Ola S1 Air Price Increase From 31st July – By Rs 10,000

Ola S1 Air Introductory pricesThe purchase window for Ola S1 Air introductory price of Rs. 1,09,999 (ex-sh), opens on 28th July and stays till 31st of JulyThe Bengaluru-based electric mobility startup has created quite a niche for itself. Result is Ola is now highest-selling 2W EV brand in India. Recent reduction in FAME II scheme subsidy rates has wreaked havoc on 2W EV makers. Ola is no different. This necessitates launching less expensive models with smaller batteries for damage control and retaining sales.Ola S1 Air is that vehicle for the company. It is quoting an attractive Rs. 1,09,999 introductory price (ex-sh). For this price, Ola seems to be offering a 3 kWh battery and a touchscreen as well. The hub motor and conventional forks and rear suspension along with drum brakes are some of major cost-cutting measures.2023 Ola S1 Electric Scooter LineupOla S1 Air Introductory Price Rs. 1.1 LakhThis is a bargain value and almost feels unreal. Ola promised three variants with S1 Air. A 2 kWh battery model, 3 kWh battery model and a 4 kWh battery model. But now, there seems to be just one S1 Air variant that the company is currently offering. Other two variants will probably go on sale later. With this sole variant, Ola claims 125 km of range from a single charge and 90 km/h top speed. This points towards the 3 kWh model. While the 2 kWh model promised 85 km of range and the 4 kWh model promised 165 km of range. But in previous presentations, Ola mentioned S1 Air top speed is 85 km/h with all battery variants. Now, Ola has increased S1 Air top speed to 90 km/h.Ola price hike incomingThe purchase window for Ola S1 Air opens on 28th July. Introductory prices of Rs. 1,09,999 are only limited to all orders made on July 28th. All the purchase orders made from 31st July onwards will not benefit from introductory prices and will cost Rs. 1,19,999. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Enrico D’mello for sharing the update. What’s the confusion? We will quote Ola Electric’s words here. “Purchase window opens on 28th July”. “The price (introductory) is only valid if you reserve before 28th July”. “31st July onwards, S1 Air will be available for Rs. 1,19,999”. You must be slightly confused too.As of now, Ola’s website has “Order” option and “Reserve” and they both lead to the same bookings page. To get introductory pricing between 28th to 31st July, Ola wants customers to have reserved their S1 Air before 28th July. Only then will they get lower introductory pricing. If prospective buyers haven’t reserved their Ola S1 Air before 28th and then proceed to place an order between 28th to 31st July to attain introductory pricing, they will have to pay the full fat Rs. 1,19,999 (ex-sh). Just like buyers placing orders after 31st July. So, we would recommend reserving now and placing an order when the purchase window opens on 28th July to get introductory pricing. More

2024 Toyota Land Cruiser to Arrive August 1 with Hulking Front End

Toyota announced the next-generation Land Cruiser will officially make its debut on August 1 at 9:20 p.m. ET. The announcement comes hand in hand with this new teaser image showcasing the boxy and vertical front end of the redesigned SUV.We can see the inspiration drawn from other recently redone Toyota models including the Tundra, Tacoma, and Sequoia. And just like that, we’re under a week out from seeing the full design of the returning Toyota Land Cruiser. The company announced with an Instagram post this morning that the next-generation Land Cruiser will officially debut on August 1 at 9:20 p.m. ET. Toyota was also kind enough to satiate at least some of our desire to see the new 4×4 in full, with the addition of a new teaser image showing a hulking front end. The vertical bumper shown in the new image further strengthens our conviction that the Toyota will be a very close sibling to the recently revealed 2024 Lexus GX. ToyotaThe teaser image shown earlier in the month (see above) shows that the two models have nearly identical profiles, with vertical bumpers and windshields, body lines that jump up at the rear window, and a squared-off rear windshield tilting slightly towards the front of the car. More on LC and GXHybrid V-6 Power? With all the visual similarities, it also stands to reason that the Land Cruiser will share the GX’s twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V-6 engine when it launches and an unspecified hybrid engine sometime down the line. We think the most likely hybrid setup is the 437-hp V-6 iForce MAX from the Tundra, but the smaller 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid available in the Tacoma could also make sense. As far as trim levels are concerned, we think the Land Cruiser could arrive with a bevy of options including off-road-inspired TRD and Trailhunter models. Toyota is sure to add more mainstream options like an SR5, Limited, or Platinum for shoppers less interested in a rugged 4×4. This content is imported from poll. Zero Electric Motorcycles India Launch Confirmed – Via Hero MotoCorp

