Ather 450X HR Homologated – 2nd Model With HR Suffix After 450S HR

Image for reference onlyWhere battery size is concerned, Ather 450X HR packs a 3.66 kWh pack that promises a 158 km range certified by AIS 040In the newfound popularity of electric scooters in India, Ather Energy is among the leading players. Competition is intensifying with new entrants from startup brands and mainstream scooter manufacturers. Ather is fortifying its grounds with a new HR lineup that could mean High Range. 2nd model with HR tag is Ather 450X HR, recently homologated after 450S HR.What is HR in Ather 450X HR homologated? For starters, HR can mean a lot of things. Considering electric scooter nomenclature and the fact that these HR models claim a higher range in homologation documents, HR in Ather 450X HR and Ather 450S HR could mean ‘High Range’ or ‘Higher Range’. The new models will be identical to Ather’s outgoing design. In terms of dimensions, both Ather 450X HR and Ather 450S HR have the same dimensions – 1837 mm in length, 739 mm in width, 1114 mm in height, 1296 mm in wheelbase and has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 243 kg. All Ather’s scooters follow the same dimensions as the brand only has one scooter design, with a 2nd maxi scooter design in the works. Both Ather 450X HR and 450S HR boast almost similar specs where powertrains are concerned. But there are surprises in the mix. A 74 Ah battery pack is common between the two. When Voltage is brought into the mix, Ather 450X HR has less energy at 3.66 kWh as opposed to 3.76 kWh of Ather 450S HR.Ather 450X HR HomologatedThat said, both the batteries weigh 22 kg each. Where range is concerned, Ather 450X HR boasts up to 158 km and 450S HR claims 156 km as per AIS 040 (Rev 1). As of now, Ather 450X is on offer with 2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh battery options promising 111 km and 150 km of claimed range. However, top speed for Ather 450X HR isn’t mentioned in the new homologation documents. Ather 450S HR claims an 80 km/h top speed and has a comparable range of 450X HR. So, a 90 km/h top speed is highly likely with 450X HR. For context, both 450S and 450X currently on sale, promise a top speed of 90 km/h.What to expect in terms of features?Power figures ranges between 1.9 kW (2.54 bhp) in Eco Mode and 6.4 kW (8.6 bhp) in Warp Mode. Sport Mode, Ride Mode and Smart Eco Mode packs 5.5 kW (7.37 bhp), 3.2 kW (4.29 bhp) and 2.3 kW (3.08 bhp) respectively. Recently homologated 450S HR lacks Warp Mode and has slightly less power in other modes.Where features are concerned, Ather 450X HR will come equipped with all the bells and whistles. The 7-inch Google-powered touchscreen dashboard with Google Maps, sleek UI and others will be on offer. Other attributes like dual disc brakes, LED lighting, 22L boot space, and others are highly likely too. There may be new and exciting colours exclusive to HR models too. We’re not sure whether Ather is offering its Pro package as standard fitment with 450X HR. As of now, Pro pack for 450X costs Rs. 23,000 and comes with Ather RideAssist, Ather Connect, and AtherStack OTA updates. Launch could happen very soon. More

