Honda Upcoming 100cc Bike To Rival Splendor And HF Deluxe

Honda upcoming 100cc bike is coming in 2023 and is highly likely to be the company’s first new offering of 2023Honda CD 110 – For ReferenceIt is a known fact that Honda is a top name in the Indian scooter market. With Activa in its arsenal, Honda is practically unmatched. To put it into context, Activa alone accounts for more than 50 percent of Honda’s total sales. If you take top 10 best-selling scooters in India, Activa sells almost as much as the rest of the nine contestants combined. In the global two wheeler market, India plays a leading role for Honda bringing in lakhs of units in sales each month.Honda doesn’t enjoy the same monopoly when it comes to best-selling motorcycles. That is because Hero MotoCorp has always been the champion in this era. With Splendor range of budget bikes, Hero has unmatched popularity among rural customers. This is where Honda is currently falling short. This is where Honda is planning to chart a stronger path forward.Honda Upcoming 100cc BikeThis development is in the form of a 100cc bike to challenge Splendor. Right now, Honda’s lowest capacity commuter motorcycle engine is a 110cc unit (109.51cc) that does duties on CD 110 Dream and Livo. Above these are Honda Shine and SP 125 which come with a 125cc engine. However, its arch-rival, Hero offers a 100cc platform (97.2cc) which promises more frugality. Something which target audiences appreciate. This engine is offered with HF Deluxe and Splendor Plus, which is the highest-selling motorcycle in the country.Hero Splendor Plus XTECSpeaking at 62nd annual convention of SIAM, HMSI CEO and MD, Atsushi Ogata revealed that Honda’s upcoming product is a 100cc budget commuter motorcycle. He further revealed that this 100cc commuter will be Honda’s first product in 2023. Honda upcoming 100cc bike will take Honda’s reachability even further and is expected to be well received in India. Honda is also planning to launch over 10 new EVs globally.Atsushi Ogata also stressed that for rural use where short-distance riding is the norm, 125cc and upcoming 100cc models will do better. This market is not too hot for EVs as budget and versatility is the deciding factor here. With a well-tuned suspension and a good frame, this new platform might yield good fruits to Honda and close in the marginal gap that it currently has behind Hero.Specs and PricingCurrently, Honda’s 125cc platform, which consists of Shine and SP125 is powered by a 124cc engine that makes around 10.6 bhp of power and 11 Nm of torque. Shine gets a 4-speed gearbox. While SP125 gets a 5-speed unit. This category of motorcycles offer around 60 km/l of fuel economy in the real world too.Its arch-rival Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe get a 97.2cc engine that is capable of making around 8 bhp of power and 8.05 Nm of torque. This engine is only coupled to a 4-speed gearbox. This platform is even more frugal and offers around 65+ km/l fuel efficiency. Honda upcoming 100cc bike might also make power and torque figures around the same ballpark.HF Deluxe pricing starts from Rs. 54K and Splendor Plus start from around Rs. 70K and comes packed with features like XTec connectivity too. While CD 110 Dream starts at around Rs. 70K and Livo start from Rs. 75K. With an aggressive price point, Honda upcoming 100cc bike may make a dent in Splendor sales. Apart from Splendor Plus and HF Deluxe, it will also compete with Bajaj Platina too.Source More

New Honda Electric Scooters, Motorcycles – 10 EV Launches By 2025

Honda is currently not selling any EVs or flex fuel products in India which is set to change starting from 2023Image for illustration purpose. With just 85 units short, Honda India lost to Hero MotoCorp in overall (domestic+export) sales in August 2022. Both companies are also branching out to incorporate EVs into their portfolio. Hero is likely to launch its Vida branded electric scooter by the end of this year and Honda has revealed that it will launch an electric scooter in 2023.Honda is launching 10 new electric 2W vehicles or more by the end of 2025. These 10 or more EVs are to include a wide variety of segments. Not just that, alongside these 10 EVs, Honda will also launch flex-fuel motorcycles as soon as 2023. India is also under radar for some of these offerings. Let’s take a look.Honda New LaunchesHonda is launching 10 new electric 2W vehicles or more by the end of 2025. This is Honda’s plan toward an EV future and attaining carbon neutrality. Coming from Honda, this is big news as this motorcycle is arguably the most influential motorcycle company in the world.Honda has teamed up with other three Japanese “Big 4” (Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha) into a consortium in 2019 towards a uniform standard for batteries, charging stations and a few other EV components. This will significantly bring usability and ease for general consensus. For example, Apple sticking to lightning ports on few of their products is just a pain in the wrong place for everyone.Honda New Fun EVsThe Japanese brand also has a similar consortium regarding swappable battery standards with brands from the old continent like Piaggio and KTM. Honda’s 10 or more new EVs will be offered in the form of mopeds and bicycles, commuters and “fun” EVs. These models will be launched between now and 2025 with a few mopeds, bicycles and commuters to see the light of the day first.Honda New EVs Global LineupHonda has big ambitions of at least 1 million unit sales by 2025 and 3.5 million unit sales by 2030. With proper planning and marketing, Honda is likely to achieve its roadmap. Honda is calling its powertrain and control units Monozukuri and is likely to spawn on these upcoming EVs.Flex Fuel BikesSome of these EVs will also make it to India. One of them will be an electric scooter which is likely to get Activa in its name. Honda India recently patented a hub motor in India which is likely to fall on this product and future products too. In terms of batteries, Honda is likely to push swappable battery tech both here in India and globally.Honda New Launches – EV PowertrainHonda’s “fun” EVs are less likely to be launched in India though. Also, electric mopeds and bicycles are a lot more feasible for India. Honda is working on solid-state batteries that have superior battery chemistry and are also known to be safer. But mass-producing solid-state batteries are the only thing that is a fly in the ointment.Coming to flex fuel bikes, India is likely to be under Honda’s radar as we already use 10% ethanol blended fuels. These flex fuel bikes will be able to run on 20% ethanol and by 2025, Honda might also develop engines that can run on 100% ethanol too. India is set to roll out 20% ethanol blend fuels in select states in 2023. More