Zero Electric Motorcycle India Launch ConfirmedPartnership with entities like Zero Motorcycles allows Hero MotoCorp to be future-ready and diversify its EV portfolioWhile Hero MotoCorp leads in ICE-segment, it is yet to show any significant progress in EV segment. Vida electric scooter has potential, but sales haven’t been as per expectations. Nonetheless, Hero has been working on a multi-pronged strategy to strengthen its position in EV segment. One of the key focus areas is establishing partnerships with leading players in EV space. Hero already has a 35% stake in Ather Energy. Another key collaborator is California-based Zero Motorcycles that manufactures a wide range of high-performance electric bikes. Last year, Hero MotoCorp had announced an investment worth $60 million (approx. Rs 491 crore) in Zero Motorcycles.Zero Electric MotorcycleZero electric motorcycles to launch in India soonHero MotoCorp’s annual report confirms that enthusiasts in India will soon have access to high-performance electric machines produced by Zero Motorcycles. However, an exact timeline is not available at this point of time. But looking at the fast-paced growth in electric two-wheeler segment, it is highly probable that Hero will be looking to introduce Zero electric bikes as soon as possible.Hero will be aiming to get the first-mover advantage, as currently there aren’t many players in premium electric motorcycle segment. One example is TVS-backed Ultraviolette Automotive that manufactures the premium F77 electric bike. It is likely that Hero will focus on the premium segment as well as introduce more affordable versions for Indian market. The latter can be targeted at specific overseas markets as well. We are already witnessing this strategy in action with bikes like Harley X440 and upcoming Nightster 440.Zero Electric Motorcycle India Launch ConfirmedHero’s partnership with Zero Motorcycles will allow access to world-class electric powertrains and electric two-wheeler products. Hero will contribute by leveraging its low-cost manufacturing prowess and its vast sales and service network. This partnership is an important step in Hero’s sustainable mobility journey. Such collaborations will help accelerate adoption of electric mobility in India and across overseas markets.Upcoming Zero electric motorcycles for IndiaSelecting the bikes relevant for Indian market can be a bit challenging. One reason is that Zero Motorcycles offers a wide range of Street and Dual-Sport options. Decision making can be simplified if the direct import route is chosen. However, such a system will make the bikes hugely expensive and inaccessible to a large segment of potential buyers. It appears that local sourcing and local manufacturing can work, which is where Hero is likely to focus. It remains to be seen how many compromises will be made to achieve an affordable price point. In their original form, Zero electric motorcycles offer world-class ride experience. An example is Zero SR/S that generates 110 hp of peak power and 190 Nm of max torque. The electric motor gets its power from a 17.3 kWh battery pack. Range is an impressive 187 miles (301 km) in City conditions. Max top speed and sustained top speed are rated at 124 mph (200 km/h) and 110 mph (177 km/h), respectively.Zero electric motorcycles have batteries with 7.2 kWh to 17.3 kWh capacity. These bikes are priced in the range of $13,000 to $25,000, which is around Rs 10.64 lakh to Rs 20.46 lakh. It remains to be seen what strategies Hero deploys to achieve a lower price point for Indian market. More

Whether you do or don’t, the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport will give people a little taste of the vibes in those days with the introduction of the new Free Wheeling special edition. Not only is it inspired by Ford off-roaders from the ’70s, but the compact SUV’s brightly colored graphics and funky red-accented wheels are sure to attract the attention of boomers and millennials alike.’70s ThrowbackThe special-edition Bronco Sport is a modern take on Ford’s Free Wheeling décor package that was launched in 1977. Available on the Bronco, F-series trucks, and even vans of the day, the kit had black bumpers, white wagon wheels, and tri-color body decals.Ford Motor CompanyWhile the 2024 Bronco Sport Free Wheeling lacks black steel bumpers and white steel wheels, its hood, sides, and rear liftgate are emblazoned with reflective colorful stripes similar to those seen on its ancestors. Along with a black-painted roof, there’s a silver grille with contrasting Bronco script. The 17-inch wheels have red pockets that some will likely appreciate, while other will probably hate. We dig ’em.Inside, the Free Wheeling edition gets a similar sunset-like treatment that brings eye-popping striping on the seatbacks and redish accents on the center stack and upper door panels. The trim on the center console also includes a little plaque that identifies each Bronco Sport as a Free Wheeling edition—as if that wasn’t already obvious. With this option, the compact SUV’s grille and its Bronco lettering are completely blacked out. There are also matte black decals on the hood to match the 17-inch wheels. The roof and exterior badges are also black, and the interior gets a new bucking bronco badge that’s bright yellow. Just kidding, it’s black.Ford Motor CompanyLike the Black Appearance package, the Bronco Sport Free Wheeling is only offered on Big Bend models. Other changes to the 2024 Bronco Sport lineup are new Azure Gray and Desert Sand paint colors, which can’t be paired with the Bronco Sport Free Wheeling edition, for those who were wondering. This content is imported from poll. Chevrolet Bolt EV Isn’t Dead: It Will Return with GM’s Ultium Batteries

There will be a second-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV, General Motors CEO Mary Barra confirmed today during an earnings conference call.Earlier this year, General Motors had proclaimed the Bolt dead as it prepared the hatchback’s factory for a transition to assembling electric pickups. But the Bolt is not dead and is in fact getting better, with Barra revealing that the second-gen Bolt will use GM’s newer Ultium battery technology. The Chevrolet Bolt nameplate will live on, General Motors CEO Mary Barra announced today during an earnings conference call. This contradicts earlier reports that the Bolt was dead after 2023, with GM stating in April that the Orion Assembly plant in Michigan where the Bolt is built was transitioning to building electric trucks like the Silverado EV next year.Marc Urbano|Car and DriverNow we know that the Bolt will receive a second generation, and Chevrolet is promising that the electric hatchback will continue to pack modern tech and a solid electric range into an affordable package. Although the Bolt was always among the cheapest EVs, price cuts for 2023 saw the MSRP drop to $27,495. Sales rebounded from a controversial battery recall in 2021, with 38,120 units finding homes in 2022 for the Bolt’s best sales year yet. So far, 2023 is going strong, with 33,659 Bolts delivered through the first half. The current Bolt, first launched in 2017, is built on the BEV2 platform, developed with a helping hand from LG, which also manufactured the Bolt’s battery pack. Since then, GM and LG Energy Solution have collaborated on a new battery platform, Ultium, that is already found in the Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Hummer EV and will also underpin the Silverado EV. More on Chevy EVsBarra confirmed that the next-generation Bolt will utilize the Ultium platform, which the company says should help the Bolt badge return to market “on an accelerated timeline,” although the specific timing won’t be announced until later. We expect the second-gen Bolt to arrive for the 2025 model year, and while Chevy didn’t specify whether the slightly bigger Bolt EUV will be back, it mostly likely will if crossover sales continue to dominate the market. This content is imported from poll.
