It is the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV. Ahead of commencement of deliveries, BE 6 Batman Edition has been spotted in Mumbai. Let’s check out the details.

    Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is fully sold out. Mahindra started with 300 units and later increased to 999 units based on heavy demand. Even then, all units were booked in just 135 seconds. Mahindra has stated that more such special editions of other SUVs could be launched in the future. Deliveries start on September 20th and ahead of that a BE 6 Batman Edition can be seen trundling down Mumbai roads in HAVOC VLOGS’ video.

    It will be even more exciting to watch the BE 6 Batman Edition gliding through deserted streets in the dead of night. As the matte-black bodywork blends with the surrounding darkness, the SUV’s sharp lighting elements will ensure a powerful presence. The large 20-inch alloy wheels further bring the experience closer to that of the Batmobile.

    Streaks of light in the environment will highlight special features such as the gold-painted suspension and brake callipers. Inspired by the Dark Knight Trilogy, the BE 6 Batman Edition also has the Bat emblem on the hub caps, front quarter panels, rear bumper, windows and rear windshield. The SUV has an Infinity Roof with The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem. Another key highlight is Carpet lamps with The Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem logo projection.

    Mahindra BE 6 has a race-inspired and gamified cockpit, which transforms into something more exciting with the special enhancements of the Batman Edition. There’s liberal use of golden accents such as the brushed gold halo around the driver cockpit and the brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition plaque on the dashboard with numbering. Similar golden treatment can also be seen on the steering wheel, in-touch controller, electronic parking brake and custom key fob.

    Dark Knight Trilogy Bat emblem logo can be seen on the Boost button, seat headrests, interior labels and seat stitching. There’s pinstripe graphic and Batman branding across the passenger dashboard panel. Also, race car inspired open straps with Batman Edition branding. Other highlights include charcoal leather instrument panel and suede and leather upholstery with gold sepia accent stitching.

    Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition is based on the top-spec Pack Three trim. It utilizes a 79-kWh battery pack, offering a certified range of 683 km (MIDC P1 + P2). The electric motor generates 210 kW / 285 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The SUV has an advanced regen system with 4 levels, which helps optimize range. BE 6 Pack Three can achieve full charge in 8 hours when using an 11.2 kW AC charger. With a DC 180 kW 400A charger input, 20% to 80% can be achieved in just 20 minutes.

      Where pricing is concerned, Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition costs Rs 27.79 lakh (Ex-sh). Batman Edition is based on the top-spec Pack Three trim level. Mahindra is offering BE 6 Batman Edition only with the larger 79 kWh battery pack. Bookings start 23rd August 2025 and deliveries are slated for 20th September 2025. Only 300 units will ever be made.
      On the outside, we get a custom Satin Black colourway with custom Batman decals. Then, we get elements like R20 alloy wheels with Batman motif, Alchemy Gold brake callipers and suspension components, LED projector headlights with cornering function, full-width and full-height LED DRL signature, flush pop-out style door handles, rear full-width connected LED tail light signature, funky spoiler and everything standard model comes equipped with.

      We can see Batman motif on front fenders where Mahindra would usually apply trim level decals and then the Batman motif is also on the panoramic glass roof ambient lighting, which looks absolutely marvelous. Even the welcome lights have Batman motif.

      Get into the Batmobile!
      On the inside, there is an all-Black theme going on, which is a lot more stealthier than it already was. All the headline features seen on the standard BE 6 make their way over here as well. We have the same dual 12.3-inch screens on the dashboard, one for infotainment and the other for instrumentation. On the centre console, there is a plaque saying the production number of Batman Edition which looks truly unique.
      Jet Fighter-like toggles on the roof, thruster-like gear selector, a floating center console that physically separates driver and passenger, illuminated key slot, dual D-Cut steering wheel, a large HUD, powered seats, ventilated front seats with memory function for driver, 1400W 16-speaker Harman/Kardon audio system, expansive ambient lighting, BYOD, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents and other features are carried over.

Priced at Rs 23.5 lakh (Ex-sh), BE 6 Pack Two B79 redefines value quotient to both ICE SUV buyers and Electric SUV buyers in the Rs 20 lakh to 25 lakh price bracket.

      This is a big deal as the Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (OTR) price bracket in India attracts around 10,000 units per month in sales. By tapping into this price bracket, Mahindra is shooting for higher volumes and greater EV penetration. With BE 6 Pack Two B79 variant, Mahindra is not only competing with rival eSUVs, but also ICE SUVs in this segment.

      That is because the larger B79 battery promises 500+ km real-world range with AC on, which is more than enough for most SUV owners for their driving needs. Bringing this higher range in the Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (OTR) price point is something unique to BE 6 and rivals don’t even come close.

