2021 Audi Q3 Gets Price Cut with New Base Model

Audi is adding a new base model to the 2021 Q3 lineup.
It’s called the 40 TFSI and it comes with a less powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine than the existing 45 TFSI.
The 40 TFSI starts at $35,095, while the 45 TFSI starts at $37,095.
The Audi Q3 is getting a lower base price for 2021 due to the addition of a less powerful 40 TFSI model. It now starts at $35,095, a $600 drop from last year’s base price, and is offered in both Premium and Premium Plus trim levels. The existing 45 TFSI model continues on with its more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four; it starts at $37,095 and now comes standard with the S-Line appearance package.

2019 Audi Q3 Effectively Uses VW Group Bits

    2020 BMW X1 vs. 2019 Audi Q3

The 40 TFSI’s version of the turbo 2.0-liter inline-four makes 184 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, 44 hp and 37 lb-ft fewer than the 45 TFSI. It still comes standard with all-wheel drive and the same eight-speed automatic transmission. The EPA estimates that the 40 TFSI will get better fuel economy, as it’s rated at 25 mpg combined to the 45 TFSI S-Line model’s 23 mpg combined.
While we haven’t yet tested one, the 40 TFSI model will almost certainly be slower than its more powerful counterpart. Audi quotes a laggard zero to 60 mph time of 8.6 seconds. For reference, our test of a 2019 Q3 with the more powerful 228-hp engine recorded a 7.3 second sprint to 60 mph.
The 40 TFSI is also available in a better equipped Premium Plus trim level, which starts at $38,395. The 45 TFSI’s top Prestige trim level has been dropped, meaning its top version is now the 45 TFSI Premium Plus, starting at $40,395.

Take a Quick Spin in a Shelby GT350, Lamborghini, Ram TRX, and Porsche Cayman

Over the last four episodes of Quick Spin, the Autoweek team has reviewed a diverse collection of cars from the inside out: the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, Ram TRX, Porsche 718 Cayman T, and a Lamborghini Huracán that featured Blondie’s guitar player Tommy Kessler. In case you missed any of ’em, we’ve bundled them together here for your listening pleasure.

The Lamborghini Huracán Evo Is Rockstar Ready

    Lamborghini

The Lamborghini Huracán Evo is no stranger to Quick Spin. It already appeared in one of the show’s first episodes. This V10-powered Italian supercar makes 610 horsepower in rear-wheel-drive trim and 630 hp in its all-wheel-drive configuration, or enough power to safely make a trip to your local store. The updated Lamborghini also features some styling enhancements adding more visual impact to emphasize that this is the evolution model.
On this episode of Quick Spin, this Lamborghini is reviewed by Blondie guitarist and sports car enthusiast Tommy Kessler. Kessler takes you into this Lambo with a walk around and then brings you along with him while he takes it for a spin. Kessler then joins host Wesley Wren and Robin Warner in the studio to flesh out his feelings about the Italian machine.

The 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman T Is a Budget Brawler

    Porsche

While the 2020 Porsche 718 Cayman T doesn’t have a flat-six mounted behind the rear axle like its iconic big brother, it delivers one of the best driving experiences you can get for the money. This mid-engine, turbocharged 2.0-liter flat-four-powered coupe makes hopping into a Porsche slightly more accessible than the pricier 911. This Cayman T model also sports some weight-saving measures like mechanically adjustable seats and fabric door pulls.
On this episode of Quick Spin, editor Wes Raynal puts this Porsche through its paces and brings you along for the ride. Raynal evaluates how the car drives, how it feels, and how it sits in the Porsche lineup. He guides you through the car’s features in a brief walk around of the Cayman T before taking you along while he reviews the car. In between those pre-recorded sections, Raynal expands his thoughts in a discussion with host Wesley Wren.

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Rides Off into the Sunset
The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 is one of the coolest Mustangs to ever leave a Ford factory. Powered by a 5.2-liter, naturally aspirated, flat-plane-crank V-8, this Mustang changed the perception of Ford’s legend. This high-performance Mustang pushed the coupe further into the direction of a true-blue sports car. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission and revving to an ear-splitting 8250 rpm, this Mustang is an enthusiast’s dream. Unfortunately, nothing can last forever and this Shelby is going out to pasture after the 2020 model year.
In this episode of Quick Spin, managing editor Robin Warner takes you along for a ride in this Shelby Mustang while he evaluates it. Robin shows you how the car handles, how it sounds, and relays how it feels while he puts it to the test. Mixed between those sections, he elaborates and adds context to the Mustang with host Wesley Wren.

