Teasers are out now and the bike is scheduled to be launched on 29th Aug 2023.This is the era of resurrected bikes, with names like Jawa and Yezdi already gaining decent fan following. Something similar is being planned in case of Karizma. In its heyday, the original 223cc Karizma was a true delight for enthusiasts owing to its peppy performance.New Karizma to return2023 Hero Karizma styling and featuresNew Karizma utilizes a unified, single-layer side fairing that extends all the way to the headlamp. The panels have a chiselled profile and unique design, unlike any other Hero bike currently in production. The side fairing only covers a small section of the engine assembly, keeping much of the machine parts exposed. It makes it easy to get an idea about the bike’s new engine.With youngsters one of the main target audience, new Hero Karizma is expected to get some exciting colour options. There could be monotone as well as dual-tone colour options on offer. The one unveiled at the dealer event had a bright glossy red paint job. It is possible that this new engine will eventually be made available with Xpulse as well.       Hero MotoCorp Sales June 2023 – Declines YoY and MoM

      New Hero SplendorHero MotoCorp has posted a YoY de-growth both in terms of domestic sales and exports in June 2023 while YTD sales also ended in the negativeHero MotoCorp, a leader in the two wheeler segment, has ended the month of June 2023 in red. Their sales have fallen sharply both on YoY and MoM basis while YTD sales also ended in the negative.The company has reported total sales (domestic + exports) at 4,36,993 units in June 2023, down 9.87 percent from 4,84,867 units sold in June 2022. This was a 47,874 unit volume de-growth. MoM sales also ended at a 15.88 percent de-growth down from 5,19,474 units sold in May 2023.Hero MotoCorp Sales June 2023In terms of domestic sales, while the company posted positive growth in scooter sales, motorcycle sales dipped 12.34 percent to 4,04,474 units in June 2023. This was a 12.34 percent YoY de-growth from 4,61,421 units sold in June 2022. MoM sales also fell by 17.34 percent from 4,89,336 units sold in May 2023.Motorcycle share fell to 92.56 percent in June 2023 from 94.20 percent held in May 2023. Again taking into account motorcycle YTD sales in FY 2024, it was a 3.34 percent de-growth to 12,62,640 units, down 3.34 percent from 13,06,294 units sold in FY 2023.Hero MotoCorp sales June 2023Scooter sales on the other hand received more positive from buyers in India. Sales grew 38.70 percent YoY to 32,519 units in the past month, up from 23,446 units sold in June 2022. MoM sales improved by 7.90 percent from 30,138 units sold in May 2023 to currently command a 7.44 percent share. Scooter sales on a YTD basis has also seen a 7.19 percent growth to 89,934 units in the FY24 period from 83,899 units sold in the same period last year.Total domestic sales (motorcycles + scooters) thus stood at 4,22,757 units in June 2023, down 8.73 percent compared to 4,63,210 units sold in June 2022. It was also a MoM de-growth of 16.83 percent as against 5,08,309 units sold in May 2023. YTD total domestic sales fell marginally by 0.82 percent to 13,17,250 units in FY24 period from 13,28,166 units sold in the FY23 period thus relating to a 10,916 unit volume de-growth.Exports fell 34.27 percent YoY to 14,236 units in June 2023, down from 21,657 units shipped in June 2023 while there had been 11,165 units exported in May 2023 relating to a 27.51 percent MoM growth. Exports in FY24 fell sharply by 43.05 percent to 35,326 units from 62,027 units sold in FY23New Products in Hero MotoCorp PortfolioThe automaker is now optimistic of its new premium motorcycle being brought out in association with Harley Davidson. The new Harley-Davidson X440 neo retro roadster is being launched in India on July 3, 2023.       