It has been created by Toyota Auto Body, a subsidiary of Toyota. As compared to the standard ICE model, Hiace BEV gets refreshed exteriors and interiors in line with its electric character. The high level of customization options available for the cargo bay is another key USP of Hiace fully electric van.Toyota Hiace BEV concept featuresHiace BEV concept has the core silhouette of 6th-gen Hiace that was introduced in 2019. However, the exteriors are entirely new. The van has a futuristic look and feel. It continues to have a dominating street presence, as seen with standard ICE variants. Much of it comes from its massive size, a prominent front fascia and boxy overall profile.Hiace BEV utilizes the Normal/Standard Roof body of ICE Hiace that is 5,265 mm long, 1,950 mm wide and 1,990 mm tall. Wheelbase is 3,210 mm. But Hiace BEV is actually 15 mm longer, owing to its updated front section. There is plenty of cargo space, 1,715 mm wide and 1,270 mm tall, to be exact. The cargo area can be used as is or customized with different types of shelves, racks, drawers, etc. In terms of its visual appeal, Hiace BEV easily qualifies as the most attractive version till date. The level of evolution the vehicle has undergone is evident when compared to the predecessors dating back to 1967. All throughout, the van has gotten smarter and larger.Toyota Hiace BEV Concept FasciaHiace BEV concept gets some unique features such as pixel-shaped LED headlamps, sleek LED DRLs doubling as turn indicators, a giant closed-off grille and contrasting yellow lighting elements on the corners. On the sides, Hiace BEV has large sliding doors, body-coloured door handles, rectangular rear-view mirrors, circular wheel arches and thick body cladding. There’s a distinctive character line that stretches all the way from the front headlamps to the tail lamps. Alloy wheels are entirely new and designed for enhanced aerodynamics. Tail lamps are vertically stacked. There is an option to choose a barn door or a regular tailgate based on requirement. A video released by Toyota showcases another variant that has a longer wheelbase, side windows and higher roof.Toyota Hiace BEV concept interiorsWhile the focus is on moving stuff, Hiace BEV gets a range of premium features. There’s a large vertically stacked infotainment touchscreen that appears to be more than 14-inches in size. It has in-built turn-by-turn navigation. The driver also has access to a large fully digital instrument cluster. The van’s connectivity suite offers a range of remote functions. In place of the gear lever used with standard ICE Hiace, the BEV version has a rotary dial.Toyota Hiace BEV Concept Interior LayoutToyota has not revealed any details about the powertrain. However, it would be safe to assume that the BEV version’s performance will be comparable to its ICE sibling. With ample space for a large battery pack, Hiace BEV will have adequate range to manage the day’s tasks.Toyota Hiace BEV Concept Barn Door Option More

Mahindra Thar Electric Homologated – Prepping For New Adventures

Mahindra Thar Electric HomologatedAs compared to existing Thar that has a ladder frame chassis, Thar electric will utilize Mahindra’s advanced INGLO platformEarlier this year in August, Mahindra had unveiled the Thar electric SUV concept. It had received wide appreciation for its splendid design and enhanced off-roading capabilities. Thar electric, which will go on sale as Thar.e, has now been homologated in India.Thar electric – Improving the iconic designGlobally, the armoured look is becoming the new normal for several of the next-gen off-road focused SUVs. Thar electric seems to be working on the same lines. The design is so unique that it’s difficult even to relate it to existing ICE-based Thar. Also helps to wipe the slate clean, in view of legal hurdles Thar had to face in the past. All-new Thar electric is bold, brawny, brutish and born to conquer.Mahindra Thar Electric HomologatedSome of the key highlights of Thar.e include squarish LED headlamps with integrated DRLs, rugged front and rear bumper, new clamshell bonnet and large wheel arches. The SUV gets a bold new design for the alloy wheels. These are shod with off-road tyres with deep tread patterns. The flat roof and rear section create the signature boxy profile. Doors have exposed hinges, which complement the SUV’s rugged character.Inside, Thar.e will have a large touchscreen and a fully digital instrument console. The cockpit area wears a decluttered look, enhancing the sense of roominess. The centre console is placed high, ensuring a clear demarcation of individual spaces. Thar electric has a new steering wheel with mounted controls. The large, robust grab handles are functionally relevant and hint towards the SUV’s off-roading capabilities.New Mahindra Thar ElectricMahindra Thar.e performanceMahindra is yet to reveal powertrain details of Thar electric. However, it will be safe to assume that the electric version will have even better capabilities than existing ICE variant. Both 3-door and 5-door models will be on offer. These will have dual motor setup. The INGLO platform will be using BYD’s Blade and Prismatic cells that are known for their durability and long range.Ground clearance of Thar electric will be 250 mm to 300 mm. Front and rear overhang will be kept as low as possible. It will be around 640 mm – 680 mm and 680 mm – 740 mm, respectively. Wheelbase will be 2,775 mm to 2,975 mm. Thar electric will have best in class approach angle, departure angle, ramp-over angle and water wading capabilities. While Thar electric is quite tempting, enthusiasts may have to wait several months before they can take it for a test ride. Mahindra has its hands full, managing existing deliveries as well as working on its electric range. Mahindra will be electrifying its existing ICE SUVs and also introduce its born-electric SUVs. All of these will take time. Thar electric is unlikely to launch before 2026. It can even stretch to 2027. More

