Kijima Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 Improves Touring Capability

Kijima Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX 250In India, Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 is offered in a single variant and three colour options, rivalling Hero Xpulse 200, KTM 250 Adventure
Because Suzuki V-Strom SX is not a true blue off-roader, it tilts more towards touring side. Japanese aftermarket motorcycle parts provider Kijima has come up with a unique concept to increase Suzuki V-Strom SX 250’s touring appeal. This setup is more geared towards accessories and not a complete makeover. Let’s take a look.
    Kijima Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 is based entirely on the Gixxer 250. It not only shares the same platform with the latter but also borrows several features and also its engine specifications. Ideally suited for both city and highway riding, the SX 250 sees its overall wheelbase extended by 100mm, taking it up to 1,440mm.
Kijima Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX 250
This is for better stability as compared to the Gixxer. It boasts a taller split seat with a beak inspired by the Suzuki DR-Z Racer. The handlebar is new while foot-pegs have been moved slightly forward for a more upright riding stance. There is a bikini fairing and a tall windscreen for wind protection. These are the attributes that make V-Strom SX a capable tourer.
Standard bike from the company misses out on dedicated touring-worthy features and that’s where Kijima comes into action. For starters, there is an LED fog light kit with both white light and yellow light support. This aids in safety and visibility as yellow lights still work best in rainy situations and wet roads. Fancy aluminium and carbon composite ORVMs look nice and offer rear visibility.
Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 – LED Fog Light Kit
Behind the custom smoked K3 windscreen, there is a 5-inch smart touch display installed on mount bar stay which is powered by the bike’s electricals. There are two K3 tactical side bags (13L each with rain covers) with bag supports along with a 30L top box attached to a dedicated box base. There is a custom engine guard too, protecting the heart of the motorcycle in unfavourable events.
    Specs of stock motorcycle
Other than that, we don’t see any other changes, staying true to the stock motorcycle, just like Suzuki had visualised. Other notable elements of Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 are 12 liter capacity, LED tail lamp and double barrel exhaust, 19 inch front wheel wrapped with 100/90 tyre and 17 inch rear wheel wrapped with 140/70 tyre, a ground clearance of 205mm and kerb weight of 167 kg. Overall dimensions stand at 2,180 mm length, 880mm width, 1,355mm height and a wheelbase of 1,440mm.
    Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX 250
There is also a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and all rider aids such as call and message alerts along with turn-by-turn navigation, missed call alert and caller ID, last parked location, speed exceed warning, etc. There is also a USB charging port and a rear luggage rack as part of standard package
    Modified Suzuki V-Strom SX 250
Suzuki V-Strom SX 250 also shares its engine with the Gixxer. This includes a 249cc oil-cooled engine that offers 26 bhp of peak power and 22 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike gets dual-channel ABS and suspension that includes telescopic front forks and a rear mono-shock. Braking is via single discs on both ends. The engine allows the Suzuki SX 250 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 9.6 seconds to hit a top speed of 150 km/h with mileage at 36 km/l.

Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV Glass Roof Spied – Looks Huge

Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUVUpcoming Mahindra BE.05 has a sporty profile and will be equipped with a comprehensive range of advanced features
Even though Mahindra has several bestselling SUVs, there’s no dedicated offering in the compact SUV space. This gap will be filled soon with the upcoming BE.05 electric SUV. Test mules have been spotted frequently, revealing many details about the SUV.
    Mahindra BE.05 glassroof spied
Snapped from a height, the spy shot reveals the sleek, modern design of BE.05. Aerodynamic properties are clearly evident, all across the curvy bonnet, heavily raked windshield and a coupe-like sloping roofline. Spy shots are credited to automotive enthusiast Viraj. The glass roof is huge and covers almost the entire length and width of the roof. It will probably be the largest in the segment at launch.
    Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV
In the compact SUV segment, Tata Curvv EV and Citroen Basalt are the only two SUVs with a coupe profile. However, Basalt does not get any sunroof options. Considering that most people prefer sunroofs, the sub-segment of coupe-styled compact SUVs will witness a fight between BE.05 and Tata Curvv EV. Other rivals for BE.05 include MG ZS EV and upcoming Maruti eVX and Hyundai Creta EV.
    Flamboyant exterior profile
Most of the features seen with the BE.05 Concept have been carried forward in the production model. Mahindra BE.05 has sharp panelling all across and the eye-catching lighting setup seems like a premium aftermarket upgrade. The striking C-shaped LED DRLs are exactly the same as seen with the concept. The C-shaped lighting, with slight variations, will be seen with other INGLO based SUVs as well. It’s a signature feature present both at the front and rear as well.
    Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV
Side profile exudes sophistication and refinement, with features such as large aero wheels, low profile tyres and flush door handles. Other highlights include C-pillar mounted rear door handles and all-four-disc brakes. The charging socket is located on the rear left quarter panel. BE.05 has a sporty rear, featuring a prominent tail gate and race-styled twin spoiler. All these features ensure a dominating road presence for BE.05.
    Mahindra BE.05 Electric SUV
    Fully loaded
Mahindra BE.05 will have premium interiors and all the features that one would expect from a compact SUV. Test mules have revealed a hexagonal steering wheel with illuminated BE logo on the centre. The focus seems to be exclusively on the BE brand instead of the twin peaks logo seen with other Mahindra cars. BE.05 will be getting dual screens for the infotainment and instrument cluster. In comparison, the upcoming XUV.e8 (electric version of XUV700) will be getting three screens. The third screen will be for the front passenger.
    Mahindra BE.05 Top Model Spied
Talking about BE.05, another key highlight is the clear separation between driver and passenger compartments. This enhances the overall cockpit experience, especially for the driver. BE.05 will have a long list of comfort and convenience features. Safety kit will include ADAS. In terms of performance, both single motor and dual motor configurations are likely. BE.05 is expected to have a 60-kWh battery pack and offer a range of around 500 km. More

BYD M6 Electric MPV Teased Ahead Of Launch – E6 Replacement

BYD M6 Electric MPV TeasedAhead of BYD M6 electric MPV launch, the company has officially de-listed their current electric MPV, E6, from the website
India’s electric car landscape is slowly being populated with new vehicles. More brands are exploring electric powertrains today, than before. Apart from launching new vehicles, existing electric cars need to be updated too. We’re talking about BYD E6 update, which is confirmed to be launched in India soon.
    BYD M6 India Launch Confirmed
There is very little light as to what it will be called. Said model is teased officially by BYD and will launch soon. As seen in the teaser, BYD has shown a glimpse of its upcoming electric vehicle. We can see penta-element LED headlights along with Atto 3 inspired front grill. These attributes point towards one vehicle, which is BYD M6.
    BYD M6 Electric MPV Teased
This incoming electric vehicle is highly likely to be BYD M6 electric MPV which will replace the aging E6 on sale in India. BYD has went one step ahead and has de-listed E6 from its Indian lineup too. Further strengthening our speculation. The line “Transformation to new Generation” was followed by a “7”. The “7” in BYD India’s teaser might represent that it is a 7-seater as well.
    BYD M6
BYD’s teaser on social media handle also mentioned the word “Max”. For context, BYD Song Max is another name for BYD M6. These easter eggs suggest that Indian model might get a new name – E7, E6 Max, E7 Max, M7, M6 Max, M7 Max are some of the possibilities. That said, name of this upcoming E6 replacing electric MPV is highly likely to be M6.
    BYD M6
We say this because it was launched in Indonesia in July 2024 as BYD M6. Price ranges between IDR 379 million (Rs 20.6 lakh) and IDR 429 million (Rs 23.3 lakh). There are three trim levels in Indonesia – Standard 7 Seater, Superior 7 Seater and Superior Captain 6 Seater. There are four colours offered – Crystal White, Cosmos Black, Harbour Grey and Ink Stone Blue.
    BYD M6 7 Seater
    What does it get?
Dimension-wise, BYD M6 measures 4,710 mm long, 1,810 mm wide, 1,690 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,800 mm. 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 225/55 rubber and the ground clearance is 170 mm. Overall design looks like it is an evolution of BYD E6, which it is. BYD is flaunting the MPV design and is not selling it as a fake SUV with body cladding.
    BYD M6
We already spoke about the LED headlights. BYD calls it “Diamond Starlight Levitation LED Headlights”. There is a neat kink in the window line that reminds me of a Tata Hexa, for some reason. On the inside, we will see a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment display, a well-laid-out dashboard, seating for 6 or 7 passengers, a large sunroof, ventilated seats, wireless charging pad, electric tailgate, ADAS and more.
    BYD M6 Dashboard
Powertrain-wise, India will probably get a sole 71.8 kWh BYD Blade battery with a claimed range of 530 km on a single charge (NEDC certified). There might be a 200 bhp electric motor, powering the front wheels with 310 Nm of instant torque capable of propelling M6 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. There is a smaller 55 kWh version too, which is less likely to make it to our shores. Launch timeline was not revealed, but festive season is a lucrative proposition for any OEM. More

