    Mahindra BE 6 Phase 2 Test Drives StartThe excitement around Mahindra’s new BE 6 and XEV 9e are at an all time high. That is because Mahindra has now commenced test drives of BE 6 and XEV 9e. These test drives are held in a phase-wise manner starting with Phase 1 from 14th January 2025 in 6 cities. Phase 2 just commenced, starting 24th January 2025 from 15 new cities.

    Phase 1 test drives had commenced from 14th January 2025 across 6 cities. These are Delhi NCR, Mumbai MMR, Hyderabad, Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai. Phase 2 is a lot more exciting as it incorporates 15 major cities across India, starting yesterday, January 24th 2025.

    These 15 cities are Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Cochin, Coimbatore, Goa, Howrah, Indore Jaipur, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Surat, Vadodara and Chandigarh Tricity. Phase 3 takes these test drives pan India, giving a taste of the future to potential buyers across the country.

    Bookings for Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e will start from February 14th 2025 for top-spec Pack 3 variants equipped with the bigger 79 kWh battery packs. Mahindra has also unlocked ‘Add Your Preference’ option on their app for BE 6 and XEV 9e from 7th January 2025. Deliveries of Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack 3 with 79 kWh battery pack will start from 7th February 2025.
    Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e Top Variants Pricing
    Late last year, Mahindra revealed the prices of base-spec Pack 1 variants of BE 6 and XEV 9e, equipped with the smaller 59 kWh battery pack. Rs 18.9 lakh (Ex-sh) for BE 6 and Rs 21.9 lakh (Ex-sh) for XEV 9e. The bookings and delivery timeline of these variants are yet to be announced.

    Top-spec Pack 3 to be sold first
    Earlier this month, Mahindra announced the prices of top-spec Pack 3 variants with larger 79 kWh battery pack at Unlimit India Tech Day. These variants come with all the bells and whistles (except for 20-inch alloy wheels, which are optional). Prices for BE 6 Pack 3 79 kWh is Rs 26.9 lakh (Ex-sh) and it is Rs 30.5 lakh (Ex-sh) for XEV 9e Pack 3 79 kWh variant.

    To nudge the buyers to choose top-spec Pack 3 79 kWh variants, Mahindra is also offering attractive EMI offers termed “Three For Me”. EMI for Pack 3 79 kWh variants is the same as Pack 1 59 kWh variants. For BE 6, EMI is 39,224 and it is Rs 45,450 for XEV 9e.

      Mahindra BE 6e Vs. XEV 9e – Base Variant Features Compared

      Mahindra BE 6e and XUV 9eWhile the base variants of BE 6e and XEV 9e are well-equipped, they lack features such as panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, self-parking function, etc.
      With ambitious plans to dominate the EV segment, Mahindra has introduced two of its born-electric SUVs. While BE 6e is priced at Rs 18.90 lakh, the XEV 9e starts at Rs 21.90 lakh. Multiple new models will be launched in the coming years.
      Mahindra BE 6e Pack One – Features, safety kit
      As of now, Mahindra has revealed the details of only the base variants of BE 6e and XEV 9e. ‘Pack One’ terminology is being used to refer to the base variants. Talking about features, the BE 6e Pack One base variant gets an all-LED lighting setup. It has 18-inch wheels with aero covers and exterior cladding in glossy black finish. A 150-litre frunk provides extra storage space in addition to the 455-litre rear boot.

      High-tech equipment is one of the key USPs of Mahindra’s born-electric SUVs. Even the base variant of BE 6e is fully loaded. It has dual 12.3-inch screens for the infotainment and a customizable instrument cluster. The carmaker is using its proprietary Mahindra Artificial Intelligence Architecture (MAIA) to power the various tech systems. One of the fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets has been used to ensure a seamless experience.
      A comprehensive range of connectivity and remote functions are available with Mahindra BE 6e. There’s OTA updates, 5G connectivity, pre-installed OTT apps, built-in Amazon Alexa, social media apps and external device support for rear passengers. BE 6e Pack One base variant has four speakers and two tweeters. It has push button start/stop, fabric upholstery, keyless entry, auto climate control and rear AC vents. Other highlights include a cooled glove box, 65W Type-C charging ports at front and rear, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment and cruise control.
      Safety kit includes six airbags, rear camera and sensors, brake-by-wire tech, rear disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system and auto headlights. There’s rain sensing wipers, electronic parking brake and driver drowsiness detection system.
      Mahindra XEV 9e Pack One – Features, safety kit
      Most of the features listed above for BE 6e are common for XEV 9e. There are only a few differences in the equipment and safety package. For example, an electronic parking brake is not available with the Pack One base variant of XEV 9e. Other missing items include 5G connectivity, push button start/stop and pre-installed OTT, news, social media and shopping apps.

      Mahindra BE 6e Pack One, XEV 9e Pack One – Powertrain
      Both models share the same powertrain. The 59-kWh battery pack connects to an electric motor that generates 231 hp and 380 Nm. Both SUVs have a range of 542 km (MIDC). Other features common to both SUVs include virtual engine sounds, single-pedal drive, variable ratio power steering and drive modes of Range, Everyday and Race. BE 6e Pack One base variant gets Boost function with the Race drive mode. It also has low rolling resistance tyres.

      Base variants of BE 6e and XEV 9e miss out on safety features such as 7-airbags, ADAS Level 2, blind spot monitoring, a 360° camera and self-parking function. Other items missing include a panoramic sunroof with integrated ambient lighting and a premium 1,400W, 16-speaker sound system by Harman Kardon with Dolby Atmos. BE 6e and XEV 9e base variants also do not have a head-up display with augmented reality. To access these features, users will need to choose the higher variants of BE 6e and XEV 9e.
      BE 6e Pack One and XEV 9e Pack One base variants are available at Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 21.90 lakh. However, users will need to pay an additional amount for the charger and any installation required. Users will be able to choose from a 7.2 kW and a 11 kW charger. More

Users will be able to access 60+ apps across entertainment, music, podcast, OTT movies, shopping and productivity.

      Mahindra BE 6e gets dual screens for the infotainment and instrument console. Users can expect an immersive aural experience with the 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos. Splendid sky views will be always within reach with the large infinity roof. The mood can be further enhanced with the sophisticated ambient lighting system. Mahindra BE 6e comes with pre-set themes of Calm, Cozy and Club. Rear passengers can also enjoy the journey with the in-car infotainment screens provided at the back of front seats.

      A comprehensive range of safety features will be available with Mahindra BE 6e. The ADAS Level 2+ system is equipped with 5 radars and 1 vision camera. The SUV can detect pedestrians, animals, barricades and various types of vehicles. Driver fatigue can be detected with the Driver and Occupant Monitoring System (DOMS). The camera used for DOMS can also be used for taking selfies or video calls. BE 6e also gets a 360° surround view monitor system. Another key highlight is the autopark system that utilizes 12 ultrasonic sensors.

      BE 6e is based on the advanced INGLO platform. The 3-in-1 integrated powertrain produces 210 kW (285 PS) of max power. Range with the 79 kWh LFP battery pack is 682 km (MIDC P1+P2). BE 6e can achieve 0-100 km/H acceleration in 6.7 seconds. Users can choose from drive modes of Range, Everyday and Race. Talking about charging, BE 6e can load 20-80% in under 20 minutes when using a 175-kW fast charger.

      Lifetime battery warranty
      Customers buying BE 6e won’t have to worry about the cost of battery replacement. That’s because Mahindra is offering lifetime battery warranty for the first registered owners (private registration). Even if the vehicle is sold, the next owners will continue to enjoy the standard battery warranty of 10 years / 200,000 km.
