That’s a premium of Rs 1,500 in comparison to standard Shine drum variant that is priced at Rs 77,378.With Shine Celebration Edition, Honda will be looking to leverage positive consumer sentiments generally seen during festive season. Shine is already a bestseller and consistently ranks among top 10 two-wheelers in the country. In July, it was in third place, trailing behind Hero Splendor and Activa.Honda Shine Celebration Edition featuresHonda Shine Celebration Edition gets two new colour options – Matte Steel Black Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic. The special edition bike also gets a new golden theme. While the graphics have the same layout, they are done in a striking golden shade.New Honda Shine Celebration EditionThe golden theme extends to other components such as the golden wingmark emblem, Shine logo on tail section and celebration edition logo on the tank top. The headlamp cowl and side panels also get golden garnish.Among the two new colour options, the golden theme stands out with the Matte Sangria Red Metallic. The overall look and feel is more agreeable on this one, as compared to Matte Steel Black Metallic colour option. This is especially true, taking into account the brown colour seat.If the seat had the standard black shade, the Matte Steel Black Metallic colour option would have worked better with the golden theme. Users looking for a sprightly colour option are most likely to go with the Matte Sangria Red Metallic shade.New Honda Shine Celebration EditionAnother update is matte axis grey metallic muffler cover, which complements the golden theme of Shine Celebration Edition. In the standard model, the muffler cover comes in glossy chrome finish. Honda Price Hike Aug 2022 – Activa, Dio, CB200X, Unicorn, CB350

Honda India has hiked the prices for all of its models offered in India and CB200X got the most hike at Rs. 17,340Image – Motovin77Honda India already has a reputation for being overpriced and with the new price hike, that reputation is now amplified. We get that manufacturers have to pass on some of the incurred costs to customers. We say this because production costs and input costs have been on the rise and price hikes are evident. But of all manufacturers, when Honda does it, it feels a little overwhelming because Honda products are generally overpriced, to begin with. It seems that Honda could have absorbed the rising input costs a little more. We say this because CB200X that is not a good-seeling bike, got a ridiculous price hike of Rs. 17,340. Let’s take a look.Honda Price Hike August 2022Starting with CB200X which got a ridiculous and atrocious Rs. 17,340 at 13.32% price hike, we don’t understand why Honda did this. Because CB200X is a wannabe ADV that is just a slight extension of Hornet 2.0 with a 2V head. For around Rs. 22,000 less one can buy an XPulse 200 2V and for Rs. 11,000 less, one can buy XPulse 200 4V which are proper off-roaders that punch way above their displacements.Next highest price hike is CB350 DLX at Rs. 11,679 and CB350 at Rs. 10,679 standing at 6.26% and 5.55% increment. Next comes X-Blade, Unicorn 160 and Hornet 2.0. They get around Rs. 7,000 to 8,000 hike ranging from 5.52% on Hornet 2.0 and going till 8.32% increment on the high-capacity commuter Unicorn 160.Honda Scooters Price Hike Aug 2022Grazia premium 125cc scooter gets Rs. 6,396 price increment for both drum brake and as well as disc brake variants. Grazia 125’s price hike amounts to 7.79% to 8.55% increment than prices in July 2022. After Grazia, Dio seems to be next with Rs. 5,588 for Dio STD and Rs. 5,690 for Dio Deluxe accounting for around an 8.75% increment.  Even though Activa 6G gets the exact same powertrain, components, electricals and most things, it only gets hike of Rs. 968 for STD and Rs. 1,223 for Deluxe variants. This accounts for around 1.5% increment only while Dio incurred 8.75%. Is this because Activa is extremely popular and hiking its price too much will create a dent in sales? Maybe.Least Hike & New PricingComing to the bottom end of the price hike spectrum, we have the Activa 125 series that got Rs. 1,036 to Rs. 1,127 and accounts for 1.26% to 1.50% increment. All of the budget commuters from CD110 Dream to SP125, get around Rs. 1,070 price hike accounting to 1.26% to 1.54% increment.Honda Motorcycles Price Hike Aug 2022With the new pricing, Dio now starts from Rs. 67,817, Activa 6G from Rs. 72,400, Activa 125 from Rs. 76,025 and Grazia from Rs. 81,211. Honda’s budget commuter series now starts from Rs. 70,315 for CD110 Dream and goes till Rs. 86,486 for SP125 Disc.Unicorn 160 now crosses the 1 lakh mark at Rs. 1,03,706 while X-Blade starts at Rs. 1,15,614. Hornet 2.0 now costs Rs. 1,35,274 and CB200X Rs. 1,47,535. Honda’s Big Wing exclusive CB350 series now starts at Rs. 1,98,179. All the prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi. More

