Hero MotoCorp has increased prices of their 110cc Pleasure Plus and 125 cc Destini scooter
Even though the two-wheeler segment continues to be adversely impacted by Covid-19 pandemic, Hero MotoCorp has increased prices of its Pleasure Plus and Destini 125 scooters. As may be recalled, other manufacturers have also increased prices of their two-wheelers in recent months.

MoM sales have actually improved for several two-wheeler models since the lockdown was lifted. Coupled with the fact that sales may witness an uptick during the festive season, this may be the right time to increase prices.
    Pleasure Plus price hike
In case of Pleasure Plus, prices of sheet metal wheel and alloy wheel models have been increased by Rs 1,300 each. Revised prices are Rs 56,100 and Rs 58,100, respectively. In spite of the price hike, the scooter is still a lot cheaper than its main rival, Honda Activa 6G.

Hero Pleasure Plus, Destini 125 Prices vs Activa – Aug 2020

Some of the key features include retro styled headlamp, analogue speedometer, LED boot lamp, side stand indicator, mobile charging port, utility box and sporty tail lamp. Destini 125 price hike

    Hero Destini
Destini 125 BS6 was launched earlier this year in February. Its primary rival is the top selling Honda Activa. Destini 125 new prices are Rs 65,810 for sheet metal wheels variant and Rs 68,600 for alloy wheels variant. In effect, prices have been increased by Rs 500 each.

  • Hero HF Deluxe BS6 receives New Variants – Prices start at Rs 48,000

Previous Hero HF Deluxe BS6 variants have received a minor price hike while the overall starting price came down
Hero MotoCorp has updated its entry-level HF Deluxe budget commuter motorcycle with the addition of three new variants. In other words, the 2020MY Hero HF Deluxe BS6 comes in five variants in total: kick start + spoke wheels, kick start + alloy wheels, self start + alloy wheels, self start + alloy wheels (black version) and self start + alloy wheels i3S version.
    Updated pricing

Prices for the 2020MY Hero HF Deluxe BS6 start at Rs 48,000 ex-showroom. Here is a brief breakup of the five variants:
Kick Start / Spoke Wheels: Rs 48,000
Kick Start / Alloy Wheels: Rs 49,000
Self Start / Alloy Wheels: Rs 57,175
Self Start / Alloy Wheels (all-black): Rs 57,300
Self Start / Alloy Wheels i3S: Rs 58,500
Thanks to the addition of a new base-spec ‘kick start + spoke wheels’ variant, the overall ex-showroom starting price has dropped considerably from before. However, prices of the previous variants have increased slightly. In July 2020, Hero MotoCorp had registered over 5 lakh units in domestic sales thanks to an overwhelming demand for the HF Deluxe and Splendor range.

Hero MotoCorp has a strong budget commuter motorcycle portfolio and this is also the reason why the Indian automaker continues to be the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the world. Last month, the company witnessed impressive sales figures but underwent a decline of just under four per cent. The Indian automotive industry is still making a gradual recovery from COVID-19 and the initial two-month long strict lockdown protocols.
It appears that two-wheelers are doing relatively well amid these challenging times. This is quite unusual since motorcycle and scooter sales often dip during the monsoons. On the other hand, major automakers have introduced online sales platforms to provide a safe, efficient and socially-distanced path for purchasing a new vehicle.
    Specs & features
Powered by a BS6-compliant 97.2cc air-cooled FI single-cylinder engine, the Hero HF Deluxe makes 7.91bhp @ 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm @ 6,000rpm. This is mated to a 4-speed transmission. Key features and equipment include CBS (combi-braking system), engine cut-off on falling, 2-step adjustable rear hydraulic shock absorbers, alloy wheels and i3S technology.
It comes in five colour choices: Techno Blue, Heavy Grey with Green, Heavy Grey with Black, Black with Purple and Black with Red. Fuel tank capacity and kerb weight stand at 9.6 litres and 109kg (kick start variant; 112kg for ‘self start’ variant), respectively. The motorcycle commands a ground clearance of 165mm. More

  • Hero MotoCorp Sales, Exports Data July 2020 – Splendor, HF Deluxe, Glamour

In July 2020, Hero MotoCorp sold 5,06,946 units (-0.87%) compared to 5,11,374 units back in July 2019
The Indian automotive industry is making a slow recovery from COVID-19 and the near two-month nationwide lockdown that was initiated towards the end of March 2020. By the second week of May, major businesses including automotive facilities (plants, showrooms and service outlets) in ‘green’ and ‘orange’ COVID-19 zones were allowed to function. However, staff now follow strict guidelines on safety and social distancing.

