    Hero Scooter Prices April 2022 – Pleasure, Maestro Edge, Destini

    Prices of scooters from Hero MotoCorp have been increased by up to Rs 2,000 depending on variantNew Hero Pleasure Plus XTECHero MotoCorp is the latest auto brand to increase prices of its models. The company currently offers four scooters under its portfolio namely Pleasure Plus, Maestro Edge 110, Maestro Edge 125 and Destini 125. Prices of almost all variants have been increased this month.Hero Scooter Prices April 2022Hero Pleasure Plus has received a price hike of up to Rs 1,450, Destini is now dearer by up to Rs 1,550. On the other hand, Maestro Edge has received a price hike of Rs 1,250 for its 110cc version and Rs 2,000 for its 125cc guise. Price increments of all models are marginal and should not drastically change buying decisions for prospective consumers.Pleasure Plus is now available at a starting price of Rs 63,520 and goes up to Rs 72,870 for the top-spec XTec Drum Jubilant Yellow variant. Prices of Hero Destini 125 start at Rs 71,500 and go up to Rs 76,900 for the top-spec VX Platinum variant.Xtec lineup of Destini 125 has not witnessed any price update since the scooter was launched only a couple of weeks earlier. Hero recently launched the feature-packed Xtec variant of the Destini 125, priced at Rs 79,990.Hero Scooter Prices April 2022Coming to Maestro Edge, the 110cc version of the sporty-looking scooter is priced at Rs 66,820 for the drum brake variant and Rs 72,870 for the disc brake variant after the latest price update. Whereas the 125cc iteration of Maestro Edge is now priced between Rs 75,450 and Rs 84,320. All prices mentioned above are ex-showroom. No other updates have been reported on any of these four scooters.Hero Scooters SpecsPleasure Plus and Maestro Edge 110 are powered by the same 110.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produces 8 bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque 8.75 Nm at 5,500rpm. On the other hand, Destini and Maestro Edge 125 are powered by a 124cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 8.7 bhp and 10.2 Nm of torque. All scooters are available with a CVT automatic gearbox.All scooters from Hero MotoCorp are offered with a drum brake as standard on both wheels that are aided by combined braking system (CBS). Out of the four models mentioned above, all barring Pleasure Plus are offered with an optional front disc brake.Hero will soon mark its entry into the electric mobility space with its upcoming electric scooter under its new subsidiary brand called Vida.     Honda 2W Sales March 2022 – Activa, Dio, CB350, Unicorn

Rising fuel prices have resulted in more demand for electric vehicles while the work from home or hybrid work culture continues even as the pandemic abates.Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) has posted a YoY de-growth both in terms of domestic sales and exports. MoM sales however, ended more positively though the company has also reported significant de-growth in Q1 2022 sales.Honda 2W Sales March 2022Honda’s domestic sales in March 2022 stood at 3,09,549 units. This was a YoY de-growth of 21.64 percent over 3,95,037 units sold in March 2021. Exports on the other hand dipped 26.29 percent to 11,794 units down from 16,000 units shipped in March 2021. Total sales that included domestic + export stood at 3,21,343 units during the past month. This was a 21.82 percent de-growth to 3,21,343 units as compared to 4,11,037 units sold in March 2021.MoM sales also dipped 2.79 percent from 3,12,621 units sold in February 2022. Domestic sales increased 8.36 percent to 3,09,549 units from 2,85,677 units sold in February 2022 with a share percentage of 91.38 percent. This increased to 96.33 percent in March 2022.Honda Two Wheeler Sales Mar 2022Honda experienced a substantial MoM fall in exports by 56.23 percent from 26,944 units shipped in February 2022. Even as the Honda Activa sells well in the Indian market, Honda’s most exported scooter remains the sporty Dio. Honda Q1 2022 vs Q1 2021 SalesTaking into account Q1 2022 sales, Honda sold 9,88,173 units during the said period. This was a 23.45 de-growth over 12,90,916 units sold in the same Q1 period of 2021. Domestic sales dipped 25.58 percent to 9,10,422 units in Q1 2022 as against 12,23,331 units sold in Q1 2021 commanding a share percentage of 92.13. Exports on the other hand increased 15.04 percent to 77,751 units in