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX Snarls at the Competition

    FCA

It’s been a long time coming for a true competitor for Ford’s F-150 Raptor pickup, which has been largely unchallenged in the world of trophy truck inspired pickups. Well, Ram debuted a concept four years ago, which is finally ready for the public. Dubbed the Ram 1500 TRX, this Hellcat-powered pickup sends 702 horsepower through the eight-speed automatic transmission and then to all four wheels. Add to that, that this truck is suspended by a serious set of shocks and springs and has a host of other desert-racing goodies: This might be the current king of showroom off-roaders.
In this episode of Quick Spin, Mark Vaughn takes the TRX’s reins during the truck’s launch event to give listeners some insights. Vaughn captures the truck’s exhaust note from the outside of the rig while it’s at full song. He also captures the experience of launching the high-horsepower hauler with some off-road honing thrown in for good measure. In the studio, Vaughn talks with host Wesley Wren about the truck’s ability to jump and drive on roads.

Suzuki Motorcycles India has launched V-Strom 650 XT today in India. The adventure bike was launched in Australia a couple of weeks ago. The ADV has been able to carve a niche for itself in the Indian biking fraternity. Price is Rs 8.84 lakhs, ex-sh. Two colours are on offer – Pearl White and Champion Yellow.
The updated V-Strom 650 was showcased at the last edition of AutoExpo held in February this year. The India-spec model is similar to the one which went on sale in Australia earlier this month. The adventure motorcycle was expected to hit showrooms in April itself, however, Covid-19 had some other plans which forced the makers to alter theirs.
    Updates on 2021 V-Strom 650 XT
2021 iteration of the middleweight adv-tourer gets an updated engine which now complies with the latest Euro-5/BS6 emission standards. Visually the bike remains identical to its predecessor. It, however, gets new colour options to choose from. These include a full-black paint with a red beak, white colour with gold rims on wheels and silver paint with blue rims and highlights. India gets two colours only.
Even design-wise, V-Strom 650 XT is similar to its predecessor that features a stepped-up seat, a sloping fuel tank with extensions, a raised transparent windscreen and an upswept windscreen.

With regards to features, it gets a smartphone charger, handguards, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 12-V accessory power outlet and a plastic sump guard. In addition to this, it receives a bunch of electronics including a dual-channel ABS, three-stage switchable traction control as standard and more.
    Mechanical Details
Coming to its powertrain, it continues to draw its power from a 645cc, liquid-cooled, V-Twin motor that churns out 70 bhp at 8,800 rpm and 62Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. These figures are almost identical to the outgoing model. This unit is linked to a six-speed transmission. The upcoming model also features Suzuki’s Low RPM to assist the system in order to minimise engine stalling by automatically tuning the idle speed at low revs.

Nothing is different when it comes to the dynamics of the adventure bike. V-Strom 650 XT rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in tubeless Bridgestone Battlax Adventure A40 tyres.
Suspension duties are handled by 43mm telescopic forks at front and link-type preload adjustable mono-shock at rear. Anchorage is taken care of by twin 320mm discs at front with twin-piston calipers and a single 260mm disc at rear with a single-piston caliper. It tips the weighing scale at 216 kg.
Mr. Koichiro Hirao, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “V-Strom has made its own following in India. It is truly a masterpiece with the ultimate balance provided by the natural riding position, comfortable seat and the flexible engine character. MG Hector, Hector Plus, ZS Electric – Discount Offers / Benefits For 1st Time

    Image – Ram
This is for the first time MG Motor India cars are on offer with any sort of discount or benefit

