New Hero Maxi Scooter Spied Testing – Aerox 155 Rival?

New Hero Maxi Scooter SpiedConsidering the maxi-scooter’s brawny proportions, the 163cc engine from Xtreme 160R seems like a perfect matchWith recent launch of Xtreme 160R 4V and upcoming Karizma fully-faired bike, it is evident that Hero MotoCorp has stepped up focus on premium segment. The company seems to be following a similar strategy for its scooter portfolio as well. Earlier this month, a design patent had revealed details about Hero’s new maxi-scooter.In the latest development, a maxi-scooter in camouflage has been spotted near Hero MotoCorp’s R&D centre in Jaipur. It appears to be largely the same as the scooter revealed in the design patent. As the test mule looks near-production ready, it won’t be surprising to see its launch around festive season or by end of this year. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Pushpender for sharing these exclusive spy shots.New Hero Maxi Scooter SpiedHero maxi-scooter featuresSome of the key highlights of Hero’s first-ever maxi-scooter include split headlamp setup, angular front fascia, trendy rear view mirrors and sharp turn indicators. An all-LED lighting setup is likely for the scooter. It can be seen with a stubby upswept exhaust. Side panels have sharp design elements, which help achieve a sporty profile for the scooter.Raked design of the stepped seat ensures a sporty stance, all while allowing optimal control and handling across busy city streets. The single-piece seat seems comfortable for both rider and pillion. The test mule is missing the rear rack that was seen in the design patent. It is likely that the rear rack will be offered as an accessory. The scooter is equipped with an ergonomically placed handlebar.New Hero Maxi Scooter SpiedAlthough not clear in the images, it is likely that Hero’s new maxi-scooter will have a fully digital instrument console. It could get telematics features, accessible via Hero Connect mobile app. Some of the key telematics features could include ignition alert, SoS alert, accident/crash alert, topple alert, over-speed alert, theft alert, battery removal alert, geofence alert and remote immobilization.Hero maxi-scooter performance, specsHero’s maxi-scooter could be a rival to Yamaha Aerox 155. In that case, it could borrow the 163 cc, air-cooled engine from Xtreme 160R. It generates 15 bhp of max power and 14 Nm of peak torque. Some tweaks could be performed to align the engine with the specific needs of the scooter. For reference, Aerox 155 is equipped with a 155cc, liquid cooled engine. It makes 15 PS and 13.9 Nm.Hero new maxi-scooter has telescopic forks at front and a single-sided monoshock unit at rear. It gets a disc brake at front. Single-channel ABS could be offered as standard. One of the most notable features is the large alloy wheels, which appear to be 14-inch units. Large wheels not only improve street presence, but also offer smoother and safer rides across bad patches. To push sales, Hero could offer its first-ever maxi-scooter at an affordable price. While Aerox 155 is available at a starting price of Rs 1.43 lakh, Hero maxi scooter could be launched at around Rs 1.20 lakh (ex.sh). More

2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review – Defying Expectations, Embracing Adventure