Q1 2022 from 67,585 units sold in Q1 2021 with share percentage at 7.87.Honda recently hit the 30 lakh two wheeler export milestone in 21 years. Honda Navi, which has been recently launched, failed to find much demand in Indian markets but has been a topmost export for Honda over the past few months. Exports are conducted to over 29 global markets where along with the Navi, the Dio, X-Blade, Dream, CB Shine, Hornet, Unicorn, Activa and CB350 Hness see good demand.Honda Two Wheeler now plans to launch a range of new scooters and motorcycles in India, to boost sales. They will also be bringing in electric scooters considering its increased demand. Last month, they filed design patents for 3 new scooters, images of which have appeared online while Honda has also filed a trademark for CBR150R in India.     Hero MotoCorp Sales March 2022 – Splendor, Passion, Glamour, Pleasure

Sales which had stood at 5,76,957 units in March 2021 dipped to 4,50,154 units in the past month. It was, however, a 25.65 percent MoM growth over 3,58,254 units sold in February 2021.The company has recently introduced the new Destini 125 ‘XTEC’ scooter that comes in with a new design and the latest in technology, priced at Rs 79,990. The company expects this new 125 cc scooter to boost sales in the months ahead.Hero MotoCorp Sales March 2022Motorcycle sales in the past month stood at 4,25,721 units, down 18.85 percent or 98,887 units when compared to sales of 5,24,608 units sold in March 2021. Motorcycles commanded a 94.57 percent share in March 2022 up from 88.96 percent held in February 2022. Hero motorcycles on offer are Splendor, HF Deluxe, Passion, Glamour, Xpulse, Xtreme.Scooter sales dipped 53.33 percent YoY to 24,433 units in March 2022, down from 52,349 units sold in March 2021. Hero scooters on sale are Passion, Pleasure, Maestro, Destini. Domestic sales fell to 4,15,764 units last month, down 23.62 percent over 5,44,340 units sold in March 2021 while exports increased 7.09 percent to 34,930 units over 32,617 units shipped in March 2021.Hero MotoCorp Sales March 2022Month on month (MoM) sales on the other hand saw more positive results. Total sales increased 25.65 percent from 3,58,254 units sold in February 2022 with sales growth seen across motorcycle and scooter sales both in domestic and global markets.Motorcycle sales increased 25.78 percent from 3,38,454 units sold in February 2022. There was a 23.40 percent growth in scooter sales to 24,433 units in March from 19,800 units sold in February 2022. Total domestic sales also surged 25.43 percent from 3,31,462 units sold in February 2022 while exports increased 30.37 percent over 26,792 units shipped in February 2022.Hero MotoCorp Q1 and YTD SalesHero MotoCorp has also reported a de-growth both in terms of Q1 and YTD sales. Q1 2022 sales stood at 11,88,884 units, down 24.19 percent over 15,68,313 units sold in Q1 of 2021. De-growth was seen both in motorcycle and scooter sales which dipped 21.94 percent and 48.94 percent respectively.Hero MotoCorp Q1 2022 and YTD FY 2022 salesMotorcycle and scooter sales stood at 11,22,020 units and 66,864 units in the Q1 of 2022, down from 14,37,368 units and 1,30,945 units sold in Q1 of 2021. Domestic sales dipped 26.10 percent to 11,05,886 units down from 14,96,549 units while exports increased 16.41 percent to 83,538 units in Q1 2022 from 71,764 units shipped in Q1 of 2021.On a YTD basis, Hero MotoCorp saw sales 14.63 percent to 49,44,150 units in FY2022 period, down from 57,91,539 units sold in FY2021. De-growth was seen both in the case of motorcycle (-13.23 percent) and scooter (-30.93 percent) sales to 46,27,7654 units and 3,16,385 units respectively. Domestic sales dipped 17.08 percent to 46,43,526 units while exports increased substantially by 56.89 percent to 3,00,624 units in FY2022 period over 1,91,609 units shipped in FY2021.In related news, Hero MotoCorp has announced an upward revision in prices of both motorcycles and scooters with effect from 5th April 2022. Sales are down to 3,31,421 units from 4,84,405 units at volume loss of 1,52,984 units. MoM sales decline is reported at 7.58 percent, down from 2,58,607 units. Volume loss stood at 27,186 units. Performance in the first two months of the ongoing quarter is already stressed.Hero Sales Breakup Feb 2022Of this, Splendor sits atop the sales chart at 1,93,731 units, down from 2,47,422 units. Volume decline stood at 53,691 