Vinfast Klara S Patented in IndiaThe revelation of Vinfast patenting Klara S electric scooter comes just a couple of days after they start construction at their EV plant in IndiaRecently, Vinfast broke ground on its first EV manufacturing facility with USD 500 million (Rs. 4,000 Crore) investment in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Recent revelations show Vinfast is hot on setting an electric scooter portfolio as well, along with electric cars. Vinfast Klara S electric scooter has now been patented in India, fueling speculations.Vinfast Klara S Patented In IndiaVietnamese automaker, Vinfast, might be better for its portfolio of electric cars. Vinfast was also a key player in the race to acquire Ford’s Chennai plant post the American brand’s exit from Indian market. But Vinfast serves up a decent range of electric scooters on home turf. The same could be one of its identity in India as well.Vinfast Klara S FeaturesIndia is currently the hottest market for electric scooters and there are more players today than what the industry expected a decade ago. The adoption rate for electric scooters has seen a greater reception from Indians than any other 2W EV genre. As an electric scooter manufacturer, that might prove a perfect business proposition for Vinfast.First electric scooter launch from Vinfast in India may be Klara S, as it was recently patented in India. Klara S is a classic design electric scooter, giving me Vespa vibes. Vinfast proudly advertises Klara S as “Quintessence Of Italian Design”. It is a handsome-looking electric scooter and could be a fitting rival to Bajaj Chetak and Ola S1 range, owing to their design genres.Vinfast Klara S Dual BatteryWe can see a hexagonal-shaped LED headlight, U-shaped LED tail light, LED turn indicators and premium-looking pillion foot-pegs. There are options for contrasting colours on the floor board along with seats. A fully digital instrument cluster along with telematics features facilitated by a built-in e-sim are note-worthy attributes.Vinfast Klara S Patented in IndiaSpecs, features and performanceColours for Klara S include – Black, Red, White, Blue, Matte Black, Nurturing Green and Moss Green. For starters, Vinfast Klara S measures 1,890 mm in length, 684 mm in width, 1,125 mm in height and has a 1,321 mm long wheelbase and a 760 mm seat height. Klara S boasts a 108 kg kerb weight with two removable batteries.Yep, Vinfast embraces removable battery tech and there are two removable battery packs (22 ah each) populated with Li-ion cells sourced from LG Chem. These battery packs provide juice to a 1.2 kW (1.6 bhp) electric hub motor sourced from Bosch powering the rear wheels. Claimed range from this system is 120 km at 30 km/h speed, while top speed is 48 km/h.Vinfast Klara S Patented in IndiaLoad bearing capacity for Vinfast Klara S is rated at 150 kg. 2024 Hero Vida V1 Plus Launched At Rs. 1.15 Lakh – 30K Less Than V1 Pro

Hero Vida V1When compared to top-spec V1 Pro, Hero Vida V1 Plus launched costs Rs. 30,000 less and packs almost similar specs and performanceIn a strategic move, Hero MotoCorp has re-launched Vida V1 Plus in India for an attractive price of Rs. 1.15 lakh (including subsidy and portable charger) in most states. This makes Vida V1 Plus a tempting proposition to rival the likes of Ather 450S, Ola S1 Air and S1 X+ along with TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Simple Dot One.2024 Hero Vida V1 Plus Launched At Rs. 1.15 LakhIndian 2W electric industry has been reaching new heights thanks to more buyers gravitating towards greener mobility solutions. However, 2W juggernaut, Hero MotoCorp, had to navigate through multiple hurdles to launch their EV under a separate Vida sub-brand.Hero Vida V1 Plus Launched – InstrumentationThe launch did happen and faced crushing criticism for being priced above expectations. Earlier last year, Hero revised its pricing strategy and launched Vida V1 Pro at a reasonable Rs. 1.4 lakh effective price (including central subsidy). Various state governments offer added subsidy, bringing the effective price even lower.Vida V1 Plus was discontinued, making top-spec V1 Pro the sole offering under Vida brand. Fast-forwarding to 2024, Hero MotoCorp has re-launched Vida V1 Plus at Rs. 1.15 lakh effective price (including FAME II central subsidy and portable charger).Hero Vida V1 Plus Launched – StoragePound to pound, 2024 Vida V1 Plus is Rs. 30,000 less expensive than top-spec Vida V1 Pro. This is a tempting proposition for buyers as the entry point to Vida lineup is now a lot more affordable than what was quoted at launch. Many States & UT Governments offer further subsidies to EVs. For example, Delhi residents can get Vida V1 Plus at an effective price of under Rs. 1 lakh. Rs. 97,800, to be precise. Other than Delhi, a few other States and UTs offer state-level subsidies as well, to take some burden off buyers for a faster adoption of electric mobility.Differences between V1 Plus and V1 ProThere are not a lot of differences between Hero Vida V1 Plus launched and top-spec Vida V1 Pro. Both share similar styling cues along with seating ergonomics and other componentry. V1 Plus and V1 Pro also share their technology and feature a 7-inch touchscreen dashboard. Top speed is the same at 80 km/h with both scooters as well.Differences lie around a few attributes to justify added price increment for top-spec Vida V1 Pro over Vida V1 Plus. For starters, V1 Pro packs a larger 3.94 kWh battery pack promising 110 km of range from a single charge. Whereas, V1 Plus has a smaller 3.44 kWh battery promising 100 km range. Despite having the same 6 kW electric motor, V1 Pro is 0.2 seconds quicker. More

