New BYD e7 Sedan Teased Ahead Of Launch – 136 PS, 520 KM Range

New BYD e7 SedanImages posted by BYD suggest that the new e7 sedan could be a cheaper version of the Seal sedan with a trimmed-down equipment list
BYD’s focus on introducing new models at regular intervals has helped the carmaker to dominate the global EV market. One of the upcoming models is the e7 mid-size sedan. BYD has released some images of the e7, showcasing its exterior design language. Looking at this vehicle, we wish it was a part of BYD’s Indian lineup as well. Let’s take a look.
New BYD e7 Sedan – Key features
While packing a visually similar Ocean design language as Seal sedan, the new BYD e7 has certain features that are usually seen with cars focused on affordability. For example, BYD e7 has traditional door handles instead of the flush door handles available with Seal sedan. Availability of the optional steel wheels also indicate a low-cost approach. In comparison, the BYD Seal sedan is offered with sporty 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
BYD e7 Revealed By Chinese MIIT
There are various other optional features available with the BYD e7 sedan. For example, users can choose the variant without a sunroof or the one with a single-pane sunroof. Some other features are also optional such as rear camera and IRVM. These options further support the possibility that the e7 sedan could be a low-cost alternative to the Seal sedan.
    BYD e7 dimensions
BYD’s regulatory filing for the e7 sedan with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revealed some of the specifications. Dimensionally, the e7 sedan is 4,780 mm long, 1,900 mm wide and 1,515 mm tall. The sedan has a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. Quite comparable to the dimensions of the Seal sedan that is 4,800 mm long, 1,875 mm wide, 1,460 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.
BYD e7 Revealed By Chinese MIIT
While BYD e7’s front fascia is quite similar to that of Seal sedan, the former seems to be missing out on the sporty lighting elements. Changes can also be seen across the bumper section and side body panelling. These toned-down features further indicate the possibility of e7 being positioned as an affordable sedan.
    Performance, range, battery
BYD e7 sedan will be available in two variants. One with a 48-kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack and the other with a 57.6 kWh unit. Range, as per CLTC standards, will be 450 km and 520 km, respectively.
    BYD e7 Teased
As per information listed on MIIT, the variant with the smaller battery pack variant will weigh 1499 kg. In comparison, the larger battery pack variant will weigh 1566 kg. Both variants will be powered by a single front-mounted electric motor that generates 100 kW or 136 PS. This should be adequate to achieve a top speed of 150 km/h.
These modest specifications of e7, relative to Seal sedan, also point to an affordable electric car. Reports indicate that the BYD e7 could be primarily targeted at taxi operators or used as a ride-hailing car. The strategy could be similar to the e2 hatchback and its sedan version, the e3. Both of these have been discontinued in China. Will it launch in India to complement the eMAX 7 electric MPV? Only time will tell.

Treo has been the bread and butter vehicle for MLMML.
    Mahindra Treo ZOR EVs
Treo lineup has achieved quite a few spectacular feats. From celebrating 1,000 unit sales milestone of Treo in April 2021, Treo has now surpassed 1 lakh unit sales milestone as well. MLMML remains the only electric commercial vehicle manufacturer in India to sell over 2 lakh commercial EVs.

