    Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6 New Variants Homologated
    With the launch of BE 6 and XEV 9e, Mahindra has set a new precedent for electric vehicles in India to follow. These are easily the most exciting and futuristic electric vehicles to have ever launched in mainstream Indian car market.
    Recently, Mahindra expanded the variant lineup of BE 6 and XEV 9e with Pack Two B79 variants, which outshined the competition with immense VFM quotient. Mahindra will further expand the variant lineup as suggested by recent homologation documents that have leaked on the internet. Let’s take a closer look.
    BE 6 and XEV 9e 4 New Variants
    After launching Pack Two B79 variants of BE 6 and XE 9e, Mahindra is applying a similar strategy to further expand the variant lineup. This time, Mahindra has turned its gaze towards Pack Three and Pack Three Select trim levels to carve out more variants with versatile battery options to have a wider reach than what was announced at launch.

    Speaking of announcements at launch, BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack Two trim was strictly limited to a 59 kWh battery pack. This was changed recently based on customer feedback and Mahindra launched Pack Two with a larger 79 kWh battery pack. Now we can see new variants carved out of BE 6 and XEV 9e based on a similar strategy.
    As per the leaked documents, Mahindra has created more variants of Pack Three and Pack Three Select trim levels of BE 6 and XEV 9e. At launch, Pack Three Select trim of BE 6 and XEV 9e was strictly limited to a 59 kWh battery and the top-spec Pack Three of BE 6 and XEV 9e only got a larger 79 kWh battery pack.
    Where do they fit in?
    Now, BE 6 and XEV 9e will soon get Pack Three Select B79 (79 kWh battery) and Pack Three B59 (59 kWh battery) variants. This means, Pack Three Select trim will get an option for a larger 79 kWh battery pack which promises a range of up to 656 km and Pack Three trim will get an option for a smaller 59 kWh battery pack.

    These new variants will cater to buyers looking for more features than Pack Two B79 with a larger battery pack for range needs and buyers who don’t need all that range, but crave for all the bells and whistles BE 6 and XEV 9e offers. Showed as a concept vehicle in February 2023 on the stage with Bollywood actors Vicky Kaushal and Disha Patani, Mahindra BE Rall-E is likely to launch in the country with almost the same design as its concept. Let’s take a closer look.

    BE 6 has already emerged as the sportiest and the wildest mainstream electric SUV ever launched in India. But what’s wilder than an already wild BE 6, is BE Rall-E, which is a more rugged and off-road-y version. It was showcased as a concept in February 2023 and it has been spied testing multiple times, hinting at a possible launch.

    What we see, we like. That’s because it is not just a cosmetic nip-and-tuck job, but is a lot more comprehensive than that. BE Rall-E gets its own identity with a new fascia and single-piece LED eyebrow-like DRLs. Below these DRLs, we have circular LED projector headlights and what looks like a real bash plate, instead of a faux skid plate.

    Fortifying its off-road-y appearance, we have better approach angle and higher ground clearance on BE Rall-E than BE 6. Wheels on BE Rall-E are steelies which look like they could be 17-inchers and are wrapped with all-terrain tyres. The main unmistakable design distinction with BE Rall-E is the sturdy-looking roof-carrier that grabs a lot of attention as it screams lifestyle.

    These spy shots also show Mahindra BE Rall-E’s rear for the first time, which has different LED tail lights than BE 6. These LED signature mimics the eyebrow-like LED DRLs seen on the front, which is similar to what concept version had. As BE Rall-E is based on BE 6, it shares the same charging port which is located on rear left quarter panel.

    Will it get dual-motor AWD config?
    On the inside, BE Rall-E might carry forward the same interior as BE 6 and that is likely to be the case with its powertrains. But because Mahindra BE Rall-E is an off-road-y version, we hope it gets a dual-motor AWD setup that INGLO platform supports. So, more power and torque than already bonkers BE 6 is a possibility.

    When Mahindra BE Rall-E will launch, is not yet known. The company is yet to launch XUV3XO EV (XUV400 facelift), XEV 7e (electrified XUV700) and other vehicles. The company had put BE Rall-E in ‘Products’ section on their website and not ‘Concept’ section, suggesting that it could be in the pipeline.