New Honda 125cc Scooter, 2 Motorcycles – Launch Confirmed

Honda currently has products in most engine capacities and also segments, and is pushing sales envelope further2022 Honda ADV ScooterHonda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is currently the second highest-selling 2W manufacturer in India. But in the month of August, Honda pushed on and in a nail-biting fight with Hero for the top spot in overall sales (domestic + exports), Honda just fell short by 85 units only. Just 85 units!Honda sold 4,23,216 units domestically in the month of August while Hero sold 4,50,740 units in the same time. But Honda exported 39,307 units while Hero only exported 11,868 units. When added up, Hero sold 4,62,608 units while Honda sold 4,62,523 units. Just 85 units short which is commendable. Good luck next time champ.Honda Upcoming BikesAccording to reports, Honda is expected to launch 3 new products in the Indian market to close the gap on Hero even more domestically. Those three products are said to fall in 125cc scooter segment, 160cc segment and the 300cc to 350cc segment. If we look at the 150cc to 200cc bikes segment, Honda doesn’t have a trendy name to rely on. Bajaj has the ever-expanding Pulsar brand, TVS has Apache brand and Yamaha has FZ brand. These brands have massive cult following which Honda’s Unicorn and Hornet have not been able to spawn.Honda Scrambler 350cc – Render based on leaked patent by Young MachineBut looking at recent sales trends, Unicorn 160 sold 11,203 units in July 2022 while it only sold 1,906 units on June 2022. Hornet 2.0 sold 1,240 units in July 2022 while it only sold 79 units in June 2022. There is a huge potential in the 160cc – 180cc space which rivals like Bajaj and TVS are making use of. When launched, it will take on Pulsar N160, Apache RTR 160 4V and the likes. But when it comes to scooters, Honda is the undisputed champion. With heavy lifters like Activa brand in its bag, there is no real threat for Honda’s scooters. But to keep the winning streak going, Honda seems to be launching a 125cc scooter. We hope it is a maxi-styled scooter though as that is the one segment Honda has still not ventured into.300cc – 350cc BikesIn 200cc to 500cc category, there is no beating Royal Enfield. In July 2022, Royal Enfield alone took the first five spots with 48,840 units combined. With the launch of Hunter 350, sales numbers are likely to go off the roof. But at the same time, Honda only sold 2,120 units in that month contributed by CB350.Honda ADV 160cc for India?Honda recently launched CB300F and going by Honda’s previous launches, we can expect a CB300X ADV based on it. This would take on BMW G 310 GS, KTM 390 Adventure and the likes. Honda has also trademarked the name Brigade which is believed to be a special edition of CB350.Together, in the coming year, Honda is expected to launch at least 3 products to push sales envelopes further. Even though Honda scooters are fantastic for sales charts, motorcycles are not compelling when compared to rivals in terms of pricing strategies. With better pricing, Honda can definitely take on Hero in terms of overall sales. More

