  • BS6 Hero Xpulse 200 T and Xtreme 200 S Teased on Official Website

Hero Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T are expected to get a price hike in the range of Rs.10,000
Hero MotoCorp has updated their official website with the re-listing of the new BS6 Hero Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T motorcycles. It may be recalled that these two bikes had been struck off the company website earlier in April 2020, along with the Xtreme 200R.

Though there is no update on Xtreme 200R, the good news is that Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T are making a comeback in BS6 avatar. Both motorcycle engines are being updated to comply with the new BS6 norms but all styling and features remain unchanged.
Hero Xpulse 200S is a road based fully faired version while the Xpulse 200T is a touring motorcycle, which shares a lot with the recently launched Xpulse 200. Hero offers a fully digital instrument cluster across its 200cc range along with Bluetooth connectivity and turn by turn navigation. The two new motorcycles sit on 17 inch allow wheels in the front as well as rear.

    Hero ‘X’ Specs
Hero MotoCorp ‘X’ family includes Xpulse and Xtreme range. In the BS4 era, a total of 5 motorcycles were on offer under the Hero X family. These were Xpulse 200, 200T and Xtreme 160R, 200R, 200S. But in the BS6 era, only two been launched till date (Xtreme 160R and Xpulse 200), while two more are now teased as coming soon.
Hero X 200 range is powered by newly developed 200 cc single cylinder engine. This is a 199.6cc oil cooled, fuel injected engine, that in BS6 format offers 17.8 hp power at 8,500 rpm and 16.45 Nm torque 6,400 rpm. This would be marginally lower power and torque figures by 0.3 hp and 0.7 Nm as compared to that seen on the BS4 models. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox as standard.
Hero Xtreme 200S and Xtreme 200T share many parts as well as platform. To comply with the new emission norms, the two motorcycles are also fitted with a catalytic converter integrated into its exhaust system. The oil cooler allows maintaining temperatures at optimum levels during longer rides though weight of the bikes have been increased by 3 kgs. Hero Xtreme 200S and Xpulse 200T will go on sale at marginally price hike as compared to their BS4 counterparts; by around Rs.5,000-10,000.

  • Hero Motorcycle Ambulance Delivered in Rajasthan – As First Responder Vehicle

Hero MotoCorp has donated a modified motorcycle / ambulance, based on Xtreme 200
Aiming to do its bit for the welfare of the masses, world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has donated two first-responder vehicles to community health centres in Neemrana and Mundawar. These health centres are located in Alwar district of Rajasthan. The bike ambulances were handed over to authorities in the presence of Shri Manjeet Dharampal Choudhary, Member of the State Legislative Assembly of Rajasthan, Mundawar (Neemrana), Alwar.

The company will be donating more of these first-responder vehicles in other areas of the country. This is part of their on-going Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives targeted at providing the necessary relief to people during the current coronavirus pandemic.
A great help for Covid-19 patients
These bike ambulances can be very useful in the fight against Covid-19, as patients can be quickly transported to the nearest health centre. Ambulances are usually not available in rural and remote parts of the country, so bike ambulances can be a godsend for serious Covid-19 patients. Severe Covid-19 cases tend to deteriorate very rapidly and it becomes necessary to provide medical aid at the earliest.

    Hero Bike Ambulance
First-responder vehicles supplied by Hero MotoCorp come with a range of features, medical supplies and equipment. The entire unit has been custom built using the powerful Xtreme 200R motorcycles as a base.
A streetfighter, Xtreme 200R is powered by a 200 cc air-cooled carburetted single-cylinder engine that generates 18.1 bhp of max power and 17.1 Nm of max torque. Engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike was launched in 2018 and it was positioned as a direct competitor to Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Xtreme 200R can handle rough terrain, which makes it suitable for use as a first-responder vehicle in rural and remote areas.
    Basic structure and equipment
Attached to the left side of the motorcycle is a sidecar, which primarily functions as a stretcher. For the comfort and protection of the patient, the stretcher comes with a foldable hood. Medical supplies include a first-aid kit and oxygen cylinder. Oxygen supply is critical to saving Covid-19 patients who develop respiratory issues.

    Hero Bike Ambulance
Other equipment on-board the first responder vehicle includes foldable beacon light, LED flasher light, and a fire extinguisher. There’s a siren and emergency public announcement system as well for effective crowd management. Hero MotoCorp’s first-responder vehicle is the result of a joint collaboration between Hero’s Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur and the New Model Centre (NMC) at the Company’s manufacturing facility in Gurgaon.
    Other initiatives by Hero MotoCorp
A few months back, Hero MotoCorp had donated Rs 100 Crore (US$ 14 million) to aid the fight against coronavirus. The company has also been helping homeless families and daily wage workers who have been deeply impacted due to the pandemic. More

  • 2020 Hero Xpulse BS6 launched at Rs 1.12 Lakh – Gets oil cooling

2020 Hero Xpulse BS6 witnesses a marginal drop in output figures but gains oil-cooling system
The Hero Xpulse dual-purpose motorcycle has finally received the much needed BS6 emission upgrades. The updated model is priced at INR 1,11,790 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). This represents a price hike of nearly INR 6,000.
What has changed in the 2020 Hero Xpulse BS6?

The 2020 Hero Xpulse BS6 continues to employ the fuel-injected 199 cc single-cylinder engine but it now benefits from an oil-cooling system. The power and torque outputs, as with most BS6 updates, witness a marginal drop but the difference in real-world conditions would be hardly noticeable. The BS6-ready motor produces 17.8 hp (0.3 hp lower) and 16.45 Nm (0.65 Nm lower). The transmission continues to be a 5-speed unit.
In addition to engine changes, the motorcycle also features a revised exhaust system with an additional catalytic converter near the belly. The exhaust tube has been rerouted and the bash plate has been revised to accommodate the new component. There are no other visual changes.
Feature highlights of 2020 Hero Xpulse BS6

The 2020 Hero Xpulse BS6 carries forward the equipment without any changes. Salient features include LED headlight and taillight, long-travel suspension, fully digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS, spoke wheels, and of course, dual-purpose tyres.
The motorcycle is available in five color options namely Panther Black, White, Matte Grey, Sports Red and Matte Green. The motorcycle weights 157 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13 liter.
The Hero Xpulse 200 is the only authentic dual-purpose motorcycle in its price and displacement segment. So, it has no direct rivals but alternative options in that displacement includes its own sibling – the Xtreme 200S, TVS Apache RTR 200 and KTM Duke 200. However, these motorcycles cater to different tastes. At this price point, the Xpulse undercuts some of smaller engined motorcycles, making it a good value for money.

Like all OEMs, Hero Motocorp has been witnessing significant drop in sales during this pandemic. In June 2020, the world’s largest two wheeler maker (in terms of volume) managed to clock 4,50,744 units in the domestic market which represents a YoY decline of 26.89%.
Things are expected to get better in a few months time as suggested by the upward trend in month-on-month sales figures. The company recently introduced the radical Xtreme 160R naked bike and has also updated almost all of its existing products to BS6 standards. More