    Poised to be India’s highest-selling electric SUV brand, Mahindra Auto has launched BE 6 and XEV 9e in the country. These have already emerged as popular choices, offering people a taste of RWD fun along with a plethora of safety, features and eye-candy design. Mahindra is now the third highest-selling electric car maker in India.
    However, Mahindra has only commenced the deliveries of the top-spec Pack Three trim. There could be a significant boost in sales and volume once the mid-spec and base-spec trims also start deliveries. Now, lower variants of Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e have been spied en route showrooms ahead of deliveries. Let’s take a closer look.
    Strategy to boost sales?
    Mahindra has recently revealed that more than 75% of the bookings come from the top-spec Pack Three trims. Also, the footfall into the showrooms has not been able to convert into bookings concerning lower trims. That is because Pack Two and Pack One display units have not yet reached dealerships.

    These recent developments might be the company’s measured strategy to line up display units of Pack Two variants in the showrooms as the deliveries are nearing. This will help boost bookings of lower trims and boost overall volume for Mahindra. The company is considering launching larger 79 kWh battery pack variants with lower trims as well.
    BE 6 and XEV 9e Lower Variants
    How does one identify a lower variant of BE 6 and XEV 9e? We ask this because Mahindra has kept the equipment list for lower trims quite generous. They get large wheels (18-inch with BE 6 and 19-inch with XEV 9e) with stylish wheel covers, premium finish on the cladding, LED lighting all around and the same dominating appearance as top-spec trims.
    These recent spy shots are credited to automotive enthusiast Rahul Bhosale who spotted them at Pune-Nashik highway. They show lower trims of XEV 9e and BE 6. One main giveaway is the pixel-painted Black roof option, which is only limited to Pack Three and Pack Three Select trims. Pack Two, Pack One Above and base Pack One do not get this design element.

    The XEV 9e and BE 6 units spied recently do not feature this Black roof option, which could only mean that they are from a trim level below Pack Three Select, in the hierarchy.     Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9eOne of India’s leading car manufacturers, Mahindra Auto, is charging (pun intended) into the country’s electric vehicle segment. Recently launched BE 6 and XEV 9e have yielded excellent results for the brand, but they can always achieve more. That’s probably the reason why Mahindra is considering expanding variant lineup of BE 6 and XEV 9e.
    These new variants will reportedly be based on lower trim levels of BE 6 and XEV 9e, but pack the larger 79 kWh battery pack that is currently only offered with the higher trim levels. That could change soon as the lower trims of BE 6 and XEV 9e might also get the option of the larger battery pack.

    As things stand, Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are offered in Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three trim levels. Deliveries of Pack Three have commenced, while bookings for all trim levels have been opened. Deliveries of Pack Three Select will start in June, Pack Two in July, Pack One Above and Pack One in August.
    Since deliveries began in March 2025, Mahindra has sold 6,300+ units of BE 6 and XEV 9e. As revealed by the company, more than 75% of total bookings are for the top-spec Pack Three trim. This may be because buyers who are smitten by BE 6 and XEV 9e know that only Pack Three deliveries have commenced.

    This lean in the bookings towards Pack Three could also be due to the fact that it is solely offered with the larger 79 kWh battery pack that promises up to 683 km or 500+ km in real world. A recent report reveals that customers have been asking for an extended range from larger 79 kWh battery pack in lower variants.
    New variants incoming?
    This shift in priority from features and creature comforts to driving range is really interesting. This might shift the perspectives for Mahindra which might consider launching a 79 kWh battery pack with lower trim levels to make a higher range accessible to a larger audience. This may also boost sales for the brand and position it as India’s best-selling EV brand, up from #3 position in April 2025.
    Since Pack Two and Pack One variants are not on display, it is proving rather tough to convert footfall into the showroom into bookings. This could change once deliveries of said trims start or display units start to reach showrooms. Once launched, 79 kWh battery variants of Pack One and Pack Two might bring more volumes for the brand than Pack Three is currently bringing.