It has been launched at a starting price of Rs 75,400, which is exactly Rs 1k costlier than top-spec Activa DLX variant. Base-spec Activa 6G Standard variant price starts at Rs 72,400 (ex-sh, Delhi). With Activa Premium Edition, Honda will be looking to target the younger generation.Hardware specs and features of Activa Premium edition will be the same as Activa DLX variant. Performance upgrades are not needed, as Activa is already popular for its peppy performance. The core idea of new variant is primarily to explore opportunities beyond the strong familial appeal of Activa.Honda Activa Premium featuresActiva Premium has been spruced up to make it a true-blue head turner on the streets. It is in-line with tastes and preferences of the younger generation. One of the key features is golden coloured wheels, which ensure a premium look and feel for the scooter. At the front, Activa Premium gets gold coated chrome garnish on the turn indicator housing. Honda logo at the front also has the same shade.Side profile has been enhanced with ‘Activa Premium’ logo in golden finish. The scooter also gets a brown colour inner body and matching seat cover. These cosmetic updates work to ensure a more vibrant profile for the scooter. In case of standard Activa model, inner body and seat cover have the conventional black shade.Honda Activa Premium Edition LaunchedActiva Premium is available in three new colour options of Mat Marshal Green Metallic, Mat Sangria Red Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue. These work to enhance personalization options available to users. All three colours appear to create an exciting contrast with the golden highlights and brown inner body and seat cover.Honda Activa Premium Edition SpecsSome may call it a bit gaudy, but one thing is certain that Activa Premium will be hard to miss on the streets. Standard Activa has relatively sober colour options such as Decent Blue, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Magnificent Copper Metallic, Black, Pearl Precious White and Rebel Red Metallic.Activa Premium specsWhile it has a snazzy profile, Honda Activa Premium edition does not get any performance boost or new features. Activa is powered by a 109.51 cc fan cooled motor that generates 7.80 PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and 8.84 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.Honda Activa Prices Aug 2022It has an under-bone frame, with telescopic front and 3-step adjustable spring loaded rear suspension. Braking duties are performed by 130 mm drum brakes at both ends. Activa has 12-inch front wheel shod with 90/90 tyre and 10-inch rear wheel with 90/100 tyre. Some key features available with Activa include eSP technology, ACG starter motor for silent starts, programmed fuel injection, engine start stop switch and LED DC headlamp. Other highlights include external fuel fill cap, large instrument console and ample underseat storage. As compared to its predecessor, the current Activa 6G model delivers 10% more mileage. More

