shoulders.2022 Honda ADV 160 ScooterLaunch & PricingHonda ADV 160 prices start from IDR 36 million (approx Rs. 1.90 lakh, on-road) for the CBS variant and IDR 39.25 million (Approx Rs. 2.07 lakh, on-road) for ABS model. It is launched in Indonesia for now and has been teased in Japan as well. For the price, Honda ADV 160 offers a larger scooter with traction control and a peppy and reasonably powerful engine.       Royal Enfield ended the month of June 2022 with YoY sales growth of 42.65 percent while MoM sales dipped 3.15 percentRoyal Enfield 350cc Custom By EimorEicher Motors Limited has released Royal Enfield sales figures for June 2022. The company has performed well both in terms of domestic sales and exports on a YoY basis with total sales at 61,407 units in June 2022 up 42.65 percent over 43,048 units sold in June 2021. MoM sales however, dipped by 3.51 percent over 63,643 units sold in May 2021.Royal Enfield Meteor 350X is poised for launch in the days ahead and was spotted on test. Along with this new variant, the company is also currently testing the Meteor 650, Shotgun 650, Himalayan 450, 450 Scram, Hunter 350 and new Bullet 350.Royal Enfield Sales June 2022Royal Enfield saw sales in the above 350cc segment, which includes the Himalayan and 650 Twins, post sales of 50,405 units in June 2022. This was a 35.29 percent YoY growth over 37,258 units sold in June 2021. It related to a 13,147 unit volume growth with an 82.08 percent share. MoM sales however, dipped 6.37 percent from 53,835 units sold in May 2022 when share percentage stood at 84.59 percent.Royal Enfield sub 350cc segment, that includes the Classic, Meteor, Electra and Bullet, reported sales of 11,002 units in June 2022, up 90.02 percent YoY over 5,790 units sold in June 2021. This was a 5,212 unit volume growth with a 17.92 percent share. MoM sales increased 12.17 percent from 9,808 units sold in May 2022, relating to a 1,194 unit volume growth and 15.41 percent share.Royal Enfield Sales June 2022In domestic markets, Royal Enfield sold a total of 50,265 units, up 40.35 percent YoY from 35,815 units sold in June 2021. MoM domestic sales however, dipped 6.09 percent from 53,525 units sold in May 2022.Royal Enfield exports on the other hand increased YoY and MoM to 11,142 units in June 2022, up 54.04 percent YoY over 7,233 units sold in June 2021 and higher by 10.12 percent when compared to 10,118 units shipped in May 2022. Share percentage also increased from 15.90 percent held in May 2022 to 18.14 percent in the past month.Royal Enfield Hunter 350cc Launch in IndiaRE has been actively testing the Hunter 350cc ahead of launch in August 2022 It will be positioned on the same J platform as seen on the Meteor 350 and Classic 350. It will also borrow the same engine lineup with a 349cc single cylinder engine offering 20.2 hp power and 27 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed gearbox.Royal Enfield Hunter will get roadster styling with rear set foot pegs for a more upright seating stance. Once launched, the Hunter 350cc, which will be positioned below the Bullet 350, making it the most affordable RE motorcycle on sale.       1995 Mazda Miata with a Modded LS1 Transplant Is Today's Bring a Trailer Auction Pick

      • This 1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata on Bring a Trailer is the recipient of a LS1 engine sourced from a fourth-gen Chevy Camaro.• The 5.7-liter V-8 has been heavily modified and sounds menacing, as heard in a video of it running (included below).• This LS1-swapped NA Miata auction ends on Tuesday, July 5.Ever since the LS1 V-8 debuted in the 1997 Chevy Corvette, people have been stuffing versions of the third-gen small-block into machines that originally had fewer cylinders and much less displacement. One such recipient of the popular LS1 transplant is this 1995 Mazda MX-5 Miata that’s currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer—which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos.

      The first-generation (a.k.a. NA) Miata offered a naturally aspirated 1.6- and 1.8-liter four-cylinder during its production run that spanned the 1990 through 1997 model years. The bigger engine arrived in 1994. We tested one, and its 128 horses sent the 2330-pound, rear-drive roadster with a five-speed manual to 60 mph in a lackadaisical 8.8 seconds. Not great, Bob! For comparison, the aluminum-block 5.7-liter LS1 rocketed the 1999 Chevy Camaro Z/28 we tested to 60 mph in 5.2 ticks, and that thing probably weighed around 3400 pounds. The donor motor for the BaT Miata is said to be sourced from a fourth-gen Camaro and was rated at between 305–325 horses and 345 pound-feet of torque in stock form. Needless to say, a lightweight Miata plus a LS1 equals endless entertainment—and likely lots of wheelspin.

