Hyundai Tucson N Line Could Have Nearly 300 Horsepower

An N Line version of the 2022 Hyundai Tucson crossover is coming soon.
These teaser photos show its more aggressive styling and different wheels.
We expect it to have a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four with around 290 horsepower.
Hyundai will soon introduce an N Line version of the new 2022 Tucson compact SUV. Like other N Line models, it promises extra power and more aggressive looks compared with the standard model. These teaser photos show us most of the Tucson N Line’s exterior, and it should arrive a few months later than the base car, which is scheduled to go on sale in the U.S. in the summer of 2021.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Gets a Stunning Redesign

Hyundai Sonata N Line Revealed with a Racy Look

Hyundai Elantra N Line Has 201 HP, Manual Gearbox

Because the Tucson shares its base 2.5-liter inline-four with the Sonata, we presume the N Line version will also share its engine with the performance version of the mid-size sedan. That means we’ll likely see a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four in the Tucson, which would make it one of the most powerful compact crossovers on the market with around 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. The N Line will likely have standard all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

    Hyundai

The N Line will look somewhat different too, and here we can see its larger wheels with an interesting multi-spoke design. The front fascia appears to have an N Line–specific grille design, and the rear has a diffuser-style insert below the bumper. Hyundai will also offer stiffer suspension tuning and larger brakes along with a possible option for summer performance tires.

2022 Hyundai Tucson Looks Daring, Feels Roomier

While many of the Tucson’s competitors offer a more powerful upgrade engine, there aren’t any rivals with an overtly sporty on-road performance model. We’re looking forward to finding out more about the Tucson N Line in the coming months.

Hyundai Elantra N Confirmed, Will Likely Have 275 HP

Hyundai has confirmed that there will be an N performance version of the new Elantra sedan.
This model will sit above the existing N Line model and should offer the same 275-hp turbo-four as the Veloster N.
The Elantra N will likely arrive sometime in late 2021 or early 2022.
The three-door Hyundai Veloster N hot hatchback will soon gain a four-door sedan counterpart. Hyundai has confirmed the existence of an Elantra N performance model and shared camouflaged photos of a prototype. We expect its specs to mirror the Veloster N’s, as the two cars are closely related.

Hyundai Veloster N Base Price Rises Nearly $5000

Hyundai Elantra Getting More Powerful N Model

The Elantra N will slide in at the top of the lineup, above the recently announced N Line version which makes 201 horsepower from a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four. We expect the Elantra N to have the larger and more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four from the Veloster N, which makes 275 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. It will offer a six-speed manual transmission and likely the same eight-speed dual-clutch automatic that was introduced to the Veloster N lineup for the 2021 model year.

    Hyundai

As we saw in earlier spy photos of the Elantra N, we can see here that the sporty sedan will have a more aggressive appearance than the N Line, with a fairly large rear spoiler and a body kit. It will also likely have chassis upgrades such as a stiffer suspension and larger brakes, along with larger wheels wrapped in summer tires.
The Elantra N will compete with the VW Jetta GLI and Honda Civic Si, although it will be more powerful than both of those. Expect its starting price to be somewhere in the low-$30,000 range and for it to arrive sometime near the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.

Thule's New Tepui Foothill Cartop Tent Only Takes Up Half Your Roof Rack

Despite a sleeping width of 47 inches, the Thule Tepui Foothill shrinks down to 24 inches when traveling, about half the width of a standard roof rack, leaving more room to carry the outdoor equipment you’ll want while you’re out camping.
The Tepui requires using preinstalled mounting rails for enough support—but there’s no limit on how small your vehicle can be and still carry this tent on top.
While not cheap, at $1700, the Tepui Foothill is—fittingly—about half the price of some of Thule’s larger offerings.

    Thule

Some partners hog the bed, but it’s not every day that you can move the bed in such a way that you make room for everyone. If we imagine the couple in question includes a tent and a bike rack (or a tent and a kayak), then the new Thule Tepui Foothill vehicle rooftop tent offers just that kind of flexibility.

Mini Adds Rooftop Tent to Cooper Countryman

We Try Luxury Camping in a $100,000 Airstream

Best Rooftop Tents for Your Backcountry Adventures

Thule introduced the Tepui Foothill today, and it’s different than the company’s other car-mounted sleeping options because of the way it hangs off the side of the roof. When closed, the Tepui Foothill is only 24 inches wide, about half the size of most rooftop tents. This allows off-roaders to carry other equipment (such as bikes or surfboards) on the half of the roof rack that isn’t taken over by the tent. When the tent unfolds to its full 47-inch width, it does so away from the center of the vehicle thanks to preinstalled mounting rails and telescoping internal frame poles that allow one person to set it up unassisted. Despite that, the 110-pound, 83-inch-long Tepui Foothill sleeps two adults (up to a total weight of 400 pounds) and can be mounted on either side of a vehicle.