      Owning an EV in India has its perks too. For starters, one can enjoy road tax benefits in 25+ states and UTs in India. One can save around Rs 5.5 lakh on total ownership costs for 90,000 km over a period of 5 years, when compared to a rival ICE SUV.

      BE 6 Pack Two starts from Rs 21.9 lakh (Ex-sh) and is almost as well-equipped as Pack Three, while costing Rs 3.4 lakh less (Ex-sh). The only way you can distinguish BE 6 Pack Two from Pack Three is the smaller LED DRL and tail light signature. On the outside, Pack Two variants offer R19 alloy wheels, illuminated logo, flush door handles, LED headlights and tail lights, fog lights with cornering function, panoramic Infinity glass roof, laminated door glass and more.

      On the inside, BE 6 Pack Two variants look and feel more or less the same as Pack Three. Same dual 12.3-inch infotainment and instrumentation system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are carried over. Even the fighter jet-like futuristic dashboard and centre console seen in Pack Three has been carried over in Pack Two.

Mahindra is offering 6 airbags, ESP, ABS, all-wheel disc brakes, brake-by-wire tech, brake booster, TPMS, front and rear parking sensors, parking camera, auto headlights, rain-sensing wipers and Level 2 ADAS with 1 radar and 1 vision camera, among others.

      Performance
      Where performance is concerned, rivals can’t hold a candle to Mahindra BE 6. It just is the most ferocious and the most sophisticated in India’s C SUV segment. BE 6 is the only RWD monocoque C SUV on sale in India, which unlocks the fun quotient for buyers. Pack Two B79 variant brings 282 bhp of peak power and 380 Nm of peak torque allowing for 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.2s and 202 km/h top speed.

      Not a single rival offers this level of performance in C SUV segment. With smaller 59 kWh battery pack, we get 228 bhp and 380 Nm, which is still higher than all of its C SUV rivals across ICE and EV realms.       Recently, Mahindra expanded the variant lineup of BE 6 and XEV 9e with Pack Two B79 variants, which outshined the competition with immense VFM quotient. Mahindra will further expand the variant lineup as suggested by recent homologation documents that have leaked on the internet. Let’s take a closer look.
      BE 6 and XEV 9e 4 New Variants
      After launching Pack Two B79 variants of BE 6 and XE 9e, Mahindra is applying a similar strategy to further expand the variant lineup. This time, Mahindra has turned its gaze towards Pack Three and Pack Three Select trim levels to carve out more variants with versatile battery options to have a wider reach than what was announced at launch.

This was changed recently based on customer feedback and Mahindra launched Pack Two with a larger 79 kWh battery pack. Now we can see new variants carved out of BE 6 and XEV 9e based on a similar strategy.
      As per the leaked documents, Mahindra has created more variants of Pack Three and Pack Three Select trim levels of BE 6 and XEV 9e. At launch, Pack Three Select trim of BE 6 and XEV 9e was strictly limited to a 59 kWh battery and the top-spec Pack Three of BE 6 and XEV 9e only got a larger 79 kWh battery pack.
      Where do they fit in?
      Now, BE 6 and XEV 9e will soon get Pack Three Select B79 (79 kWh battery) and Pack Three B59 (59 kWh battery) variants. This means, Pack Three Select trim will get an option for a larger 79 kWh battery pack which promises a range of up to 656 km and Pack Three trim will get an option for a smaller 59 kWh battery pack.

      These new variants will cater to buyers looking for more features than Pack Two B79 with a larger battery pack for range needs and buyers who don’t need all that range, but crave for all the bells and whistles BE 6 and XEV 9e offers.       BE 6 has already emerged as the sportiest and the wildest mainstream electric SUV ever launched in India. But what’s wilder than an already wild BE 6, is BE Rall-E, which is a more rugged and off-road-y version. It was showcased as a concept in February 2023 and it has been spied testing multiple times, hinting at a possible launch.

      What we see, we like. That’s because it is not just a cosmetic nip-and-tuck job, but is a lot more comprehensive than that. BE Rall-E gets its own identity with a new fascia and single-piece LED eyebrow-like DRLs. Below these DRLs, we have circular LED projector headlights and what looks like a real bash plate, instead of a faux skid plate.

      Fortifying its off-road-y appearance, we have better approach angle and higher ground clearance on BE Rall-E than BE 6. Wheels on BE Rall-E are steelies which look like they could be 17-inchers and are wrapped with all-terrain tyres. The main unmistakable design distinction with BE Rall-E is the sturdy-looking roof-carrier that grabs a lot of attention as it screams lifestyle.

