Mahindra Electric Pickup Truck Render – Based On New Design Language

The new family of Mahindra electric vehicles are based on a modular architecture and is estimated to have a driving range of over 400 kmsMahindra Electric Pickup Truck RenderBetween clearing up huge order backlogs of XUV700, ensuring the newly launched Scorpio N gets off on its feet smoothly, and tackling the chip shortage, Mahindra has its plate pretty much full. However, hectic day-to-day affairs doesn’t deter a big company from actively working on defining its future strategy. The Indian UV specialist took a step into a new era when they unveiled 5 new electric vehicles earlier this year. While Mahindra has been dabbling with EVs for several years now, the 5 new products could be considered as the first serious attempt to make a dent in the fast growing global EV segment.New Mahindra Electric Pickup Truck RenderThese five new Mahindra electric cars usher in the brand’s future design identity which is being redefined under the new leadership of Pratap Bose. The vehicles are designed by Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) and have global aspirations.Though none of them are electric pickups, Rushlane’s design specialist Pratyush Rout has created a digital render based on the same design language. If it ever enters production, the vehicle will be made in India and eventually be sold in the domestic market, the primary target market will be North America where electric pickup trucks are gaining traction briskly.Mahindra Electric Pickup Truck RenderThe confident-looking Mahindra electric pickup seems like it has got what it takes to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the popular medium-sized pickups in the USA. Mahindra has finally decided to ditch the contentious Jeep-derived seven-slot grille design as it seeks to establish authenticity. Moreover, being EVs, the future Mahindras don’t really need a large air-intake area at the front.New design languageThe prominent LED lighting signature, new ‘M’ badge, high ground clearance, off-road tyres and a traditional double-cab profile render the truck an appealing road presence. Interiors and specifications will likely be similar to the new age Mahindra BEVs..These new Mahindra electric cars are likely to take advantage of the company’s recent partnership with Volkswagen which allows usage of certain critical components from the German carmaker’s MEB electric platform. This move will keep the development costs low and lead time short, giving Mahindra a competitive edge over rivals like Rivian R1T.The electric SUVs are currently being developed by Mahindra. Of the five, it is the Mahindra XUV700 Electric which is expected to be launched first. These five new Mahindra electric SUVs are expected to make their India debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in Jan next year. More

Not that it is a bad thing. Classic bikes are to die for. There is one brand that absolutely dominates this space. That brand is Royal Enfield and out of the 7 on this list, 5 are from Royal Enfield stables. The most surprising development in 350cc space in September 2022 is the short-lived popularity of Meteor 350. Last month, Classic 350 clawed back precious market share and pulled far ahead of Hunter with an astounding 10,453 units lead.350cc Motorcycles Sales September 2022Funny how two almost identical motorcycles split opinion, huh? Volume growth stood at 13,820 units YoY and 8,578 units MoM.Classic 350 had 38.06% of the 350cc segment last month, up from 30.64% a month before. Meteor 350 registered 75.29% YoY with a volume gain of 4,656 units YoY. After Meteor, we have the OG Bullet which stands tall even in 2022. With a new generation on the horizon, Royal Enfield will breathe new life into the aging Bullet 350. Test mules are spotted multiple times and a launch is imminent. With 8,755 sold, Bullet has stood the test of time and proven its mettle. It registered 315% YoY growth over 2,107 units sold in September 2021 and 14.93% MoM growth over 7,618 units sold in August 2022. 2023 Kia Niro EV Still Starts at $40K but Loses $7500 Federal Tax Credit

The second-generation 2023 Kia Niro EV has a base price of $40,745, which is only $360 more than its predecessor.Unlike the first generation, the new electric Niro isn’t eligible for the $7500 federal EV tax credit due to new government legislation.Joining the base-level Wind trim is a $45,745 Wave model; both go on sale this month and will be sold in all 50 states. With a starting price of $40,745, the redesigned 2023 Kia Niro EV is just $360 more expensive than the outgoing model. That’s the good news. The bad news is the electric Niro is no longer eligible for the $7500 EV tax credit from the U.S. government. The Niro EV lost its rebate as a result of the Biden Administration’s Inflation Reduction Act, which makes any EVs built outside of North America ineligible for federal tax credits. This means that other electric vehicles that Kia assembles overseas, such as the new EV6, also are not eligible. The same goes for other automakers, too.Along with the entry-level Wind, the Niro EV lineup includes the fancier Wave model that has a starting price of $45,745. Regardless of the trim level, every version has a 201-hp electric motor that powers the front wheels. Its one-size-fits-all battery pack has an EPA-estimated range of 253 miles, and we saw 210 miles on our 75-mph highway range test.More on the Niro EVThe 2023 Niro EV is scheduled to reach U.S. dealerships sometime this month. Unlike the first generation, the new electric will be sold in all 50 states. This content is imported from poll. Would You Buy a Car at $19,000 over MSRP? Majority Say They Would

