2021 MV Agusta F3 Rosso Revealed – Gets Updated Powertrain, Features

2021 MV Agusta F3 RossoMV Augusta F3 Rosso is pitted against the likes of Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R and Ducati Panigale V2
MV Agusta is a leader in getting art and superbikes together. All their motorcycles are scorching head turners. Not just looks but the motorcycle from the Italian brand also possess some feisty performance which makes them one of the most loved machines on tracks. The company has updated another one of its speed demons for 2021 with updated emission norms and a few additional techs.
The Italian superbike maker has updated F3 Rosso for 2021 which is now Euro-5 compliant and gets a brand-new set of electronics. However, the upgrades are far more complex and nuanced which is said to offer even better driving pleasure without compromising on environment.

    Design
In terms of design, the overall styling of F3 Rosso is still intact with subtle tweaks added to accentuate the bike’s sporty appeal. As evident, the design of F3 has been derived from its larger sibling F4 which is considered to be one of the best-looking motorcycles ever made. It continues to feature a single-pod headlight, a fully-faired design, rear-view mirrors mounted on front fairing with integrated turn indicators and split-style seats.
The exhaust setup has been revised slightly. The triple-outlet rectangular exhaust canisters are now wrapped in a black heat shield instead of the old silver one which looks sharper. In addition, the dazzling Agostini Red colour scheme with the contrasting black engine-gearbox assembly and underpinnings would swoon the hearts of any racer.

    Updated Features, Rider Aids
The updated equipment gets a new 5.5-inch TFT instrument console with legible readouts, however, the graphics seem underwhelming. The display comes with Bluetooth connectivity as well as MV Ride App which can be paired to any Android or iOS device which enables riders to customise the settings according to their liking. It also provides turn-by-turn navigation and allows riders to share their trip information on social media platforms.
2021 F3 Ross also gets an updated set of electronics with a new IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) platform. It is now offered with cornering ABS which has been developed by Continental and a lean-sensitive traction control system for a better grip on the road. MV Agusta has provided an updated Front Lift Control system or wheelie control in common terms that allows a controlled wheelie rather than prevent it altogether.
    More Accessible High-End Performance
The middleweight superbike is still powered by the same 798cc, inline three-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor but has undergone some small yet significant updates. The DLC (Diamond-like-Carbon) coating on cylinder walls and redesigned valve guides have resulted in a reduction in internal friction. Other updates include new injectors offering more injection pressure and a revised exhaust manifold have led to better power and torque curves.

Although the output figures of 145 bhp at 13,000 rpm and 88 Nm at 10,100 rpm are almost similar to its predecessor, the peak torque is now achieved 500 rpm earlier. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox which gets a new clutch basket and a third generation Quick-Shift EAS 3.0 bi-directional quick-shifter which makes faster and smoother shifts.
No changes have been made to its suspension setup which gets Marzocchi USD forks at front and a Sachs mono-shock at rear, both fully adjustable. Prices for the updated F3 Rosso are expected to be announced in coming weeks. Its launch in India remains uncertain as MV Agusta currently has no local distributor since Kinetic-owned MotoRoyale terminated the agreement with the company a year ago. More

2021 MV Agusta Rush Debuts With 998cc 4 Cyl 205 BHP Engine

MV Agusta RushThe updated 2021 Rush is offered at a steep price tag of 38,000 Euro (approx. INR 34 lakh) and will not make it to Indian shores
Whenever one thinks of fast and exotic motorcycles, the name MV Agusta is bound to come up. The iconic Italian brand has added, or should we say updated, yet another one in its armoury. The company has revealed the latest iteration of the naked litre-class motorcycle with the mandatory Euro-5 emission upgrades and a few subtle cosmetic upgrades.
The motorcycle remains a limited edition model and will be capped to a meagre 300 units available for sale across the globe. Pre-bookings for the hypernaked motorcycle commenced in July last year while deliveries are expected to begin soon. MV Agusta models are known for their outrageous and striking designs and Rush is no different.

    Aggressive Design
Inspired by its military origins, 2021 Rush surely comes across as very sharp and intimidating. Highlights such as a muscular fuel tank with its sharp edges and new colours take centre stage.
The round LED headlamp with intricately designed internals accompanied by bar-end mirrors give it a hint of retro appeal. The beefy fuel tank, a clip-on handlebar and rear-set footpegs provide it with a proper sports bike stance. The sporty appeal is further accentuated by the contrasting yellow highlights all across the bike.

