2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4VJust launched, 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V will rival TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Honda Hornet 2.0 among other premium commutersThe sporty 160cc motorcycle segment has been very lucrative for OEMs. This is a tier above the non-sporty and non-premium 150cc – 160cc offerings and strikes a decent balance between style and substance for buyers. Hero Xtreme 160R has been updated to MY24 with a few feature additions along with improvements in componentry. The bike was just launched. Let’s take a look at what’s new.2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V LaunchedIn June 2023, Hero MotoCorp launched the new Xtreme 160R with USD telescopic front forks and a host of other features. With this launch, Hero offered a 4V head, oil cooling setup and USD telescopic front forks along with a striking design with premium LED lighting to appeal to young riders.2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V – FeaturesAt the time, many enthusiasts felt that Hero should have offered dual-channel ABS to make Xtreme 160R 4V a more complete and rounded-off product. Come July 2024, Hero MotoCorp is doing just that and is ensuring there are more features inbound to better rival the offerings from rivals like TVS and Honda.New 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V has been launched with improved features list and addition of Dual-Channel ABS. Prices have been announced and start from Rs 1,38,500  (Ex-sh). When compared to current model, price increment is Rs 2,000. There is a new Kevlar Brown colour option. Colours retained from its predecessor include Neon Shooting Star and Stealth Black.2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4VBefore diving into its updated features list, let’s get design updates out of the way. The primary attribute that attracts all the attention is its new colourway. It is a black and bronze-like brown combination with interesting decals. Split seat design is replaced with a single-piece unit for comfort. There seems to be a new LED tail light as well that looks a lot more modern and premium than before. Speaking of tail lights, Hero is offering first-in-segment panic brake alerts with 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V that enhances safety proposition.2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4VNew featuresApart from panic brake alert, Hero is now offering dual-channel ABS with 2024 Xtreme 160R 4V that ups the overall safety quotient. Hero Xpulse 210 Spied With Karizma’s 210cc Engine – New Details!

Hero Xpulse 210 SpiedUpcoming Hero Xpulse 210 spied, hints at a larger fuel tank and aerodynamic tank shrouds that should prove beneficial for cruisingAfter a long gap, Hero Xpulse 210 spy shots have made an appearance again. Maybe the testing was always active, but test mules went unnoticed owing to the stark similarities with Xpulse 200 4V. Either way, we’re excited to see Hero’s commitment to this product and we wish it launches soon.Hero Xpulse 210 SpiedThe concept of Karizma engine in a Hero ADV is nothing new. There are many Karipulse (horrendous name, though) out there blazing the trails. These were old Karizma engines mated to Impulse chassis by a few Hero dealerships. For track-use only, as these weren’t road-legal.A concept so good, that Hero MotoCorp is considering making one for the road. This is a culmination of Xpulse 200 4V chassis with the new 210cc DOHC 4V liquid-cooled engine debuted with Karizma XMR 210. With this new engine, Xpulse will be bestowed with a 6-speed gearbox, slipper clutch and other attributes.Looking at the new spy shots, we can’t help but conclude that this is very close to production-spec. We say this because the previous set of spy shots taken from Leh Ladakh region in 2023 did not feature any additional design elements. The new spy shots, however, show aerodynamic tank shrouds and a larger fuel tank (please be 17L).Upcoming Hero Xpulse 210Hero MotoCorp seems to be testing out the touring capabilities of Xpulse 210 with aftermarket panniers. Conversely speaking, these might be Hero’s own panniers to be launched alongside the Xpulse 210. Attributes like tall windscreen, knuckle guards, rear luggage rack, a front beak, high ground clearance are carried over. What to expect?Xpulse 200 4V was a significant upgrade over the 2V with added refinement and performance. However, Xpulse 200 4V can’t be the only motorcycle in one’s garage as it lacks grunt for higher highway cruising speeds. Karizma’s 210cc engine packs 25.15 bhp of peak power and 20.4 Nm of peak torque.6.25 bhp and 3.05 Nm more than the current Xpulse 200 4V. The 6th gear, higher engine speeds, smoother liquid-cooled setup and the larger fuel tank of upcoming Xpulse 210 will ensure a better highway cruising experience and improved overall rideability. Dual-channel ABS might be added on top of all the componentry Xpulse 200 4V currently gets.Hero Xpulse 210 spotted testingFeatures-wise, we will get LED headlights, H-shaped LED DRLs, LED tail lights, engine cut-off sensor, engine kill switch, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, USB charging port (Type-C, we hope). The spy shot showed 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke alloys as current Xpulse, front and rear disc brakes and others. We hope there is a Pro variant too, with fully adjustable front and rear suspension with significantly higher suspension travel and ground clearance to fully unlock the off-roading potential of this platform. Hero Xpulse 210 comes close to being the one motorcycle in the garage philosophy. At around Rs 1.6 lakh (Ex-sh), this would be something I’d personally buy. Also read – Hero Xpulse 440 spied testingSource – Motoroctane More

