New Oben O100 Platform Announced – To Take On Splendor Class 100cc Bikes

Oben Rorr EZ – Image for reference only
With its new indigenous platform, Oben aims to offer a practical electric alternative to the widely used 100cc commuter motorcycles
Bengaluru-based Oben Electric, specializing in electric motorcycles, is now looking to target the high-volume commuter bike segment. To make it work, Oben has developed an entirely new electric motorcycle platform named O100. The plan is to launch well-equipped electric bikes priced under Rs 1 lakh, making them suitable for the commuter segment. Let’s check out the details.
    Oben Electric new O100 platform
Oben has used a modular architecture for its new indigenous O100 platform. This will allow Oben to launch multiple variants to suit varying user requirements. Choices for buyers will come in the form of varied battery pack sizes and the number of features on offer. Performance aspects may remain largely the same for all variants since the new O100 platform will cater to the commuter segment.
For its new electric motorcycles, Oben Electric will be using proprietary LFP battery technology. One of the company’s USPs is in-house development and manufacturing. Most of the components such as vehicle control units, electric motors and chargers are developed in-house. This approach reduces dependency on external suppliers and allows the company to experiment and innovate in a seamless manner. Oben Electric claims to have more than 25 patents across various in-house developed components and technologies.
More details about Oben Electric’s new O100 platform are expected to be revealed in the near future. The first product based on the O100 platform is expected to be launched in the second half of 2025. Oben is also working on expanding its market presence across major cities as well as Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. There are plans to launch more than 100 new showrooms by the end of this year.
Oben 10 New Showrooms Opened On Republic Day 2025
India’s entry-level commuter motorcycle segment currently contributes around 30% to overall two-wheeler sales in the country. That’s a big chunk, generating sales in millions of units every year. The 100cc motorcycle segment is currently dominated by Hero MotoCorp with products like Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe. Other popular options in this space include Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100. Oben Electric’s new affordable electric motorcycles will have to be really good to take on these bestsellers.
    Oben Electric – Current offerings
As of now, Oben Electric offers the Rorr and Rorr EZ electric motorcycles. These are based on the company’s first platform – ARX. Oben Rorr is equipped with a 4.4 kWh battery pack, offering an IDC range of 187 km. It has a top speed of 100 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3 seconds. Oben Rorr has a peak power output of 8 kW. The electric bike offers advanced safety features such as a driver alert system and geo-fencing-based theft protection. Oben Rorr is available at a starting price of Rs 1.50 lakh.
A more affordable option is the Rorr EZ, starting at Rs 89,999 for the 2.6 kWh battery pack variant. Rorr EZ variants with the 3.4 kWh and 4.4 kWh battery packs are priced at Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh, respectively. Performance aspects are largely the same as the Rorr electric motorcycle. More

    Kawasaki Versys-X 300 Launch Price Rs 3.8 L – Himalayan, 390 ADV Rival

    Kawasaki Versys-X 300 Launched
Kawasaki is paying close attention to the evolving demands of adventure bikers in India. In that regard, Kawasaki just launched Versys–X 300 in India with an ambition to take a significant chunk of 300cc to 500cc ADV segment where Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and KTM 390 Adventure have been partying all along.
    Kawasaki Versys-X 300 Launch
Where pricing is concerned, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 costs Rs 3.8 lakh (Ex-sh). This is not bad pricing considering it packs a more sophisticated and revv-happy twin-cylinder engine. For context, 2025 KTM 390 Adventure costs Rs 3.68 lakh (Ex-sh) which is just a wee bit less than Versys-X 300.
    Kawasaki Versys-X 300
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 emerges as a value proposition as it costs between Rs 2.85 lakh (Ex-sh) and Rs 2.98 lakh (Ex-sh). On the company’s official social media handles, Kawasaki has showcased two colours – Candy Lime Green / Metallic Flat Spark Black and then a rather interesting Pearl Horizon White.
Versys-X 300 follows the same design as seen on its global spec model. It sports a tall windscreen, single pod halogen headlamp, long fuel tank with tank extensions and an upswept exhaust. We can see a chunky rear grab rail with a sturdy-looking luggage rack. There’s semi-fairing offered on this motorcycle to help reduce wind blasts.
    Kawasaki Versys-X 300
    Features and Equipment
To aid its off-road performance, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 will ride on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoked wheels. Ground clearance is likely to be 180 mm and have an overall kerb weight of 185 kg. Ride posture is quite upright. There’s a single-piece stepped seat, mid-set footpegs and wide-set and raised handlebars, making it ideal for both touring and off-road adventures.
Versys-X 300 shares its engine with Ninja 300. This 269cc, liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine offers around PS of peak power and 26 Nm of peak torque, mated to a slipper clutch and a 6-speed gearbox. Component-wise, Versys-X 300 gets conventional RSU telescopic forks at the front and mono-shock at the rear while braking will be via petal disc brakes at the front and rear along with dual-channel ABS.
    New Versys-X 300
Features-wise, there doesn’t seem to be a lot. There are no LED headlights or LED turn indicators. The instrumentation is still dated with its semi-digital cluster. The fog lights, knuckle guards, panniers and other elements are not part of standard equipment. More