Another unique highlight is the floating rear section which doubles as a small pillion seat perfect for backrest support and not so much for an actual pillion. The seats are made of Alcantara leather and at 845mm, it is a substantial climb for the rider.
Other notable highlights include a neatly integrated tail-lamp, golden colour front forks, a belly pan, an underbelly exhaust with quad pipes on full display, a single-sided swingarm and a 200-section rear tyre.
    Features & Electronic Aids
As far as features go, a new 5.5-inch TFT instrument screen now offers My MV App connectivity and allows riders to adjust settings remotely. Other standard features include Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, mobisat tracker and navigator. However, the highlight is the whole gamut of IMU-based riders aids which includes traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, multiple ride models, cruise control, launch control and front lift control.
    MV Agusta Rush
    Improved Performance & Dynamics
When it comes to performance, MV Agusta has made a few minor improvements to the bike’s heart. For example, it gets new DLC-coated valve guides that reduce internal friction along with a new camshaft timing which is claimed to improve both low-end and mid-range torque output. As a result, the 998cc, inline four-cylinder engine spits out 205.15 bhp at 13,000rpm and a peak torque of 116.5 Nm at 11,000rpm. The output figures push the hypernaked speedster at a top speed over 300kmph.
This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox which comes with a revised quick-shifter, called EAS 3.0, for even smoother and more precise gear shifts. The motorcycle employs a CrMo steel tubular trellis frame that is suspended on a fully adjustable Ohlins electronic suspension setup with hydraulic USD forks at front and a single shock absorber at rear. Braking hardware comprises Brembo Stylemas calipers with 320mm dual-disc at front and 220mm single-disc at rear. More

  • MV Agusta’s future models to get Akrapovic exhaust – New partnership

MV Agusta’s BS6 models will launch in India next year under a new dealer partner
Italian premium motorcycle brand MV Agusta has teamed up Slovenian performance exhaust manufacturer Akrapovic to make some of the best-sounding motorcycles on the planet. Under the partnership, Akrapovic will design exclusive and model-specific full-exhaust systems for future MV Agusta products. The engineering will see extensive usage of titanium and carbon fibre. Needless to say, they will be crafted in line with MV Agusta’s sought-after design philosophy.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta, states that exhaust note has always been part of the ‘MV Agusta experience’. MV Agusta heavily prioritises on looks and sound in its inline-three and inline-four products, yet the new partnership with Akrapovic aims to go beyond this. He added that both brands follow a similar policy of “accepting nothing but the best” and hence, the partnership promises multiple synergies and products for motorcycle enthusiasts across the world.
Uros Rosa, CEO of Akrapovic, shares that this alliance marks a new chapter in motorcycle history. He claims that the OEM-specific exhausts will sport “designs that have never been seen before”. Focus will be put on MV Agusta’s ‘Motorcycle Art’ philosophy in addition to creating a brilliant acoustic experience. He commented that Akrapovic will make a “statement for all to see and hear” that complements the Italian automaker’s styling principles perfectly.

    Image for reference.
Both company founders, Count Domenico Agusta and Igor Akrapovic came from a motorsport background. Owing to this, the companies have had a deep-rooted ‘racing DNA’ right from the start. One can expect Akrapovic to produce race-specific non-road-legal systems for range-topping machines from MV Agusta.
    MV Agusta India
In February 2020, MV Agusta India ended the partnership with Pune-based multi-brand dealer network, MotoRoyale Kinetic. The company is in talks with a new partner for Indian operations, with an aim to launch BS6 models sometime next year (most likely in the second half).
In an online Q&A session, Timur Sardarov commented that “there were constant misinterpretations of the contract” with Kinetic MotoRoyale. Furthermore, the company was “not represented (on the Indian market) in the right way” — hear his full statement.
Until the Indian automotive industry shifted to BS6 emission norms, Kinetic MotoRoyale listed four MV Agusta models: F3 800 RC, Dragster 800 RR (last one to launch in the country), Turismo Veloce 800 and Brutale 800 RR America. Ex-showroom prices started from around Rs 15 lakh. The models were available at a discount of at least 4-6 lakh towards the end of BS4 era. More
