Pravaig Extinction Electric Car Founder Explains The EV – New Details

    Image – DD News
Founder of Pravaig, Siddhartha Bagri has given an extensive TV interview to DD News

With electric vehicle (EV) technology being the talk in the automotive industry globally, we have seen massive leaps in technologies in this field in the last couple of years. However, most of these technologies have been foreign which is a point of concern as it has been assured that EVs will be future solutions to mobility.
Last week, Bengaluru-based electric startup Pravaig Dynamics revealed its first EV prototype going by the name Extinction MK1. Pravaig expects the MK1 to put its name in the global EV market. It is also the first attempt by an Indian firm to build a luxury EV. Company’s founder, Siddhartha Bagri has now revealed interesting new details about their upcoming electric car, as well as future plans.
    Exterior Design
Going by looks, the futuristic-looking Extinction Mk1 does manage to grab one’s eyeballs and its overall design lends an exclusivity on roads. The prototype sports a two-door Coupe like design with a sloping roofline, however, the production-spec model is expected to be offered as a 4-door electric sedan. The prototype receives a low-slung profile with a sleek front end flaunting projector LED headlamps which are connected by a thin LED strip.
A similar LED bar of lights connects the taillamps at rear as well with side trunks indicators on fenders. It also sports ‘Pravaig’ lettering bold at rear prominently positioned between taillights. Side profile adopts a minimalist approach with a distinctive shoulder line. It rides on blacked-out multi-spoke alloy wheels.

Recently Mk1 was taken out on the roads of Bengaluru for the public to get a glimpse of it where company CEO, Siddhartha Bagri, let out some crucial details regarding the upcoming luxury EV. He revealed that the prototype has been more than 90 percent built locally with about some high-end critical components imported from overseas countries. He also added that Mk1 is likely to go into serial production by November 2021.
    Powertrain
On being asked about the car’s battery life, Bagri claimed that the current battery pack can provide a life-span of up to 10 lakh kilometers. Speaking of battery, the Mk1 is powered by an electric motor which draws its power from a 96 kWh li-ion battery pack. This powertrain generates an output of 200 bhp and claims a range of 504 km. it can clock a top speed of 196 kmph and can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 5.4 seconds.

If claims are proved to be correct, it could become the longest range EV in India upon its launch. Battery could be charged using a DC fast charger which can juice up the power bank from 0-80 percent in just 30 minutes. Pravaig could also introduce Mk1 in a number of variants depending on different battery pack options.
    Expected Launch
Pravaig intends to sell 250 units of Mk1 annually and will be limited to Delhi and Bengaluru initially. Sale will then be extended to other cities such as Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. Prices of the electric sedan have not been revealed yet as the company intends to introduce it on a leasing plan, at least initially. it is expected to reach consumers by late next year or early 2022. CFMoto Zeeho Cyber Electric Scooter Concept – Likely Rival To Ather 450X

CFmoto Zeeho Cyber Electric Scooter Concept
CFMoto has announced the launch of their new sub-brand Zeeho; which will launch future ready electric two wheelers

Chinese automaker CFMoto has launched its new brand Zeeho. Under Zeeho, they have unveiled their electric scooter concept named Cyber, which is expected to enter production in 2021.
This will be the first electric scooter by CFMoto and it highlights the company’s strategy to increase focus on electric two-wheelers in the coming years. CFMoto’s current global portfolio comprises motorcycles, side-by-side utility vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and powersports engines.
CFMoto Zeeho Cyber design and features
In its concept form, Zeeho Cyber sports a futuristic look and feel. Some of the key design elements include striking LED headlamp and DRLs, sculpted bodywork with a mix of sharp cuts and smooth curves, a radical seat design, shortened tail and edgy tail lamps and turn indicators. The rear wheel is placed farther than the tail section, which seems something new for a scooter.
Talking about features, Zeeho Cyber gets an iPad like instrument panel that has GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It supports several functions such as navigation, voice controls and keyless start. Smartphone pairing is also available.

For optimal performance in varied riding conditions, users can select from the three riding modes of Eco, Street and Sport. These can be accessed via the instrument panel.
    CFMoto Zeeho Cyber powertrain
Zeeho Cyber tech specs are quite impressive and better than many of the current breed of electric scooters. It utilizes a 4 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack that sends power to a highly efficient motor with energy conversion rate of 92 percent. It is capable of generating 13.4 hp of max power, which can be sustained over longer durations without the risk of overheating or damaging the battery or motor. Available peak torque at the wheel is 213 Nm.

As per NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) standards, Zeeho Cyber has a range of more than 130 km. It can reach 0 to 50 kmph in just 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 110 kmph. This makes it a lot faster than Ather 450x – which is currently the quickest electric scooter on sale in India. Zeeho Cyber also has an higher range, as compared to Ather 450x.
One of the key strengths of Zeeho Cyber is its advanced battery pack that can work in temperature of -20° to 55°. This makes it suitable for most parts of the world. The battery can be recharged 2,500 times, which is around 8 years of lifespan or 3 lakh kilometres for the average user. The battery comes with fast charging, allowing users to load 80% in just around 30 minutes.

