      New KTM RC 200 Arrives At Dealer Showroom – First Look Walkaround

      New chassis, performance upgrades and enhanced safety equipment are a part of the updates seen on the new gen KTM RC 200
      Earlier this week, KTM India launched the new gen RC125 and RC200. These are priced from Rs 1.82 lakh and Rs 2.09 lakh respectively. In comparison, the older gen RC 125 was priced at Rs 1.8 lakh and the RC 200 was priced at Rs 2.08 lakh. All prices are ex-sh. In the next few days, KTM India is expected to launch the new gen RC 390. Bookings are already open at dealer showrooms.
      New KTM RC 200 – First Look Walkaround
      RC 200 boasts of new LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights and integrated indicators. It also sports a new two piece front fender providing protection to both radiator and engine, foldable mirrors for a broader visual range, improved aerodynamics, clip on handlebars and two dual tone colour options of Black with Orange highlight and White with Orange highlight.
      KTM RC 200 receives a new LCD instrument console that is also seen on the KTM 250 Adventure. This console sports a blue backlit as against the orange backlit digital console seen on the earlier model.
      2021 KTM RC 200 gets a new ultra lightweight framework reducing kerb weight by 1.5 kgs over its earlier counterpart. The trellis frame and bolt on sub-frame allows for higher speed stability and increased rider confidence. New KTM RC 200 has started to arrive at dealer showrooms, as can be seen in the first look walkaround video shared by Rolling Peace.

      New KTM RC 200 – Engine Specs
      Just like the new gen RC 125, the new RC 200 also uses the same engine from before. It is powered by a 199.5 cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder engine. It has been tweaked to deliver better performance, acceleration and cooling.
      The engine is capable of 25.8 hp power and 19.5 Nm torque. It gets carbon coated cam levers for lower friction but added power. The piston is cooled using a nozzle that sprays on the head relating to longer life and smoother acceleration. KTM has also added a 40 percent bigger airbox to the new gen RC 200 that offers a crisper throttle response.
      The bike now sports a 320mm disc brake in the front and 230mm disc brake at the rear. Overall weight has been reduced due to a lighter chassis which is now 1.5 kgs lighter and 5 spoke alloy wheels that are 3.4 kgs lighter.
      However, despite lighter weight, the wheels are capable of quicker turn in track environment and better durability under street ride conditions. Weight reduction is also seen in the case of new brakes are also of lower in weight by 960 gms. The 2021 KTM RC 200 now weighs 151 kgs (dry). Deliveries of the new KTM RC range are to commence soon.       New KTM RC125, RC200 Detailed Before Launch – Orange, White, Black Colours

      2022 KTM RC125 and RC200KTM is all set to upgrade their RC lineup to new generation – Ahead of official debut, the photos of new gen RC125, RC200 and RC390 have leaked online
      New generation KTM RC390 got leaked yesterday. Now, the remaining two motorcycles in the RC range – RC125 and RC200 have also leaked. Once again, credit to Yadu Krishnan.
      All three RC motorcycles are expected to make debut this month. Unofficial bookings have already opened at select dealers. Apart from new design and colours, the new gen KTM RC range is expected to offer better riding performance.
      Refreshed Chassis, Redesigned Headlamp
      2022 KTM RC125 and RC200 will sit on a new chassis with a bolt on sub-frame. These will receive larger fairings and new body panels as compared to their outgoing counterparts. The two bikes will also see feature changes in the form of re-designed headlamp, new alloy wheels and a taller windscreen along with stepped up seating and muscular fuel tanks.
      While the RC125, RC200 gets a halogen headlamp and LED tail lamp, the RC390 is set apart with full LED lighting at the front and rear. As per the leaked photos, the RC200 gets digital instrument cluster, as seen in the new RC390. It is not clear if the RC125 also gets the same. Another question to ask is will India-spec RC range get the same, or not.
      New KTM RC200
      Other notable change is lower set handlebars, which offer the rider a more relaxed position while riding. Foot pegs are also rearranged for a more ergonomic riding triangle. 2022 RC125 colour options include Black with Orange highlight and White with Orange highlight. 2022 RC200 colours include White / Orange and Black / Orange. The Blue / Orange shade seems to be limited to the RC390 only.
      2022 KTM RC125 gets side mounted exhaust while RC200 is seen with under-belly exhaust. Safety of the riders are also enhanced with the 2021 KTM RC125 and RC200 receiving disc brakes on front and rear wheels. It also gets dual channel ABS for better braking performance. The bikes will see suspension duties handled by inverted forks in the front and mono-shock unit at the rear.
      BS6 Compliant Engine Lineup
      The new 2022 KTM RC200 will be powered by the same engine as current RC200. This will include a 199.5cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 24.6 hp power and 19.2 Nm torque. RC125 gets 124.7cc single cylinder unit generating 14.5 hp and 12 Nm torque. The RC390 will receive a 373.3cc, single cylinder engine generating 43 hp power and 36 Nm torque. Transmission on all three is via 6 speed gearbox.
      KTM RC125 is currently priced at 1.8 lakh, ex-sh. RC200 costs 2.08 lakh and RC390 costs 2.77 lakh. All prices are ex-sh. With the new generation update, expect the introductory prices of KTM RC series to be in the similar range. But they will soon be increased in the coming months post launch.       KTM RC 200 Modified With Custom Kit, New Colour – For Rs 52k

