Hero Karizma 210 Sales 0 Last 3 Months – Discontinued Ahead of Karizma 250 Launch?

Hero Karizma XMR 210Hero MotoCorp launched the Karizma XMR 210 in India on 29 August 2023 for an introductory price of Rs 1.73 lakh (Ex-sh). Fast forwarding to the fag end of March 2025, Karizma XMR 210 is facing dwindling sales. Is this model discontinued ahead of Karizma XMR 250 launch or is it facing an identity crisis? Let’s take a closer look while analysing Karizma’s sales performance over the past year.
    Hero Karizma 210 Sales Analysis
Analysing Karizma XMR 210’s sales performance over the past year, we can see that the motorcycle averaged 739 units per month by selling 4,806 units. For context, Yamaha sold 1,06,605 units of R15 in the same period averaging 8,883 units. Despite the fact that R15 packs a smaller engine with less power and torque, while costing considerably more than Karizma XMR 210.
    Hero Karizma 210 Sales
If we dive into Karizma XMR 210’s sales, we can see that sales (in the past 12 months) peaked in March 2024 with 1,874 units with a steady decline in sales MoM, July 2024 being the only exception where there a small MoM gain. Sales tanked in October 2024 at 7 units, reduced to 4 units in November 2024 and then 0 sales in December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025.
    Hero Karizma 210 Sales
    Is it discontinued?
We say this because Karizma XMR 250 was showcased in November 2024 and Karizma XMR 210 witnessed 0 sales since then in three consecutive months – December 2024, January 2025 and February 2025. One quick check at Hero MotoCorp’s website reveals that Karizma XMR 210 is still listed under the Premia section.
    Hero Karizma Combat Edition Teased
The company had teased Karizma XMR 210 Combat Edition in January 2025 which packed better equipment and more features than standard model. However, it never launched. Further fueling the question whether Hero has dropped the ball and will only concentrate on Karizma XMR 250, moving forward.
    Karizma XMR 250
If this motorcycle is not discontinued, Hero MotoCorp might soon consider launching an update to Karizma XMR 210 to make it more appealing to prospective buyers. Some of these updated may be USD telescopic front forks and the new TFT cluster that we recently experienced with Xpulse 210 at the media drive event organised by Hero MotoCorp. Also, the company needs to rapidly expand its Premia dealerships to offer a premium experience for prospective Karizma buyers.
    Hero Karizma XMR 250
    Legacy of Karizma
On August 29 2023, Indian motorcycle market witnessed the revival of the iconic Karizma brand. Karizma has played a major role in positioning Hero MotoCorp as a manufacturer of supersport machines which could blaze the racetrack on fire and do long distance touring in one package.
    New Karizma XMR 250
At the EICMA Show 2024, Hero MotoCorp revealed Karizma XMR 250, which will take Karizma brand to new heights uplocking major performance gains with around 30 bhp and 25 Nm. While the Karizma XMR 250 is not launched yet, it seems to have impacted the sales of Karizma XMR 210 in a negative way. That, or Hero MotoCorp might have discontinued Karizma XMR 210 to make way for the 250.

New Hyundai Electric SUV Teased – Is It Ioniq 4 Based On Kia EV5?

New Hyundai Electric SUV TeasedHyundai has been operational in China as Beijing Hyundai. The company currently sells two sedans, three SUVs and an MPV in Dragonland. For the first time ever, Beijing Hyundai is venturing into EV space and has teased an electric SUV ahead of launch. Looking at it, one could speculate that it might be Hyundai’s version of Kia EV5. Let’s take a closer look.
Hyundai Ioniq 4 – Is this it?
Hyundai and Kia are on the verge of establishing themselves as the leaders in world’s EV stage. Both brands have been launching more EVs now than they ever did. For the first time, Hyundai is venturing into China’s EV space, which is the biggest EV market in the world, with a new electric SUV.
    Is It Hyundai Ioniq 4?
Where design is concerned, the recently teased Hyundai Ioniq 4 gets Ioniq 6 inspired headlights and a flat line below it and EV6 inspired LED tail light signature (but inverted). We can see a boxy silhouette along with thick C Pillars. In this teaser, it can seen drifting and performing stunts on snow, while being fully camouflaged.
    Is It Hyundai Ioniq 4?
This electric SUV from Hyundai might be positioned on their global E-GMP skateboard, which also underpins Kia’s global EVs. Speculations suggest that Hyundai might call it Ioniq 4 and position it under Ioniq 5. It looks much more like an SUV than what Ioniq 5 did, a similar strategy seen in Kia EV5 when compared to an EV6.
    Is It Hyundai Ioniq 4?
One could even say that Ioniq 4 (name not confirmed) might be Hyundai’s version of EV5. Come to think about it, Kia primarily designed EV5 for Asian markets like China. Both (Ioniq 4 and EV5) get tall SUV silhouettes with strong and muscular profiling. While they have same design ethos, Ioniq 4 and EV5 look worlds apart, which is the case with Ioniq 5 and EV6 as well.
    Is It Hyundai Ioniq 4?
    What to expect?
For context, Kia EV5 measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, 1,715 mm in height and gets a 2,750 mm long wheelbase. The recently teased new Hyundai electric SUV might pack similar dimensions. It may be China-only at launch and perspectives of it launching in more markets will probably open up later.
    Is It Hyundai Ioniq 4?
While powertrain details are not known, similar powertrain options as Kia EV5 might be a possibility. A Standard 64 kWh battery with 215 bhp electric motor, Long Range 88 kWh battery with 215 bhp electric motor and a 88 kWh battery with a dual motor 310 bhp AWD setup are likely. More

