2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F New Model Reaches Dealer Showroom – First Look Walkaround

    2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F
Along with adding new features to the Pulsar 220F, Bajaj has also increased prices by Rs 2,003

A popular dual-purpose, performance oriented commuter bike, Bajaj Pulsar 220F is now available in its 2021 iteration. The updated model has started arriving at showrooms and is available for test rides. Pulsar 220F new model comes with new features and improved engine performance.
Bajaj Pulsar 220F 2021 new features
One of the key updates is the repositioning of the odometer wire. As compared to the earlier model that had the odometer wire connected to the front wheel, the new model has the wire connected to the rear wheel. This is part of the digital upgrade of the motorcycle, which also includes an updated instrument console.
The speedometer is placed at the left whereas the info screen is on the right. It displays a range of information such as trip meter, fuel economy per trip and distance to empty. The only things that seem to be lacking is a gear indicator and clock. These weren’t available in the earlier model either.
    Bajaj Pulsar 220F 2021 engine
Updated Pulsar 220F will continue using the same 220 cc DTS-i BS6, oil-cooled engine that is capable of delivering 20.4 ps of max power and 18.55 Nm of max torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Below is the detailed walkaround video by MRD Vlogs.

However, based on test rides by YouTuber MRD Vlogs, performance and acceleration have been improved on the new model. The engine also seems smoother, as compared to the existing model. It is possible that the engine may have been fine-tuned to deliver improved performance.
As shown in the test ride video, the bike accelerates from 0 to 70 kmph in just around 4-5 seconds.  It also achieves a top speed of 112 kmph in a seemingly effortless manner.
Bajaj Pulsar 220F 2021 design and styling
There are no major changes in the design and styling of updated 220F. It continues with its sporty profile, as is evident in its projector headlamps, aerodynamic semi-fairing, split seats, sleek LED tail lamp, laser edged graphics, split rear grab rails, upswept silencer with deep carbon black wrapping, and colour coded alloy wheel decals. Colour options of Back Blue and Black Red are also the same as earlier.
    2021 Bajaj Pulsar 220F
Apart from the new features and enhanced engine performance, all other features and cycle parts are the same as earlier. The bike utilizes telescopic front suspension with anti-friction brush and 5-way adjustable Nitrox shock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are performed by 280 mm disc at the front and 230 mm disc at the rear.
With the updates, Bajaj Pulsar 220F new 2021 model could become pricier by around Rs 2k. The current model is available at a starting price of Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). More

What to Buy with Your $600 Stimulus Check: Window Shop with Car and Driver

With a second round of stimulus checks putting $600 in the hands of people across the U.S., the Window Shop team decided to take a look at vehicles you could buy for that amount of money. Most of us prioritized reliability and ease of repair. We quickly discovered that the vast majority of cars being sold at this price point don’t have working engines or have some other immediate need. We also noticed that when the outlay dips this low, the for-sale postings often lack photos—something you need if you’re going to try to do a show about cars for sale on the internet. Fortunately, we’re—ahem—rather good at finding cars online.Senior editor Joey Capparella’s search skills pay off when he finds a very practical 1995 Toyota Corolla wagon. Judging from the condition of the paint, this Corolla has probably never seen the inside of a garage, spending its 26 years exposed to the elements. We can only guess at the condition of the interior because there are no photos. But we’re willing to look past these problems because of the five-speed manual transmission.Contributor John Pearley Huffman counters Capparella’s working Toyota with a 2002 Dodge Durango that may or may not run and that probably needs a new engine. Practicality is at the top of deputy testing director K.C. Colwell’s list, and he lands a 2002 Honda Odyssey that needs only a water pump. And searching for the definition of “normcore” leads contributor Jonathon Ramsey to a 2000 Saturn L-series.In addition to arguing the merits of one another’s finds, we question easily verifiable facts, discover what’s inside a 1996 Buick Riviera’s leather seat, and discuss why the panel gaps on a Saturn L-series are so incredibly large. The cars might not be great, but have a lot of laughs with this one. It’s possible you will, too.

See the First $3.6 Million Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport in the U.S.

This is the first Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport to arrive in the United States.
    It’s finished in Quartz White and powered by a 1479-hp quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16.
Only 60 will be made, and they cost $3.6 million each.
Bugatti recently decided that it wanted to develop a track-focused car, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t going to continue making some of the fastest straight line accelerating cars in the world as well. The Chiron Pur Sport is the result of Bugatti’s desire to crush apexes, and one of the 60 cars has now arrived on U.S. soil at Bugatti of Greenwich, Connecticut.