units at 21.70 percent decline. MoM sales decline is at 7 percent, down from 2,08,263 units at volume loss of under 15k units. For both January, and February 2022, Splendor sales accounted for over 58 percent of Hero’s domestic sales.Hero HF Deluxe sales fell by 40 percent, down at 75,927 units from 1,26,309 units. Volume loss stood at 50,382 units. Mom sales declined 11.64 percent, down from 85,926 units. Volume loss stood at 10k units. Glamour sales were flat at 37,406 units, up from 27,375 units. MoM sales improved 12 percent, up from 24,473 units at volume gain of just under 3k units.While Hero motorcycles rule the two-wheeler market, its scooter sales volume is much smaller. Pleasure sales fell to 14,207 units from 23,106 units. At 38.51 percent decline, volume loss is 8.9k units. MoM sales are up from 13,195 units at volume gain of just over 1k units. Passion sales fell to a fifth at 7,196 units from 34,417 units. Volume loss is 27,221 units at 79.09 percent decline. MoM sales fell 38.80 percent, down from 11,759 units.Hero Sales Breakup Feb 2022Hero Maestro sales are down at 4,417 units from 5,899 units. Sales fell by a quarter at volume decline of 1,482 units. MoM sales fell from 5743 units at a 23.09 percent decline. Xpulse 200 sales are up at 4,270 units from 2,861 units. MoM sales improved by over a third, up from 3,132 units.Hero Xtreme 160R sales fell to 3,593 units, down from 4,985 units. Volume loss stood at 1,392 units at 27.92 percent decline. Mom sales improved from 3,067 units. Destini 125 sales decline is steepest at 94.40 percent, down to 674 units from 12k units. MoM sales are down from 3,049 units.Hero Exports Breakup Feb 2022Compared to domestic sales, Hero MotoCorp Feb exports volume is marginal. For Feb ’22, the manufacturer reported growth of 27.98 percent. Exports are up at 26,792 units from 20,934 units. Volume gain is just below 6k units. Mom export growth is reported at 22.81 percent, up from 21,816 units. Volume gain is reported at just under 5k units.Hero Exports Breakup Feb 2022Exports are topped by Hunk at 9,458 units, up from 1,846 units. Volume gain stood at over 7.5k units. MoM exports fell from 20,642 units. Splendor exports are up at 7,684 units from 6,631 units. MoM export is up from 4,030 units at volume gain of 3,654 units. HF Deluxe exports more than doubled at 5,454 units, up from 2,444 units.MoM Glamour exports are up at 1.9k units from 1.2k units. MoM exports fell from 2,772 units to a 31.31 percent decline. Passion export volume stood at 1,904 units, up from 630 units. Maestro exports fell to 342 units from 430 units. Export volume for Pleasure, Destini 125, Xpulse 200 and Xtreme 160/200 totaled to less than 250 units. More

This has resulted in multiple new products being launched in the electric vehicle (EV) space in India, especially in the two-wheeler segment. IC engine-powered vehicles still form the majority of total vehicles on road.Switching to electric machines that look different will not be easy. Brand names like Activa, Splendor etc, which are the best-selling two wheelers of India, might get their own electric versions. These vehicles have not become best-sellers overnight. It has taken years. Manufacturers would want their best-selling brands to continue into the future, with electric versions.Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle RenderAutomotive Designer Vinay Raj Somashekar has now created a render of Hero Splendor Electric motorcycle. Vinay says, “The Hero Splendor is the most quintessential motorcycle in the country, period. Its appearance is iconic and ageless. There is almost nothing random about its design. Every element feels meaningful and purposeful, and the proportions are spot on.”“It’s kind of like Maggi Noodles. If tomorrow, they ship Maggi with 10% more garlic, the customer will be able to tell the difference, and will probably not accept the new version. The Splendor is something like that. It can’t be messed around with. They (Hero) shifted to clear lens multi-reflector halogens in 2004, self-start in 2010, and the seat was slightly lengthened in 2020. That’s it. Someday however, the inevitable must happen. It (Splendor) must go electric. But how?”Hero Splendor Electric Motorcycle Render By Vinay Raj SomashekarIt is this thought process that has led to the interesting new render of Hero Splendor Electric. Vinay has managed to retain most of the signature design