      Just ahead of the start of festive season 2021, Hero MotoCorp is getting ready to launch an array of new and updated products in India. This includes models like Xpulse 200 4V, Pleasure Plus Xtec and Xtreme 200 4V. Ahead of their launch, Hero MotoCorp has now shared official launch teaser video of the new Pleasure Plus XTEC.
      Apart from this, the largest two-wheeler brand in the world is also planning to launch an updated version of Maestro Edge 125 which gets the company’s in-built telematics Hero Connect. This functionality is expected to be offered as a standard company-fitted feature in the models mentioned above.
      Addition of Hero Connect
      Currently, Hero offers Hero Connect as an official accessory in models such as Destini 125, Pleasure Plus, Pleasure Plus Platinum Edition, Xpulse 200 and Xtreme 160R at a price of Rs 4,999. Now, this creature comfort will also be extended to the Maestro Edge lineup as an optional kit.
      Hero Connect offers a wide range of smart features such as vehicle last location, onboard navigation, trip analysis, topple alert, live tracking, speed alert, geo-fencing and more. These new internet-connected features will help owners to track their vehicle better, resulting in an ease of ownership experience. Below is the new teaser video of the Pleasure Plus XTEC.

      From the latest spy shots, the scooter doesn’t appear to get any visual changes and is also unlikely to receive any changes underneath its skin. The prototype seen in these images is wrapped around a Prismatic Yellow paint scheme with shades of black colour on side panels and front apron.
      Specs & Features on offer
      In terms of dimensions, Maestro Edge 125 measures 1,843mm in length, 718mm in width and 1,139mm in height. Wheelbase of the scooter measures 1,261mm while it offers a ground clearance of 155mm. It weighs 111 kilos and offers a fuel tank capacity of 5 litres. Maestro Edge is also offered with a plethora of colour options some of which include funky decals and body graphics.
      Coming to specifications, it is powered by a 124.6cc single-cylinder air-cooled unit which kicks out 9 bhp at 7,000rpm and peak torque of 10.4Nm at 5,500rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a CVT gearbox. The scooter is suspended on telescopic forks up front and a mono-shock at rear.
      Braking hardware comprises drum brakes on both ends as standard with the option of a front disc. The braking system is equipped with Hero’s Integrated Braking System which is essentially a CBS. Other features on offer include a full-LED headlamp, optional USB charger and a fully digital instrument console compatible with Bluetooth connectivity. More

      Hero MotoCorp Sales Sep 2021 – Splendor, Passion, HF Deluxe, Destini, Pleasure

      World’s largest two wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp Sep 2021 sales report has been revealed. A total of 5.3 lakh two wheelers have been sold in Sep 2021. Of these, 5.05 lakh were sold in domestic market, while 25k were exported. Total motorcycle sales stood at 4.9 lakh while scooter sales were at 41k units in Sep 2021.

      In terms of YoY basis, Hero MotoCorp total sales have declined by almost 26%. Domestic sales are down by 28%, Motorcycle sales are down 26% and scooter sales are down 25%. What is in the green, are Hero MotoCorp exports – growing by a staggering 35% YoY.
      In terms of MoM basis, Hero MotoCorp sales have increased by an impressive 16%. Domestic numbers are up 17%, Motorcycle sales are up 16%, Scooter sales increased by 23% while exports too have increased, by 9%.
      Year to date sales are also in the green for Hero MotoCorp. From April 2021 to Sep 2021, total sales have crossed 24 lakh units. In the same period last year, sales were at 23.77 lakh units. Below is a detailed sales report of Hero MotoCorp for Sep 2021.