Meanwhile, OEMs across major vehicle categories have started online sales platforms to boost business amid these trying times. Sales have improved in the last couple of months but have got to go a long way before attaining pre-COVID trends. Two-wheelers seem to be doing relatively better despite being the monsoons (a period when two-wheeler sales usually see less demand). Furthermore, the new ‘online showrooms’ offer significant benefits over the usual way of purchasing a new vehicle.
Hero MotoCorp’s July 2020 sales performance

Hero Pleasure scooter garnered 16,290 units in July 2020. This is a drop of 7.60% in comparison to 17,629 units last year. • Hero MotoCorp donates First Responder Vehicles to Civil Hospital in Gurugram

These First Responder Vehicles (FRVs) are based on the Hero Xtreme 200R motorcycle
Most automakers in India are playing significant roles in performing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives to aid in mitigating the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. Hero MotoCorp is no exception.

As a part of the CSR initiative, Hero MotoCorp has delivered two units of First Responder Vehicles (FRV) to the Civil Hospital in Gurugram. These specially designed vehicles will help to reach out to COVID-19 positive patients in rural and remote areas and help in shifting them to the hospital for treatment. Last month, Hero handed over two such first-responder vehicles to authorities at Community Health Centres in Neemrana and Mundawar, Alwar district, Rajasthan.
Custom-Built as an Accessory on the Xtreme 200R
These FRV’s are custom built as an accessory on the Hero Xtreme 200R motorcycle and is fitted with a stretcher with a foldable hood which is mounted on the side of the vehicle. It also gets equipped with a detachable first aid kit, oxygen cylinder, fire extinguisher and an emergency public announcement system with a siren and foldable beacon light as is normally seen on any full sized ambulance.

In stock format, the Hero Xtreme 200R is powered by a 199.6 cc, single cylinder, air cooled engine offering 18.1 hp power and 17.1 Nm torque. The engine is a 2 valve unit sending power to rear wheel via a 5 speed gearbox. The engine will work harder in terms of the FRV due to extra weight involved.
The FRVs are designed and developed at the Hero Center of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur and New Model Center in Gurgaon. The vehicles were handed over by Mr. Vijay Sethi – Chief Information Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer and Head – Corporate Social Responsibility, Hero MotoCorp, and Dr. Shriniket Mishra – Chief Medical Officer – Hero MotoCorp to Dr. Virender Yadav, Chief Medical Officer, Gurugram in the presence of Shri. Ashok Sangwan – IAS, Divisional Commissioner, Gurugram and Shri. Amit Khatri – IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram.
The specially designed and equipped FRVs are convenient owing to their lithe and compact size. Two wheelers for long have been the wheels of choice for transport in rural areas, and their utility as a transporter will find quick acceptance. They can be pressed into service in quick time based on initial patient diagnosis.
Apart from presenting these two FRVs to the Civil Hospital in Gurugram, Hero MotoCorp is also in the process of manufacturing more such first responder vehicles which will make their way to other local hospitals across India.
Along with this initiative, Hero MotoCorp has also extended support in view of the coronavirus pandemic by distributing 14 lakh meals, 37,000 liters of sanitizer and 30 lakh facemasks along with 15,000 PPE kits to frontline workers in both Government hospitals and the Police Department. More

There’s no slowing Hero MotoCorp, and it’s starting to look like business as usual. With the industry jolted into suspension in the end of March 2020, three months later the inactivity seems a far cry from the inactivity that gripped the industry not so long ago.

Hero MotoCorp has sold 514,509 motorcycle and scooter units in July 2020. MoM sales growth over June 2020 is accounted at 14 percent. Wholesale dispatch numbers are at 95 percent of July 2019. Volumes have gotten boost from strong retail sales owing to positive market demand.

These bike ambulances can be very useful in the fight against Covid-19, as patients can be quickly transported to the nearest health centre. Ambulances are usually not available in rural and remote parts of the country, so bike ambulances can be a godsend for serious Covid-19 patients. Severe Covid-19 cases tend to deteriorate very rapidly and it becomes necessary to provide medical aid at the earliest.

First-responder vehicles supplied by Hero MotoCorp come with a range of features, medical supplies and equipment. The entire unit has been custom built using the powerful Xtreme 200R motorcycles as a base.
A streetfighter, Xtreme 200R is powered by a 200 cc air-cooled carburetted single-cylinder engine that generates 18.1 bhp of max power and 17.1 Nm of max torque. Engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike was launched in 2018 and it was positioned as a direct competitor to Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Xtreme 200R can handle rough terrain, which makes it suitable for use as a first-responder vehicle in rural and remote areas.
    Basic structure and equipment
Attached to the left side of the motorcycle is a sidecar, which primarily functions as a stretcher. For the comfort and protection of the patient, the stretcher comes with a foldable hood. Medical supplies include a first-aid kit and oxygen cylinder. Oxygen supply is critical to saving Covid-19 patients who develop respiratory issues.

There’s a siren and emergency public announcement system as well for effective crowd management.