Hero SplendorHero MotoCorp posted an 8.97 percent YoY growth in domestic sales with the Splendor commanding a 67.39 percent shareHero MotoCorp continued to lead the two wheeler segment in terms of sales in May 2023. Sales figures improved in domestic markets while exports fell substantially on a YoY basis. There were several factors that brought about this growth in domestic markets. Improved buyer sentiments and a timely and abundant monsoon season are primary reasons for this increase.Total sales (domestic + exports) in the past month stood at 5,19,458 units, up from 4,86,674 units sold in May 2022. Sales in domestic markets improved by 8.97 percent YoY to 5,08,293 units in May 2023, up from 4,66,438 units sold in May 2022. This was a volume growth of 41,855 units. It was also a MoM growth over 3,86,173 units sold in April 2023.Hero MotoCorp Domestic Sales May 2023Hero Splendor continued to command the domestic sales list with a 67.39 percent share. It was the only model other than the Xpulse 200 to record YoY sales growth, while Xoom 110 cc scooter is a recent entrant along with the Vida e-scooter. Sales of the Splendor improved 30.61 percent to 3,42,526 units in May 2023, up from 2,62,249 units sold in May 2022 relating to an 80,277 unit volume growth.YoY de-growth was reported for the Hero HF Deluxe which dipped 14.32 percent to 1,09,100 units in May 2023 from 1,27,330 units sold in May 2022. It currently commands a 21.46 percent share in the company portfolio. Sales of Hero Glamour also fell by 44.03 percent to 15,875 units, down from 28,363 units sold in May 2022. The Hero Xoom 110cc scooter is a relatively new entrant, launched in January 2023. Sales stood at 13,377 units in the past month.Hero MotoCorp sales and exports – May 2023Sales de-growth was also seen for the Hero Pleasure, down 60.99 percent to 7,229 units in May 2023 from 18,531 units sold in May 2022 while sales of Destini 125 dipped by 36.98 percent to 6,864 units in the past month. Hero Xpulse 200 sales improved on a YoY basis by 19.48 percent to 4,159 units as against 3,481 units sold in May 2022. The sales list also included the Passion (3,678 units), Xtreme 160/200 (3,555 units) and Maestro (1,570 units) along with 360 units of the Vida electric scooter.Hero Exports May 2023Exports of Hero MotoCorp dipped 44.83 percent YoY in May 2023. Total exports stood at 11,165 units in the past month, down from 20,236 units sold in May 2022. It was a MoM growth from 9,929 units shipped in April 2023. All models except for Hero Glamour and Maestro posted a YoY de-growth. Glamour exports improved by 32.68 percent to 2,996 units in May 2023, up from 2,258 units shipped in May 2022 to command a 26.83 percent share.Splendor at No. 2 posted a 58.29 percent YoY degrowth to 2,773 units last month from 6,648 units exported in May 2022 while Hero Hunk sales dipped 36.79 percent to 1,739 units from 2,751 units YoY. Exports also fell for the HF Deluxe by 69.78 percent to 1,653 units and for the Xpulse 200 by 48.68 percent to 1,086 units. Maestro sales improved by 22.43 percent to 666 units in May 2023 from 544 units shipped in May 2022 but Passion exports fell by 60 percent to just 180 units from 450 units shipped in the same month of last year. There was also the Hero Destini on the export list with 72 units shipped in the past month.Upcoming / Recent LaunchesThe company has also introduced new models such as Hero Splendor 125cc XTEC and more recently the Passion Pro Plus, both of which have been well received. Earlier this month, Hero MotoCorp also updated its 100cc motorcycle range with the new HF Deluxe Canvas Black Edition. The new Harley X440 Roadster is also opened for booking. As the test mule looks near-production ready, it won’t be surprising to see its launch around festive season or by end of this year. The mirrors could offer a wider field of vision, although they do not suffer from excessive vibration. The front brake could have smoother operation, avoiding the false sensation of braking occurring prematurely. The placement and angle of the USB port could be more conducive to preventing cable bending and potential failure over time. The instrument cluster, while impressive in the dark, suffers from low brightness during daylight, making it challenging to read under sunlight. Additionally, the awkward tilt angle of the cluster exacerbates the issue.