      Demand To Increase
      With the peak festive season upon us, Hero MotoCorp is optimistic regarding demand in the months to come. There are many reasons for this optimism. One of the most significant drivers is the company’s solid performance over the first few months of 2021. Another important factor in our outlook is that consumers are showing a real appetite for technological innovation.
      The company has taken advantage of this trend by updating tech and convenience features, which have already proven popular with consumers. We also expect demand to be boosted by consumer caution given recent global economic volatility and uncertainty following Covid-19 pandemic.
      New launches are planned next week.       New Hero Xpulse, Xtreme Stealth, Pleasure Plus XTEC – Leaks Before Launch

      Constant updates to product lineup are key to a thriving business in the Indian automotive market for OEMs. Therefore, despite leading the two-wheeler market in the country for decades, Hero MotoCorp has been regularly updating its two-wheeler lineup with new models or new variants.
      A few months ago, Hero launched a range-topping variant of its 125cc commuter called Glamour Xtec. The model came with class-leading features over the standard models and at a premium price as well. The bikemaker will soon launch a similar top-spec variant of Pleasure Plus as images of the upcoming scooter from a dealer meet have leaked online.
      In addition the Pleasure Plus X-Tec, Hero will also launch new Xpulse 200 as well as Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition. Both these motorcycles were also spied at the dealer meet. Xpulse 200 will be seen with new colours, more powerful 4V engine while Xtreme 160R will get the Stealth colour scheme, which was also seen on the Maestro 125. These new editions will help Hero increase sales this festive season.
      Hero Pleasure Plus X-TEC – Dimensions & Expected Features
      In terms of design, the upcoming Pleasure Plus Xtec is every bit identical to the standard model. It also shares identical dimensions of the entry-level scooter. It measures a length of 1,769mm, a width of 704mm, stands 1,161mm tall and offers a wheelbase of 1,238mm. The scooter gets a ground clearance of 155mm and weighs daily nimble at only 106kg.
      New Hero Pleasure Plus XTEC
      The primary highlight of this new scooter will be the rich equipment which is likely to offer additional features such as a fully digital instrument console compatible with Bluetooth connectivity. The console can read out data from the speedometer, tachometer, odometer, gear position indicator, service due indicator and RTMI.
      Apart from these, the new Xtech variant of Pleasure Plus will offer first-in-segment Turn-by-Turn navigation, Integrated USB Charger as well as Side-Stand Engine cut-off and Bank Angle Sensor. Hero could also carry forward the i3S start/stop technology offered in other two-wheelers from the brand. Also, it is expected to offer LED headlights and LED DRLs in the package.
      Styling & Colour Options
      As of now, Pleasure Plus is offered in eight paint schemes including Polestar Blue, Matte Black, Matte Green, Matte Metallic Red, Midnight Black, Pearl Silver White, Sporty Red and Matte Vernier Gray. The prototype in the latest spy shots is seen wearing the yellow colour scheme. The scooter rides on black alloy wheels with a yellow-coloured rim.
      New Hero Xtreme Stealth
      To make it a more premium affair, Hero will be offering Pleasure Plus Xtec chrome embellishments on headlamp bezel, front apron, rearview mirrors and exhaust heat shield. A pillion backrest will also be carried forward. It is expected to be launched in the coming few weeks at the peak of the festive season.
      Engine Specs
      Powering the range-topping trim of Pleasure Plus will be the same 110.9 cc single-cylinder air-cooled OHC four-stroke fuel-injected engine that pushes out 8 bhp and a peak torque of 8.7 Nm. The powertrain, as usual, will be linked to a CVT gearbox. Currently, Pleasure Plus is priced between Rs 62,940 and Rs 67,550 (ex-showroom) while the upcoming Xtech variant could be priced Rs 4,000 higher than the current top-end trim of Pleasure Plus.
      New Hero Xtreme Stealth

      In terms of features, it is not far behind other motorcycles. It is the only bike in its segment which gets an all-LED lighting setup,i.e. An LED headlamp, an LED taillamp and LED indicators. It is equipped with an inverted LCD console, side-stand engine cut-off, hazard lights and a segment-first Auto Sail technology which allows the bike to easily glide in traffic at low speeds.
      Coming to its most crucial aspect- performance, it is powered by a BS6 compliant 163cc single-cylinder fuel-injected motor which hurls out 15 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. This unit is linked to a 5-speed gearbox. Unlike most modern motorcycles, the Xtreme offers a kick-starter in addition to a standard starter motor. At 139.5 kg kerb weight it has one of the strongest power to weight ratios in the segment which helps it accelerate 0-60 kmph in just 4.7 seconds.