2024 Chevy Equinox EV Prices Range from $34,995–$52,395

Chevy released more details on the 2024 Equinox EV.Pricing ranges from $34,995 to $52,395, but you’ll have to wait longer for the cheaper models.Claimed range is up to 319 miles, compared with Chevy’s previous estimate of 300 miles.Order books are about to open for the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV, and that means we now have more information on prices, specs, and trim levels for the new electric compact SUV. Two different 2RS launch versions will arrive first, starting at $48,995, and the base model will begin reaching dealerships later with a lower starting price of $34,995. Chevy also upped its range estimate for the longest-range variant to 319 miles. The launch versions of the Equinox will start at $48,995 for the 210-hp front-wheel-drive 2RS version and $52,395 for the 290-hp all-wheel-drive 2RS version. These models will come standard with equipment including a 17.7-inch touchscreen, a power tailgate, heated front seats, and 21-inch wheels. Chevy also previously showed 3LT and 3RS trims that suggest there might be even more expensive models available later on.Equinox 3RSChevroletThe 1LT base model also won’t arrive until later, but it carries a far more attractive starting price: $34,995. That’s surely for the FWD model, and we don’t yet know how much extra the dual-motor AWD setup will cost. Only one battery pack will be available across the board, and we expect different range estimates depending on trim level, with the 319 mile estimate representing the longest-range variant.Chevy says dealerships will start taking orders for the launch models starting in early November. We don’t yet have specific timing on when Equinox EVs will start reaching customers. It’s possible the cheaper versions won’t arrive until the 2025 model year, but Chevy does say that deliveries of the entire range will start in the 2024 calendar year.More on the Equinox EVSenior EditorDespite being raised on a steady diet of base-model Hondas and Toyotas—or perhaps because of it—Joey Capparella nonetheless cultivated an obsession for the automotive industry throughout his childhood in Nashville, Tennessee. Nissan Takes the Z Sports Car Rallying with a Special SEMA Build

The Nissan Safari Rally Z Tribute celebrates the Datsun 240Z that won the 1971 East African Safari Rally.Built by Tommy Pike Customs, the Z features a two-inch lift thanks to an upgraded suspension and burly Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires. The V-6 engine has been tuned to more than 400 horsepower. The modified Z also has a cat-back exhaust, cold air intake, and twin-disc clutch and flywheel. The popularity of off-roading has surged as trucks and SUVs have come to dominate the market, with automakers launching new sub-brands—Subaru with Wilderness and Honda with TrailSport, for example—to beef up their crossovers. The go-anywhere enthusiasm has spread to sports cars too, with Porsche and Lamborghini concocting the 911 Dakar and Huracán Sterrato, respectively. At the 2023 SEMA show, opening this week in Las Vegas, Nissan is showing its own take on the trend with this Safari Rally Z Tribute, built by Tommy Pike Customs. The Tribute pays homage to the rally-spec Datsun 240Z that triumphed at the 3800-mile 1971 East African Safari Rally, which Nissan previously honored with a Juke-based concept a couple of years ago. Nissan commissioned the build from South Carolina–based Tommy Pike Customs, which built a Leaf-powered 1987 Sunny pickup and a woody-wagon-inspired Ariya for last year’s SEMA show. The modified Z sports car will sit alongside a replica of the Datsun 240Z Safari.Tommy Pike Customs fitted the sharply styled sports car with some major upgrades. The Tribute build rides 2.0 inches higher thanks to a custom KW safari suspension, which also includes adjustable upper control arms, a strut tower brace, and other components from Nissan in-house tuner NISMO. Unique black 17.0-inch wheels are wrapped in chunky Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 225/65 tires.Protecting the oily bits are a front bumper guard and skid plate, while a slew of auxiliary LED lights sprouting from the front end provide extra visibility in dark or dusty conditions. Inside, the Z features a roll bar hooked up to four-point harnesses that keep the driver firmly seated in Recaro bucket seats. The V-6 engine has also been tuned by AMS Performance, pushing output beyond the stock 400 horsepower, although Nissan didn’t specify quite how much it was improved. Other under-the-hood goodies include a cold air intake, a carbon-fiber engine cover, a heat exchange, and a twin-disc clutch and flywheel. Tommy Pike Customs also added a cat-back exhaust with laser-etched NISMO branding. The look is rounded out with a livery that mimics the original rally car’s, albeit sporting the number “23” on the doors instead of the “11” worn by the 1971 car. While we doubt this off-road Z has any chance at production, hopefully some of these parts could be offered by Nissan for DIYers who want to create their own rally special.More Special NissansThis content is imported from poll. Royal Enfield Scram 450 (Himalayan Based) Render In Multiple Colourways