New Kia Carens EV Spied While Getting Charged

    New Kia Carens EV Spied
Kia is on the verge of launching its maiden mass-market electric offering. This vehicle has been spied testing multiple times and is speculated to be packing the same powertrain as Hyundai Creta Electric. The recent test mules of this upcoming Kia EV have been spied charging from its front charging port while donning registration plates from Tamil Nadu State. Let’s take a closer look.
    New Kia Carens EV Spied
One of India’s leading car manufacturers, Kia, has been expanding its portfolio to incorporate more premium vehicles. The company is launching a new premium MPV positioned above Carens, which will also spawn an electric version. The recent test mule is the electric version and was spied at a charging station while being fully covered.
New Kia Carens EV Front Charging Port
Based out of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh, most of the test mules of Kia vehicles usually bear temporary (Red) AP registration plates. However, the latest test mules of Kia Carens EV spied, donned Tamil Nadu registration plates. Because this vehicle was covered, it creates a slight confusion of being a Hyundai vehicle.
Kia Carens EV Front Charging Port
However, that is not the case as the wheels on this particular vehicle are unmistakably Kia Carens EV. Another confusion leaning towards a Hyundai test mule probability is the front charging port, which is also seen on Hyundai Creta Electric. That said, previous test mules of Kia Carens EV have established that it is donning a front charging port as well.
Upcoming Electric Cars In 2025 – Kia Carens EV and Hyundai Creta EV
The reason why Carens EV test mule has a front charging port is because it is speculated to be packing the same powertrain as Creta Electric. In the past, both Creta Electric and Carens EV have been spied testing together as well. That could explain the Tamil Nadu registration plates on this particular vehicle.
    What to expect?
If this turns out to be true, Kia Carens EV might offer the same 42 kWh pack good for a claimed 390 km on a single charge and the larger 51.4 kWh pack good for a claimed 473 km on a single charge. Peak power might be the same at 170 bhp and 255 Nm from a single motor driving the front wheels.
    New Kia Carens EV
New Kia Carens EV will carry forward Carens’ overall silhouette while bringing EV5’s front and rear design language along with Kia’s signature geometric alloy wheel design. It is less likely to carry forward the Carens name, though. Syros-inspired interiors with the 30-inch Trinity Display are a possibility with Level-2 ADAS, Kia Connect 2.0 and other features.

Honda E-VO Electric BikeIt is expected that Honda E-VO will be using the Mobile Power Pack e:, the brand’s swappable battery system
Honda is working on multiple new electric two-wheelers, one of which is the WH8000D electric motorcycle. As type-approval has been received, launch is expected soon. In the past, there have been many concepts from legacy bike makers, but only few have seen the light of day. Let’s take a look at some of the key details of Honda WH8000D electric motorcycle, which looks rather promising.
    Honda WH8000D / E-VO – What to expect?
Upcoming Honda E-VO utilizes a neo-retro cafe racer design in a futuristic format. Some of the key highlights include a round headlamp, old-school headlamp cowl, circular bar-end mirrors, pulled-back handlebar and a single-piece tan seat. The bike has sleek and aerodynamic side panels that ensure a futuristic look and feel. The panels create a sizable enclosure that houses the battery pack and the electric drivetrain.
Graphics are almost non-existent, ensuring a minimalistic profile for the electric motorcycle. Visually, there is only a dual-tone colour theme with a few yellow stripes. The badging elements include ‘E-VO’ and ‘Honda’. However, the tasteful blend of retro and futuristic design elements has ensured a distinctive profile for Honda E-VO. When launched, the bike is expected to offer more striking colour options.
    Honda E-VO – Performance, specs
Equipped with an 8 kW (11 HP) electric motor, the Honda E-VO is positioned as a fun city commuter motorcycle. The 8 kW is the continuous power, which means the peak power will be higher. In terms of performance, the Honda E-VO will be comparable to a 150cc petrol powered motorcycle. Combined with its sleek, aerodynamic profile, Honda E-VO can effortlessly zip through city streets. It can also be fun to ride across highways.
    Honda E-VO Electric Bike
Dimensions appear compact and could be similar to the size of a Grom or CFMoto Papio. This could make the bike a popular choice among commuters and casual riders. Honda E-VO will be available in two variants. The base variant will weigh 143 kg and have a top speed of 110 km/h. The top variant weighs 157 kg and has a top speed of 120 km/h.
    Swappable batteries
While battery details have not been revealed, it is likely that Honda E-VO will be using Honda’s swappable Mobile Power Pack e:. Honda has been developing its battery swapping infrastructure in multiple markets including India, Japan, Thailand and Indonesia. From a business perspective and to ensure a hassle-free experience for consumers, it is likely that E-VO will be using the same battery swapping infrastructure.
It remains to be seen when Honda launches the E-VO electric motorcycle. The distinctive full-faired cafe racer design can appeal to folks who are looking for something truly unique. With competitive pricing and backed by the convenience of battery swapping tech, Honda E-VO has potential to emerge a bestseller.
    Honda E-VO Electric Bike
As of now, Honda continues to derive much of its revenue from petrol-powered two-wheelers. However, the company is gradually increasing its focus on the EV segment. Some EV products are already on sale across global markets such as Honda EM1 e, CUV e and ICON e. In India, Honda has launched the Activa e: and Honda QC1. More
