    2022 KTM RC 125 Specs Leak – More Power, Less Weight, 13.7 L Tank

    2022 KTM RC 125KTM will soon launch the new-gen RC range of supersport motorcycles in India and across the world
    KTM is in the process of updating almost its entire lineup. The lineup overhaul is expected to begin with the RC range of models including RC 125, RC 200, RC 390. Recently, all three new generation models made a brief appearance at the official website of KTM but were removed soon afterwards.
    Apart from photos, official specs of the 2022 RC125 have also been leaked. Hat tip to Yadu Krishnan for sharing the same. The new-gen RC models will feature a long list of updates. The most prominent updates are centred around their design which feature some serious upgrades.
    2022 KTM RC 125
    Updated Design
    Speaking of design, all three upcoming 2022 KTM RC bikes share a lot in common as far as styling is concerned. The new-gen supersport motorcycles have made a departure from the twin-beam headlights and now feature a single-piece headlight flanked by trendy boomerang-shaped LED DRLs on both sides which double up as turn indicators. All three models receive a completely redesigned front end including larger fairings and new body panels as compared to their outgoing counterparts.
    Also, the 10-spoke alloy wheels have made way for a new 5-spoke design. KTM says that these new alloy design helps in saving 3.4 kgs of rotating unsprung mass. Other common styling elements include a muscular fuel tank, which is now larger in size at 13.7 liters.

    However, there are some design attributes that distinguish RC 390 from RC 125 and RC 200. For instance, RC 200 continues to feature an underbelly exhaust just like the current gen. RC 125 and RC 390 get side mounted exhaust, but they are not same.
    In addition, all three models feature distinct colour options. The new RC 390 wears an orange-blue paint scheme inspired by KTM’s MotoGP race bike. RC 125 and RC 200 gets a new dual-tone white and orange colour with signature orange alloy wheels. RC 125 also gets the option of a new dual-tone black/orange scheme.
    Mechanical Updates
    All three models have also undergone structural changes which make them more similar to each other. The new-gen RC range of models features an updated chassis comprising a new bolt-on rear subframe instead of a welded-on design of current models. The weight reduction due to new frame is 1.5 kgs, compared to current RC gen.
    2022 KTM RC 125 Alloys
    Suspension duties are handled by USD forks at front and a mono-shock unit at rear embraced by an alloy swingarm. These are factory tuned to deliver better track performance. Cooling system has also been improved, thanks to larger airbox – resulting in ultra-slick throttle response.
    Engine Specs
    Engine of the motorcycles will be carried over from the current =-gen models. RC 390 will be powered by a 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that dishes out 44 bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. RC 200 will be propelled by the same 199.5cc liquid-cooled mill that pushes out 25 hp and 19.2 Nm of torque.
    The entry-level RC 125 will feature a 124.7cc single-cylinder unit capable of 14.5 bhp and 12 Nm of peak torque. New specs are not yet available, but the official website leak states that the engines will deliver more power and torque. All motorcycles will be offered with a 6-speed transmission.     New KTM RC125, RC200 Detailed Before Launch – Orange, White, Black Colours

    New generation KTM RC390 got leaked yesterday. Now, the remaining two motorcycles in the RC range – RC125 and RC200 have also leaked. Once again, credit to Yadu Krishnan.
    All three RC motorcycles are expected to make debut this month. Unofficial bookings have already opened at select dealers. Apart from new design and colours, the new gen KTM RC range is expected to offer better riding performance.
    Refreshed Chassis, Redesigned Headlamp
    2022 KTM RC125 and RC200 will sit on a new chassis with a bolt on sub-frame. These will receive larger fairings and new body panels as compared to their outgoing counterparts. The two bikes will also see feature changes in the form of re-designed headlamp, new alloy wheels and a taller windscreen along with stepped up seating and muscular fuel tanks.
    While the RC125, RC200 gets a halogen headlamp and LED tail lamp, the RC390 is set apart with full LED lighting at the front and rear. As per the leaked photos, the RC200 gets digital instrument cluster, as seen in the new RC390. It is not clear if the RC125 also gets the same. Another question to ask is will India-spec RC range get the same, or not.
    New KTM RC200
    Other notable change is lower set handlebars, which offer the rider a more relaxed position while riding. Foot pegs are also rearranged for a more ergonomic riding triangle. 2022 RC125 colour options include Black with Orange highlight and White with Orange highlight. 2022 RC200 colours include White / Orange and Black / Orange. The Blue / Orange shade seems to be limited to the RC390 only.
    2022 KTM RC125 gets side mounted exhaust while RC200 is seen with under-belly exhaust. Safety of the riders are also enhanced with the 2021 KTM RC125 and RC200 receiving disc brakes on front and rear wheels. It also gets dual channel ABS for better braking performance. The bikes will see suspension duties handled by inverted forks in the front and mono-shock unit at the rear.
    BS6 Compliant Engine Lineup
    The new 2022 KTM RC200 will be powered by the same engine as current RC200. This will include a 199.5cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offering 24.6 hp power and 19.2 Nm torque. RC125 gets 124.7cc single cylinder unit generating 14.5 hp and 12 Nm torque. The RC390 will receive a 373.3cc, single cylinder engine generating 43 hp power and 36 Nm torque. Transmission on all three is via 6 speed gearbox.
    KTM RC125 is currently priced at 1.8 lakh, ex-sh. RC200 costs 2.08 lakh and RC390 costs 2.77 lakh. All prices are ex-sh. With the new generation update, expect the introductory prices of KTM RC series to be in the similar range. But they will soon be increased in the coming months post launch.     2021 KTM RC 125 Side View Spied – Pillion Seat Higher Than R15 V3?