New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V ReviewA Close Look at the Upgraded Design and Performance – 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V ReviewIntroducing the 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V – A motorcycle that has the potential to emerge as the true champion of its segment. With a design that exudes a hint of Bajaj-inspired flair, this upgraded version of the Xtreme 160R boasts an impressive addition of two extra valves. A key differentiator that sets it apart from its predecessor.Hero has meticulously engineered its efforts into crafting a package that not only meets but exceeds the expectations of today’s discerning buyers in this competitive segment. Let’s delve into the intricate details of this bike and explore if it outshines its rivals.New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V: Embodying Style and Functionality for the Gen Z BuyerThe Hero Xtreme 160R 4V immediately captivates with its dynamic design, which elegantly blends elements reminiscent of Bajaj motorcycles. When bathed in sunlight, its contours come alive, leaving an impression. In a conversation with a Gen Z buyer looking for a bike in the 150cc segment, the focus is on finding a bike with a cool and trendy appearance. The customer seeks a bike with vibrant and funky colours, muscular craftsmanship, and a sporty appeal. They desire a headlamp that resembles those found on higher-displacement bikes, a kickass belly pan, and inverted forks that are visibly large, creating the illusion of a more powerful cc machine approaching.New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V ReviewThey are drawn to a thick exhaust, similar to the Dominar, and insist on a split seat design that looks striking, with a significant step where they can position themselves. Additionally, they express the need for a digital instrument console in a dark theme, complete with Bluetooth connectivity to a smartphone app, and a built-in USB charger for convenient device charging.Performance is paramount to this buyer. They aspire to overtake bikes like the Dukes and Pulsars. However, they also emphasise the importance of a soft suspension that can absorb the impact of speed breakers and potholes commonly found on Indian roads. Vibration-free riding, even at top speeds, is a non-negotiable requirement. Price is a significant factor for them, as they are willing to wait for the best deal that offers the desired features and performance.Xtreme 160R 4V Races Ahead with its Impressive Power Output2023 Hero Xtreme 4V is a motorcycle that combines such real-world expectations into a competitive and affordable package, especially in its base variant. The inclusion of the “4V” moniker, which gained popularity with the Xpulse 200, is expected to work in favour of the Xtreme 160R. Hero has made significant engineering changes to the engine, including the addition of two valves and an oil cooler to manage increased performance. Redesigned crankcase and cylinder block, along with a revamped gearbox, contribute to improved engine responsiveness and seamless gear shifts. During our test ride, gearshifts were exceptionally smooth and precise.New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V ReviewThe 2023 Xtreme 160R 4V boasts impressive performance specifications, with a maximum power output of 16.9 hp at 8,500 rpm, surpassing its predecessor by 1.7 hp (around 10%). This results in noticeably quicker acceleration without compromising overall top speed. Hero MotoCorp claims it has the fastest acceleration in its segment, and although we couldn’t objectively verify this, we can confirm that the acceleration felt notably aggressive. The bike maintained its power effortlessly as it surged past 80 kmph, accompanied by minimal vibrations that were more of a bark than a bite.Mastering the Handling Track and Conquering Different Road SurfacesOur test ride took place at Hero’s Global Centre of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur, featuring a 16-kilometre-long test track with 45 different road surfaces designed to replicate real-world riding conditions. While we couldn’t experience all of them, our brief encounter with the Xtreme 160R 4V on the handling track, as well as on the plain and hilly surfaces, left us with the impression that it is one of the most comfortable bikes available. It is particularly suitable for riders with lower-back and spinal issues, often recommended by doctors just like the Honda Unicorn.New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V ReviewThe suspension, particularly at the rear, is exceptionally soft, hindering aggressive cornering and quick manoeuvres. While we didn’t experiment with different settings, the 7-step adjustable Showa monoshock at the rear allows for customization if a slightly stiffer setup is desired. On the other hand, the 37mm KYB USD front fork is well-tuned. The braking performance is adequate, although the bike’s aesthetics and muscular appearance may create expectations of a more aggressive bite. Nevertheless, the bike remains nimble and easy to adapt to. The stock tyres provide sufficient grip on dry, sunny roads. Xtreme 160R 4V Ownership: The Perfect Blend of Affordability and ExcitementMoving on to areas of improvement, there are a few notable points. The mirrors could offer a wider field of vision, although they do not suffer from excessive vibration. The front brake could have smoother operation, avoiding the false sensation of braking occurring prematurely. The placement and angle of the USB port could be more conducive to preventing cable bending and potential failure over time. The instrument cluster, while impressive in the dark, suffers from low brightness during daylight, making it challenging to read under sunlight. Additionally, the awkward tilt angle of the cluster exacerbates the issue. These issues should be addressed to fully utilize the cluster’s well-designed features.New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review2023 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is an impressive motorcycle that caters to both young riders and commuters. It exudes a fresh and captivating appeal, featuring a vibrant and refined engine that operates without any noticeable vibrations. With its comprehensive range of features and amenities, owning and riding this bike is a delightful experience. To put it simply, it’s the kind of motorcycle that would make even conventional dads look cool in the eyes of their kids and be embraced by the younger generation. New Hero Motorcycle Spied – Xtreme 125cc to rival Pulsar 125?