Despite still-limited supply, car shoppers are not slowing down. A new survey of over 3300 car owners in the U.S. found that 35 percent are not driving the car they wanted, and the other 65 percent say they are willing to pay up to 39 percent over MSRP to get the car they have their eye on.At current prices, that comes to a markup of almost $19,000.Car shoppers in Idaho are most desperate to get a specific vehicle, willing to pay up to 71 percent over the sticker price. Shoppers in the four states with the lowest rates were only willing to pay an 11 percent markup. The internet is full of tips to help car buyers to not overspend on their new purchases, but it seems like not enough people are putting them to use. Or perhaps the limited supply of new vehicles during the pandemic and the resulting thousands of dollars of dealer markups is causing people to overspend. Whatever the reason, people are paying higher and higher prices for new cars these days, and it turns out we’re not happy about it. Shocking. For most of 2022, the average price of a new car was around 10 percent over the official price, with the 15 most popular models all costing between 18 and 24 percent more than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), according to iSeeCars.A new survey commissioned by Quantrell Auto Group of 3361 car owners found that over a third of them (35 percent) said they had purchased a vehicle they hadn’t intended to when they started shopping. The other 65 percent said they would be willing to spend up to 39 percent over MSRP. Thirty-nine percent. Keeping in mind that an auto dealer group is behind the study and may be surveying people who are really ready to buy, but still: Given that the average new-car price in the U.S. is now over $48,000, these survey results indicate that a whole lot of shoppers may be willing to spend upward of $19,000 over the sticker price to get the vehicle they want. While the intention to pay is different than actually paying the extra money, vehicle prices aren’t likely to drop if everyone keeps shopping with that attitude. Some automakers, including Hyundai, Kia, GM, and Ford, have warned their dealers about applying high markups, threatening in some cases to shift allocation to dealers who do not overcharge buyers. In Some Places, Cooler Heads Prevail The nationwide survey revealed significant differences between states. The state that’s willing to pay the most over MSRP is Idaho, which sits at an insane 71 percent over sticker. Four states—North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and West Virginia—are willing to pay just a comparatively sane 11 percent over MSRP. There may be some clues in the data that show where vehicles are easier to acquire. The four states with the lowest percentage of car owners driving vehicles they didn’t want were Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Wisconsin. This content is imported from poll. Honda Electric Moped In The Works – Patent Images Leak

Honda Electric Moped might be powered by swappable batteries called Honda Power Pack e – good for around 100 km rangeHonda Electric Moped Design SketchesElectric vehicles are all the rage right now. To fuel this wave further, we are witnessing launch of new electric 2Ws like clockwork. Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has not yet ventured into EV segment in the country as of yet. Honda has announced that it has 2W EVs in the cards and a launch is evident in 2023.We recently saw the Japanese brand revealing its future global roadmap with 10 electric bikes by 2025. One of that 10 electric 2Ws is likely to be a moped. Guess what we got our hands on from the old continent? Honda’s design sketches for its upcoming electric moped. These images are from European Union Intellectual Property Office.Honda Electric Moped In The WorksOne look at this upcoming vehicle, immediately reminds us of the Honda Super Cub – an underbone motorcycle that is powered by up to 125cc petrol engine. It is one of the most iconic two wheeler in the world and is very popular to date. Sales surpassed 100 million in 2017.Honda’s upcoming electric moped might have been inspired by Super Cub in terms of design. But it is quite evident that the future product comes with future technology. It gets an electric powertrain, unlike a gasoline-burning ICE engine. Will Honda use its iconic Super Cub name on this electric moped? Only time will tell.Honda Electric Moped Design Sketches – RearWhat we can tell now, is that it gets an underbone-type chassis and even offers a flat footboard. Even though there is just one seat in the design sketches, production model is likely to offer a pillion seat, at least as an option. At the front, there is a cool-looking round headlight that might get LEDs. The overall design is very minimal and looks futuristic.Specs & FeaturesLooking at the cycle parts, one can easily recognise the large wheels. There are alloys that are likely to be 17” in size, just like Super Cub. Front gets a disc brake, while rear gets a drum unit. CBS might be offered. Rear wheel houses a hub motor that will get assistance from the pedals if needed via a chain drive.Honda hasn’t revealed any specifications as of now. It is not a stretch to speculate that Honda might push swappable battery tech with this electric moped. Looking at the design, one might think that there isn’t really a lot of place to house a large battery. That might be the case here. With swappable battery tech, that is less likely to be an issue. As of now, Honda electric moped is not a very promising proposition for India. That being said, there is a tiny possibility that it might launch in India for B2B segment and intra-city deliveries and even postal services in urban areas. What is highly likely to be launched by Honda in India is U-Go electric scooter which has been patented in our country.Image Source More