It is possible that CFMoto may introduce Zeeho Cyber electric in the Indian market. The lifestyle electric scooter segment has a lot of potential in the country and customers are willing to pay for a good product.
Once launched, this scooter is a potential rival to Ather 450x and the upcoming electric scooter from KTM, based on Bajaj Chetak platform. As of now, CFMoto has four motorcycles in its India portfolio – 300 NK, 650 NK, 650 MT and 650 GT. CFMoto had also teased a Zeeho electric bike, which is another product that could be considered for the Indian market. More

Jet-Powered VW Beetle Is Your Ticket to Crazytown

If you’ve spent as much time browsing the internet for cool car stuff as I have, you’ve probably seen this Beetle before. Built in the mid-2000s by Ron Patrick, a mechanical engineer with a Ph.D. from Stanford University, it retains its factory front-wheel-drive internal-combustion motor up front but also sports a General Electric T58-8F turbine engine mounted where the rear seats and trunk would normally be. Well, it’s now for sale on Craigslist for the low, low price of $550,000.
Because the car retains its standard drivetrain, it’s able to be street registered and driven around like any normal car. Switch on the 300-pound jet engine and you’re blessed with an additional 1350 horsepower. Originally designed to power helicopters, it idles at 11,000 rpm, and can spin up to 26,000. It’s controlled using a throttle lever mounted next to the car’s factory gear selector.

The highly detailed listing description points out the many ways in which Patrick modified the car for easy, reliable use. There’s a custom Kevlar fuel cell for the kerosene to power the turbine motor, and there’s a heat blanket underneath to keep the rear bumper from melting. Here’s how the engine’s mounting points work:

The force from the jet is harnessed using sandwich plates bolted to contoured aluminum billets inserted into the frame rails. The engine has rigid mounts with rubber bushings in the front and the back that are sliding. It grows as it warms up, so the engine mounts have to account for this.

The car is currently listed on Craigslist in San Francisco for $550,000. For any other Beetle, that’d be way too many zeros. For this one, though, it’s a bit more reasonable. And while you may be able to buy a new Lamborghini Aventador with that money, that doesn’t have a jet engine.

Tesla Full Self-Driving System's Beta Developer Settings Leaked

Tesla hacker Green has uncovered Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) developer controls and published images to Twitter.
The images shared give some insight into how FSD-enabled Teslas see the world and what settings could potentially be launched when the feature set goes public.
CEO Elon Musk has stated that he expects FSD to be available to the public by the end of this year.

Tesla’s FSD Feature to Cost $10,000 as of Oct. 29

Musk Says Self-Driving Tesla Software Ready Soon

Tesla Posts Profit, Announces FSD Subscription

It’s a long time coming for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving feature, and it hasn’t been a cheap journey. The price for the self-driving feature has increased multiple times and is currently available for supported Teslas for $10,000.While Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta continues to expand to more Tesla owners ahead of a planned end-of-year launch, the actual settings for the system have been uncovered and published on Twitter by a well-known Tesla hacker named Green. Not only are there dozens of settings and available adjustments, but there’s also a way to show a detailed vehicle view of the world while a Tesla is driving down the road.
This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.

In a Twitter thread, Green shares the status of internal states within the system while taking us on a tour of dozens of settings ranging from controls for FSD and Enhanced Summon to information about the Camera and Ultrasonics. The system also shows sliders for GPS, speed threshold, and other items that no one outside of Tesla should ever mess with.
There’s also an Augmented Vision area where developers can toggle what’s seen on a Tesla display while driving. It includes toggles for Pretty, Developer, and Camera Image. Once Developer is enabled, it shows options for a whole host of data that can be shown on the infotainment system. This all may be information overload for the average Tesla owner, but it’s a fun way to get more details on how a Tesla sees the world.
Tesla being Tesla, the developer settings also have fun settings including California Stop (which generally means you don’t bring the car to a halt but just slow down at a stop sign) and something called Chiropractor Adjust Skeleton, which is filed under the City Streets settings. What that means is a mystery, but both items are part of the FSD defaults in the developer controls.

None of this information actually gives any indication how far along Tesla is in its FSD beta testing. Since Tesla no longer has press contacts, Car and Driver was unable to get any comment from the company. The company has been using select owners to help train the system, and CEO Elon Musk has stated that he expects the system to be available to the public by the end of this year.

Lexus Previews Electric SUV, New Two-Motor EV Drivetrain

Lexus has shared more information about a new battery-powered EV drivetrain called Direct 4.
With 201-hp front and rear electric motors, this powertrain is currently installed in a prototype for a future Lexus electric SUV.
Lexus EVs may launch in Europe before coming to America, but Toyota has confirmed EV models for the U.S. market as well.
Toyota is finally jumping into the EV fray, and Lexus has now shared more information about its future electric drivetrain. Called Direct4, this system uses front- and rear-mounted electric motors and is currently installed in a prototype for a new battery-powered Lexus crossover.

Toyota Is Finally Making an Electric Vehicle

2020 Toyota Mirai Fuel-Cell Car Has 400-Mile Range

Lexus says that the front and rear motors each produce 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque, but hasn’t shared total output for the powertrain. The prototype appears to be a compact or mid-size crossover, possibly a new addition to the lineup. We’re not sure if the bodywork seen here is representative of what the eventual production model will look like, but Lexus also provided a teaser photo showing a design concept for this upcoming EV crossover.

    Lexus

This new Lexus Direct4 system indicates that the first of Toyota’s new EV models may wear a Lexus badge. But we don’t yet know which EVs will reach the U.S. market first. Toyota confirmed that an electric crossover will reach the European market and that EV models will come to America in the “short term.”
A version of the Direct4 system will also have applications in future Lexus hybrids, as demonstrated on a Lexus ES prototype. In this case, it features a 174-horsepower gasoline engine, a 107-hp electric motor powering the front wheels and another 107-hp electric motor powering the rear wheels.

    Lexus

So far, Lexus’s EV rollout has been limited to certain regions, as it sells an electric version of the UX small crossover in China and Europe called the UX300e. But now that Toyota has confirmed plans for EV models in the U.S. market in the near future, we expect to hear more about future Lexus and Toyota EVs with this Direct4 system in the coming months.