New MG Electric SUV Design Patented – Tesla Model Y, Kia EV5 Rival

New MG Electric SUV Design PatentedMG Motor has been launching its electric offensive worldwide. The company has already emerged as a potent electric car manufacturer across multiple markets. Now, MG is working on big guns that will potentially rival high-volume electric SUVs like Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7. Design patents of the same have leaked online. Let’s take a closer look.
New MG Electric SUV Design Patented
SAIC Motor, the parent company of MG Motor, has just filed a design patent of their upcoming electric SUV in Australia. Looking at these leaked design patents, it looks like an enlarged version of MG S5 SUV, but to rival larger vehicles like the Tesla Model Y and BYD’s Sealion 7, which is already launched in India.
New MG Electric SUV Design Patented
Where design is concerned, it looks a lot like the MG S5 SUV and could take S6 or S7 name, when launched. We have a sharp design with a large MG logo in the middle of its fascia. Sleek and striking headlights, LED DRL elements, bumper creases along with the contoured closed-off grille look rather nice.
At the sides, we get conventional door handles, large alloy wheels, sophisticated silhouette with large window area and large rear doors. At the rear, we get connected wrap-around LED tail lights, extended roof spoiler, sporty rear bumper along with rear windshield wiper. There are stylish faux roof rails too, suggesting it will be a premium product.
New MG Electric SUV Design Patented
    What to expect?
Notably, this new MG electric SUV is likely to be a ground-up MG vehicle and not a rebadged vehicle from its sister brands within SAIC Motor’s umbrella. It is said to be underpinned by the same MSP (Modular Scalable Platform) electric car architecture with MG 4, Cyberster sports car and others.
Interior details and powertrain details of this upcoming MG electric SUV are not known yet. When launched, it is expected to be a mid-size SUV rivalling the likes of Tesla Model Y, BYD Sealion 7, Kia EV5 and Volkswagen ID4. There are no official announcements for a launch in India. However, a mid-size premium electric SUV from MG to rival the upcoming Tesla Model Y and recently BYD Sealion 7 does not seem like a bad idea.

BMW F 450 GS Spied With Minimal Camo – New Details Revealed

New BMW F 450 GS SpiedBMW F 450 GS will likely be launched by the end of this year, with a price tag of around Rs 5 lakh
After discontinuing the G 310 GS, BMW Motorrad is developing a new entry-level addition to its famed GS family. While earlier test mules were heavily camouflaged, latest spy shots provide more clarity on how the bike will look like. The test mule seems close to production-ready. Let’s check out the details.
    BMW F 450 GS – Key highlights
Overall design and styling of BMW F 450 GS seems inspired by its larger sibling, the R 1300 GS. For example, BMW F 450 GS utilizes X-shaped LED DRL elements that are similar to that of R 1300 GS. However, to ensure a distinctive profile, a stacked LED headlamp lighting setup has been used with the F 450 GS. The larger sibling comes with a single LED headlamp.
    New BMW F 450 GS
Other key highlights include sharp LED turn indicators, a large windscreen and a raised front beak. BMW F 450 GS has multi-layered sharp panelling and gets a sculpted fuel tank. While the concept was presented at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo with a single-piece seat, this near-production-ready unit comes with split seats.
Features that instantly get one’s attention include the USD forks and handlebar in golden finish and a chunky upswept exhaust. A number of accessories can be seen such as hand guards, a robust bash plate (likely metallic) and a top box at the rear. The bike has slots for mounting panniers at the rear.
    New BMW F 450 GS
With its compact profile, BMW F 450 GS will effectively meet both urban and mild off-roading needs. The bike has a relaxed riding stance, which makes it suitable for long-distance touring. While the concept was seen with wire-spoke wheels, this test vehicle utilizes alloy wheels. For folks who intend to use the bike more for off-roading, BMW could offer wire-spoke wheels as an accessory.
    Performance, specs
In an earlier statement, BMW had stated that F 450 GS would be using a new twin-cylinder inline engine that had been developed from scratch. With a first-of-its-kind ignition offset, the engine has a distinctive feel and delivers a more engaging throttle response. The engine produces 48 hp, making it ideal for the A2 licence category across Europe. BMW F 450 GS will be using a 6-speed gearbox.
    New BMW F 450 GS
Alloy wheels are 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, wrapped in road-biased dual-purpose tyres. Both ends have disc brakes and dual-channel ABS will be standard. To meet the A2 license category requirements, the bike will have a kerb weight of 175 kg. The bike has a preload-adjustable mono-shock with load-dependent damping at the rear. Rider aids expected with the BMW F 450 GS include traction control, configurable riding modes and cornering ABS. A 6.5-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth will ensure seamless connectivity and navigation.
    New BMW F 450 GS
Similar to the now discontinued G 310 GS, the BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured by TVS Motor. Launch in India is expected later this year. BMW F 450 GS will challenge rivals such as Honda NX500, KTM 390 Adventure, CFMoto 450 MT, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and upcoming Aprilia Tuareg 457.