New Hero Centennial Launched – Limited To 100 Units, Sales Via Auction

Hero Centennial Based On Karisma XMR 210Even though the differences to Hero Centennial are vast over Karizma XMR 210, the company didn’t mention increase in power and torqueAt the grand stage of Mavrick 440 launch, Hero MotoCorp also showcased a few of their upcoming vehicles. We’re not talking about Xoom 160 and Xoom 125R scooters soon to launch in India. Instead, we’re talking about the extremely limited (100 units) Karizma-based Hero CE limited edition motorcycle that will be auctioned soon.Hero Centennial To Be Auctioned SoonWhen the Karizma was launched, Indian motorcycling fraternity yearned for a sportier version. The company has answered this call and unveiled Hero Centennial. At the time of unveiling, it was referred to as Karizma CE (Commemorative Edition). Thus signifying the fact that it was positioned on a standard Karizma XMR 210.Hero Karizma CEKarizma CE was Hero’s attempt to commemorate 101st birth anniversary of Late Dr Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the founder of Hero MotoCorp. Now, Karizma CE has taken a definitive name and is being called ‘The Centennial’, which is the sportiest form that Karizma can aspire to be. Despite being based on a Karizma XMR 210, it is quite unique in its positioning. That’s because the sportiest Karizma will not be launched for the mainstream market. Hero MotoCorp is launching only 100 units of Centennial and will be auctioned off to company employees, business partners and stakeholders as a collectors item. Contributions from the auction will be utilized for greater good of the society, signifying founder’s ethos.Hero Karizma CEAccording to Hero MotoCorp, the Centennial was designed and developed by CIT (Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology) in India and TCG (Hero Tech Centre in Germany). All 100 units of the Centennial are meticulously crafted with excellent craftsmanship and premium components that are not seen with standard Karizma.Hero Centennial Based On Karisma XMR 210Also, Hero MotoCorp has greenlighted ‘My Hero, My Story’ campaign. Where Hero customers can take part and share an anecdote of their journey with their Hero motorcycle. Top entries from this campaign will be selected and awarded with a Centennial motorcycle. The company didn’t specify how many Centennials will be reserved for this campaign. What does Centennial get extra? When compared to the standard Hero MotoCorp Karizma XMR 210, Centennial is a lot more comprehensive in its equipment. For starters, it gets a unique semi-fairing and rear seat cowl made entirely out of carbon fiber along with other body panels. Hero has used anodised and machined aluminium on the triple clamp, handlebars, rear-set foot pegs, handlebar mounts and swingarm, unique to Centennial.Hero Centennial Based On Karisma XMR 210There is upgraded componentry in the form of fully-adjustable mono-shock suspension from Wilbers, 43mm USD telescopic front forks with damping adjustment, a titanium exhaust from Akrapovic and others. Next-Gen Hero Destini Scooter Leaked – 125cc Activa, Jupiter, Access, Fascino Rival