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash Review Post Feb 21st FOTA Update

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash UpdateBefore this update, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash Maps and music features never worked – They started working post update to latest versionRoyal Enfield, is ushering into a new era of technology with the launch of New Himalayan 450. This is easily the most technologically advanced and feature-packed offering from Royal Enfield ever. Part of this tech fiesta is the new Tripper Dash which received an FOTA update on Feb 21st. Let’s take a look at how it works now.Royal Enfield Tripper Dash ReviewBefore embarking on what the new FOTA update has brought to this package, we have to understand what Tripper Dash is and how it functioned before this update. Royal Enfield has developed a new circular TFT display for New Himalayan 450 that will make its way to other RE motorcycles like Scram 650 which was recently spotted testing in India.Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash Music Controls – When it worksThere is a dedicated app for Android and iOS that overlooks the transmission of data between smartphone and Tripper Dash unit for call and notification alerts, maps and even music controls. When I first collected Royal Enfield New Himalayan, the Tripper Dash was one of the main negatives I faced with this motorcycle and I mentioned the same in our first impressions review as well.Simply because it didn’t work. Both with Android and iPhones, the Bluetooth connection was established, but maps and music control never worked. Since then, there have been a couple of updates to Royal Enfield mobile app and there was a FOTA update from the company for Tripper Dash too.Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash Maps – When it worksHas this FOTA update fixed the issues? The Royal Enfield app on my phone notified me about this FOTA update on 21st February, 2024. I was away from the motorcycle and couldn’t install this update till 25th Feb. It was a package of five different software patches and took around 10 minutes to fully install. I am happy to report that my unit has been responding pretty well after this update. Both Maps and Music Control are now working which wasn’t the case before. But do they work without any glitches? No. There is still wiggle room for Royal Enfield to improve and I am hoping the company will fix these issues in the near future. For starters, both Google Maps and Music Controls have shown glitches in just a day I saw them working. They only work sometimes, but it is still better than not working altogether. When they work, Google Maps has four zoom settings to choose for trajectory view. In music controls, I could increase and decrease volume or skip a song forward or go back to previously playing song by pressing Up, Down, Right and Left buttons on the 5-way clickable D-pad.Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash Maps – When it doesn’t workHimalayan 450 Tripper Dash Music – When it doesn’t workDo features work consistently? When navigation is on and map data is moved to Tripper Dash, the phone’s screen stays on for some reason. Despite having big hands, I prefer small phones and my small Samsung S Series phone has a small battery too. For Maps and Music to work on Tripper Dash, my phone’s Wifi, Bluetooth, Mobile Data, Location and 1000+ Nits screen have to be on at all times, draining battery in just a couple of hours.Sure, there is a Type-C charger below the handlebar to charge my phone on a mobile stand. That brought different issues because now the phone is exposed to direct sunlight and screen brightness is 100%. The phone gets extremely hot forcing Google Maps and music to stop working. I wish Tripper Dash had a built-in GPS, compass and accelerometer along with a tiny built-in storage to store off-line route data set from the app. Or at least the phone screen to turn off when connected.Himalayan 450 Tripper Dash – Phone screen remains on More