Honda Teases X-ADV 750 Scooter for India – Launch Soon

Honda Teases X-ADV 750 ScooterJust a day after launching the Rebel 500 cruiser, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has surprised enthusiasts once again by officially teasing the much-anticipated X-ADV 750 adventure scooter. The teaser, released via Honda India’s BigWing social handles, hints that the premium X-ADV could be launched in the coming days—marking a big leap forward for Honda’s premium strategy in India.
Honda X-ADV 750 – The Global ADV Scooter, Coming to India
This move is likely to bring much-needed relief and excitement to Honda fans in India, many of whom have long expressed frustration over the lack of high-end offerings in the country. With two premium launches in just two days, it looks like HMSI is finally delivering on its promise to bring more global models to Indian shores.
    [embedded content]
Globally, the Honda X-ADV 750 is one of the most unique offerings in the maxi-scooter segment. It blends adventure touring capability with everyday practicality and the comfort of a scooter. The model teased for India appears to be the same latest-generation version that was introduced internationally, which comes equipped with updated features and new colour options.
The X-ADV 750 is powered by a 745cc parallel-twin engine that produces 58 bhp and 69 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 6-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), making it a rare breed of scooters in the country. The robust underpinnings include 17-inch front and 15-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, dual disc brakes up front, and long-travel suspension—all engineered for mild off-road and touring capabilities.
    X-ADV Scooter
Key features include LED lighting, an adjustable windscreen, a large digital display, and multiple riding modes. Internationally, it’s also offered with various accessory packs like Adventure, Comfort, and Urban, although it remains to be seen how Honda will package it for the Indian market.
Honda X-ADV Scooter India Launch in 2025
    Honda India’s Premium Push
Until now, Honda has primarily dominated the commuter scooter market in India with models like the Activa, Dio and recently launched Activa Electric. However, with rising demand for premium and lifestyle two-wheelers, the company appears to be shifting gears. The back-to-back reveal of the Rebel 500 and the X-ADV teaser shows that Honda is finally serious about tapping into India’s premium segment through its BigWing network.
It’s worth noting that the X-ADV 750 has been spotted on Indian roads previously, in full road-legal guise, registered in Arunachal Pradesh. At the time, it was believed to be a privately imported unit. But with this official teaser, a full-scale launch in India now looks imminent.
Honda India has not yet confirmed the price or launch date of the X-ADV 750, but more details are expected in the coming days. Given its premium positioning, the scooter will be sold via Honda BigWing Topline dealerships in select cities, similar to the Rebel 500. Stay tuned for more updates as Honda gears up to redefine the Indian premium scooter segment with the launch of the X-ADV 750. More

BYD e7 Electric Sedan Launch Price CNY 104K (Rs 12.33 L) – Range 520 Kms

BYD e7 Electric SedanOne of the world’s largest electric car manufacturers, BYD (Build Your Dreams), has just launched a capable and potent budget electric sedan in China. Called e7, this electric sedan was first teased in April 2025 and makes excellent sense to launch in India, positioning it below the Seal sedan. Let’s take a look at what’s what.
    BYD e7 Budget Electric Sedan
When it was first teased in April 2025, BYD e7 made quite some headlines as it is a budget-oriented offering. How budget is it? One might ask. To put numbers into perspective, BYD e7 starts from CNY 103,800 and goes till CNY 115,800. This roughly translates to Rs 12.33 lakh and Rs 13.74 lakh.
    BYD e7 Electric Sedan
For this money, one can only hope to buy a decently kitted out sub 4m SUV in India. In contrast, BYD e7 is a large electric sedan measuring 4,780 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, 1,515 mm in height and has a 2,820 mm long wheelbase. To put it into context, BYD e7 is just a wee bit smaller than Skoda Superb and Toyota Camry. In China, it is likely to be predominantly offered to taxi operators.
As of now, BYD e7 is only launched in Dragonland and is likely to be offered in a few ASEAN nations. We wish BYD launch e7 in India for a striking price tag. If BYD intends to bring it into India, they would have to lean towards the CBU route like they are doing with eMAX 7 and Atto 3, among others.
    BYD e7 Electric Sedan
    Design & Equipment
Where design is concerned, it still follows the Ocean design language that is also seen with Seal EV. Instead of being outlandish, BYD e7 is premium and packs in quite a lot of equipment. Wheels are smaller in size at 16-inches, there are LED headlights and tail lights, conventional door handles and other elements.
On the inside, we get a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, a 5-inch fully digital instrument cluster, premium interiors, front and rear armrests, rear AC vents, multiple USB charging ports and more. The long wheelbase will allow rear occupants to have excellent (for the price) kneeroom as well.
    BYD e7 Electric Sedan
Powering this vehicle is a 48 kWh battery and a 57.6 kWh battery pack. The former is rated to deliver 450 km of range and the latter is rated to eke out 520 km of range on a single charge. Both variants get a sole single-motor option that drives front wheels only, packing 134 bhp and 180 Nm with a top speed of 150 km/h. More