      Bring a Trailer

      Unlike the Tremec T56 six-speed manual available on fourth-gen Camaros, this Miata swaps cogs via a Tremec T5 five-speed unit. The gearbox feeds a Ford 8.8-inch IRS rear end with a limited-slip diff that has the difficult job of keeping the 225/45R-17 Hankook Ventus R-S4 summer tires from spinning into oblivion. Interestingly, the front tires are different (225/45R-17 BFGoodrich g-Force Rival S). This Miata rides on a coil-over suspension that pairs with several other chassis modifications including a much-needed brake upgrade, with a set of larger 11-inch front rotors with Wilwood calipers replacing the stock setup. Those will probably come in handy.

      Bring a Trailer

      While we don’t know exact power figures, based on its myriad modifications, it’s safe to assume the LS1 in this Miata is making more than 305 ponies. The motor is said to have an aftermarket camshaft, forged connecting rods, LS6 cylinder heads, and headers connected to a 2.5-inch exhaust system exiting a center-mounted muffler. As someone who’s owned multiple Chevy small-blocks with custom exhausts, they can make beautiful music, even if it annoys the neighbors and scares their kids. The seller of this Miata wisely uploaded several videos featuring the modded LS1’s pushrod symphony. We included one below of it angrily idling for your viewing pleasure.

      Some might say swapping an LS motor into a Miata is blasphemous. That it muddies the easy-to-control, fun-to-drive nature that’s made the tiny sports car so popular for so long. Those people are probably a lot of fun at parties. I’d love to add this demonic Miata to my garage. Hell, I wish I could get my hands on the 525-hp LS3 version by Flyin’ Miata that we tested a few years back. Alas, that’s out of my price range, but this modded ’95 Miata is likely to be more attainable. The auction ends on Tuesday, July 5.