New Hero Xtreme 125R spied. Image – MRD VlogsUpon launch, Hero new commuter bike will rival the likes of TVS Raider, Bajaj Pulsar NS125 and Honda SP 125While Hero is the market leader in commuter motorcycle segment, there’s heavy reliance on Splendor 100cc bike. In April, share of Splendor in overall sales was more than 2/3rd. From a business perspective, this is quite like putting all your eggs in one basket. For a more diversified portfolio, Hero MotoCorp has been working on a new range of bikes. It comprises both new commuter bikes as well as premium offerings in middleweight segment. Xtreme 160R 4V was recently launched at Rs 1.36 lakh. Karizma XMR is expected to be launched later this year. Hero is also developing a new maxi scooter. These clearly indicate that Hero MotoCorp is looking to reduce dependence on its 100cc commuter bikes.New Hero Xtreme 125R spiedHero new commuter bike detailsStandard telescopic suspension and rear drum brake indicate that the test mule is a new 125cc commuter bike. With TVS Raider being the primary rival, Hero new bike has a sporty profile. Some key features include sharp headlamp, sculpted fuel tank with extensions, compact rear-view mirrors, sleek turn signals, all-LED lighting, split-seat design and stubby exhaust. The bike has a short tail section and rear tyre hugger.Hero new commuter bike can be seen with a fully digital instrument cluster. This could be the same or similar to the one used with other 125cc Hero bikes such as Glamour XTEC and Super Splendor XTEC. Or it could be similar to the inverted LCD console used with recently launched Xtreme 160R. To present it as a capable machine, Hero could equip the new commuter bike with Bluetooth connectivity.New Hero Xtreme 125R spiedAll while having a sporty profile, the bike has a comfortable riding stance. It has wide, pulled-back handlebar and centrally mounted foot pegs. Rider seat section has a scooped profile, ensuring lower seat height and optimal comfort. Pillion seat section appears a bit narrow, although the thick grab rails should be able to ensure adequate stability.New Hero Xtreme 125R spiedHero new commuter bike performanceHero new commuter bike is likely to borrow the 125cc motor from Hero’s other 125cc bikes. On-board Glamour XTEC and Splendor XTEC, the air-cooled engine churns out 10.7 bhp of max power and 10.6 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The bike has telescopic forks at front and a monoshock unit at rear. Braking duties are performed by a disc brake at front and a drum brake at rear. The bike is likely to be using 18-inch wheels at both ends.Hero’s new commuter bike could be launched later this year. Possibly around the festive season. Hero could be planning to launch the bike at a competitive price point. For reference, rival TVS Raider is available at a starting price of Rs 93,719 (ex-showroom Delhi). More

New Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Vs Pulsar, Apache – Specs, Features

Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Vs RivalsWhen compared to its immediate 160cc rivals, Hero Xtreme 160R 4V comes of as VFM offering, considering everything it packsThe 160cc street bike segment has heated up quite a bit since Hero MotoCorp launched Xtreme 160R 4V recently. This motorcycle now gets some of the most comprehensive sets of updates in just one iteration. Prices start from Rs. 1,27,300 for Standard variant and go till Rs. 1,36,500 for Pro variant with USD forks. Also, the 2V version of Xtreme 160R is still on sale. A strategy similar to Xpulse 200 range. But did Hero tick all the checkboxes? We compared it with all the other 160cc motorcycles to see where it falls. We’re talking about Hero’s own Xtreme 160R 2V, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and 2V and lastly, Honda X-Blade. Let’s take a look.Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Vs Rivals – Does it have what it takes?Looks are subjective. Personally, I love the look of the Pulsar NS160 the most. For my height (6 feet), it is the most ergonomic too. As per powertrains, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V is at the top with 17.3 bhp and the torquiest at 14.73 Nm. But it is quite a screamer and all that power comes in at a higher engine speed.Honda X-Blade makes just as much torque, but at a much lower engine speed. All of these street fighters get a 5-speed gearbox. Among this list, Pulsar NS160, Xtreme 160R 4V and Apache RTR 160 4V are the only ones with a 4-valve head. Only the Pulsar, Xtreme 160R 4V and Apache RTR 160 4V get oil cooling, while the rest are air-cooled. Surprisingly, Bajaj gave its newer Pulsar N160, a 2V head.Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Vs Rivals – ComparisonLongest wheelbase is with Pulsar NS160 and shortest is with Apache RTR 160 2V. Both Apache motorcycles get 160 mm ground clearance too, highest in this segment. Seat height is comparable between this lot, but the Pulsar NS160 gets the tallest seat. Xtreme 160R 4V gets a split seat option too, which was not the case with the 2V model.Even though the Pulsar N160 shows higher numbers in the engine department, all of that is off-set because of its 154 kg weight. In this area, Apache RTR 160 2V takes the cake with up to 138 kg kerb weight. Pulsar N160 is the only one with a larger 14L fuel tank, while the rest can hold 12L. Both Hero and Bajaj offer 100-section front tyres, but TVS offers 90-section and Honda goes a narrower size and offers 80-section tyre.Did Hero tick all the right boxes?Except for Apache RTR 160 2V, all motorcycles offer an option for 130-section rear tyres and 17” wheel size is common among all. TVS is the only one that offers a rear drum brake option with both its 160cc offerings and to offer conventional rotors while competition is offering petal discs. Pulsar NS160 gets the largest front disc at 300 mm, probably due to its hefty weight.Only Bajaj is offering Dual-Channel ABS in this segment, which is optional with N160 and standard on NS160. We still think Hero should have offered a fourth variant with Xtreme 160R 4V with Dual-Channel ABS, as it would have made it a complete package. Hero now joins the USD front forks wave in the 160cc segment along with Pulsar NS160. Except for the twin shock absorbers on Apache RTR 160 2V, the rest get mono-shock units. In terms of modernity, the Pulsar NS160 takes a back seat as it still features both halogen headlights and semi-digital instrument cluster. Hero, TVS and Honda have moved on with fully digital instrument consoles and LED headlights (Pulsar N160 gets LED headlights too). All motorcycles get LED tail lights and only Hero’s offerings get LED turn indicators with hazard light function.Since these are primarily street fighters intended for city use, Bluetooth connectivity and navigation features are welcome. Only Hero and TVS offer Bluetooth connectivity. TVS is the only one that seems to have invested in ride modes. But given that these are 160cc motorcycles and pushing a maximum of 17 horses, ride modes are kinda gimmicky.Hero has ticked four important boxes. 4V head, oil-cooling, USD front forks and up-market features. Pulsar NS160 ticks Hero’s first three boxes and then Dual-Channel ABS. So, do you want a lighter bike with more features? Or do you want a heavier bike with safer brakes? More

New Hero Maxi Scooter Design Patent Leaks – Looks Dope

Hero maxi scooter patentedFor the first time, Hero maxi scooter patented, surfaced on the internet and it looks like nothing else from India’s highest-selling 2W brandHero MotoCorp is on a mission to revamp its premium motorcycle portfolio. Just yesterday, Hero MotoCorp launched Xtreme 160R 4V with oil cooling, USD forks and Bluetooth connectivity starting from Rs. 1,27,300. We will witness the launch of Karizma flagship fully-faired motorcycle soon. But what about premium scooters? As of now, Hero has Maestro Edge 125 as its flagship scooter and the newest entrant is Xoom 110. Hero MotoCorp has patented a new maxi scooter in India and it is unlike anything we have ever seen from Hero. Quite literally! It has a lot going for it where design and desirability are concerned. Let’s take a look.Hero Maxi Scooter Patented – Launch in 2023?The company’s new direction in scooters with Xoom has yielded good results. Xoom is now highest-selling scooter from Hero. Sporty non-step-through maxi-styled scooters are quite a niche, but given that Yamaha is at it, Hero might as well. Looking at the patented image, it looks like Hero maxi scooter gets an all-new swingarm-mounted single-cylinder engine. This swingarm has a single-sided mono-shock suspension mount similar to Xoom 110.