Hyundai Ioniq 5 Does 666,255 km in 3.5 Years – Viral On KR Social Media

Hyundai Ioniq 5Simple calculations reveal that this Ioniq 5 has travelled around 541 km everyday for 3 years and 5 months, which is quite like a new record
When thinking about buying an electric car, customers often have some worries about battery life. However, latest-gen EVs have advanced battery packs that can deliver a robust performance even in the long term. A relevant example is this new post on social media, where an Ioniq 5 owner reveals his vehicle’s odometer reading at a staggering 666,255 km. Let’s check some more details revealed by the Ioniq 5 owner.
Trip to the moon and back
Information about this particular Hyundai Ioniq 5 has been posted on a Facebook page. The owner mentions it as a 2023 model, although exact details of the variant have not been provided. With an odometer showing a massive 666,255 km, the post has gone viral on South Korean social media. The owner is a salesman by profession. The super high odometer reading reveals that he must be travelling quite frequently.
    Hyundai Ioniq 5 viral post
According to the owner, this odometer reading of 666,255 km on his Ioniq 5 has come in just 3 years and 4~5 months. This is even more surprising, as it reveals that the owner must have been driving his Ioniq 5 for around 541 km every day, on an average. It includes Saturdays and Sundays and not a single day of rest for the last 3 years and 5 months. Assuming that the owner took rest on at least Sundays and wasn’t working on Korean official holidays, the average daily running would be even higher.
Covering 541 km in a day in South Korea means a driving time of around 5-6 hours. And that does not cover practical scenarios such as traffic congestion and rest breaks. As a salesman, the Ioniq 5 owner must also be managing his professional commitments such as visiting clients and attending meetings.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 records over 6.6 lakh kms on odo
It is not mentioned if the owner was driving the car himself or if he had a driver working for him. The possibility of covering 666,255 km in 3.5 years seems more possible with a driver. However, there is no such information given. 666,255 km is just around 1 lakh km short of a round trip to the moon. If the owner maintains his current run rate, he can add 1 lakh km in less than a year.
    Original battery lasted 580,000 km
Another mind boggling information revealed in the post is that the original battery of the Ioniq 5 lasted an impressive 580,000 km. That’s unpreceded, especially considering that actual battery warranty is much lower. It varies depending on the market. For example, the Ioniq 5 in the US and Australia is available with a battery warranty of 8-10 years. However, there’s a cap of 1.60 lakh km. That means this Ioniq 5 battery lasted 3.6 times the kilometres covered in the warranty.
Battery replaced free of cost by Hyundai
At 580,000 km, this Ioniq 5 had clearly travelled more distance than covered under the warranty. Even then, Hyundai replaced the battery completely free of cost. It is likely that Hyundai has treated this as an exceptional case and rewarded the owner accordingly.
In India, Hyundai had launched the Ioniq 5 in January 2023 at the Auto Expo. The EV is imported into India as CKD units and assembled at the company’s plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is currently available at a starting price of Rs 46.30 lakh. The Ioniq 5 in India is offered with an 8 year / 1.60 lakh km battery warranty. Product warranty is 3 years with unlimited kilometres. More

Other Models – Xtreme 160/200, Karizma, Mavrick
Sales of Xtreme range were relatively stable, down marginally by 1.26% to 2,742 units. Mavrick 440, Hero’s entry into the premium segment, reported 52 units in its debut month. On the other hand, Karizma 210 reported zero units in February 2025, compared to 2,128 units sold in the same month last year, indicating a pause or phase-out. Hero had showcased the new Karizma XMR 250, which is expected to launch in coming months.
Overall, while Hero MotoCorp continues to dominate in terms of volumes with strong performers like Splendor and HF Deluxe, the overall YoY decline of 19.48% highlights the impact of changing consumer preferences and increasing competition in the commuter and premium segments.
Hero MotoCorp has recently expanded its product lineup with the launch of three new offerings – Xoom 125, Xtreme 250R, and Xpulse 210. These new models are strategically positioned to target different segments – the Xoom 125 caters to the sporty scooter segment, Xtreme 250R strengthens Hero’s presence in the premium performance motorcycle space, and the all-new Xpulse 210 enhances its off-road adventure portfolio. With these launches, Hero aims to appeal to a broader customer base and boost overall sales volumes in the coming months. More

