If we look at top 10 scooter list for the month of June 2022, Activa alone sells more than second highest to ninth highest selling vehicles combined. This says a lot about the scooter market in India.New Hero 125cc Scooter – Sporty DesignHero has scooters in its portfolio that rival Honda Activa series. At the lower end of the spectrum, Hero has Pleasure which is a 110cc scooter and at the top tier, it has Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125. But as sales figures indicate, both 125cc scooters from Hero are not in top 10.It is not that Hero’s 125cc engine doesn’t have any sauce: It does. It makes 9 bhp of power and 10.4 Nm of torque. This engine is also mated to Hero’s proprietary i3S technology which enables a stop/start feature improving fuel efficiency. It is the style, form factor and character that both the Destini 125 and Maestro Edge 125 lacked. That’s where the new sporty scooter comes into play.New Hero 125cc Scooter SpiedThanks to Shifting-Gears, a new Hero scooter has been spied under testing with heavy camouflage. This new scooter dons a much more sporty and edgy design than the current scooters on sale by Hero. It gets an LED headlight set up on the front fascia like NTorq, RayZR and Avenis instead of on the handlebar like Activa, Jupiter and Access. This gives it a sporty appeal and enhances looks further, is an interesting LED DRL pattern. It is likely to be powered by 125cc engine.New Hero Scooter – Features & LaunchIt also gets storage compartments below the instrument console like other Hero scooters and will also get USB phone charging too. This upcoming scooter gets a switchable i3S button on the right switch gear. At the rear, it gets an ‘X’ shaped LED tail-light and normal halogen turn indicators.Hero should have given a smoked effect to the tail-light cover as they did with Xtreme 160R making it look sportier. A glaring omission on this scooter according to us, is an external fuel filler cap which would drastically aid user comfort while refueling.New Hero 125cc Scooter SpiedSuspension setup is a normal telescopic unit at front and twin shockers at the rear. Hero 125cc sporty scooter might get 12” wheels that are machine cut alloys in this top-spec trim along with a front disc brake too. We can expect steel wheels and drum brakes with lower variants. We also expect Hero to give the XTec system on this scooter too. The instrumentation screen is new which is a rectangular fully-digital LCD panel with expected features like trip meters, odometer, clock, fuel-level indicator and Bluetooth connectivity with notifications and turn-by-turn navigation.Hero MotoCorp has not revealed any details about this upcoming scooter yet. But it could be launched around the festive season and is likely to be priced on par with Maestro Edge. The factor fitted rally kit comprises three sub-kits, tyres, suspension and ergonomics. Just like the earlier Rally Kit for Xpulse 2V, wherein sub-kits were available for sale separately, the same approach will be utilized this time too. Individual prices of the sub-kits will be announced in coming months.One of the key upgrades in Xpulse 4V Rally Edition is adjustable cartridge front suspension with 250 mm of travel and pre-load adjustable rear suspension with 220 mm of travel. The kit also has handlebar risers. In comparison, the stock version of Xpulse 4V has suspension travel of 190 mm at front and 170 mm at rear. The improved suspension will enhance control and handling as well as reduce rider fatigue.2022 Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally EditionTyre kit has Maxxis tyres at front and rear, which are designed to improve grip and stability. With the improved suspension and tyres, ground clearance has been increased to 275 mm. This again makes the bike a better off-roader.       Hero MotoCorp has launched Rally Edition with factory fitted Rally Kit on Xuplse 200 4V2022 Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition LaunchedAfter the Impulse, Hero returned to the genre with XPulse 200 which was a sequel to the company’s adventure-tourer saga. It was designed as an off-roader first and then given some touring capabilities. Hence, it was not a fast cruiser. This was worked on in the BS6 model and bettered even further with the launch of XPulse 200 4V.Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the Rally Edition at an event recently. In the past, Hero tried to give a taste of a proper rally bike on its XPulse adventure tourer in the form of a Rally Kit for Rs. 38,000. It had fully-adjustable front and rear suspension with longer travel, 5mm more ground clearance, hence a longer stand, handle-bar risers, rally-spec seat and rally-spec Maxxis knobby tyres.2022 Hero XPulse Rally EditionFront suspension had 30-click compression settings and 30-click rebound settings. The front suspension can now travel up to 250mm which is 60mm more than stock. The rear suspension gets adjustability in terms of rebound and preload and can travel 220mm which is 50mm more than stock.For reference, its closest rival Royal Enfield Himalayan gets 200mm suspension travel at front and 180mm at the rear. The new Rally kit, however, adds preload adjustability with cartridge-style forks at front and takes the ground clearance to a whopping 275mm.2022 Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition LaunchedRally Edition which is expected to launch soon is believed to get further upgrades, but straight out of the factory. For starters, Rally Edition will be a slightly larger motorcycle than the XPulse 200 4V with a rally kit. Rally Edition will get a longer wheelbase of 1427mm which is 17mm longer than the stock bike and 8mm longer than XPulse 200 with Rally Kit. With a long wheelbase, we also get 33mm greater overall length and 62mm greater overall height than stock XPulse 200 4V.In terms of design, Rally Edition gets a slightly reworked fuel tank with red and gold accents which make