      Hero Xpulse 200 Topple Alert Feature Launched – Automatic Notification To Contacts

      First introduced with cars, connected tech has made its way to two-wheelers as well. With growing preference among consumers, many scooters and motorcycles now offer dedicated connectivity platforms. These usually work via a mobile app.
      Xpulse 200 Topple Alert feature
      India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by volume, Hero MotoCorp had introduced its connectivity platform called Hero Connect in February last year. At that time, it was offered at Rs 4,999 for select models for one year subscription. It was available at dealerships in select cities.
      Hero Connect offers a range of connectivity features. The Topple Alert feature is now available with Xpulse 200. What it does is that an automatic app notification and SMS is sent to emergency contacts in case the motorcycle topples. Notification is also sent to the registered mobile number. Users can select emergency contacts that they want to be notified in case the vehicle topples.
      This feature can be a life saver, as timely medical help is crucial in case of an accident. Upon receiving the vehicle topple notification, emergency contacts can respond quickly to the situation. Medical help can be requested in case the situation demands. Topple Alert feature will also work to ensure peace of mind for the rider’s loved ones.

      Hero has plans to introduce Hero Connect platform to other products as well. It will be made available at more dealerships and cities in the future. Since it is not cheap, especially in the context of commuter segment, Hero Connect platform will continue to be offered as an option. It is currently available for Xtreme 160R, Xpulse 200, Destini 125, Pleasure+ and Pleasure+ Platinum.
      Hero Connect other features
      Hero Connect system utilizes telematics hardware that includes an embedded e-SIM. It can communicate with the cellular network to establish a link between the device and application. With Hero Connect, users can track their vehicle in real-time. The path taken by the vehicle is clearly displayed and its speed is recorded.
      Another key vehicle safety feature is tow away alert. This notifies the user in case an unauthorized movement of vehicle is detected. This can help in preventing vehicle thefts. Geo-fence alert is available, wherein notification is sent to the user in case the vehicle goes beyond a pre-determined geographical area. Another useful feature is Hero Locate that helps people to find their vehicle at parking locations. This feature is supported via Google Maps.
      A number of reports can be accessed using Hero Connect platform. For example, details about a particular trip such as route selected, time taken, distance travelled, etc. can be accessed. The app can store details of all trips for last six months. Hero Connect can analyse riding behaviour and inform the user in case there are issues with their riding style. Users can set speed limit and receive notification in case the limit is exceeded. More

      Hero Price List Sep 2021 – Splendor, Passion, Deluxe, Pleasure, Maestro, Destini

      India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp has increased prices of its scooters and motorcycles at least three times this year. These were mostly due to increasing commodity prices.
      While manufacturers try to absorb much of the increased production cost, there comes a time when some of it has to be passed on to customers. In the latest round of price hike, Hero has increased prices by around Rs 3k. The new prices have been applicable from September 20th.

      India’s favourite commuter bike and the company’s top selling product, Splendor prices have been increased for select variants. For example, Splendor Plus Self/Drum/Alloy now costs Rs 67,160 as compared to Rs 66,050 earlier.
      Similarly, prices have been increased for Splendor iSmart Drum/Alloy, Splendor Plus 100 Million Edition, Splendor Plus Black and Accent Self/Drum/Alloy and Super Splendor variants. Overall, the Splendor range is costlier by up to Rs 1,700. Prices of select Splendor variants, especially the base-spec models, have not been increased.

      Other motorcycles that have become costlier include Xpulse 200, Xpulse 200T, and Xtreme 200S. Xpulse 200 and 200T have become costlier by Rs 2,350 each. New prices are Rs 1,23,150 and Rs 1,20,650, respectively. Hero Xtreme 200S now costs Rs 1,27,364, an increase of Rs 3,350. Prices of these three motorcycles were increased earlier this year in April as well. At that time, the price hike was Rs 3k for each of these motorcycles.