BYD’s Big Bet In Indian Market – Rs 85K Cr Plant With 600K Annual Production

BYD Sealion 7While Tesla is still taking cautious steps in India, BYD has emerged as one of the leading premium EV manufacturers in the Asian subcontinent. Shenzhen-based BYD is now keen on cementing its presence in the Indian market with a Rs 85,000 Cr investment on a new manufacturing facility near Hyderabad. Let’s take a closer look.
BYD’s Big Bet In Indian Market
From being ridiculed by Tesla CEO Elon Musk to eclipsing Tesla in annual sales last year, BYD (Build Your Dreams) has come a long way. The company is now a shining beacon in electric car world as it is having an ‘all eyes on me’ movement. In India, however, the company already has an impressive portfolio including Atto 3, e-MAX 7, Seal and the recently launched Sealion 7.
BYD Denza Z9 GT Patented in India
Now, BYD is taking bigger steps in the lucrative Indian market with a reported Rs 85,000 Cr investment on a new manufacturing facility near Hyderabad, Telangana State. Currently, BYD has been presented with three potential sites by Telangana State Government as it aims to be the first State Government in India to host a BYD manufacturing facility.
If finalised, Telangana State aims to secure one of the largest investments in the private EV sector. The estimated budget for BYD’s new facility in India is around Rs 85,000 Cr and it could span across a 500 acre land with an annual production of around 6,00,000 lakh units. The plant is said to go operational by 2032.
BYD Denza N9 SUV Patented In India
Rs 85K Cr Plant With 600K Annual Production
Alongside the vehicle manufacturing facility, BYD is also keen on establishing a battery manufacturing facility of up to 20 GWh capacity. This new facility near Hyderabad is likely to spawn multiple parts and components factories, driving employment and revenue for Telangana State.
This is not the first time BYD is keen on establishing a manufacturing presence in India, but was delayed due to stricter regulations on Chinese investments in India. Recently, the policies have been revised and restrictions have been eased considerably and BYD is now moving to establish a manufacturing presence in India to offer their products at better prices.
BYD Yangwang U9 Supercar Jumping Over a Pothole
BYD is taking these steps at a time when Tesla sales are falling rapidly in global markets like Europe. At the same time, BYD is continually innovating and improving its technology to offer a better product than it did before. Wading in water, jumping over potholes and encasing a launchpad for a drone are some of the most notable innovations BYD has come up with.

New Kinetic E-Luna Design Patented – Is That A Removable Battery?

New Kinetic E-Luna Design PatentedThe electric 2W segment in India is currently booming. Both commercial and private electric vehicles are seeing a surge in popularity and acceptance. With goals to ride this wave, we have Kinetic Green, which has just patented a new design for its upcoming E-Luna. This has an unconventional Luna design and could be packing removable batteries.
    New Kinetic E-Luna Design Patented
In February 2024, Kinetic Green launched the iconic Luna in an electric avatar. Called E-Luna, it was launched in India for a starting price of Rs 69,990 (Ex-sh) with a similar design language as the original ICE-powered Luna of the yesteryear, which used to be very popular back in its prime time.
    New Kinetic E-Luna Design Patented
Currently, there are multiple variants of E-Luna offered by Kinetic Green. These include X2, X3, X3 Go, X3 Plus, X3 Pro and X3 Prime. All of these variants are step-through electric scooters with a flat floorboard for practicality. Kinetic Electric did reveal that E-Luna was Battery-Swap ready, but this removable battery was placed under the rider’s seat.
Now, a new design patent from Kinetic Green has been leaked showing what could be a re-positioned removable battery pack mounted on its floorboard. This is an interesting approach as this new element seen in this design patent is a quadrilateral with a triangular approach. Considering that Kinetic is now “Kinetic Green”, it is less likely to be an ICE vehicle.
E-Luna Removable Battery Revealed At Launch
It might be a storage box of some sort, designed for specific B2B commercial applications, or it may be a removable battery pack that offers an extra range on top of what E-Luna packs in its spine. Re-positioning the removable battery on the spine could create a deep and sizeable storage under rider’s seat which would also be concealed form weather.
    What to expect?
Removable battery or not, this new element patented with Kinetic Green E-Luna is surely interesting to look at. Other elements like 16-inch wheels, 170 mm ground clearance, RSU telescopic front forks, twin-shock absorbers at the rear, drum brakes on both ends, round headlight inside a square housing and others are carried over.
    E-Luna Floorboard
Powertrains-wise, it might feature a 2 KWh fixed battery promising 110 km on a single charge along with a removable battery extending the range close to 200 km. The fixed battery takes 4 hours for a full charge and new Kinetic E-Luna might retain the same 50 km/h top speed. A launch time frame is not revealed yet, but it could happen soon. More