      KTM RC 200 ModifiedKTM is currently looking to overhaul its current generation lineup with next-gen models including a new-gen RC 200
      KTM is one of the most sought-after motorcycle brands in the aftermarket industry in India. The robust structure of the bikes gives tonnes of options to customisers to play with. We have another case of an RC 200 being modified into a custom bike which has been built for the purpose of taking it to the race tracks.
      The images are credited to biking enthusiast Adarsh Suresh and this particular MY2019 RC 200 is his personal possession. This custom motorcycle gets a complete styling overhaul by replacing the stock body panels with aftermarket panels. These aftermarket units have been sourced from Autologue Design, a customisation workshop based out of Pune.
      Modified Design
      The entire front fairing has been replaced by aftermarket fairing panels which are lighter and more aerodynamically enhanced. Front end of the bike wears an aftermarket wind visor which is larger than the stock unit.
      The stock dual-pod headlamp setup has been carried forward in the custom motorcycle. It gets a completely revised tail section with a rounded cowl and could now accommodate a single-seater saddle which can only accommodate a rider.
      KTM RC 200 Modified
      Like the stock RC 200, this modified bike also gets an underbelly exhaust. Even the front fender is attached to the front suspension forks. The underbelly engine used in this custom unit looks different and more sporty than the regular unit.
      The overall bike feels more sporty and aggressive thanks to aftermarket livery and body decals. The dual-tone colour scheme of red and grey is unique and would surely stand apart in a crowd.
      The exposed rear frame, subframe and alloys have been painted in black and not traditional KTM orange which goes well with the modified theme of the faired sports bike. Minor changes might have been done to its swingarm as well as its handlebar. Kit cost is Rs 35k (including KTM powerpart visor). Painting and graphics cost is Rs 17k. Total cost is Rs 52k.

      Mechanical Specs & Features
      This means, mechanically this bike is identical to the stock RC 200 and with no change in configurations. The trellis frame sits on inverted forks up front and a mono-shock at rear. On the other hand, braking duties are handled by single disc brakes at both ends assisted by a dual-channel ABS as standard.
      The entry-level superbike is propelled by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which pumps out 25.4 bhp and a peak torque of 19.5 Nm. This unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.       The next generation KTM RC family of compact fully faired sportsbikes have been in the news for quite sometime now. The RC 125, 200 and 390 are much older than their Duke siblings but that is going to chance soon.
      A camouflaged prototype of what appears to be either 2021 KTM RC 200 or 125 has been spied testing in India for the first time. Images are credit to Wheel Tronicz on Instagram.