      Hero will soon launch Xpulse with a new, more powerful 4-valve engine. The current unit has a 2-valve head setup. A 4-valve system improves combustion, thereby improving performance and torque output. Fuel efficiency can also be increased with a 4-valve engine. Xpulse 4V will also get cosmetic updates such as new colour options and graphics.
      In its current form, Xpulse is powered by a 200cc, oil cooled motor that makes 17.8 bhp at 8500 rpm and 16.45 Nm at 6500 rpm. It is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission. This engine is shared by Xpulse 200T and Xtreme 200S.

Hero Maestro Edge 125 prices have been increased in the range of Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,150. The highest price hike is for Maestro Edge 125 Alloy Disc Prismatic Plus Connected variant that now costs Rs 81,900.
      Destini 125 prices have been increased in the range of Rs 750 to Rs 1,200. Destini 125 Alloy Drum VX Platinum now costs Rs 75,900. Prices of Pleasure Plus are up by Rs 1,350 to Rs 1,450. Pleasure Plus Platinum Alloy Drum ZX variant is available at Rs 66,400.

      Hero Xpulse 200 New Colour Spied Testing With More Powerful Engine

      New Hero Xpulse 200 4VHero Xpulse is the most affordable adventure tourer in India with only one direct rival in the form of the Honda CB200X
      Hero could be credited for kick-starting the entry-level adventure motorcycling space in the mass two-wheeler market of India. They launched the Impulse about 8 years ago. But had to discontinue the same due to poor demand. Based on the Impulse formula, came the Xpulse in 2019. It was first showcased as a prototype at the EICMA in Milan, Italy in 2017 and is now the most affordable ADV bike in India.
      However, the motorcycle has also drawn flak for being underpowered for this segment. Hero wants to address this by bringing a more powerful engine for Xpulse. A test mule powered by this motor has recently been spotted testing. The main highlight of this motor is the addition of a 4-valve head instead of the existing two-valve head.
      Styling Updates
      The latest test mule has been seen wearing a brand new colour scheme with a livery that features ‘4-Valve’ decals on the lower side of the fuel tank. The dual-tone paint option gets a blue colour which is complemented by blacked-out side panels, tail section and tank shrouds.
      Additionally, the engine and gearbox assembly, heat shield and part of the exhaust canister have been painted in a grey shade. Splashes of blue are also seen on the wire-spoked rims of the upcoming Xpulse.

      Powertrain Update
      Apart from all these updates, the new Xpulse is visually the same as the current model. However, with the 4-Valve system, cylinder head of the engine would now get more valves which will pump more air-fuel mixture into the combustion chamber. This will allow more fuel to be burnt, thus enabling it to extract more performance. It also allows the engine to breathe better which translates into higher fuel efficiency.
      In its current iteration, Xpulse 200 is powered by a 199.6cc, oil-cooled, 2-valve, fuel-injected engine which returns an output of 17.8 bhp at 8,500rpm and 16.45 Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This unit is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In its BS4 form, this motor came with a simple air cooler which has been upgraded to an oil-cooling system.
      Mechanical Specs & Features
      There shouldn’t be any more changes to its specifications. The motorcycle will continue to roll on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic units at front with 190mm of travel and a 10-step adjustable mono-shock at rear with 170mm of travel. Braking hardware comprises disc brakes at both ends accompanied with a single-channel ABS.
      It will be interesting to see if Hero offers some additional features in the new Xpulse 4V. Currently, it offers a full-LED headlamp and a digital instrument console enabled with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and call alerts. It is also expected to be offered at a slightly premium price in comparison to the current model priced at Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

      Hero MotoCorp Electric Scooters Launch Next Year – Chetak, Ather Rival

      Hero MotoCorp will be venturing into the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing space by launching its first battery-powered two-wheeler in March 2022. This development has been confirmed by CFO of the brand, Niranjan Gupta in an interaction with PTI. It has also come to light that this electric scooter has been developed independently by Hero.
      Last month, chairman and CEO of Hero MotoCorp, Dr. Pawan Munjal, teased a pre-production prototype of the upcoming electric scooter during the company’s 10th anniversary celebration live stream recently. While no details of this scooter were revealed during the event, it gave us a rough idea of what to expect from the upcoming e-scooter.
      On the other hand, Hero is also planning to launch its second electric scooter by the second half of next year. This two-wheeler will be developed in association with Taiwan-based EV manufacturer Gogoro. The two brands announced a partnership earlier this year which involved the use of battery swapping technology in upcoming electric two-wheelers.
      Design of e-scooter
      Coming back to the indigenously developed two-wheeler, it is an all-new electric scooter wearing a distinct design. For starters, the scooter appears to stand on 12-inch front and 10-inch rear black alloy wheels which look sporty. In all probability, it will be powered by a mid-ship mounted electric motor since the rear wheel did not feature a hub-mounted motor.