      These spy shots also show Mahindra BE Rall-E’s rear for the first time, which has different LED tail lights than BE 6. These LED signature mimics the eyebrow-like LED DRLs seen on the front, which is similar to what concept version had. As BE Rall-E is based on BE 6, it shares the same charging port which is located on rear left quarter panel.

      Will it get dual-motor AWD config?
      On the inside, BE Rall-E might carry forward the same interior as BE 6 and that is likely to be the case with its powertrains. But because Mahindra BE Rall-E is an off-road-y version, we hope it gets a dual-motor AWD setup that INGLO platform supports. So, more power and torque than already bonkers BE 6 is a possibility.

      When Mahindra BE Rall-E will launch, is not yet known. The company is yet to launch XUV3XO EV (XUV400 facelift), XEV 7e (electrified XUV700) and other vehicles. The company had put BE Rall-E in ‘Products’ section on their website and not ‘Concept’ section, suggesting that it could be in the pipeline.

      Poised to be India’s highest-selling electric SUV brand, Mahindra Auto has launched BE 6 and XEV 9e in the country. These have already emerged as popular choices, offering people a taste of RWD fun along with a plethora of safety, features and eye-candy design. Mahindra is now the third highest-selling electric car maker in India.
      However, Mahindra has only commenced the deliveries of the top-spec Pack Three trim. There could be a significant boost in sales and volume once the mid-spec and base-spec trims also start deliveries. Now, lower variants of Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e have been spied en route showrooms ahead of deliveries. Let’s take a closer look.
      Strategy to boost sales?
      Mahindra has recently revealed that more than 75% of the bookings come from the top-spec Pack Three trims. Also, the footfall into the showrooms has not been able to convert into bookings concerning lower trims. That is because Pack Two and Pack One display units have not yet reached dealerships.

      These recent developments might be the company’s measured strategy to line up display units of Pack Two variants in the showrooms as the deliveries are nearing. This will help boost bookings of lower trims and boost overall volume for Mahindra. The company is considering launching larger 79 kWh battery pack variants with lower trims as well.
      BE 6 and XEV 9e Lower Variants
      How does one identify a lower variant of BE 6 and XEV 9e? We ask this because Mahindra has kept the equipment list for lower trims quite generous. They get large wheels (18-inch with BE 6 and 19-inch with XEV 9e) with stylish wheel covers, premium finish on the cladding, LED lighting all around and the same dominating appearance as top-spec trims.
      These recent spy shots are credited to automotive enthusiast Rahul Bhosale who spotted them at Pune-Nashik highway. They show lower trims of XEV 9e and BE 6. One main giveaway is the pixel-painted Black roof option, which is only limited to Pack Three and Pack Three Select trims. Pack Two, Pack One Above and base Pack One do not get this design element.

Recently launched BE 6 and XEV 9e have yielded excellent results for the brand, but they can always achieve more. That’s probably the reason why Mahindra is considering expanding variant lineup of BE 6 and XEV 9e.
      These new variants will reportedly be based on lower trim levels of BE 6 and XEV 9e, but pack the larger 79 kWh battery pack that is currently only offered with the higher trim levels. That could change soon as the lower trims of BE 6 and XEV 9e might also get the option of the larger battery pack.

      As things stand, Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e are offered in Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three trim levels. Deliveries of Pack Three have commenced, while bookings for all trim levels have been opened. Deliveries of Pack Three Select will start in June, Pack Two in July, Pack One Above and Pack One in August.
      Since deliveries began in March 2025, Mahindra has sold 6,300+ units of BE 6 and XEV 9e. As revealed by the company, more than 75% of total bookings are for the top-spec Pack Three trim. This may be because buyers who are smitten by BE 6 and XEV 9e know that only Pack Three deliveries have commenced.

      This lean in the bookings towards Pack Three could also be due to the fact that it is solely offered with the larger 79 kWh battery pack that promises up to 683 km or 500+ km in real world. A recent report reveals that customers have been asking for an extended range from larger 79 kWh battery pack in lower variants.
      New variants incoming?
      This shift in priority from features and creature comforts to driving range is really interesting. This might shift the perspectives for Mahindra which might consider launching a 79 kWh battery pack with lower trim levels to make a higher range accessible to a larger audience. This may also boost sales for the brand and position it as India’s best-selling EV brand, up from #3 position in April 2025.
      Since Pack Two and Pack One variants are not on display, it is proving rather tough to convert footfall into the showroom into bookings. This could change once deliveries of said trims start or display units start to reach showrooms. Once launched, 79 kWh battery variants of Pack One and Pack Two might bring more volumes for the brand than Pack Three is currently bringing.