Shine is already a bestseller and consistently ranks among top 10 two-wheelers in the country. In July, it was in third place, trailing behind Hero Splendor and Activa.Honda Shine Celebration Edition featuresHonda Shine Celebration Edition gets two new colour options – Matte Steel Black Metallic and Matte Sangria Red Metallic. The special edition bike also gets a new golden theme. While the graphics have the same layout, they are done in a striking golden shade.New Honda Shine Celebration EditionThe golden theme extends to other components such as the golden wingmark emblem, Shine logo on tail section and celebration edition logo on the tank top. The headlamp cowl and side panels also get golden garnish.Among the two new colour options, the golden theme stands out with the Matte Sangria Red Metallic. The overall look and feel is more agreeable on this one, as compared to Matte Steel Black Metallic colour option. This is especially true, taking into account the brown colour seat.If the seat had the standard black shade, the Matte Steel Black Metallic colour option would have worked better with the golden theme. Users looking for a sprightly colour option are most likely to go with the Matte Sangria Red Metallic shade.New Honda Shine Celebration EditionAnother update is matte axis grey metallic muffler cover, which complements the golden theme of Shine Celebration Edition. In the standard model, the muffler cover comes in glossy chrome finish. Honda Price Hike Aug 2022 – Activa, Dio, CB200X, Unicorn, CB350

Honda India has hiked the prices for all of its models offered in India and CB200X got the most hike at Rs. 17,340Image – Motovin77Honda India already has a reputation for being overpriced and with the new price hike, that reputation is now amplified. We get that manufacturers have to pass on some of the incurred costs to customers. We say this because production costs and input costs have been on the rise and price hikes are evident. But of all manufacturers, when Honda does it, it feels a little overwhelming because Honda products are generally overpriced, to begin with. It seems that Honda could have absorbed the rising input costs a little more. We say this because CB200X that is not a good-seeling bike, got a ridiculous price hike of Rs. 17,340. Let’s take a look.Honda Price Hike August 2022Starting with CB200X which got a ridiculous and atrocious Rs. 17,340 at 13.32% price hike, we don’t understand why Honda did this. Because CB200X is a wannabe ADV that is just a slight extension of Hornet 2.0 with a 2V head. For around Rs. 22,000 less one can buy an XPulse 200 2V and for Rs. 11,000 less, one can buy XPulse 200 4V which are proper off-roaders that punch way above their displacements.Next highest price hike is CB350 DLX at Rs. 11,679 and CB350 at Rs. 10,679 standing at 6.26% and 5.55% increment. Next comes X-Blade, Unicorn 160 and Hornet 2.0. They get around Rs. 7,000 to 8,000 hike ranging from 5.52% on Hornet 2.0 and going till 8.32% increment on the high-capacity commuter Unicorn 160.Honda Scooters Price Hike Aug 2022Grazia premium 125cc scooter gets Rs. 6,396 price increment for both drum brake and as well as disc brake variants. Grazia 125’s price hike amounts to 7.79% to 8.55% increment than prices in July 2022. After Grazia, Dio seems to be next with Rs. 5,588 for Dio STD and Rs. 5,690 for Dio Deluxe accounting for around an 8.75% increment.  Even though Activa 6G gets the exact same powertrain, components, electricals and most things, it only gets hike of Rs. 968 for STD and Rs. 1,223 for Deluxe variants. This accounts for around 1.5% increment only while Dio incurred 8.75%. Is this because Activa is extremely popular and hiking its price too much will create a dent in sales? Maybe.Least Hike & New PricingComing to the bottom end of the price hike spectrum, we have the Activa 125 series that got Rs. 1,036 to Rs. 1,127 and accounts for 1.26% to 1.50% increment. All of the budget commuters from CD110 Dream to SP125, get around Rs. 1,070 price hike accounting to 1.26% to 1.54% increment.Honda Motorcycles Price Hike Aug 2022With the new pricing, Dio now starts from Rs. 67,817, Activa 6G from Rs. 72,400, Activa 125 from Rs. 76,025 and Grazia from Rs. 81,211. Honda’s budget commuter series now starts from Rs. 70,315 for CD110 Dream and goes till Rs. 86,486 for SP125 Disc.Unicorn 160 now crosses the 1 lakh mark at Rs. 1,03,706 while X-Blade starts at Rs. 1,15,614. Hornet 2.0 now costs Rs. 1,35,274 and CB200X Rs. 1,47,535. Honda’s Big Wing exclusive CB350 series now starts at Rs. 1,98,179. All the prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi. More