The company has noted a marginal rise in two wheeler sales and exports while total sales of its commercial vehicle lineup dipped 13 percent YoY.Bajaj Sales June 2022Speaking exclusively of two wheeler sales, Bajaj Auto posted a 2 percent YoY growth in June 2022. Total sales in this segment stood at 3,15,948 units in the past month, up from 3,10,578 units sold in June 2021. The company’s two wheeler range includes the likes of Pulsar, Dominar, Chetak, Avenger, CT and Platina. In domestic markets, the company suffered a de-growth of 20 percent to 1,25,083 units down from 1,55,640 units sold in June 2021. Exports on the other hand increased 23 percent to 1,90,865 units, up from 1,54,938 units shipped in June 2021.Bajaj Sales June 2022The company has extensive plans in this segment with an extension of their EV lineup and recently inaugurated Chetak Technology’s new manufacturing facility at Akurdi especially formulated for EV development and production for Bajaj’s subsidiary company Chetak Technology.Commercial vehicle sales on the other hand has seen a dip of 13 percent YoY to 31,056 units, down from 35,558 units sold in June 2021. The company performed better in domestic markets with a 114 percent YoY increase to 13,268 units, up from 6,196 units sold in June 2021. Exports dipped 39 percent to 17,788 units in June 2022 from 29,362 units sold in the same month last year.Bajaj Sales June 2022Total sales (two wheelers and CVs) stood at 1,38,351 units in domestic markets last month, down 15 percent over 1,61,836 units sold in June 2021. Exports increased 13 percent to 2,08,653 units from 1,84,300 units shipped in June 2021.Bajaj Auto YTD Sales – April-June 2022Total Year-to-Date (YTD) sales and exports has seen a 7 percent degrowth to 9,33,646 units in the April to June 2022 period, down from 10,06,014 units sold in the same 3 month period of 2021. Here the company has posted de-growth both in terms of two wheelers and commercial vehicles and in domestic sales and exports.YTD two wheeler domestic sales dipped 8 percent to 3,14,418 units in April-June 2022 from 3,42,552 units sold in the same period last year. Exports also fell 4 percent to 5,32,740 units, from 5,56,753 units shipped in the April to June 2021 period, taking total two wheeler sales down 6 percent to 8,47,158 units from 8,99,305 units in the 2021 period.Bajaj Sales June 2022Commercial vehicle sales in domestic markets ended the quarter on a positive note. Sales were up 163 percent to 38,418 units in April – June 2022 from 14,585 units sold in the same period of 2021. Exports dipped 48 percent to 48,070 units from 92,124 units sold in April-June 2021. And replacing Limestone Metallic, we have Sport Polar White / Racing Blue Metallic.Red comes off as the more striking of the two. It gets a red trellis frame, mostly red fuel tank, red front mudguard and red wheels. BMW has added a touch of white to the headlight cowl and ‘R’ livery on the fuel tank. It gets a blacked-out engine bay, engine guard and gets the typical BMW gold front forks. Sport Polar White / Racing Blue Metallic is the subtler of the two. It is the subtlest of the 3 new colour shades BMW G 310 GS received. It has a black trellis frame, a gloss black finish on top of the fuel tank and top of the fairing, and black wheels. Basically, everything else is black too except for the silver finish on the rear subframe body panels and fairing extensions covering the gold front USD forks.2023 BMW G 310 GS New Colour LaunchSport Polar White / Racing Blue Metallic is another style and it replaces the Triple Black option. It gets a trellis frame finished in red, top of the tank and fairing is now blue with the rest of the tank finished in white. This negates the waiting period for EVs and in pickup and delivery business, time is as precious as gold and getting their fully drained EV up and running with 100% battery in a minute, is priceless.Honda Benly e Electric ScooterBenly e is offered in 4 trims globally namely, Benly e I, Benly e I Pro, Benly e II and Benly e II Pro. Both I series trims get a 3.8 bhp and 13Nm motor capable of 87 km on a single charge with 30 kmph top speed. They can also traverse a 12-degree incline with 30 kg load. The II series trims get a stronger 5.7 bhp and 15 Nm motor capable of 43 km of range from a single charge with at 60 kmph top speed. They can traverse the same incline with 60 kg of load and also get reverse functionality too.Honda Benly e Electric Scooter With Green No PlateNow coming to the question you must be waiting for. Why is it here and how is it a passenger EV? Honda Benly e is powered by Honda’s MPP batteries. Honda has initiated a new vertical named Honda Power Pack Energy India. This vertical’s task is to locally manufacture swappable batteries to power two and three-wheeled vehicles in India. Honda has conducted an elaborate pilot study in 2021 at Thane, Maharashtra. This study clocked 2,00,000 km and 7,000 battery swaps.Starting from Bengaluru, Honda has partnered up with HPCL and Bengaluru Metro to establish swapping stations. When started, these swapping stations will be equipped to provide battery pack swaps for electric two and three-wheeled vehicles. The first swapping station was expected to start operating in May of 2022.Honda Benly e Electric scooter spied, is owned by Honda Motorcycle And Scooter IndiaData reveals that the scooter in question is registered to Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India and hence the white font in the green number plate. The Jayanagar RTO KA 05 number plate checks out too as HPPEI is based in Bengaluru. It is likely that HPPEI is conducting a trial run of some sort with their new battery swapping technology.       2024 Chevy Silverado EV Shown Testing as Production Draws Closer

      Chevy has shown an engineering prototype for the upcoming Silverado EV.The new EV pickup is shown testing at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds in Michigan. Deliveries of the new truck are set to begin in the fall of 2023. While Chevy’s initial photos of the 2024 Silverado EV showed the truck its top-trim form in an eye-catching, shiny shade of blue, we’re now getting a more rough-and-tumble look at the upcoming electric pickup. GM released photos of an engineering prototype of the new EV testing at the company’s Milford Proving Grounds. CEO Mary Barra said that prototypes will begin testing on public roads around Michigan within the next month.

The Silverado EV uses GM’s Ultium battery platform and claims an estimated range of up to 400 miles. DC fast-charging capability will also be standard. The Silverado’s most direct competitor, the Ford F-150 Lighting, currently offers a maximum EPA-rated range of 320 miles.

      Chevy also said the full-size pickup will offer a towing capacity of up to 10,000 pounds of towing. The electric Silverado is expected to start around $42,000 for the base WT trim, and around $107,000 for the line topping RST trim. For comparison, the Lightning starts at $41,769 at its base and $92,669 for its highest trim.