    KTM had commenced trial production of the next generation RC 200 at the end of last year. We expected the updated faired motorcycle to make its debut by the first quarter of this year. However, there are no signs of the motorcycle as of now.
    Although, on a couple of instances, the new RC 200 has been spotted testing on Indian roads in recent months which suggests that the motorcycle is still in its developmental phase. Another set of spy shots of the upcoming faired sports bike has emerged online where a test mule is seen conducting pre-launch tests.
    RC 200 Revised Styling
    Even though the prototype was wrapped under heavy camouflage, we could notice certain design aspects which had been taken over from RC 390. One thing is for sure, that the upcoming RC range will wear a completely different top hot compared to its predecessor.
    The biggest variation noticed is the single-piece headlamp as opposed to a twin-pod headlamp cluster. The halogen unit is flanked by a similar LED DRL strip on its borders. In addition, it also gets a taller windscreen and new LED turn indicators which are integrated onto the wing mirrors.

    The revised windscreen has been designed not only to provide better protection from the wind but also to enhance its aerodynamic properties. The new split seating setup is certainly not as attractive as the previous model but looks more convenient and hopefully more convenient.
    The spy shots indicate a more compliant riding position which includes handlebars fitted closer to the rider and center set footpegs that offer an upright riding stance. Other notable changes witnessed are redesigned 5-spoke alloy wheels finished in Electric Orange, slimmer fairing and proper split grab rails. Pillion seat has been raised significantly.
    New Features
    In addition to all the updates mentioned above, the upcoming RC 125 / 200 also gets a new underbelly exhaust setup and a new rear subframe. Previous spy pics also revealed that the bike will get new body graphics and decals that will accentuate its sporty appeal. The latest spy pics also reveal a new and larger TFT digital instrument console which is expected to feature smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.

    RC 200 Updated Design
    Not only RC 200 but the Austrian bikemaker is looking to completely overhaul its entire RC lineup in India including RS 125 and RC 390. Latest spy shots of RC 390 also suggest a completely revamped design. The new generation faired sports bike also features a heavily redesigned front end with dual projector headlamps being replaced by a single headlamp unit. However, unlike its smaller sibling, it gets a full LED lighting setup.
    Like RC 200, front fairing of RC 390 also looks revised which gives it a sharper look and improved aerodynamic efficiency. The shape of the fuel tank has been altered too which also seems to have improved rider ergonomics. The split seat setup of RC 390 is uncannily similar to its smaller sibling although the pillion seat still looks very inaccessible for its height. RC 125, on the other hand, is likely to wear a similar look to RC 200 which would feature a compact fairing.

    Updated RC Lineup Powertrain
    As far as performance is concerned, all three motorcycles are expected to carry forward their respective powertrains. RC 125 will be powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which pushes out 14.5 bhp and 12 Nm of peak torque. RC 200 will draw its power from a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that pumps out 24.6 bhp and 19.2 Nm of torque.
    And finally, RC 390 would derive its energy from the same 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that churns out 44 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. While RC 125’s motor is likely to be paired with a 5-speed transmission, the other two are expected to be offered with a 6-speed gearbox. All three bikes will be built on a Trellis frame suspended on USD WP forks at front and a mono-shock unit at rear. More