New Honda Activa Premium Edition Scooter Teased – Launch Soon

Honda Activa 6G was launched in 2020 and was the torch bearer for BS6 engines on Activa seriesNew Honda Activa Premium Edition ScooterHonda India has a massive pull on scooter segment in India. Activa brand is so popular that it is synonymous with scooters and is a default choice for most scooter buyers in India. There was a time when this spot was enjoyed by Bajaj. Scooter meant Bajaj. But today, when looking at sales charts, Activa absolutely annihilates the competition. So, how can Honda better a product that is already a force to reckon with? We could get a new generation of this legend. But it looks like Honda is just offering a limited edition Activa 6G.New Honda Activa Premium EditionHonda’s teasers for new Activa are still limited to exteriors though. None of them reveal the engine specs and actual changes this new scooter will bring to the table. Looking at the exterior of this new Activa that is teased by Honda, we are hard pressed to pinpoint what exactly the changes are. Because it looks identical to the Activa 6G.This raises the question if this is Activa 7G or Futuristic Activa Electric that was recently announced by Honda or just a limited edition of the already on sale Activa 6G. Going by Honda’s past records, there is a high possibility that it might be a limited edition version of the Activa 6G like Dio Sports limited edition that was recently launched.New Honda Activa Premium EditionActiva 3G was launched in Feb 2015, Activa 4G was launched in Feb 2017, Activa 5G was launched in March 2018 and Activa 6G was launched in Jan 2020. Seeing a pattern here? Honda has always launched new generations of Activa in Q1 of a fiscal year. So, chances of a new generation of Activa in Q3 of this fiscal year sound meek, doesn’t it?Also, the second teaser looked like it had a matte-finished green paint scheme and gold-coloured vents on its apron. This colour scheme was never on offer before. Right now, Activa 6G is offered in eight colours and doesn’t get a matte green shade. It gets Matte Mature Brown, Pearl Nightstar Black, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Magnificent Copper Metallic, Pearl precious White, Decent Blue, Red Rebel Metallic, and lastly, Black.Specs & PriceNew Honda Activa Premium Edition may get matt blue colour shade that was teased in the first teaser and a matte green shade too. Honda Activa 6G was the torch bearer for BS6 scooters and it is the best Activa to date, if you ask us. It gets a decently peppy 110cc motor making 7.68 bhp of power and 8.79 Nm of torque.More teasers from Honda in the coming days are very likely. In terms of pricing, limited editions might cost around Rs. 2,000 more than regular shades. It is also likely to get Standard and Deluxe variants too. Deluxe trim gets LED headlights and DRLs. It is likely to get alloy wheels on the limited edition Activa 6G Deluxe variant as we saw with Dio sports. This limited edition Activa 6G will be launched around the festive season. More