Ola S1 Air Electric Scooter Launch Price Rs 80k – Range 100 Kms

Ola S1 Air gets a hub-mounted motor at the rear which makes 4.5 kW of power and draws juice from a 2.5 kWh battery packNew Ola S1 AirOla is on the run to be India’s unanimous EV-maker. The Indian startup company has revealed its roadmap which involves electric cars as well. This way, it is set to earn brownie points over its rivaling brands like Ather, Simple, and the likes. Future aside, Ola has to give prominence for the present as well.To boost sales of its electric scooter lineup, Ola has now introduced an even more affordable product over its S1. Called Ola S1 Air, this new scooter has a lower price point that will appeal to a wider audience. Let’s take a look at what all is new.Ola S1 Air Launch PriceOla S1 Air is priced at Rs. 79,999, it is practically sub 80K that was previously reported. As it comes at a lower price point, there have been certain major changes with Ola S1 Air over regular S1 and S1 Pro. For starters, there is a flat floorboard as opposed to a hump in the middle on S1 and S1 Pro. Even though it isn’t horizontal, it is flat. This should give a massive boost to Ola S1 Air in terms of practicality.Other changes include dual telescopic forks for front suspension, as opposed to a single-sided unit on S1 and S1 Pro. Even at the rear, we now have dual shock absorbers instead of a single-sided unit on the more premium electric scooters from Ola. The looks may not be as pretty as S1 and S1 Pro due to dual forks, they are likely to cause fewer failures. Air gets a new swingarm too. With a reported kerb weight of just 99 kg, Ola Electric has managed to shave off a lot of weight when compared to S1 and S1 Pro.[embedded content][embedded content]Grabrail is redesigned and we get dual-tone colours now. The main visual change that is very imminent is that Ola S1 Air gets a hub-mounted motor at the rear. This motor makes 4.5 kW of power (likely peak power) and draws juice from a 2.5 kWh battery pack. This powertrain runs on Move OS 3 and is rated for a 100 km range (IDC) in Eco Mode and a 0 to 40 km/h time of 4.3 seconds.Ola S1 Air Specs & FeaturesIn comparison, Ola S1 and S1 Pro get an 8.5 kW motor (peak power) that is almost double in power. Battery size was also larger. S1 comes equipped with a 3 kWh battery with a 141 km claimed range and S1 Pro comes equipped with a 3.9 kWh battery with a 181 km claimed range. Top speed for Ola S1 Air is not yet known, but will surely be less than 90 km/h of S1.Ola has not skimped on the 7” touchscreen that is offered with S1 and S1 Pro. Powered by Move OS 3, it doesn’t get every single feature that S1 Pro gets. For instance, features like cruise control have been given a miss owing to the lower price point. However, it still gets a companion app, music playback, navigation, vacation mode, multiple moods and profiles.Ola S1 Air PricingPurchase window opens in February 2023 and deliveries are likely to commence in April 2023. New Ola S1 Air will rival electric scooters from Hero Electric, Okinawa, Ampere and the likes. More

Can't Get a Test Drive in a Ford Maverick? Try Your Local U-Haul Lot

Getting hands on a Ford Maverick is tough. Order books have been backed up for months, with many customers waiting over a year to get their trucks. I have some firsthand experience—my dad ordered a Maverick when the truck was first announced back in 2021, and after nearly a year of waiting he canceled his order. Yet somehow, Mavericks are already starting to show up on rental lots, specifically U-Haul.This U-Haul liveried Maverick was spotted in Florida by a user on the MaverickTruckClub.com forum. According to the company’s website, you can book one right now in Miami for $19.95 a day plus fees—pretty wild considering there are countless people out there right now waiting for months for their trucks to show up. U-HaulNo matter your feelings on the matter, it’s easy to see why U-Haul is starting to stock Mavericks in their fleet. While they’re not any cheaper per day than the larger truck offerings, their compact size and better fuel economy mean renters can fit them in more places while spending less money on gas. If you’re a current or prospective Maverick order-holder, we suggest using these U-Haul trucks as an opportunity to take an extended test drive to see if you actually like the thing before you buy. And maybe even use it to get some work done around the house. Specs, DetailsThis content is imported from OpenWeb.