    Thule

A spokesperson told Car and Driver that there are “no limitations on vehicle size—it was designed for the smaller-car market,” so you don’t need to own an SUV to use it. Thule went with preinstalled rails to make the Tepui Foothill light enough and strong enough. The rails also make shipping safer and installation easier, Thule said. The Tepui Foothill comes with a high-density foam mattress and a rain fly, and there are unsurprisingly a number of official accessories available. Thule sells fitted sheets and a tent insulator for cold nights in the Tepui Foothill, as well as anti-condensation mats and lighting kits.
Thule sells a range of roof-rack tents, including the Tepui Low-Pro two-person ($1500) or three-person ($1850) options, the compact Tepui HyBox ($3000), and the Tepui Ruggedized Autana 3 ($2750) for SUVs and trucks.
The Thule Tepui Foothill will cost $1700 and goes on sale in February 2021.

Fancy Bowlus Travel Trailer Makes Neiman Marcus's Fantasy Gift List

Neiman Marcus’s 94th annual Christmas Book launched today, and the legendary Fantasy Gifts list this year includes a bespoke luxury travel trailer from Bowlus Road Chief.
Based on the Endless Highways Performance Edition of the company’s bright silver trailer, the custom camper will be personalized for one lucky recipient by Geneva Long, CEO of Bowlus.
The shiny trailer carries a $255,000 price tag, but $10,000 of that will go to charity.
A customized trailer from luxury travel-trailer manufacturer Bowlus Road Chief has made Neiman Marcus’s Fantasy Gifts list in the 94th edition of the retailer’s annual Christmas Book. A single trailer will be offered for sale with an eye-watering price of $255,000. For that price, Bowlus Road Chief CEO Geneva Long will consult one on one with the lucky recipient to create a truly personalized design for the trailer’s interior.

Give Your Holiday a Juice with These Jump Starters

The Neiman Marcus trailer is based on Bowlus’s Endless Highways Performance Edition model, which measures 26 feet and can sleep up to four adults. If the trailer’s shimmering polished-aluminum exterior presents an Airstream-like appearance, that’s because this company’s history and design stretch back to the 1930s and inspired copycat travel trailers including those manufactured by Airstream today.
Custom elements of the Neiman Marcus trailer include carefully selected kitchen and table linens, a dinner service for four, coordinated interior accessories, and a pair of outdoor chairs. The company will let the buyer choose among more than 35 bedding options, 40-plus flooring options, more than 100 different awnings, and more than 400 interior seating choices. In all, there are at least 56 million possible unique combinations.

    Bowlus Road Chief

Modern-day Bowlus models take a high-tech approach to luxury over-the-road travel and use lithium-ion battery packs similar to those found in electric vehicles to provide enough energy for an entire week of off-grid camping. The trailers are handmade in California and $10,000 from the purchase price of the Neiman Marcus model will go to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

For those who miss out on the Neiman Marcus one-off, Bowlus suggests its Endless Highways trailer, starting at $190,000, or the Performance Edition model for $225,000.
Other items on this year’s Fantasy Gift list include a custom-designed home library with hand-chosen books and furniture from Assouline, a year of wellness and self-improvement coaching via Canyon Ranch Resort and Spa in Arizona, a Jonathan Adler–designed custom game room, a set of six exotic-gemstone rings by high-end jeweler Oscar Heyman, and beef for a year from the Perini Ranch in Texas, which includes an in-person excursion to the ranch.

Harley Davidson XR338 Street Tracker Concept Based On Benelli 300cc

Harley Davidson XR338 Street Tracker. Images – BikeExif
The XR338 is a concept Harley Davidson 338R; which could influence the its street tracker version

With global sales getting affected due to pandemic and closure of business operations in emerging markets such as India, the American manufacturer has not had a pleasant 2020. However, the brand has a very rich legacy over many years and it is confident about its resurgence in future.
A couple of months ago the 338R from Harley was the talk of the town as several spied images and patent sketches had leaked on the internet giving us an idea of what the company’s future could look like. Termed as the ‘baby Harley’, this bike looked nothing like a typical Harley Davidson.

Atypical because neither does the bike belong to a cruiser segment nor does it feature a big displacement powertrain. The motorcycle adopts a flat-track racer body style. Even though flat trackers aren’t quite the big thing these days, an Italian industrial design house has seen potential in this segment and therefore created its own concept prototype. Just like teased patent images of 338R, the XR338 too is based on Benelli 302S.
    Brief about Engines Engineering
Founded by Alberto Strazzari in 1979, Engines Engineering (EE) specializes in motorcycle design and development and have worked previously with OEMs like Yamaha, Ducati, Honda, Benelli, Suzuki and many more.