Next-Gen Hero Destini Scooter Vs Current ModelWhile current model on sale is a contemporary family scooter, next-gen Hero Destini 125 seems to be going for a retro scooter appealHero MotoCorp, world’s largest 2W manufacturer in volumes, is taking greater strides in scooter segment. Primarily known for its budget commuter lineup, Hero is gearing up to launch more scooters to consolidate its position. One among those upcoming scooters is the next-gen Hero Destini and the production-spec version has been leaked showing the entire vehicle.Next-Gen Hero Destini – Next big thing in 125cc scooter segment? The 125cc scooter segment generates less sales and interest than 100cc to 110cc scooters. But the magnitude of this landscape is changing and 125cc scooters are gaining more prominence. Capitalizing on this growth are OEMs like TVS, Honda, Suzuki and Hero MotoCorp.Recently, Next-Gen Hero Destini 125 scooter has been leaked ahead of launch. Interestingly, there has not been a single spy shot or this upcoming scooter and Hero has played its cards close to the chest. Regardless, we get to see the full scooter in production guise now and without any camouflage. One can also see most of the exterior features and attributes as there is no camouflage. When compared to current Destini 125, the upcoming model almost looks like it has taken a Classic and Retro scooter vibe. We say this because current Destini 125 looked like any other contemporary family scooter.Current Hero Destini 125 XTECNow, it has been transformed into a stylish and retro-looking offering that should take on the likes of Yamaha Fascino and Vespa scooters. We can see an all-new apron with sleeker turn indicators and contrasting trims. The chunky chrome has been done away with and the headlight is now in a triangular housing.Upgrade in componentsPlastic panels behind the apron are painted that continues on the floorboard and side panels have been transformed to look like a retro scooter. Seat looks more contoured than before and pillion backrest looks the same, while grab rail is painted black. Exhaust heat shield is new and so are the swankier alloy wheels. For the first time, Destini 125 is getting a front disc brake option. We can expect other attributes like an external fuel filler cap, USB charging socket, XTEC connectivity with turn-by-turn navigation and others. Powertrains-wise, it is likely to retain the same 124.6cc single-cylinder engine with 9 bhp and 10.4 Nm with i3S stop/start feature. We hope Hero is offering 12-inch alloy wheels like a Xoom 110, instead of 10-inchers. There might be a slight bump in pricing and the new model is likely to expand Hero’s presence in India’s 125cc scooter realm. Rivals include Honda Activa 125, Yamaha Fascino 125, TVS Jupiter 125 and upcoming Suzuki Access 125 facelift.Source More

New Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0 Vs Rivals – Shine 100, Platina 100

Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0 Vs RivalsAmong the 100cc commuters, new Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0 emerges as the most feature-loaded offering and feels worth the added costSplendor has been a staple motorcycle in India and is country’s best-selling motorcycle and even the world. Hero recently launched Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 for Rs. 82,911 (Ex-sh) and it is a new top-spec variant of Splendor+ lineup and packs a lot more features than before. How does it stack up against stark rivals like Honda Shine 100 and Bajaj Platina 100? Let’s take a look.Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0 Vs Rivals – Specs, FeaturesHonda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is often not the one that achieves aggressive pricing or launches VFM products. However, the company’s Shine 100 was a surprising twist in strategies. At Rs. 64,900 (Ex-sh), Shine 100 undercuts Bajaj Platina 100 by around Rs 3K and Splendor XTEC 2.0 by Rs. 18K.2024 Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0That said, Splendor+ base model without all these bells and whistles costs around Rs. 73K and the company has HF Deluxe 100 for under 60K (both prices Ex-sh). On the other hand, Platina 100 costs Rs. 67,808 (Ex-sh). All bikes have comparable engine displacement. Power and torque figures are in the same ballpark too. However, Shine 100 makes its peak power and torque at lower RPMs than the other two. All engines are mated to a 4-speed gearbox and they all get self-starters along with side stand engine cut-off feature. Splendor is the only one to offer engine stop/start feature and claims the highest mileage (fuel efficiency) at 73 km/l as opposed to Platina’s 70 km/l and Shine’s 55 km/l.Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0 Vs Rivals – ComparisonDimensions-wise, Platina 100 has the longest wheelbase at 1,255 mm and it is the heaviest too, at 117 kg. In comparison, Splendor+ is 112 kg and Shine 100 is 99 kg. Platina also has the biggest fuel tank at 11L. Splendor is the only one with an integrated luggage rack, which is among the big pulls for target demographic.2024 Hero Splendor XTEC 2.0Also a big pull is the fact that Hero MotoCorp Splendor is the only one to offer tubeless tyres and larger 18-inch alloy wheels. Both rivals offer tube-type tyres and smaller 17-inch alloy wheels. Splendor is also the only one to offer a larger 130mm drum brake at the rear, while other two offer a 110mm drum. Front 130mm drum brake is standard for all. No disc brakes here.Which one is the most feature-loaded?Where suspension setup is concerned, Splendor offers preload adjustable rear shock absorbers, whereas the other two don’t. Non-adjustable RSU telescopic front suspension is standard in this comparison. The recently launched Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 is the only 100cc commuter with LED headlights and hazard lights in India and probably even the world.Except for Shine 100, both Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 and Platina 100 offer LED DRLs. Where instrument clusters are concerned, Splendor+ blows its rivals out of the water by offering a fully digital instrument cluster. Not just that, it even has Bluetooth connectivity with notification alerts something both rivals miss out on.Features like real-time fuel efficiency, average fuel efficiency, phone connectivity, app support, and USB Type-A charging port are only offered by Splendor+ XTEC 2.0. The added pricing with Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 is justified as it offers a lot more as well. With these attributes, Hero is targeting tech-savvy commuter motorcycle buyers and for everyone else, these are nice-to-have. If not, the base model is always there. More