elements from the petrol-powered Splendor barring a few key and obvious variations. For instance, engine and gearbox assembly has been replaced by a battery pack enclosed within a blacked-out casing.It gets attractive blue accents on headlamp casing, alloy rims, central panels and rear fender which create a nice contrast. The standard stainless steel grab rail is replaced by a single-piece plastic grab rail borrowed from HF Deluxe. It gets a slightly modified branding in the form of ‘eSplendor’ while the rear fender gets an ‘Urban’ tag.In a practical world, some key changes would have to be made to Splendor’s structure. For example, the downtube chassis would have to be readjusted so that it can house a battery pack and mounting points for the motor. The tank would now comprise a charger circuit, master controller and other auxiliary electronics, while the side box would house a motor controller.Spendor Electric SpecsGetting more into details, Hero Splendor Electric motorcycle render here would come with a fixed 4kWh battery pack that feeds energy to a 9kW mid-ship mounted electric motor which drives the rear wheels using a silent belt drive. There is also space for a secondary 2kWh battery pack which could be a removable unit in all probability. The additional battery pack increases the single-charge range by up to 50 percent.The standard 4kWh battery pack offers a range of 120km on a single charge while with an additional 6kWh battery, this figure increases to 180km. Charging port is accessible through the fuel tank lid. The illustrator has also defined four different variants of eSplendor including Default, Utility+, Range+ and Range Max with different configurations.As of now, Hero MotoCorp has not announced any plans to launch Splendor Electric. But there are a few aftermarket solutions. A few months ago, an EV conversion kit for Hero Splendor was launched by a Thane-based EV startup named GoGoA1. This is negative YoY growth, as compared to 5,05,467 units in the corresponding period last year. YTD FY22 numbers are at 44,93,996 units. It is negative growth, as compared to 52,14,581 units in YTD FY21.Hero MotoCorp Sales Feb 2022In February 2022, Hero MotoCorp sold a total of 3,38,454 motorcycles. YoY growth is negative, as compared to 4,63,723 motorcycles sold in February last year. YTD numbers are 42,02,044 units for FY22 and 48,08,849 units for FY21. Motorcycles on sale from Hero include the likes of Glamour, Splendor, Passion, HF Deluxe, Xpulse, Xtreme, etcScooter sales are also negative in February 2022. As compared to 41,744 scooters in February last year, sales were at 19,800 units in February 2022. YTD numbers are 2,91,952 units for FY22 and 4,05,732 units for FY21. A total of 26,792 units were exported in February 2022, as compared to 21,034 units in February last year. YTD numbers are 2,66,234 units in FY22, as compared to 1,58,991 units in FY21.Hero MotoCorp ongoing initiativesWhile it continues to dominate petrol-powered two-wheeler segment, Hero MotoCorp has started working proactively in EV space as well. It is apparent that the company wants to achieve a leading position in EV space as well. Hero MotoCorp has yet to launch its first EV, but that could change soon.The company is currently focusing on developing two-wheeler charging infrastructure across the country. It has tied up with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to set up charging stations for two-wheelers. These will cater to all EV brands and will not be limited to upcoming Hero MotoCorp EVs. The company believes that such infrastructure is urgently needed to achieve the shift to an all-electric ecosystem.Plan is to setup an extensive network of charging stations totalling around 7,000. BPCL is in the process of upgrading its existing retail outlets to support both EV charging as well as petrol/diesel refuelling. Such a vast network will be crucial, considering that the majority of the population relies on two-wheelers.With an eye on emerging opportunities, Hero MotoCorp has introduced changes to its organizational structure. Functions like marketing, sales, after-sales and parts business have been integrated into a single unit. Ranjivjit Singh will be heading this new unit in the position of Chief Growth Officer. He was earlier in charge of marketing at Hero MotoCorp.In other updates, Hero MotoCorp has been lending a helping hand to those impacted by Covid-19.