      We think this prototype is either an RC 200 or 125 because the RC 390 prototypes which were spotted testing in Europe featured a conventional side slung exhaust canister to meet the stringent emission norms. This particular mule continues to employ underbelly exhaust indicating that a smaller displacement motor does not need larger catalytic converter and hence can manage with an underbelly unit.
      As with the new KTM RC 390, the smaller engined siblings will feature a completely overhauled styling. The new headlamp is in-line with the brand’s new design identity and the fairing around it has a slightly larger surface area than before.

      On the sides, the panels are more revealing than before. For example, the current motorcycle hides the base of the crank case but the upcoming model makes no attempt at concealing it.
      The bodywork is sharper than before but there is an awkward gap between the steering mount and the instrument console which may take a bit of getting used too. Another important change is the rear sub-frame but the tailpiece appears to be retained without significant styling changes. KTM has reportedly worked on making the 2021 RC family more comfortable for taller riders, so expect considerable change in ergonomics.
      Specifications at a glance
      The New Gen KTM RC 200, or the 125 and 390 for that matter, is likely to retain the engine without any change. In case of the RC 200, the existing 199.5 cc liquid-cooled mill dishes out a healthy 25 hp and 19.2 Nm of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed unit. Despite no changes, the motor will still be the most powerful unit in its segment.

      The trellis frame will continue to employ WP inverted telescopic front fork and rear monoshock suspension system. The 2021 KTM RC 200 and its brethren adopt new front disc brake whose rotor is mounted to the spokes rather than the wheel hub. The India-spec RC 200 is expected to carry forward a single-channel ABS to keep the costs in check while the export-spec variant is likely to offer dual-channel system as a standard fitment.
      The 2021 KTM RC 200, 390 and 125 will be made in India at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan facility for global consumption. India is expected to be the launch market for the new generation family of compact sportsbikes. Launch is expected sometime later this year. More

      KTM RC 200 modified by owner in Kerala – Gets styling upgrade, new colour

      The modified KTM RC 200 also sports some styling upgrades from Pune-based Autologue Design
      KTM India updated its entire single-cylinder line-up to BS6 specifications earlier this year, in addition to launching the all-new 390 Adventure dual-sport motorcycle. The Austrian-origin automaker primarily has three model lines: Duke, RC and Adventure. While the naked-sports Duke is available in 125, 200, 250 and 390 formats, the faired-sports RC range lacks a ‘250’ version (although it is assembled in India for export markets). The KTM RC 200 is arguably the most popular choice among them.

      In BS6 format, the KTM RC 200 (as well as other KTM ‘200’ models) gets new choices of colour and graphics. Prices start at Rs 1.97 lakh ex-showroom. It is powered by a 199.5cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine making 24.65bhp @ 10,000rpm and 19.2Nm @ 8,000rpm. This is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
      Thanks to its different styling approach and impressive performance (for a 200cc single), the KTM RC 200 is a hit among young buyers. While some build capable track machines over it, many others personalise its aesthetics using aftermarket parts and unique paint/wrap schemes (oftentimes tastelessly). In a sea of weirdly-customised examples, this particular RC 200 from Kerala stands apart in a good way.

      The owner (the_demonspeed on Instagram) has opted a gloss metallic blue/white combo against a gloss-black theme. Orange details are kept to a minimum, unlike its stock avatar. As the images suggest, the wrap was done at a detailing centre called Zed One. The motorcycle also wears some custom components from Pune-based Autologue Design.
      Combined with an extended visor, number plate delete (cannot remain like that on the road) and decals, the KTM RC 200 (BS4 version) looks good in the pictures. However, the single-seat configuration, without an actual seat or cushioning, might compromise on practicality or at least daily useability. Even MotoGP bikes that sport the most committed riding position have some form of cushioning.
      Mechanically, it remains the same. The BS4-compliant ~200cc engine generates almost identical figures as its newer BS6 counterpart. KTM AG has been working on an all-new RC generation for quite some time. The only images of it are those of early test mules or prototypes with temporary body panels.

      Rumours suggest that KTM will debut its next-gen single-cylinder faired sportbike at EICMA 2021. Meanwhile, both EICMA 2020 and INTERMOT 2020, two of the biggest motorcycle shows in the world, were cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. More