Bajaj Dominar 400 Vs New Honda CB300F Vs KTM Duke 250 – Specs, Prices

Honda’s CB300F displaces around 7.52cc more than CB300R but makes 7.3 bhp and 1.9 Nm lessNew Honda CB300F vs RivalsWe saw the Honda CB300F launch in India after a long tease from the company building up incredible hype. Motorcycling enthusiasts were expecting it to be the Forza 350 maxi scooter. But what we got was the CB300F which is sold exclusively from Honda Big Wing premium dealerships across India. But looking at the product, it does come off as a little uninspiring. Okay, very uninspiring. It looks like a generic motorcycle from Honda with a gold USD fork at its front. Honda India has stuck to the “Just Fit Fun Gear” concept philosophy while designing CB300F. If you think that it didn’t make any sense, ask Honda because that’s exactly their official statement.Even the presenter once mentioned it as CB300R in confusion. That’s exactly the theme with this launch, confusion. Especially with the Rs. 2.26 lakh (ex-sh). Honda CB300F is dubbed as an “Advanced Street Fighter”. So, let’s see how advanced it is when compared to bikes with similar pricing.Honda CB300F Vs Bajaj Dominar 400Dominar 400 is around Rs. 4,000 cheaper than CB300F and offers incredible bang for your buck. Dominar 400 gets mostly everything that CB300F offers and packs a fire-breathing 373 cc engine from KTM 390. Similarities between CB300F and Dominar 400 include, LED lighting, slipper clutch, 6-speed gearbox, 4V head, Dual-channel ABS, USD front forks, digital instrument cluster, 110/70-17 tyre at front, and a fat 150/60-17 tyre at the rear.Bajaj Dominar 400 Vs New Honda CB300F Vs KTM Duke 250CB300F gets Bluetooth connectivity with smartphone integration via an app and also traction control dubbed as Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC). But Dominar strikes back with triple spark plugs, a wide range of touring-friendly accessories and a highly performant and high-speed touring-worthy engine.Speaking of its engine, Dominar 400 makes 39.42 bhp at 8,800 RPM and 35 Nm at 6,500 RPM. Which is 15.62 bhp and almost 10 Nm more than CB300F. But where CB300F strikes back is weight. At 153 kg, it is 40 kg lighter than the thicc boi Dominar 400’s 193 kg. But owing to its power-cruiser genre, the weight and its long wheelbase offer it stability.Honda CB300F Vs KTM 250 DukeWell, if you think Dominar 400 is not a fair comparison because of its heft, we have KTM’s 250 Duke which is just Rs. 4,000 more expensive than CB300F which is just 16 kg heavier. It gets a 248.8 cc engine that makes 29.6 bhp at 9,000 RPM and 24 Nm at 7,500 RPM. Just like Dominar 400, 250 Duke and CB300F have LED lighting, slipper clutch, 6-speed gearbox, 4V head, Dual-channel ABS, USD front forks, digital instrument cluster, 110/70-17 tyre at front, and a fat 150/60-17 tyre at the rear as common.Bluetooth connectivity and app integration and traction control are not offered on 250 Duke which CB300F gets. Looking at bikes in the same price segment, we also have a lot of classic bikes from Royal Enfield, Jawa and Yezdi offering scramblers and also ADVs. But as bland as it may look, Honda still has the weight advantage. The proof of the pudding is in the taste. So, Honda might surprise us on road while it slightly disappoints on paper. Honda may have created something unique as KTM’s already light 200 Duke is 6 kg heavier than CB300F. We can only say for sure after getting our hands on it, of course. More

New Honda Electric Scooter Launch In 2023 – Futuristic Activa Confirmed

Honda is currently the leader in ICE scooter segment with Activa smashing sales records like clockworkImage for illustration purpose.Honda electric scooters were thought to be a distant possibility as Honda had mentioned before. The Japanese company had even started development of flex-fuel technology for low-cost Indian commuter motorcycle segment. Right now, Honda is the undisputed leader in ICE scooters in India. We were all under the impression that Honda would probably step its foot into electric scooter segment in 2025 or later. But, this is a big but, Honda has now revealed that they have considered electric scooters and will launch their product in early 2023. This decision was revealed by Atsushi Ogata, MD, President and CEO, HMSI.This decision was made right after the company launched a street fighter CB300F which we were all hoping to be a Forza 350 maxi-scooter. So, there is finally something good that followed the CB300F launch, huh? This is big news and let’s break it down.Honda Electric ScooterBeing a mainstream manufacturer like TVS and Bajaj, we can expect Honda’s electric scooters to be safe and impervious to EV fire hazards that some EV startups are prone to. Honda has already initiated a new vertical named Honda Power Pack Energy India. Its task is to locally produce swappable batteries for two and three-wheeled EVs in India.New Honda Activa 7G TeasedHonda conducted a thorough pilot study in 2021 at Thane, Maharashtra. It clocked 2,00,000 km and 7,000 battery swaps in total. Honda has partnered up with HPCL and Bengaluru Metro to establish swapping stations, starting from Bengaluru. It was expected to start operating in May of 2022. That might be the reason for Honda Benly e electric scooter that we spotted in India. For development of its first electric scooter, HMSI is formulating a team of engineers from Honda Motorcycles, Japan. Ogata also said that HMSI had been in touch with Honda Japan for six months where they already have expertise in electric scooters. Ogata also mentioned that HMSI is creating a “futuristic Activa” hinting that Honda’s maiden EV in India might have the name Activa in it. This is different from Activa 7G which was teased recently. It makes sense too. As Activa is already the de facto choice in scooters. A maiden EV with this legend’s name might make it a de facto choice in electric scooters. Millions of Indians already associate themselves with Activa brand. Like Bolero Neo, because TUV300 name was the drag. Okay, Mahindra has a weird naming strategy by using letters and numbers instead of words.Honda Activa Electric – What To Expect? For starters, Honda’s first EV might adopt the swappable battery tech mentioned above. This basically means that a user is not owning the battery and just renting it. So, the initial high costs that are associated with EVs might be negated this way. Hence drawing more and more people towards EVs.Familiarity seems to be Honda’s priority and hence the hints of a “Futuristic Activa”. It is likely to get the Activa name. Honda will also make sure that it has decent performance and range needn’t be very high as the battery can be swapped to a fully charged one in a jiffy, hence reducing range anxiety and slow battery charging hassles. When launched, Activa electric will compete with TVS iQube, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, Simple One and a lot more.According to industry experts, the Indian EV market is likely to expand at a CAGR of 77% by value sometime within 2017 and 2025. Honda may have bought the ticket late, but catching this EV train is paramount. Yamaha, you next?Source More