MG Motor India, has recorded sales of 3,625 units of the Hector, Hector Plus and ZS EV in October 2020, the highest sales numbers ever since the automaker made its debut in the Indian market in June 2019. MoM sales increased 47.81 percent over September 20 sales which had stood at 2,537 units.
This success was marked increased sales, normally seen during the festive season. However, this was mostly a pent-up demand and the real test of the auto industry sales is expected to start now – post the festive season. This has now resulted in MG Motor India dealers offering their cars Hector, Hector Plus and ZS EV at attractive benefits and discount offers.
Never before have MG cars been offered with any sort of discount or offer earlier. Ever since the brand launched their first car in mid 2019, their cars have enjoyed a really good demand; always with waiting period. But now, demand is not like earlier, and authorized dealers are offering discounts and free benefits with MG cars for the first time.
MG Car Discount / Benefits – Nov 2020
There are offers on the Hector, Hector Plus and ZS EV. There is no offer on the new Gloster which is a recent addition to the company lineup in the country. The benefits depend on stock available at dealerships and are restricted to certain variants only.
    MG Hector Plus
Benefits on Hector and Hector Plus
Benefits on the Hector and Hector Plus extend upto Rs.25,000 as an exchange bonus scheme; while customers making bookings during the said period will be offered a 3 year AMC maintenance pack for FREE. Waiting period for MG Hector and Hector Plus is no longer multiple weeks, as it was at the start (up to 10 months in some cases). Post lockdown, the waiting periods have comparatively reduced.
    Benefits on MG ZS EV
The electric MG ZS SUV comes in at a discount of Rs.40,000, an exchange offer of Rs.25,000 along with a 3 year AMC maintenance pack. Earlier this year, when the ZS EV was launched, MG Motor India had to close the bookings due to tremendous demand. Bookings had crossed the 2,800 mark in a few days. As per sales data available, MG Motor has not delivered 2,800 units of their electric SUV till date.
    MG ZS Electric
The ZS EV is priced from Rs.20.88-23.58 lakhs and comes in with a 44.5 kWh lithium ion battery and a 3 phase permanent magnet synchronous motor that develops 142.76 hp power and 353Nm torque. The SUV offers an ARAI claimed drive range of 340kms.
The company’s new Gloster full sized premium SUV is not a part of these discount or exchange schemes. In fact, the company has received such demand for the new Gloster that it is all sold out for 2020. Deliveries for the new Gloster have commenced.
Disclaimer – Discounts are offered by dealers, and they vary from dealer to dealer, depending on the stock. Please check with company authorized dealers in your city for exact amount of discount / benefit offered. More

TVS Apache 310 Avengers Iron Man, Thor, Black Panther Edition – Render

    TVS Apache 310 Thor Edition
TVS recently launched the Avenger’s Special Edition of Ntorq which is collectively known as Super Squad Edition

TVS Motor Company has had an eventful last couple of weeks. The bikemaker recently launched the updated 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V. This new model comes with subtle cosmetic updates in the form of new colour schemes as well as a few feature additions.
This was followed by numerous trademarks filed which could be utilised by the company for its future products. These include trademarks such as Raider, Retron, Fiero and Zepplin R  which could be names of future TVS two-wheelers.
However, one of the prominent highlights was the launch of its premium scooter NTorq in a new Marvel’s Avenger’s avatar. Each model sported liveries commemorating Marvel superheroes such as Iron Man, Black Panther and Captain America.
These special edition models of Ntorq are collectively called Super Squad Edition. Now, we have with us a few design renders which show us what could similar liveries of Marvel superheroes could look like on a special edition model of Apache RR 310.
TVS Apache 310 Iron Man Edition
    Avengers Edition Apache
These design renders portray Marvel superheroes such as Iron Man, Hulk and Thor at their best as their onscreen and comic book avatars. Just like the Ntorq, the liveries enhance the overall look of the motorcycle and will certainly appeal to all the ardent fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Iron Man version of RR 310 sports a signature Matte Red livery with a black treatment. Golden accents have been added that mimic Tony Stark’s alter ego and its suit.  Same goes for Thor and Hulk which sport silver and green liveries respectively along with their respective body graphics and a black scheme.
TVS Apache 310 Black Panther Edition
The mechanical aspect of the product(s) in question will likely be left untouched. This means powertrain, transmission and hardware setup of the bikes will remain same. All details mentioned above are mere hypotheses as there is no official word from TVS regarding such development. However, we do hope that the Hosur-based brand is looking at this and gets the inspiration to create something similar for the production-spec Apache RR 310.
    Other Activities By TVS
TVS has had a very fruitful year in 2020. Despite the novel coronavirus crisis and slowdown in sales, the company has achieved a lot of feats this year. The most notable of them being the acquisition of the iconic British motorcycle brand Norton. Founded in 1898, Norton motorcycles was taken over by the Indian bikemaker at a whopping amount of GBP 16 million.
Also, the manufacturer has registered a trademark named Ronin earlier this year which is expected to be launched next year. In all probability, this new product will either be a cruiser or a full-fledged adventure tourer. More