Royal Enfield Scram 450 renderIn the slew of planned future products, Royal Enfield Scram 450 is one of the most attractiveThe cat is out of the bag and we all know that Royal Enfield Scram 450 is coming. We have been witnessing test mules of Scram 450 since May 2022. It was first spied testing alongside its ADV sibling Himalayan 450. These are likely to be sold alongside the current Himalayan and Scram 411. Rendering artist Pratyush Rout has penned down his version of Scram 450. Let’s take a look.Royal Enfield Scram 450 RenderThere is a new platform under development at Royal Enfield. This 450cc platform boasts a more tech-savvy engine with greater power and torque reserves. It is said to get a 6-speed gearbox, liquid cooling, LED lighting, and a lot more. It is evident that Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be pitted below Himalayan 450. We say this because there is a lot of equipment on Himalayan 450 which Scram 450 lacks. For instance, Scram 450 lacks front USD forks, split seats, rear luggage rack, spoked wheels, front windshield and some more. All of these are found on Himalayan 450. Our render encapsulates all of these elements based on test mules spotted till now. The name could be Scram 450 or the company may be inclined to go with other names like Guerrilla 450, trademarked already.Pratyush Rout has stuck to classic Royal Enfield design DNA that the brand used on Scram 411. Fuel tank on Scram 450 render is similar to that of Himalayan 450. Our render has a colour-coded tank extension too, with Royal Enfield lettering. Fuel tank gets Royal Enfield logo too. Our render has an attractive ribbed single-piece seat, a clean tail section along with LED turn indicators.Royal Enfield Scram 450 render colourwaysScram 450 gets a circular instrument console that is tilted toward rider. This ensures that the information on that screen will be in rider’s peripheral vision at all times. Other styling elements on Scram 450 render are coded headlight cowl, fork gaiters, LED turn indicators, and a cleaner overall profile.Specs & FeaturesHimalayan 450 is on the verge of launching, with production commenced recently. Scram 450 may launch at a later date. That said, there can be further revisions if Royal Enfield deems it worthy. Our renders replicate some of design attributes that Royal Enfield has previously implemented in terms of colours, branding and finishes. The new engine is a 450cc unit that gets liquid cooling and DOHC. There is a high possibility that this new engine may develop over 40 bhp and 40 Nm of torque. In contrast, 411cc engine that currently powers Himalayan and Scram 411 makes 24 bhp and 32 Nm.Royal Enfield Scram 450 render GreenModern features like a 6-speed gearbox and liquid cooling will be offered. Launch timeline is not yet confirmed officially. Given company’s history of extensive testing, Royal Enfield Scram 450 will be launched somewhere in mid-2023 or beyond. When launched, the main rivals for Scram 450 are Triumph Scrambler 400X and upcoming KTM 390 Enduro, that is spotted testing alongside 390 Adventure and Hero’s Xpulse 440. More