New Honda Activa 7G Scooter Teased Ahead Of Launch ?

Honda is the highest-selling scooter manufacturer in India whose sales charts are led by Activa seriesNew Honda Activa 7G Scooter Teased?Honda is currently a default choice when it comes to scooters as it is the highest-selling scooter brand in India. When scooter sales figures are analyzed, among all other scooters in India, Activa sells the most. It alone sells more than the immediate next 8 highest-selling scooters combined.Activa is currently offered in 6G guise and sells like hot cakes. My own family bought one without even giving it a second thought. Such is its popularity. Honda is synonymous with scooterization in India. So much so, that we wanted Forza 350 maxi-scooter to launch in India instead of the generic-looking CB300F street bike that was launched yesterday.New Honda Activa 7GHonda Activa range currently comprises Activa 6G and Activa 125. Activa 6G also has a sporty sibling in the form of Dio which recently got limited edition colour schemes to give more swag to an already swaggy scooter. Same idea is also implied on Activa 125 in the form of Grazia which comes off as its sportier alternative.Honda just dropped a new teaser on social media with a “Coming Soon” phrase slapped onto it. We can see the face of a scooter. The scooter is greyed out, but its face is distinguishable. It is of standard Activa and not the Activa 125. We can say for sure because Activa 125 doesn’t get its front turn indicators flanking the headlight.New Honda Activa 7G Scooter Teased?Instead, they’re found on a chrome beltline above the front mudguard. But standard Activa gets front turn indicators flanking its headlights as seen in the new teaser. So, Honda seems to be prepping Activa 7G for the festive season to boost already unrivaled sales. Not a lot is known about Activa 7G as info that could be extracted from the teaser is fairly meek. But in Honda fashion, we can expect more teasers soon. What To Expect?Honda 7G is unlikely to be a significant update over 6G like 6G was over 5G. Because Activa 6G was the one that brought BS6 transition and a host of new updates. Activa 7G is likely to get the same powertrain which is a 110cc motor making 7.68 bhp and 8.79 Nm. Activa 7G will get subtle changes over 6G.Honda Activa 7G will get all the strengths of 6G like, fuel efficiency, boot space, 692 mm seat height, low step-through floor board, silent starter motor, and a lot more. It will even get an external fuel filler cap that upcoming Hero sporty 125cc scooter miss out on. Honda could make the semi-digital instrument cluster and LED headlights as standard fitment on Activa 7G which was optional with Deluxe variant on Activa 6G.As it is a generation leap, Activa 7G can get some tweaks to 6G’s engine too to make it a little more fuel efficient. Yamaha offers a mild-hybrid tech on Fascino and Ray ZR and Honda could fit something similar on the highest-selling scooter in India. The Japanese brand is likely to raise the price too. Right now, Activa 6G costs Rs. 73K for Standard trim and 75K for Deluxe trim and competes with TVS Jupiter 110, Hero Pleasure+, Hero Maestro Edge 110, and Honda’s own Dio. More