      Unlike the Gogoro electric scooters patented in India a few months ago, the e-scooter from Hero MotoCorp misses out on double-sided swingarms. Black embellishments on the handlebar, side and rear fenders and floorboard give the scooter a dual-tone colour theme that looks very sporty. Other notable styling highlights include a short flyscreen, a long split seat and curvy bodywork. The pillion seat is detachable which is intended for use in last-mile services.
      Separate brand name for EV lineup
      More details on the upcoming electric scooter will hopefully be revealed ahead of its launch in the next few months. However, the company has a lot to figure out before launching its first battery-powered model.
      As previously revealed, the company cannot use the brand ‘Hero’ for its EV lineup since this right has been held by Hero Electric, a separate EV manufacturing entity. Hero MotoCorp is yet to decide on a brand name for its dedicated electric vehicle (EV) vertical.
      Gogoro Electric Scooter name patented in India
      Upon its launch, the upcoming e-scooter from Hero will compete against a raft of other electric scooters such as Ather 450X, Ola S1, Bajaj Chetak, Simple One and TVS iQube. The company CFO also revealed that the recent shortage of semiconductor chips has had no effect on production of two-wheelers.       Hero MotoCorp To Launch Retro-Style Harley Davidson Motorcycle In India

      India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer- Hero MotoCorp will soon tap into the premium segment of motorcycles by launching a retro-style bike with Harley Davidson branding. Around the same time last year, the latter quit sales and assembly operations in India after a decade-long unfruitful business in the country.
      The iconic American brand forged an alliance with the Indian two-wheeler giant in October last year. As per this alliance, the local firm will handle exclusive sales and distribution of Harley Davidson motorcycles, parts and merchandise in the country in the foreseeable future. However, there is more to this partnership than just distribution and retail.
      New Retro Motorcycle Under H-D Brand
      In an interaction with PTI, Hero MotoCorp CFO Niranjan Gupta revealed that there are two legs to the Harley tie-up strategy. The first one being the sales distributors for Harley motorcycles in India which currently includes 14 dealers in around 30 touchpoints. The second part of the strategy is to develop motorcycles indigenously which will carry the Harley Davidson nameplate. This will start with a new retro-style motorcycle, most probably in the mid-displacement segment.
      Gupta highlighted that the retro segment is almost one-third of the overall premium segment out of the profit pool. He further revealed that development of the upcoming motorcycle under the Harley Davidson brand is in full swing. As of now, there are no details available regarding the upcoming motorcycle but hopefully, in the near future some light is thrown on its development.

      Hero expects tie-up with Harley-Davidson would help it accelerate its presence in the premium motorcycle segment where it aims to establish a complete portfolio cutting across segments and engine capacities. Gupta further confirmed that Hero’s first electric two-wheeler will be launched next year.
      Harley Davidson Pan America 1250
      Earlier this year, Hero MotoCorp started accepting bookings for 13 Harley Davidson models in India with prices commencing at Rs 10 lakh and going up to Rs 35 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). Around 100 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, constituting the first batch assigned to the Indian market this year, have been completely pre-booked.
      Last month the American bikemaker launched Pan America 1250 in India which is the company’s first proper adventure motorcycle in its portfolio. The new Pan America has been priced at Rs 16.90 lakh for the base Standard variant and at Rs 19.19 lakh for the Special (both prices ex-showroom).
      Both variants come in with a range of colour options that include Gauntlet Gray Metallic, Vivid Black, River Rock Gray, Two-Tone Baja Orange / Stone Washed White Pearl. It directly competes against premium adventure motorcycles such as BMW R 1250 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4. More