The Chiron Pur Sport is 110 pounds lighter than the standard Chiron, and it has a 74.8-inch fixed rear spoiler, a lighter set of wheels wrapped in specially developed Michelin Sport Cup 2R tires, a stiffer suspension, and a 3D-printed lightweight titanium exhaust spitting out of a huge rear diffuser. The first example to arrive in the U.S. is finished in Quartz White with exposed carbon fiber and Gun Powder accents. Inside, there’s an optional glass roof, and the interior is finished in Italian Red leather.

Bugatti’s quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16 engine is at the heart of the Pur Sport, and its output of 1500 horsepower is unchanged from the standard Chiron, though it has a 6900-rpm redline. Bugatti claims that it’ll help the Pur Sport reach 62 mph in 2.3 seconds. In our testing, a Chiron Sport reached 60 mph in 2.4 seconds on its way to a lightning quick 9.4-second quarter-mile at 158 mph, making it the quickest car we’ve ever tested.
This example was sold to a customer at Bugatti of Greenwich, Connecticut, for over $3 million. Only 60 Pur Sports will be built, and we hope to see a few more land on our shores.

Toyota Will Pay $180 Million over Clean Air Act Violations

Between 2005 and 2015, Toyota failed to follow proper reporting procedures for emission-related issues with its vehicles in the U.S. market, according to a settlement it just reached with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Toyota employees in Japan knew about the issues but failed to correct them, the federal government said in a civil lawsuit against the automaker.
Toyota has agreed to a record $180 million fine but says the issues resulted in “negligible” emissions impacts, “if any.”

Sony Electric Car Starts Public Road Testing – 1 Year After Its Reveal

    Sony Electric Car
Vision-S electric car features a technology that alters the temperature of the cabin depending on the driver’s behaviour

Electric vehicles are the new normals in the automotive world. Every now and then we hear about a new electric car being developed and tested around some corner of the world. But when we hear a name like Sony being attached to a car, everyone sits up to take notice of it.
Yes, Sony indeed has been developing an electric car which the world came to know about a year ago when it was unveiled at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020 as Vision-S electric car concept. A new video from the Japanese tech giant shows that a prototype of the car has taken to the roads for testing.
The video shows a prototype of the EV wearing a camouflage-style wrap and a number plate being tested on the snowy roads of Austria with alpine woods covered in snow. The company has its engineering center in Graz, Austria.
After its maiden appearance at CES in January 2020, the prototype moved to Tokyo in July 2020 for advancing its sensing and audio technologies. Though testing on public roads has already begun, the EV does not go on sale anytime soon.
    [embedded content]
Specs- No lag in performance surely
Information about the Vision-S electric car has been scarce. The specs announced on the concept car included a dual-motor with an all-wheel-drive setup generating an output of 536 bhp, 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 4.8 seconds and a claimed top speed of 240 kmph. At the time of its unveiling, Sony admitted that the Vision-S concept was developed as a means to showcase the company’s in-car entertainment and autonomous driving systems.
Features and Technologies galore on Sony Vision-S
As expected, the tech giant has packed the prototype with high-end technologies including camera sensors and more. Speaking of technologies, Sony has equipped the Vision-S prototype with 40 sensors both inside as well as outside instead of the originally intended 33 claimed at ACE last year in order to enhance its autonomous driving capabilities. These sensors include Solid State LiDAR for day and object detection and night-time vision and CMOs image sensors which help in object detection, colour identification and road sensing.
Elaborating further on the technology part, the most eye-grabbing moment is a large widescreen encompassing the entire dashboard. The cabin also features cameras which continuously monitor driver and passenger facial expressions, gestures, and lip reading.
    Sony Electric Car Dashboard
Another highlight is 360 Reality Audio which offers an immersive audio experience. The infotainment system also offers a 5G connectivity which also allows one to play your favourite game on PlaySation.
Currently, the prototype has been equipped with Level 2 autonomous driving technology with features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic lane changing and a self-parking system. However, with improvement in technology in the coming future, Sony intends the final production car to be equipped with Level 4 ability which means full self-driving capabilities.
    Other details
Some of its technology on board seemed to have been developed in association with its partners including Blackberry, Bosch, Magna Steyr, Nvidia and others. In terms of dimension, the Vision-S prototype measures 4,895 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,450 mm in height. It offers a wheelbase of 3000 mm and stands at a ground clearance of 120 mm (up to 135mm). If and when this car actually hits the road, it will be nothing less than a spectacle. More