It has also provided its services for designing purposes for local Italian manufacturers. However, this is the first time it has attempted something like this on an existing model and turned it into something completely different.
    Design of XR338
Dubbed as XR338, this naked street tracker is aimed primarily at the younger consumers of the US market. Design-wise, EE has admitted that the XR338 draws major inspirations from Harley-Davidson XR750. The iconic flat tracker is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. EE claims that the prototype is fully functional and 70 percent ready for production.

Although most of Benelli’s components are intact, it gets its own modified frame with the stock 302S trellis structure making way for a more flowing affair. EE has also added its own body, fuel system, LED lighting, instrumentation and a new pair of 18-inch custom wheels. Suspension has also been tweaked slightly in accordance with the new wheels and bike’s revised mass. It also receives a new exhaust muffler and ECU unit.
EE has designed the XR338 keeping in mind the latest emission norms including Euro 5 standards, US DOT, and even CARB requirements thus removing most hurdles before production. EE claims to have built this prototype in 120 days and it would take another six months to complete the last 30 percent remaining for it to be production ready.

    Powertrain Utilised
Benelli 302S is powered by a 300 cc twin-cylinder which pushes out 37.5 bhp and 25.6 Nm of peak torque. Even though XR338 will share its underpinnings with Qianjiang QJ350 and Benelli 302S, it is said to carry its own American heart and soul. Speculations are rife that the 338R will be powered by a 338cc parallel-twin engine which will produce 43 bhp. It is expected to be paired with a 6-speed transmission unit.
Whether the XR338 draws some inspiration for folks at Harley Davidson is yet to be seen but its design is definitely a head-turner. Also, the future of 338R in India hangs in balance since Harley Davidson relinquishing its duties in the country and handing it over to Hero MotoCorp.

Meteor 350 Development Process Explained By Royal Enfield

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 tested across India, Spain and the UK.
The video describes what changes and improvements have been made on Meteor 350 over the older Thunderbird 350

Biking enthusiasts, especially Royal Enfield fans had been waiting for Meteor 350 with bated breath and its launch earlier last week sent the automotive industry into a frenzy. The cruiser replaces the outgoing Thunderbird model from Royal Enfield’s portfolio and has generally received a positive response from across the industry.
While everyone is singing praises for the new bike, it is important for readers to know what went into development of the mid-segment cruiser. A team of leading technicians and engineers explain in a video released by Royal Enfield on its official Youtube channel, the development process and special attributes of Meteor 350.
    Updates on Meteor 350
Meteor 350 has rightly been described as a progression and evolution from the outgoing Thunderbird as the Royal Enfield team had the exact thing in mind while developing the Meteor 350. Essentially Meteor 350 is the next generation of Thunderbird 350 with a brand new engine, chassis and subtle updates to design. This fact can also be established when one rides the Meteor and Thunderbird back to back.
The development team consists of technicians, engineers and designers from various countries, with the new bike jointly developed and tested in Spain, the United Kingdom and India. Take a look at the video below.
    [embedded content]
The video features inputs from following people;– Mark Wells, Head, Product Strategy & Development– Simon Warburton, Head, Product Strategy & Development– Chittaranjan Gogoi, Industrial Design– Anuj Dua, Product Strategy– James Young, Engine Development– Takashi Yamamoto, Head, Electronic Management System– Martin Neczaj, Chassis Design– S Sivakumar, Head, Industrial Design– Matthew Cardenas, Product Manager, Tripper Navigation
    Improvements made
Even though most of its components are brand new and designed from scratch, it still retains most of Royal Enfield’s signature elements such as its characteristic exhaust thump and its road presence. The new engine though slightly low on torque than the previous generation 350cc engine has a wider torque band of 1000 rpm which makes it provides the essential low-end and mid-range thrust thus providing a comfortable ride in city as well as highway conditions.
What the extra 1000 rpm of peak torque also does is reduce vibrations on the bike considerably which makes it easier to cruise at slightly higher speeds. The rake angle incorporated is optimised both for city commute as well as long-distance cruising.
For the first time, Royal Enfield is also providing mass customisation for its customers through the brand’s ‘Make It Yours’ program from where the owners can choose from thousands of components and accessories to make their Meteor look exclusive.
    Other Details
Royal Meteor 350 is the first bike from the retro classic motorcycle brand to be based on an all-new J platform which is set to underpin future models as well. The company also incorporated a brand new 349cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, long-stroke engine which makes 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of peak torque. It is available in three variants namely- Fireball, Stellar and Supernova and is offered at a starting price of Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom). More