New Hero Destini Scooter Launch Soon – First Official Teaser

New Hero Destini ScooterAll existing Hero scooters have a contemporary profile, which is why there’s scope for a new scooter with a classic design format
Although Hero MotoCorp is a market leader in the commuter motorcycle segment, its scooters are relatively less popular. One of the reasons could be the lack of a truly unique design and styling. A positive change is expected in consumer perceptions with upcoming products such as the new Destini.
New Hero Destini scooter – Official Teaser
As of now, Destini 125 is the top selling scooter from Hero MotoCorp. Last year in August, a new variant, Destini Prime, was launched. It is currently the most affordable Destini model. Hero is now working on the new Destini facelift model that has significant changes to its design and styling.
New Hero Destini Scooter – LED DRL, Headlight
Latest teaser has revealed a tilt towards retro aesthetics. From the curvy, minimalistic body panelling, it appears that the new Hero Destini facelift is following the design approach used with brands such as Vespa and Lambretta.
Front apron has undergone a major design overhaul, featuring a new lighting setup and curvy layers. Changes are evident across the front fender, headlight, cowl, and rear-view mirrors. We have already seen a new dual-tone Pearl Black colour option for the new Destini.
New Hero Destini Scooter – LED Tail Light
And there could be more such vibrant colour options for the updated scooter. Moving to the sides, we see a new dual-tone stepped seat that helps achieve a sporty look and feel. Side panels come with smooth surfacing, a signature feature of popular retro scooters. The 3D ‘Destini’ logo on the side panel further enhances the scooter’s dynamic profile.
New Hero Destini Scooter – Turn Indicator
While the exhaust pipe is the same as the current model, the new Destini gets a new exhaust shield. The pillion backrest has a new design and it could also be functionally relevant with improvements to overall comfort. Alloy wheels are new and it would be better if Hero offers 12-inch units instead of the existing 10-inch wheels.
    New Hero Destini Scooter
At the rear, the overhang too gets the retro touch. The bulky tail lamp and indicators seen with the existing model have been replaced with much slimmer units. The external fuel filler cap has transformed from a circular to a square unit.
New Hero Destini Scooter – Disc Brake
New Hero Destini 125 – Hardware specs
It is unlikely that there will be any changes to the engine. New Hero Destini 125 will continue using the existing 124.6cc, air cooled, SI engine. It delivers 9 bhp and 10.4 Nm. However, there will be a change in the braking setup, where select variants of the new Destini will get a front disc brake. As of now, all models are equipped with 130 mm front and rear drum brakes. Suspension setup will be the same, telescopic forks at front and unit swing with spring loaded hydraulic damper at rear.
    [embedded content]
Design sketches have indicated the possibility of a new instrument cluster. It could be a fully digital display instead of the existing digi analogue cluster. New Hero Destini is expected to be launched during the upcoming festive season. It could be offered at a slightly higher pricing. That shouldn’t be a concern since Hero Destini is one of the most affordable 125cc scooters in the country. More