Honda Activa Premium Edition Launch Price Rs 75k – 3 New Colours

Honda Activa Premium edition is largely focused on achieving a more youthful, quirky profile; gets three new colour optionsHonda Activa Premium Edition LaunchedIndia’s top selling scooter, Honda Activa gets a new Premium Edition variant. It has been launched at a starting price of Rs 75,400, which is exactly Rs 1k costlier than top-spec Activa DLX variant. Base-spec Activa 6G Standard variant price starts at Rs 72,400 (ex-sh, Delhi). With Activa Premium Edition, Honda will be looking to target the younger generation.Hardware specs and features of Activa Premium edition will be the same as Activa DLX variant. Performance upgrades are not needed, as Activa is already popular for its peppy performance. The core idea of new variant is primarily to explore opportunities beyond the strong familial appeal of Activa.Honda Activa Premium featuresActiva Premium has been spruced up to make it a true-blue head turner on the streets. It is in-line with tastes and preferences of the younger generation. One of the key features is golden coloured wheels, which ensure a premium look and feel for the scooter. At the front, Activa Premium gets gold coated chrome garnish on the turn indicator housing. Honda logo at the front also has the same shade.Side profile has been enhanced with ‘Activa Premium’ logo in golden finish. The scooter also gets a brown colour inner body and matching seat cover. These cosmetic updates work to ensure a more vibrant profile for the scooter. In case of standard Activa model, inner body and seat cover have the conventional black shade.Honda Activa Premium Edition LaunchedActiva Premium is available in three new colour options of Mat Marshal Green Metallic, Mat Sangria Red Metallic and Pearl Siren Blue. These work to enhance personalization options available to users. All three colours appear to create an exciting contrast with the golden highlights and brown inner body and seat cover.Honda Activa Premium Edition SpecsSome may call it a bit gaudy, but one thing is certain that Activa Premium will be hard to miss on the streets. Standard Activa has relatively sober colour options such as Decent Blue, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Magnificent Copper Metallic, Black, Pearl Precious White and Rebel Red Metallic.Activa Premium specsWhile it has a snazzy profile, Honda Activa Premium edition does not get any performance boost or new features. Activa is powered by a 109.51 cc fan cooled motor that generates 7.80 PS of max power at 8,000 rpm and 8.84 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm.Honda Activa Prices Aug 2022It has an under-bone frame, with telescopic front and 3-step adjustable spring loaded rear suspension. Braking duties are performed by 130 mm drum brakes at both ends. Activa has 12-inch front wheel shod with 90/90 tyre and 10-inch rear wheel with 90/100 tyre. Some key features available with Activa include eSP technology, ACG starter motor for silent starts, programmed fuel injection, engine start stop switch and LED DC headlamp. Other highlights include external fuel fill cap, large instrument console and ample underseat storage. As compared to its predecessor, the current Activa 6G model delivers 10% more mileage. More

New Honda Activa Premium Edition Scooter Teased – Launch Soon

Honda Activa 6G was launched in 2020 and was the torch bearer for BS6 engines on Activa seriesNew Honda Activa Premium Edition ScooterHonda India has a massive pull on scooter segment in India. Activa brand is so popular that it is synonymous with scooters and is a default choice for most scooter buyers in India. There was a time when this spot was enjoyed by Bajaj. Scooter meant Bajaj. But today, when looking at sales charts, Activa absolutely annihilates the competition. So, how can Honda better a product that is already a force to reckon with? We could get a new generation of this legend. But it looks like Honda is just offering a limited edition Activa 6G.New Honda Activa Premium EditionHonda’s teasers for new Activa are still limited to exteriors though. None of them reveal the engine specs and actual changes this new scooter will bring to the table. Looking at the exterior of this new Activa that is teased by Honda, we are hard pressed to pinpoint what exactly the changes are. Because it looks identical to the Activa 6G.This raises the question if this is Activa 7G or Futuristic Activa Electric that was recently announced by Honda or just a limited edition of the already on sale Activa 6G. Going by Honda’s past records, there is a high possibility that it might be a limited edition version of the Activa 6G like Dio Sports limited edition that was recently launched.New Honda Activa Premium EditionActiva 3G was launched in Feb 2015, Activa 4G was launched in Feb 2017, Activa 5G was launched in March 2018 and Activa 6G was launched in Jan 2020. Seeing a pattern here? Honda has always launched new generations of Activa in Q1 of a fiscal year. So, chances of a new generation of Activa in Q3 of this fiscal year sound meek, doesn’t it?Also, the second teaser looked like it had a matte-finished green paint scheme and gold-coloured vents on its apron. This colour scheme was never on offer before. Right now, Activa 6G is offered in eight colours and doesn’t get a matte green shade. It gets Matte Mature Brown, Pearl Nightstar Black, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Matte Magnificent Copper Metallic, Pearl precious White, Decent Blue, Red Rebel Metallic, and lastly, Black.Specs & PriceNew Honda Activa Premium Edition may get matt blue colour shade that was teased in the first teaser and a matte green shade too. Honda Activa 6G was the torch bearer for BS6 scooters and it is the best Activa to date, if you ask us. It gets a decently peppy 110cc motor making 7.68 bhp of power and 8.79 Nm of torque.More teasers from Honda in the coming days are very likely. In terms of pricing, limited editions might cost around Rs. 2,000 more than regular shades. It is also likely to get Standard and Deluxe variants too. Deluxe trim gets LED headlights and DRLs. It is likely to get alloy wheels on the limited edition Activa 6G Deluxe variant as we saw with Dio sports. This limited edition Activa 6G will be launched around the festive season. More