the bike look more handsome. Another notable aspect is that Rally Edition doesn’t get the rally-spec seat offered with Rally Kit. Hero XPulse 200 Rally Edition is expected to be a lot more capable than the stock bike and also its main competitor Himalayan.New Rally Kit & PriceThe new Rally Kit that will be sold is an upgrade over the old kit. It gets better components seeking out more capability. This new Rally Kit is for all existing XPulse 200 owners and for those who want to buy the stock bike now and maybe upgrade it later as they start to crave more off-road ability. While Rally Edition will be kitted out right from the factory.2022 Hero Xpulse 200 4V Rally Edition LaunchedNew Rally Kit is priced at Rs. 46,000. But they’re no slouch, it’s just that the sales magnitude of budget commuters in India completely overshadows the rest of the lineup.In this latest Hero MotoCorp price hike, their cheapest motorcycles are the ones to get the highest hike. Hero HF 100 and HF Deluxe are their most affordable motorcycles. Hero HF 100 gets a 7.7% hike amounting to Rs. 4,000 and HF Deluxe gets a 6.81% hike amounting to Rs. 3,820. Now, HF 100 costs Rs. 55,450 and HF Deluxe costs Rs. 59,890 (ex-sh, Delhi).Hero Motorcycle Prices July 2022 – New vs OldPricier bikes belonging to XPulse series have been hiked by Rs. 3,628 and Xtreme 160R by around Rs. 2,800. Latest prices of Splendor ranges from Rs 70,408 to Rs 71,728 while Super Splendor is priced from Rs 77,200.Hero Passion Pro series got Rs. 1,500 hike, and now ranges from Rs 72,320 to Rs 77,120. In terms of motorcycles, HF 100 and HF Deluxe received the highest hike and Splendor series get the lowest.Hero Scooter Prices July 2022Coming to the Hero MotoCorp scooter prices in July 2022, Pleasure+ XTEC variants got the highest hike of Rs. 1,630 and Destini 125 STD only received a hike of Rs. 300. In a recent ruling by the Delhi High Court, Hero MotoCorp has been granted permission to use the ‘Hero ’trademark for selling its electric vehicle lineup.Hero Moto Vs Hero Electric – RulingThe tribunal, which consisted of former Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and retired judges Indu Malhotra and Indermeet Kaur observed that Hero MotoCorp had claimed the use of ‘Hero’ for its upcoming electric vehicle lineup since 2012. The company is now close to launch of its electric vehicles under brand name ‘Vida – powered by Hero’.Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand will house all electric vehicle initiatives and the company has even filed a patent for names such as Vida, Vida MotoCorp, Vida EV, Vida Electric, Vida Scooters and Vida Motorcycles for its EV endeavor.Hero Electric Scooter Optima HXThe Tribunal took into account the fact that Hero MotoCorp had spent over Rs 7,000 crores to enhance goodwill and gain reputation of the ‘Hero’ brand over the past 10 years as compared to Rs 65 crores which had been invested by the Naveen Munjal Group to promote ‘Hero Electric’.The Tribunal also noted that Hero MotoCorp had also made hefty investments to the tune of Rs 400 crores into their VIDA project along with investments made in Ather Energy, the Bengaluru based company for its fast charging technology. Hero owns 38 percent in this company and both firms are developing fast charging infrastructure.Good News For Hero MotoCorpThis ruling will boost Hero MotoCorp’s confidence, ahead of the launch of their first electric scooter later this year. Imagine if Hero Moto had to sell their electric scooters without the brand Hero or their existing dealership network. That would have been a nightmare for the No 1 motorcycle brand in the world.Hero MotoCorp Electric Scooter – Under VIDA BrandAs much as this is good news for Hero MotoCorp, it is bad news for Hero Electric, who is one of the leading electric scooter manufacturer in India. By default, most in the country mean Hero MotoCorp, when they refer to a Hero vehicle.       Hero MotoCorp Sales June 2022 – Splendor, Passion, Deluxe, Maestro

Total sales during April-June 2022 were at 13,90,193 units, as compared to 10,24,507 units in the corresponding period last year. Quarterly MoM growth has improved by 17%, as compared to 11.89 lakh units sold in January-March 2022.Both motorcycles and scooters have registered positive YoY growth in Q1 FY 2022-23. Motorcycle sales were at 13,06,294 units, as compared to 9,59,589 units in the corresponding period last year. Scooter sales have improved from 64,918 to 83,899 units.Hero MotoCorp June 2022 salesIn June 2022, Hero MotoCorp registered sales of 4,84,867 units. This is positive YoY growth, as compared to 4,69,160 units sold in the corresponding period last year. The growth is on account of higher motorcycle sales. A total of 4,61,421 units were sold in June 2022, as compared to 4,41,536 units in June last year. Scooter sales have registered negative growth, down from 27,624 units in June last year to 23,446 units in June 2022.While domestic sales have registered strong growth, Hero MotoCorp exports numbers are down in Q1 FY 2022-23. Exports are at 62,027 units, as compared to 83,800 units in the corresponding period last year. In June too, exports numbers were down from 30,646 units to 21,657 units. To boost overseas operations, Hero MotoCorp has launched Euro-5 compliant versions of XPulse 200 4V motorcycle and Dash 110 & Dash 125 scooters. These are available for sale in Turkiye.Hero MotoCorp Sales June 2022In domestic market, the company launched the new Passion XTEC variant that packs in a range of updates. It includes features such as full digital instrument cluster, first in segment projector LED headlamp, real-time mileage indicator, service reminder, side stand indicator with engine cut off function, low fuel indicator, Bluetooth connectivity and SMS and call alerts. Earlier, the company had launched the Splendor XTEC variant with the same set of features.Hero MotoCorp expects sales momentum to continue in coming months.
