    Hero MotoCorp Sales May 2024 at 4.98 Lakh – Declines YoY and MoM

The company has seen sales dip both on YoY and MoM basis with falling sales across both motorcycles and scooters and where domestic sales are concerned. Exports on the other hand has shown off a significant YoY increase by 67.25% though exports dipped MoM.Hero MotoCorp YoY Sales May 2024Hero MotoCorp has recorded a 4.11% YoY growth selling 4,98,123 units in May 2024 as compared to 5,19,474 units sold in May of the previous year. Hero has also seen MoM sales dip by 6.65% over 5,33,585 units sold in April 2024.Hero MotoCorp Sales May 2024With a total of 4,98,123 units sold in May 2024, motorcycles accounted for 4,71,186 units, a 3.71% YoY de-growth from 4,89,336 units sold in May 2023. Motorcycles command a 94.59% share in the company portfolio over a 5.41% share held by scooters of which sales stood at 26,937 units, also a 10.62% YoY decline.Total domestic sales thus saw a 5.68% YoY decline to 4,79,450 units in the past month from 5,08,309 units sold in May 2023. However, there was a boost in terms of exports that ended May 2024 with an impressive sales tally of 18,673 units, a 67.25% improvement over 11,165 units shipped in May 2023.Hero MotoCorp Sales May 2024Hero MotoCorp MoM Sales May 2024On a month on month (MoM) basis as well, Hero MotoCorp saw declining sales in May 2024. Total sales dipped 6.65% MoM when compared to 5,33,585 units sold in April 2024 with sales de-growth across both motorcycles and scooters as well as where domestic sales and exports were concerned. Motorcycle sales fell by 5.11% from 4,96,542 units sold in April 2024 while scooter sales suffered a setback of 27.28% from 37,043 units. Total domestic sales dipped by 6.59% while exports fell by 7.96%.Year-to-Date (YTD) Sales May 2024Taking into account sales across the first two months (April-May 2024) of financial year FY 24-25, positive growth was seen at 12.68% over the same period of last year. Total sales (motorcycle + scooter and domestic + exports) improved to 10,31,708 units, a 1,16,127 unit volume growth over 9,15,581 units sold in the FY23-24 period.Motorcycle sales grew by 12.77% to 9,67,728 units from 8,58,166 units to command a 93.80% share while scooter sales were up 11.43% growing from 57,415 units sold in FY23-24 period to 63,980 units during the months of April and May 2024. Domestic sales growth stood at 10.98% to a total of 9,92,746 units while exports were up 84.76% to 38,962 units shipped in the past two months.As Hero MotoCorp has just launched the new Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 at the end of May 2024, Hero MotoCorp now plans a slew of new launches with the Hero Xoom 160 maxi style scooter which one launched will rival Yamaha’s Aerox 155.     New Hero Vida EVHero MotoCorp sold 5,12,124 units of motorcycles and scooters in domestic markets in April 2024 relating to an impressive YoY and MoM growthHero MotoCorp has recorded good sales in April 2024 with a total of 5,12,124 units sold in the said month. These sales marked a 32.62% YoY growth over 3,86,173 units sold in April 2023. It was also a MoM improvement of 11.96% when compared to 4,57,411 units sold in March 2024.Hero MotoCorp YoY Sales April 2024With a YoY growth at 32.62%, the company has seen the Splendor at the top of sales charts last month. Hero Splendor was once again also the best-selling two wheeler in the country, above the Honda Activa and Bajaj Pulsar. Sales of Splendor grew by 21.01% YoY to 3,20,959 units up from 2,65,225 units sold in April 2023 to command a 62.67% share.Top 10 Hero 2Ws April 2024The HF Deluxe followed at No. 2 with 97,048 units sold in the past month and a 23.31% YoY growth. It was Hero Passion that commanded a No. 3 spot with 25,751 unit sales and a triple digit improvement at 611.35% over just 3,620 units sold in April 2023. Hero Glamour (18,747 units) and Destini 125 (12,596 units) each posted improved sales while the Xtreme 125R, launched in January 2024, saw a total of 12,532 units sold last month. Hero Destini also found mention on the list of top 10 scooter sales last month.Hero Pleasure scooter also saw a 102.88% YoY improvement in sales to 11,820 units while Xoom sales dipped by 63.07% to 4,409 units from 11,938 units sold in April 2023. Hero Vida, its electric two wheeler offering has seen a 700% YoY growth in sales to 2,880 units.Hero MotoCorp Sales Breakup April 2024 – YoY ComparisonIt was the Xpulse 200 (1,932 units) and Xtreme 160/200 (1,447 units) that have also recorded triple digit growth in sales while the relatively new Mavrick 440 and Karizma 210 also added 1,049 units and 947 units respectively to total domestic sales last month. The Hero Mavrick also found mention on the list of 350cc to 450cc motorcycle sales in April 2024. The list was trailed by the Maestro with just 7 units sold, a 99.43% YoY decline.Hero MotoCorp Sales Breakup April 2024 – MoM ComparisonHero MotoCorp MoM Domestic Sales April 2024With an 11.96% MoM growth, Hero MotoCorp saw most of its portfolio show off outstanding growth. The Splendor experienced a 12.17% MoM growth while HF Deluxe sales were up 15.61% from 83,947 units sold in March 2024. Sales also improved for the Passion and Glamour by 14.49% and 10.11% respectively.Destini sales dipped 10.94% from 14,143 units sold in March 2024 to 12,596 units in the past month. This was a volume growth of 1,27,712 units.  Scooter sales on the other hand also saw a 35.80% growth from 27,277 units sold in April 2023 to 37,043 units in the past month to command a 6.94% share on this list.Hero MotoCorp Sales April 2024Total domestic sales thus grew by 32.91% to 5,13,296 units in April 2024 from 3,86,184 units sold in April 2023. Domestic sales command a 96.20% share while exports hold a 3.80% share on this list. In the future, there could be a cafe racer or an ADV variant as well based on the same platform.As compared to the roadster, Mavrick 440 Scrambler will have capabilities to tackle more challenging riding environments. It will be a versatile machine, suited for urban streets as well as off-road tracks. To unlock such possibilities, Mavrick 440 Scrambler will be getting some functional upgrades.Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler name trademarkedFor example, the bike is expected to get a wider handlebar. It will allow improved control and leverage, something that will be useful across off-road tracks. However, there is unlikely to be any major difference in output numbers. Suspension and braking setup will be largely the same as the roadster. Mavrick 440 has 43mm telescopic forks at front and 7-step adjustable twin shock absorbers at rear. Braking setup comprises 320 mm and 240 mm discs at front and rear, respectively.Mavrick 440 Scrambler will have all LED lighting. The digital speedometer with negative display will be the same as the roadster version. Users can pair their smartphones via Bluetooth to access functions such as missed call alerts, message notifications, phone battery status and turn-by-turn navigation.
